  • Hello internet peoples and thank you for checking out this little thread of mine! I hope you all have a lovely day!

  • I like her! Okay, so for the first part I'll be kind of like a narrator until my character is unleashed.

For a bit more info on the plot, I was thinking maybe the reason for your character finding the tomb was either it was hidden on some property that you had inherited, or you literally fell into it while out deep in a forest. Any thoughts?

  • ooc: Excellent! Onto the show then!

ic: It turned out that visiting family reunions had some benefits after all. The main one being the old colonial mansion that Carina had inherited. Her great aunt had passed away a few months back, and having no children of her own, her fortune and property were divided up amongst her nephews and nieces.

Whether Carina was the favorite niece or was just lucky enough to get the mansion isn't really important. Long story short, the young woman now had a 'new' mansion all for her own. It was in the classic plantation manor style, with large white pillars and a brick exterior. It had been well taken care of, as Great Aunty Wells used to have a little team of caretakers tending to it.

Carina was suddenly jolted out of her mild dosing when a hand shook her shoulder. With a groan she peeled her sweaty palm off of her face and turned her attention to the house she had arrived at. The house was certainly impressive, the most expensive thing Carina had ever owned by far. The girl grabbed her bag, pushing the strap over one shoulder, before she stepped out onto the gravel driveway.

"What are you even going to do with a house this big?" Carina turned to acknowledge the other person, her cousin Quinn who spoke as he exited from the driver's side. Quinn was the only one in her family who didn't immediately hate her for inheriting this apparently very important house. With a shrug, Carina walked up towards the house, stopping and turning on the porch to survey the land around her. She instantly noticed a rather dense forest that peaked her interest; she had always loved exploring. Quinn came to stand next to her and followed her line of vision to the trees. "Oh, man I remember that forest," he said, clearly referencing that he had been here before. "Great Auntie never let us go too far though, we had to play on the edge," he stated, making a hm sound as he reminisced the past. Carina felt a pang of jealously at that. Her parents barely let her come here as a kid as they always had something against her Great Aunt, but Carina still didn't know what.

An hour later, once Quinn had helped her bring all her bags in, she walked him back out to his car. "Well then Cos, I'll see you around." He stepped closer and gave her a quick side hug and he unlocked his car. "Maybe you should check out those woods, Great Auntie always said they hold secrets," he said ominously before he slid into the car and drove away leaving Carina standing alone on the gravel. She studied the forest and, for a reason she couldn't quite explain, she felt drawn to them, as if she was meant to go in there. Making up her mind, Carina quickly went inside to grab her coat and her phone before making her into the forest.

  • The forest around Carina's new home was fairly dense and undisturbed, only showing signs of any sort of animal life closer to the edges. However, once you had moved just a few feet into it all signs of life seemed to fade. No tracks or prints, no more birds flying and singing in the trees. The deeper one got the more the forest seemed to grow darker, with taller trees growing thicker and more frequent.

The sunlight that was filtered through the branches and leaves barely provided enough light to see the roots that lined the ground. However, there was suddenly a clearing deep in the forest. The clearing held a broken and burned down building, a building which almost resembled a gothic style chapel.

Nearly twenty minutes after Carina had entered the woods she came to a stop, carefully observing the gothic-looking chapel that was in the middle of a clearing. It wasn't the strangest thing she could have come across, and besides, it was the South, there were tons of random old chapels here. Carina sucked in a deep breath and ventured forward, pushing open the door. Everything was covered in layers of dust and grime, causing Carina to cough. She stepped in, her feet crunching broken glass while she covered her nose and mouth. A voice in the back of her head told her that something wasn't right with the place. Suddenly, she spotted what looked like an old doorway which she cautiously approached and opened. She noticed that there was a short stone staircase that lead downwards into a dimly lit room. Carina found it quite odd how there was a torch lit in a tomb-like room that no one had clearly been in for quite some time. Swallowing the fear rising in her throat, she walked into the room and say what looked to be a stone coffin of sorts. She blinked, took in a deep breath, and nervously approached it, her hand coming to rest upon the top. Feeling like she wasn't in control of her body, she pushed the top off and peered into it.

  • As the lid of the coffin slid off a strange, dark red mist flew up and knocked Carina back into the wall. The mist filled the room before disappearing, the flames of the torches matching the color of the mist as the room brightened. As a small bit of mist still flowed out of the coffin, a figure sat up and stretched. The demoness covered her mouth to hide a yawn as she slowly stood up from her stone prison. She stretched one final time and breathed a small sigh before her eyes snapped open. Her red gaze swept across the tomb before landing on Carina, a sinister smirk appearing on her face. "Well well well...it's so nice to wake up and see such a...delectable treat." She stepped out of the coffin, her voice seeming to echo in the small room. "I suppose my dear followers wanted me to be nice and pleasant after I woke up. Such nice dears they are."

