  • He wasn't supposed to be here. He knew that. He knew he should have spoken to someone back in RiverClan before doing this, he was still trying to prove his loyalty over there and if anyone found out about him leaving the territory to go sit on DarkClan's border it sure wouldn't help. But... Berylpaw was scared.

For the past few days, he had heard whispers, rumors of the DarkClan deputy's disappearance. As much as he hated to admit it... he was heavily bothered by it. He even heard his sister by blood had now vanished, he was hoping their disappearances were connected and they vanished together, that they were okay.

Berylpaw stood by the DarkClan border at sat down, his golden eyes scanning the territory as if she'd be the one to find him here. He had only ever met Jewelpelt once, and he had blown up at her. She abandoned him and his littermates for what Berylpaw still believed was for her own needs not theirs, but he was filled with regret... what if she was gone forever? He was given another chance at family and he practically told her and his siblings to get lost and left after that night.

He had the chance to have a mother again.

So he waited for the next patrol, hoping the whispers and rumors he heard were false and her face would be among the first set of cats to find him.

//pretend this is a few days after her disappearance lol.

  • Birdwatcher

A scent caused the pale tabico to distance herself away from the hunting patrol she had tagged along with, the scent was that of Riverclan which she found to be odd. Birdwatcher follow it to spot a white maine coon sitting at the border, or rather a big white blurr in her eyes. "State your name and business, please." The molly instructed as her blues narrowed in attempt to better focus in upon the feline.

  • The smell of something strange hit the roof of her muzzle, eyes of malice shifting over the lay of the land but hidden from view as the fog continued to have a strong presence within the home of Darkclan. She was steadily getting used to the environment but she was also becoming heavily pregnant as the days rolled on. But she was still up and about perhaps against the wishes of others. Her paws carefully picked their way through thick snow and fallen ice as she braved the cold that most of the area was given. Her attention was on the scent of Riverclan and she allowed her gaze to roam over the area before she settled upon the figure of what looked to be an apprentice. Birdwatcher was already here so she figured she would merely dip her head in greeting. They had suffered two great losses not to long ago and the queen still wasn't sure how to feel about it.

  • The white tom was disappointed that none of the first couple faces were that of his mothers, though that didn't matter. Perhaps there was a chance she was just back at camp? On a hunting patrol? Just as long as she wasn't gone, dead for all DarkClan knew.

He dipped his head respectively to the two DarkClanner's who approached him first before opening his maw to speak. "I'm here to make sure Jewelpelt, my mother is okay." He spoke after a few brief moments. There was obvious worry in his tone, it was out of character for the usually snarky commenting tom.

"I belong to the first litter she was carrying when she first joined DarkClan. I took wind of some rumors that she... she vanished? I'm here to see if its true..."

  • Poor thing. Her thoughts swirled with sympathy as she allowed a soft sadness to enter her two toned gaze. If only it had not been so but evidence proved that something had happened and they didn't know ifJewelpelt was ever going to come back. Timberkit's situation was even more grievous and she allowed a soft sigh to leave her throat as she shook her head a bit. "I'm sorry. Jewelpelt was taken by twolegs in one of their monsters. Her trail reek of it and we have no idea where they have gone." It was a painful thing to acknowledge but by the time it was noticed the trail was long gone and she could be anywhere by now. Her tail curled around her paws as she looked at her paws, a frown pulling at her muzzle before she gave a soft breath. "....Something happened to Timberkit as well and...I'm just not sure what."

  • Birdwatcher

Her ear twitched upon hearing pawsteps in the snow causing her to cast a sideways glance and spot a newer member of the clan though one certainly welcomed by Pitchstar.. Her eyes moved back upon the tom as he spoke and her ears flattened against her head at his words. Oh.. This was their absent deputy's son? Birdwatcher's tail gave an anxious twitch, her head turned back towards Eveningshade as she explained what had happened to Jewelpelt to the poor tom. "She's a strong molly, perhaps she'll come back to us." She'd offer softly as her blue gaze returned upon the Riverclanner.

  • "Jewelpelt was taken."

    Jewelpelt was taken.

    Gone.

Those words was all that Berylpaw needed to hear to finally break, his claws dug into the surface of the snow as he bit back the urge to scream and yowl in both anger and sorrow. First Mosseyes, then Orchardbreeze, then Vinesplash, and now when he finally got a second chance of having a family, it was gone?! Taken away from him? Just like that? He hated himself, oh he hated himself so much. The only words he had ever spoken to his mother by blood was words that held nothing but anger, he made her feel bad about what her actions and choices had put him through. He never once thought that maybe her wanting to be a mother again was genuine, not even for a moment until now... and she was gone.

The tom stared at the ground without saying anything for a long few moments, his ears flattened. No one knew if she was dead or alive, and Berylpaw wondered which they should hope for. Hope shes alive back trapped in the walls of twoleg nests like she once was? Back in the place she escaped so she could be free? Or dead? Roaming around happily, free in StarClan. Which was he supposed to hope for?

He let out a small chuckle to Birdwatcher's comment, not that he found it funny, it was mostly just to hide his pain. "Yeah... maybe." He said with a soft smile, one that quickly disappeared.

However, unknown to most of DarkClan, Berylpaw didn't even know Jewelpelt had carried another litter. He had stormed off at their family reunion too quickly for her to tell him, so his head tilted at Eveningshade's mention of Timberkit. "Timberkit?..." He spoke a little confused. "A kit in DarkClan went missing around the same time as her?"

  • Perhaps she should not have said anything about Timberkit's sudden disappearance but it was rather odd that both their deputy and an young kit would disappear at the same time. Was it because Starclan thought that they had turned their backs on them? A frown pulled across her muzzle and she could hear the craggy dark forest feline laughing in her ear causing it to twitch for a moment before she gave a soft and almost hushed sigh from her chocolate colored maw. Shifting from one paw to another the woman would give a half nod of her head. "Unfortunately yes. Timberkit was one of Jewel's daughters I do believe." She'd learned a great many things about the members of Darkclan and she allowed a frown to pull across her muzzle, stretching that scar on her maw. "It's a strange coincidence and frankly we just don't know what to make of it yet. But like Birdwatcher said, Jewelpelt is strong and she may find a way to return to us as well as Timberkit.

  • "I have half-siblings?" He immediately spoke, disbelief at the edge of his tone. Perhaps family still was something Berylpaw could have... maybe... Though it was sad to hear that one of them had also been taken away with his mother, it didn't matter. He just- wanted to meet them.

"Can I meet them?" He would boldly ask, mostly prepared for a no but it was worth the risk. "I just want to know who my siblings are and then I'd be out of your fur."" He would try to add, how young were they? Did any of them look like him? Jewelpelt? How were they dealing with the loss?
