  • Well that was fun, too bad the people here give him a weird pompous feeling. He isn't too keen on those were selfish and unwelcoming, and so the boy, with the scent of the Sanguine Ruins and the Blackheart Rogues freshly taped to his pelt, makes one final stride as he collects what he had left in this temporary place. Nobody is going to miss him, but Laslow think's it's better that way. Perhaps he will come back if he wants to sight-see the islands again. This clan is lucky to have a beautiful territory.

And so, he writes a small note, thanking the BlizzardClanner's for their hospitality, but... no thanks.

You guys have great facilities but in the end the people here aren't for me! You do you though, sorry I didn't stick around long!

    - Ini Laslow Borealis

He curses himself for almost writing his real name instead of his alias, but then shrugs it off. None know why he doesn't simply use his old name anyway, they have no idea what he is hiding from. With that small note, he leaves what can only be considered a parting gift for the odd squad. A small plate of... muffins? Interesting.

With his dues done, he leaves skipping off towards the desert knowing that hey, at least he tried.

"SPEECH" ☼ TAGS ☼ resides in many clans

  • Canoris couldn't read, one of the bigger downsides of being blind. She smelled the muffins, she smelled Sanguine Ruins, and she smelled Blackheart. It made a lot of questions bloom in her mind, but the medic didn't want to shout out to the air.

Puzzled, she walked up to the muffins and accidentally stepped on the note. It crunched under her paws and she stepped back quickly, cursing under her breath. Great spirits she missed her sight. "Could someone come read this for me?"

  • WHY AREN'T YOU SCARED OF ME? —

She couldn't exactly read, the young girl was still learning that skill and so, she wouldn't be too much help to the blind femme. What attracted her were the muffins placed near the paper that the canine was currently trying to decipher. The light colored child would rapidly crawl over, give the muffins a quick look before shifting her attention to the letter. "Well, it says... You... Me... You, you, sorry, I!" The girl triumphantly states and looked up at the medic. The other words in the mix were a little indecipherable for her and she did not want to make a fool of herself by attempting to sound them out.

    — WHY DO YOU CARE FOR ME?

  • His sister's shadow, Monroe came to stand silently beside Ophelia, staring stoically down at the note. Chicken scratch meant nothing to him. He didn't even recognise the scent clinging to the note - smelly as it was. (And he was sure that if he had smelt it once before, he would have remembered it.) "That sounds about right," he remarked seriously. Monroe's flat voice left the matter - as to whether he was speaking sardonically or to encourage his sister - ambiguous.

  • — chuckling to herself at the antics of the children, olivia made her way over. "almost there, my dear," murmured the calico femme, scanning over the note herself, pursing her lips slightly. she hadn't known inigo too well, but... she'd believed themselves to be rather welcoming, though perhaps that was just biased, since she was one of the welcoming committee. a small sigh breezed her lips before she began to read aloud the note. "you guys have great facilities but in the end the people here aren't for me... you do you though, sorry i didn't stick around long. signed laslow borealis. there's something... crossed out next to the name, but i can't make it out," olivia murmured, chocolate gaze squinting before she placed the note back on the ground.

  • Canoris' ears twitched with amusement as two kiddos she didn't know tried to read her the note. Ah, a typical case of the blind leading the blind. How nice. "And who are you two? I don't think we've met." She asked them, seeing as she wouldn't be getting the information she wanted out of them. "I'm Canoris." How had she missed these two around camp? She supposed their scents smelled familiar but their voices were foreign to her. Canoris didn't like how being blind made her miss new members much more often around camp.

And then Olivia came and gave her what she wanted. Canoris murmured a thanks as she thought about the note's contents. "Interesting." She said, mostly to herself. The name sounded vaguely familiar, but it seemed it was yet again one she'd missed. She'd have to be more careful about that. "Did you know them?"

  • Hearing Olivia's laugh, Monroe turned slightly, watching the calico with a side-glance. With some scrutiny, he listened to the message she read aloud. On paper, there wasn't very many emotions attached, so Monroe quickly grew bored with the note's contents. He didn't know the author of the note anyways, so what did they matter to him.

