  • tags ✦ ✧ ✦ In the time since he'd returned to BloodClan, Tam's family had grown in leaps and bounds. Although most of his littermates had faded into the sidelines, making their own way in the world, they'd been replaced by a new litter. Younger siblings, cats he was still struggling to accept. His mother's nieces and nephews had joined BloodClan not long after his own return, adding new names for Tam to remember. He was starting to grow close to them, to integrate them into his family circle. Yet even now, he couldn't rest: new relatives joined daily. His older half-brother Baxton's children were putting in an appearance, nearly his own age despite the fact that they were a generation removed from him.

Did he like having all this family? Tam wasn't sure. The ivory feline had been born as the eldest of a litter of nine, but only two others remained. Artemis and Deerpaw. He'd give anything for them, and he was sure that they would do the same for him. He didn't know what had happened to the others, but it wouldn't surprise him if the Evil had killed them as a result of his misbehavior—and more family meant more cats for the Evil to hold against him, should it ever get its paws on him again. Yet, he couldn't help but be happy that his family had expanded. He'd seen the way Jailbird's eyes shone with each new arrival, and he couldn't deny his mother that joy. She deserved all the happiness in the world, and if swallowing his fear and accepting these strangers would bring her comfort, Tam would do it in a heartbeat.

It was early evening now, the sky outside growing dimmer as the sun dropped closer to the horizon. The message had gone around earlier that they'd be enjoying some family time later, allowing everyone to relax in each other's company and meet relatives who they barely knew. Tam didn't know whose idea the meeting was, but he could guess.

When he'd arrived at Jailbird's room, where he still slept and which had become a center for family activity, a small pile of prey had already been gathered into one corner. Rugs and throws littered the room, making it a comfortable place for an evening of relaxation and bonding.

  • It had taken days of preparation. But here, finally, it was done. A crown of pale white, permeated by rushing tendrils of black, rose above the growing, consuming of the afternoon duskiness; the sunset was flowering over heavy clouds that plodded unwillingly on their floating trek. The tufted auricles that shook once before settling into their lifted position of mighty antlers, were a stark and ragged bruised blue. They rested in the possession of the colossus, a giant beast of untamable sea, who’s giant, pencil colored paws carried it’s heavy bulk along to elegant landscape, gray painted daintily with hues of tangerine, lavender, and flesh.

The scenery awash with golden beauty cascaded down the queen’s spine alighting her with blue flames as she fiddled anxiously at the throw pillows tossed lazily across the lawn. Grasping one tasseled green one she quickly scooted it a smidgen before stepping back satisfied. A bright smile over came her leathery maw as she trotted to the giant open window and tossed the curtains aside revealing move light which bathed the room, flooding it with colors of beauty.

Columbine eyes darting about excitedly she danced on feather light feet before scooting the door open wider so it was more accessible. She her gaze darted about the hall from her room she wondered who would join her. She was curious if her sibling CALEDON. or his mate WASPWING. would have the time to join the festivities due to his active leadership and her place as healer. Bobbed tail bouncing she spotted the first step into the room and delighted bounded over to greet her son. Wrapping him in a gleeful hug she laughed, his fluffy pale fur collecting in her mouth making her giggle harder. Gosh she was so excited. She’d planned this for what seemed like forever.

Tam dear! ” Her loud boisterous voice echoed across the halls as she spoke. She sure hoped no one complained in the night of the party. “ I’m so glad you could come, quick her sit down. ” gesturing to a thick blanket set off to the side she continued, “ I’ve collected some prey if you’re hungry.

  • There wasn't a doubt in her mind that the love she held for her family was something far bigger than herself. Her family was limited to Jailbird, Tam and Artemis however. Had the news of her half-siblings created by Luna and her father turned public, she would blatantly refuse them. Although her heart was innocent, delicately so she was but a mere mortal and spite would make itself at home within it if she came to know about them. Alas she wasn't aware of them. As if on queue, Deerpaw arrived as usual within Tam's shadow, the much larger maine coon dwarfing his youngest and frailest sister. "Momma!" The girl cried cheerfully, peaking from her usual shy and meek demeanor around those she was completely comfortable around. Lunging at her beautiful mother, the fawn small molly burying her features into Jailbird's thick fur.

  • DeWitt had yet again fallen into a state of overexertion and exhaustion. His ashen colored paws dragged themselves across the wood grain floor of the blood house as he heard the cry of his aunt. DeWitt wasn't someone who enjoyed family time, and he usually didn't consider other people's feelings or happiness, but to hear the cry of joy coming from Jailbird made a wave of relief wash over his cold, apathetic heart. Jailbird deserved only the best in his eyes. She was, while a bit irritable, a wonderful woman who he enjoyed the company of whenever he was able to experience it.

Head tilted to the side as his mismatched orbs seemed a bit bloodshot from his overworking himself and never giving time to rest. As he followed silently with stumbling footsteps he entered the room after his cousin, Deerpaw. A sweet little thing that as much as Dewitt hated it, he would protect her with his life. It was so rare to see something as innocent and pure as her within the blood house and Dewitt was determined to protect that sweet naivety. Dewitt couldn't seem to help the contagious flood of enjoyment as he stepped into the room silently. He watched with amused, but slightly forlorn eyes as Tam and Deerpaw cuddled against their mother. Unfortunate that his mother was gone, long gone.

Nonetheless, he forced a rare smile, or it was what he thought was a smile. It looked dopey and unexperienced and a tad creepy as he smiled so very rarely. Stepping off to the side he plopped down lazily onto a loose pillow and curled into himself. "Hope you three don't mind if I take a nap," he murmured softly. It wasn't something that DeWitt liked to admit to but he much preferred sleeping in the presence of family than his usual lonely nest where he slept.

  • tags ✦ ✧ ✦ Tam had barely stepped past the threshold before the blue-silver figure of his mother engulfed him. Despite squirming slightly, he didn't resist the hug. Unlike others his age, he craved physical touch and the knowledge that he still, miraculously, had his family. They hadn't been tortured and killed, as the Evil had told him, and any reminder of that was a comfort he wanted.

"Hi," he responded once Jailbird had stepped back, allowing him to breath in deeply and replenish the oxygen it felt like her tight grip had expelled from his lungs. Gaze wandering around the room, he commented, "You outdid yourself." If only Sheogorath was here to see—but he wasn't going to allow the joy of this gathering to turn to ashes in his mouth. Sheo would be there in spirit, even if he couldn't be in body.

He grinned as Deerpaw tackled their mother, soft fawn coat pressing against Jailbird's spotted pelt. He liked this Deerpaw, this animated version of his sister. If only she could show it more often. He'd never understand her tendency toward solitude as a child; it was only now, made jumpy by the lingering reminder of the Evil, that he felt as though he understood her.

Tam had started to poke at the pile of prey when DeWitt stumbled into the room. He didn't hear his older cousin's footfalls or soft murmur, but once he spotted the other cat curling up on a pillow, he could guess at what he must have said. Abandoning his attempts to find the perfect snack, Tam cried, "Dewey! You're going to sleep now, when everyone's coming?"

  • A cinnamon and cream body wiggled into the scene. She was scrawny with a long neck and legs, though, her tail was rather short. It wasnt a bobtail, but wasnt a medium length tail either. This was Bird. A young niece of Jailbird. Bird. funny huh? Anyways, her colored eyes looked across at the gathered family. She was nervous... She was not used to meeting so many cats at once! However... They're family... Family is all that matteres... Taking in a shaky breath, the shy girl took another paw step closer to get a load at the murderous family she was born into.

    "speech."
