  • After Blackstar's announcements were over, Flameseeker padded towards the camp's exit. All free warriors and apprentices were to begin working on their new camp, and she wasn't going to wait any longer. Heatherbloom had found this new camp for them, and having it sit empty any longer was almost an insult on the former medicine cat. Her tail thumped along the ground impatiently as she waited for any clanmates to arrive. "I'm headed to the new camp to begin working, anyone is free to come help. Besides kits of course." she shouldn't have to add that, but she knew that if she didn't there would be that one wise cracker.

With that, the senior warrior slipped out of the camp, and into the burned forest. The snow had stopped, and the days were growing ever so slightly warmer each day. Newleaf was coming, she could feel it. Soon her kits would be able to experience warmth, and full bellies. They deserved it. Skypaw had nearly died from hunger a few moons ago. As well as Lightpaw! Just hang in there a little longer..

Once she arrived at the Great Sycamore, she could only smile. Even though the wind was cold and bitter, this new home made her feel warm inside. This was perfect. With some hard work, this would easily become a camp they would all be proud of. She then set out to collect some sticks and other building materials.

  • Tufted ears perked as the call of the senior warrior reached them. Humming softly he pressed away from what he had been doing before trailing after the woman. Ah, the new camp, he still had yet to see it as they were still making the transition from the temporary camp to the new one. He had helped carry some things from the old camp to the new one but he still had yet to get a good glimpse of it. So why not take now to do just that?

A soft smile crossed the maw of the tabby man as he slunk after Flameseeker. Ember eyes widened by a fraction, full of interest as he now had a good look at what would soon be the new camp. It was nice, suitable. He felt a pang of sympathy as he recalled Blackstar's words that Heatherbloom had been the one to discover the new camp. He only wished the deceased medicine cat had been alive to see them move into the camp. He also wished he had gotten to know the woman better before she passed. She had seemed like such a lovely woman. He could've asked her to teach him about medicine and herbs as well, but it was a tad too late now. Nonetheless, he still silently prayed for the deceased medicine cat.

Stepping into the new camp he, along with Flameseeker, began to gather sticks and twigs between his large jaws with a hint of a smile on his lips. As long as he was able to help out around the clan. He just wanted to help in the transition from the old camp to the new one.

Snow didn't normally pitch in with the work the warriors did, mostly because she hung around with the queens to help them handle the kits and the white tabby was a permanent resident within the nursery. But because this was the new nursery being built, Snow felt as if she needed to lend a paw in its creation. After all, this was likely where she might raise another litter, where her children might raise their litters. It needed to be done right.

Trotting after Flameseeker, following the other she-cat and nudging her shoulder in a friendly gesture, the white tabby queen pranced alongside her to the Great Sycamore. Snow had only been out this way a few times, and every instances stole her breath for a moment when she caught sight of the large tree. It was positively magnificent, and she wished this giant thing could be closer to camp so she could come see it more often.

Focusing again on their task, Snow glanced between Flameseeker and Rulindil curiously. "What do you need me to help with?" the white tabby inquired, looking to help wherever she could.

  • Sprucepaw had heard Flameseeker's call, and had immediately started out after the she-cat. He was eager to see their new camp and be apart of the team that would build it from scratch. What a story he could tell later on! The breeze buffeted his fluffy fur as the tom padded behind the others, blue eyes gleaming. He was hungry, sure, but newleaf would end that feeling pretty soon. At least, he hoped. As they walked, Sprucepaw picked up various moss and twigs, thinking that surely something along those lines could help. "Imf 'ere!" He called around the stuff in his mouth.

  • Her white tail tip would flick behind her in greeting as a few of her clanmates arrived. Running to Thunderclan for refugee after her mother had been killed was one of the best decisions she could have ever made. Yeah, she could no doubt live by herself, but always knowing you had an entire clan behind you back was heartwarming. "Thank you guys." the she-cat said gently, a smile forming on her crooked jaw.

She then turned around, gazing at the tree. Blackstar had said the nursery was hidden around some roots of the Great Sycamore..Oh! There it was. "Over here, this will be where the nursery will be." the senior warrior declared, leading the small group towards the site. She was partially surprised that Snow was helping, but of course the more the merrier. "If I remember the description correctly.." Flameseeker started, as she began to examine the roots. "It dips down here.." she would then carefully slip her way into the hidden cave entwined with the roots and under the bush. She then poked her head up, and crawled back out. "Looks to me like we just need to make sure the roof is nice and strong. There is already a bush covering the cave, so maybe if we work from the inside it will make it easier."

Carefully picking her way down after Flameseeker, Snow looked around at the structure that the younger she-cat had guided them to, taking it in with appreciation. It seemed to be rather dry despite the amount of snow that had been falling throughout leafbare. She wondered how it would hold up during the rainy season, but it honestly seemed like it would hold up well. Nodding as she turned her pale blue gaze back to the she-cat, Snow beamed towards the warrior eagerly. "This seems like a promising nursery. What should we gather together to start reinforcing the roof?" Snow wasn't sure if there were any decent branches around that might help the structure, and she wondered what they might fill in any gaps with, given the lack of vegetation currently growing in the forest.

  • The queen would nod in response to Snow's words, using it to buy time as she tried to think of an answer. The fire had left them with hardly and resources vegetation wise, and what sticks they had were charred and fairly weak. She padded out from the hidden cave, and looked up at the Great Sycamore. "I wonder.." she began, obviously thinking of some ideas as she looked at the tree. The tabby walked up to the base of the tree, then walked around it, looking for any loose bark. It didn't take long to find some, she just had to climb a ways to reach it. "If I can get that chunk of bark to fall off, we can use that as a roof. It looks plenty big enough." she would respond, turning her head to look back at the white feline.

The loose bark was only a few fox tail lengths up the tree, so reaching it wouldn't be an issue. "You guys stay back, when this falls it could hurt somebody." she would call out, loud enough for anybody in the future camp to hear. Then, using her powerful back legs she would jump and latch onto the tree trunk. It didn't take long before the tabby was to the loose piece of bark. She climbed above it, and used her back legs to knock it free, sending it tumbling down. Luckily the fall wasn't far enough down for it to split or break. Then, carefully she would ease herself down. "What do you guys think?"

Before Snow could stop the other she-cat, Flameseeker was up the side of the Great Sycamore and sending a large piece of bark tumbling to the ground. Approaching the piece of wood only once it had settled, Snow poked and prodded at it, testing the durability like it hadn't just survived a huge fall. But she nodded and turned an approving gaze to the warrior, tail flicking gently. "It will definitely work. But maybe no more tree climbing for a bit?" Snow pointedly glanced at Flameseeker, knowing the other had kits to keep in mind. There were plenty of other cats in the Clan who could do the dangerous tree climbing for a little while.

  • "Now, that looks fine. Let's make it a little bigger this time." Duskeyes chuckled. She went over to Flameseeker and inspected the massive chunk of bark. She nodded again, amused.

Rowanwhisker was a little late to the making a nursery 'party' but he was here nonetheless. Noticing that Snow saw there, he smiled. He remembered when she'd first joined them. The poor she-cat had been so weary. And now she was a big, strong, healthy cat. And she was even helping out! She'd come so far. Looking around at what they were all doing, he asked, "What you you like me to do?"