Bored gold eyes turned onto Canoris when the blind medic spoke up. Funny, how the note - what had brought them all here in the first place - had quickly become a bit of an afterthought. "I'm Monroe," he introduced himself politely. "I already know you." The blind wolf was the animal in charge of picking medic trainees. If he had an interest in practicing medicine or if he was lowly enough to brownnose, perhaps Monroe would be speaking to her more animately. She would get his authentic self instead. "This one's my sister." He nudged Peach with some quiet affection.

  • — olivia pursed her lips, tilting her head slightly as her cocoa gaze lingered on the note. at canoris' question, she shook her head, before realising that the canine could not see her do so. monroe then introduced himself and his sister- as she had been reading she had noticed the bored look in the child's eyes, though didn't blame him- laslow's joining had been before he even hatched, so there would likely be little to no attachment felt. "i met him very briefly when he joined. henry asked him how many rows of teeth sharks have, but... that's all i remember, really." she murmured shrugging her shoulders. "it's a shame, though." she added, a hint of sadness in her voice. laslow had seemed a perfectly friendly tom, and she felt slightly disappointed in herself for not giving him enough incentive to stick around. maybe she'd run into him again sometime, though she doubted he'd remember her- she believed she was particularly forgettable, especially to someone like him who had up and left the clan with what seemed to be little thought, other than a note and some muffins. nice gesture, but... liv wouldn't take one.

  • "This one? Odd name." Canoris deadpanned. If you knew her, you'd know she was joking. If she'd had eyes, you'd see the glimmer of amusement. Lacking those, you may think her just crazy.

She didn't like that Monroe claimed to know her when she knew nothing of him and made a mental note to be more present in the days to come. "Nice to officially meet you then, Monroe."

At Olivia's answer and comment Canoris nodded, "Odd for him to just join and leave. Though Henry is a special one to have greet newcomers." Better they learn the color of the place before getting too attached though, right? Maybe. His leaving so soon with the note and muffins did make her suspicious. "I'd almost hesitate to eat the muffins." She mused, almost to herself. She wasn't concerned so much that she'd stop someone else from eating them, but she was wary.

  • WHY AREN'T YOU SCARED OF ME? —

The little beast grinned when her brother joined her, confirming her answer but just as quickly, the sword wielding femme corrected her interpretation of the text. Immediately, the child descended upon the note, her pale pinkish eyes scanning the scrawlings of this creature named Laslow. Olivia had said so many words that she did not recognize and the girl was driven by an internal fire to learn them all, thus missing the question the Canoris posed as she was too deep in her sudden studying. "Fuh sil lih teas," the hatchling muttered the odd word to herself, "what does that even mean?"

However, she was brought back to reality when her brother nudged her, the girl's pale eyes flicked upwards to pay attention to the situation once more. "My name's Ophelia! Not 'this one'," The small dragon announced indignantly to Canoris, unable to catch the woman's humor. However, upon the mention of MUFFINS, the girl was placated and she crawled forward, her little snout taking in the delicious aroma of the baked treat. By this point, she had already forgotten about the creature who had left, food was more important to her after all. "They look yummy though! Let's all try a bite!" Peach snatched one of the muffins up in her 'wing hands'.

    — WHY DO YOU CARE FOR ME?

  • Only idly paying attention to Olivia's recollection about the animal who wrote the note and "Henry", Monroe returned his attention to the interaction to Canoris, frowning to himself. The young dragon was simultaneously skeptical and naive - was the medic actually this simple-minded or was she poking fun at them?

Looking to his sister, he shrugged. "Things." Monroe didn't know how to give an answer more specific about that. His expression souring, he trailed after Peach, wary. He had hardly even noticed the cupcakes until now. Monroe didn't care for anything but meat or fish. "Let's not," he suggested, his voice light. Monroe knew his sister better than to push. He had to cajole, appeal to her more refined senses. "You don't know where their hands have been. We're better off making our own cupcakes." Or better, yet getting Aleksei to do it because Monroe sure didn't know the first thing about baking, nor was he inclined to learn.