  • ✧ //

Carina yelped in surprise as she was thrown against the wall, her vision swimming as she slumped against the cool stone. She blinked rapidly, her hand nursing the back of her skull, before her vision cleared and she was able to see who the voice belonged to. As soon as her brain registered the very much not human figure in front of her, her heart skipped a beat and her breath caught in near panic. She managed to scramble up onto her feet but she kept her back pressed hard against the wall.

"Who...who are you? What are you?" She said nervously, her voice quivering. She didn't want to show the other female how scared she was, but it was kind of hard considering the situation. Oh god, Carina thought, I was not prepared to actually face the supernatural today. "And what do you mean followers?" She continued, confused by the statement.

  • The demoness giggled, licking her lips and taking a few steps closer to Carina as she spoke. It had been...however long she had been asleep, since she had been near another creature. Maybe she'd toy with this little offering for awhile. "Oh you poor thing, you must've just been grabbed off the street hm? Well, since you asked so nicely, my name is Saldria; mistress of all that you see around you." She smiled, showing off her sharp teeth as she took another step forward.

"My followers, well you could also call them cultists, have brought you here to brighten my mood. Sometimes I can be dreadfully angry once I've been woken up, I almost devoured my whole following the last time!" She laughed for a moment, it was fairly sweet but her voice gave it a dangerous undertone. "And I hate to say that I'm going to eat you. Oh, not in the pleasurable way either, sorry if I got your hopes up darling."

  • ✧ //

Carina could only stare at Saldria with wide eyes, her hearting beating loudly. How was she supposed to know what to say or do? The girl glanced at the stairs leading out of the room, trying to determine how fast she could run out of their. She frowned as she turned her attention back to the other female, swallowing dryly. "Cultists? You ate them," she clenched her hands into fists, "you're going to eat me?" She squeaked, ignoring the sexual innuendo. Oh no you don't lady, she thought angrily to herself, I did not come all this way just to get eaten. "How about you don't do that?" She asked lamely as she glanced at the stairs again.

  • "You catch on quick, I like that." Saldria raised an eyebrow at Carina's offer and smirked as she cupped her chin in interest. "Now what possible reason would I have for not eating you? You're cute darling, but you're not that cute. Besides, I have to address my followers so let's get this over with shall we?" Her eyes shone with a predatory glint as she strode towards Carina, although she had no real speed in her movements. She wanted to make this last, she needed a good meal.

  • ✧ //

Carina's eyes widened and she gasped in a breath. Her brain was in panic mode and she couldn't think of a way she could convince the other to let her go. Still, through her clouded thoughts, she managed to decide to just get the hell out of there. Before Saldria could even get halfway across the room, Carina darted up the stairs and through the messy church as fast as she could without tripping.

  • Saldria smirked as she watched Carina run up the stairs, a small sigh leaving her as she moved to follow her. The smirk left her face the moment that she laid eyes on the ruined building however, her left eye twitching in reaction. Her pride and joy, her chapel, was absolutely ruined! Her cultists were nowhere to be seen and everything was destroyed. The only person that she could sense was...that girl. The demoness turned her gaze to the forest as Carina disappeared into it, a scowl present on her face as she ran after the human.

  • ✧ //

Carina ran as fast as she should could, the fear pushing her to keep running. However, she wasn't the most athletic person ever and the forest floor was difficult to maneuver when she wasn't looking. She stopped for a moment to catch her breath, throwing herself behind a thick tree. It wasn't long, however, before she heard footsteps in the distance and she cursed.

  • Saldria hardly spared a second to the forest around her as she made her way through it. She paid just enough attention to be able to maneuver as she ran, but her main goal was Carina. That human was the only one around and thus the only one that could explain what was happening. She smirked as she saw her prey up ahead, narrowing her gaze as she moved. "Just hold still darling and make this easier on the both of us."

  • ✧ //

Carina heard the creature get closer and she sucked in a breath, glancing around the forest to find the quickest way out. If she could just get to where she had a signal on her phone then maybe she could call Quinn. "I don't think I want to stick around for you to eat me!" Carina retorted to Saldria.

  • "Oh you'll be lucky if that's all I do to you." Saldria spoke with a small growl, all the subtleties and sweetness having been ripped from her voice as she ran. She was angry, confused, and Carina was going to be the one that solved all of those problems. Regardless of whether she wanted to or not. "Just stop running!"

  • ✧ //

Carina considered the options. 1. Go back to the house to hide and then get eaten by the woman. 2. Stop running and get eaten by the woman. Oh god, she thought miserably, I'm going to die either way. Making up her mind, she skidded to a stop and turned defiantly to the woman.
