—— but at the same time she has no idea what's going on 98% of the time

—— has that wine aunt who's a really bad influence sort of vibe

  • 「 i'm from a little city — with expensive taste

✦ ✧ ✦  Originally, it hadn't been Marissa's idea to go to the music festival. The thought hadn't crossed her mind until her friends brought it up. Thus, it hadn't made much sense when those very people abandoned her to do their own things. Maybe they were off getting drinks? Having a random hook up with a stranger, or maybe even each other? Who knew, but regardless, they were completely out of sight. Not that Marissa could really see much past the darkness and other people's heads. Instead of bothering to text or call them, she had decided to tag along with a different group of individuals her age. After all, her phone was only at 8%, and she couldn't waste the little sliver of battery she had waiting for her friends to respond. Nor did she want to spend her time in solitude.

And that was why she was currently huddled in the crowd in front of a large stage. Music boomed loudly, along with the accompanied screams and shouts of many eager viewers. Marissa could barely hear her own thoughts over the sounds of the singer on stage. All she knew was that whatever this was, she didn't like it. The people she tagged along with... they were cool or whatever, but there was no way she was going to last another second listening to the repetitive song.

After letting out a loud sigh, she turned and attempted to make her way through the crowd, trying not to brush shoulders against the obnoxiously loud teenagers and adults gathered. It took a while, but she finally found herself out of the crowd. Her legs carried her further and further away, until the music faded into the background. Although the sounds fell much more quietly to her ears, she could still feel dull vibrations underfoot. However, this new state left her wondering. What would happen now? Would she actually go look for her friends, or wander aimlessly?

Her questions were quickly answered when she suddenly felt a heavy impact, soon followed by a cold liquid drenching onto her skin and soaking into her clothes. "Oh my god! I'm really sorry!" she heard a deep voice say. Instead of saying anything, all Marissa did was raise up a single thumb and shoot a smile before walking away. She didn't really have it in her to complain about some guy semi-ruining her clothing. With the cool air against her skin, Marissa could feel the liquid getting stickier as it dried. It was disgusting. Even so, she was still curious enough to raise her hand to her lips and take a little taste from one of the droplets. It was kind of like sprite, maybe? She wasn't quite certain, but she wanted it off.

It wasn't long before she found herself standing in front of a taller rectangular porta potty. Some of them had sinks, didn't they? Marissa reached her arm out and tried to open up the door, to no avail. She supposed it was occupied. A little huff escaped from her lips before she crossed her arm, only waiting for another minute or so before impatiently knocking against the door. Though, her attitude changed when she heard the sounds of retching, making her wince slightly. Well, at least there was someone out there having a little less fun than her at the moment. "Yo, are you okay? You've been in there for a while now." Her hand lowered down from the door. Even if Marissa was feeling gross, she didn't want to be a complete dick.

  • °•:` JAEHEE CHOI

//sorry that this took forever! edit: OMF i just looked at this and realized how bad it is ew this is what i get for doing it at 2am

─ jaehee loves her friends. really, she swears she does. she might even go as far to say that she would die for them. but right then, they were really testing her love for them.

somehow, a few months ago they thought that it was a good idea to buy tickets to a world-renowned music festival that would be only half an hour away from la. she had completely forgotten about it until her friend received an email reminding them a few hours before it started, and they rushed to get ready and get to the event as soon as possible.

but she really wasn’t sure what the point of rushing was, in the end. less than an hour into the first performance, she and her friends found a group of people with weed and alcohol on the very edge of the audience. from then on, she couldn’t help but take countless shots and take a few drags from a blunt being passed around.

her mind was hazy, but she could remember passing a porta-potty on her way towards the stage when they first arrived. she felt a pull in her stomach, throat burning as she felt vomit begin to creep up. she murmured some slurred words before stumbling in the general direction of where she remembered it to be, bumping into people and mumbling apologies. finally, she reached the stalls and jumped into the nearest unoccupied one.

as soon as she tottered inside, she emptied the contents of her stomach, remanents of smoke and hard liquor burning her throat as it came up. she could faintly hear knocking, not that she really cared. she coughed a few times after throwing up for what felt like forever. a loud groan erupted from her lips, crossing her arms and resting her arms against the seat tiredly. she did her best to ignore the smell for as long as possible, but gave up and stood. her head spun, hazy and dull a faint smile tugging at her lips as she saw her reflection in the mirror. yikes.

suddenly, she heard a voice calling through the door, making sure she was okay. was that her friends coming to find her? she opened the door a crack, only to see a complete stranger. damnit, how would she ever find them again? she frowned, before realizing she probably looked rude in front of the woman in front of her.

she checked her out, more openly than she might’ve when more clear-headed. she looked like some sort of supermodel, but seemed to be nearly half a foot shorter. she snorted to herself at this before drunkenly stumbling out and leaning against the porta-potty for balance.

”all good, don’t worry. you’re like, really pretty,” she commented with a grin, flicking a piece of dark hair out of her eyes, you should definitely date me,” she added, all of her natural tact completely out the window at this point.

  • 「 i'm from a little city — with expensive taste

[ if you think your post was bad, then i'm literally so sorry for everything you have to read from me djdkskejd ]

✦ ✧ ✦ There was the sound of the door gently rattling before it slowly opened up. In the crack that was made, Marissa couldn't quite see a person, but a pair of dark brown eyes gazing back at her. With the added silence, it was a little bit unnerving of a sight. All she could really do was blink back, and it was only then that a thought suddenly came to her. Well, shit. What if she was interrupting some crackhead's business? More importantly, a wasted crackhead's? The creeping feeling in the back of her mind only got stronger when she realized the person was quite obviously looking her up and down. Maybe speaking up hadn't been such a good idea... But then again, when did she ever come up with coherent ideas?

Unfortunately, it was too late to make a break for it, since the individual was already stepping out from behind the door. She had to tilt her head up slightly, as Marissa had to do with nearly everyone, to look at the figure of the woman in front of her. She had long locks of black hair, ending at about her mid-back, with bangs concealing her forehead. It looked quite silky to the touch – not that Marissa was creepy enough to do that right now. Underneath the makeup and glitter on her face, she could see the girl had defined facial features, and pretty ones at that. Any dreadful feeling she had in the back of her mind was completely thrown out within seconds, all because of the presence of some attractive girl. Really though, what could she say? Marissa was relentlessly gay, nor was she in the best state of mind at the moment.

Upon hearing the taller female's compliment, one of Marissa's eyebrows slowly quirked up. Did she really still look nice? After everything she did today, Marissa would've expected to be more of a mess than usual. In its own odd way, it was comforting to hear that. The corners of her lips tugged into a little smile, and her head tilted just slightly to the side as she gazed at her. "You're not looking too bad yourself." One of Marissa's hands went up towards her own dark hair, and she gently began to twirl one of the locks around her index finger. Of all places to flirt with someone at Coachella, she wasn't expecting in front of a porta-potty to be it. Not that Marissa was complaining.

A little chuckle soon escaped from her lips. Although there was a chance it might've just been the liquid courage speaking, Marissa couldn't help but appreciate the girl's blunt statements. She felt more entertained with the girl she spent ten seconds with than the festival itself, which was kind of depressing in regards to the festival. After all, Marissa had spent a considerable amount of money on a ticket, and yet, all she wanted to do was leave, get even more high, or find some alcohol. It wasn't like this was the only place she could do the latter two. "Is that a demand, or a request?" she asked, her tone teasing. "Because if I'm going to be honest... I'm getting a little bored here." After pausing for a brief moment, Marissa winked, as if that would help her get her message across better.

A few seconds passed before she remembered why she even came here in the first place. Although she didn't want to ruin the mood, there was no way she'd last another minute with how annoyingly sticky her hands were. Marissa let out a little huff of air before speaking. "You got a sink in there?" she asked since she was unable to check herself. At least, not without pushing the woman away.
