  • tags ✦ ✧ ✦ Except for when there were others to keep him safe, Tam had spent the last few days locked in the Blood House. The familiar walls were at the point of driving him insane, but the ivory boy refused to leave their security, terrified that if he wandered the streets alone, the monster who had stolen him before would return and kidnap him again. It had taken Tam moons to escape the evil; now that he was home, he didn't want to risk it finding him again.

The only problem with his plan was that he was going stir crazy. Cabin fever had set in hours ago, and after tearing his claws uselessly against an old armchair, it occurred to him that he'd be safe in a group. The Blood House was only secure because of all the cats within it. If he could somehow assemble a group of clanmates to go outdoors with, he'd be safe. But how wound he convince them to join him?

Springing up, the broadly built tom called, "Who wants to patrol with me?"

  • Much like Tamarind, Deerpaw too spent her days within the Bloodhouse. Unlike her kin however, she found security and peace within the scarlet walls and was actually rather fond of them. Far too timid and softhearted, the small fawn colored molly could be found regularly in solitude collecting herbs and muttering to herself about how scary that sewer rat was.

The call of her brother caused her velvety soft ears to pivot in his direction, soothing her nerves slightly about going beyond the Bloodhouse. Silently and sheepishly, Deerpaw arose to dainty mittens and made her way to the far larger tom. She pressed her side to him out of instinct and finally mustered enough courage to speak, "Can can I g-go with you, Tam?" Of course she would be no help, but it'd be the perfect opportunity to search for more herbs.

  • Ethel had only known the Blood-house. She loved it, of course, but she also wasn't scared to leave. The outside had terrors like dogs, which scared her immensely, but... she couldn't stay inside all day. She was a guard now. She had to be brave and strong, not only for herself but for everyone. So when she heard the call of Tam, asking for members to go on a patrol, she got up on her paws and headed over to the tom and his sister.

She'd always been under the impression that Tamarind was timid and didn't like going outside, but that didn't seem to be the case now. When Chai-tea had joined, he had stuck close to Jailbird, and now he seemed more confident. "I'd like to join you two," she meowed with a small smile.

  • PRINCE PHANTOM

    JUST A PSYCHO LITTLE BOY

"Count me in too, I haven't anything to do today." Phantom mewed, his sleek form leaping off the windowsill. His massive paws carried him to the growing group of cats as he took up a spot beside Ethel. He figured the other two were newcomers as they were hardly familiar to him but then again he had been spending most of his time in the Greenhouse with Fern after her recent injury.

  • ✦ ✧ ✦ art had stayed close to her brother for the first few days that he'd been back. he'd followed her while she was doing her tasks, and she didn't mind. so when he called for a patrol, her ears flicked at the sound. immediately her sister padded over, along with ethel. phan padded over next, and it struck misa that he'd never met tam before.

he didn't know tam, didn't know his older brother. perhaps he knew deerpaw, as she'd stayed in bloodclan along with artemis, but by the way he was behaving, it was unlikely.

soft paws slid quietly over the floor as she stalked over to join her siblings and ethel. she'd have to make introductions, she supposed. "i'll come, tam." she told the boy, blinking golden orbs at him.

"phan, ethel, i don't think you've met tamarind yet." turning to her little brother and (unknowingly) her half sister, she tipped her head. "tam is my littermate. so is deerpaw here. tam, this is phantom and ethel. phan is your younger brother."

"If this patrol is turning into a family reunion, then i'm sorry for intruding." The soothing coo of Zenaida would sound as the long furred goddess would saunter up, sliding in between both Phantom and Artemis. She would smile affectionately at Artemis before turning to Tam, "My name is Zenaida, sweetheart. It's a pleasure to meet you even if I can't join in on this little outing." Her scent of catmint would make her seem welcoming and warm, and her emerald optics would blink slowly, inviting, at the cats gathered in the space.

  • Ruth appeared behind Zenaida, approaching the little family reunion that did seem to be occurring. She always found it odd to be in the middle of a group of relatives considering besides her own littermates, she had no family in BloodClan. Those related to Sheogorath and Jailbird has all sorts of relatives, but for Ruth it was just herself and those of her siblings that remained in BloodClan.

Regardless, she padded over because not even a moment of discomfort could deter her from the chance to patrol. Now fully recovered from her light bout of whitecough, she was ready to be out and about on normal duties once again. This was a good place to start. “I’ll tag along,” Ruth said with a flick of her bobbed tail, looking as bright-eyed and bushy-tailed as ever.

  • Should he bother? Really, he had the idea to pass up the little gathering for his own mentality sake but at the same time he had not been doing much in his recent days here. Bloodclan seemed drab and a rough sigh left his throat as he stood there, hulking mass of flames and dying embers searching over the gathered individuals. It was strange here and he had to say that he was too sure of his place here. Among the too youthful and there was hardly any that were inbetween. His gaze flicked over to one female tilting his head at her words before he allowed a rough huff of air to pass forth from partly open jaws. Whatever, he could do with a walk and it wouldn't kill him to interact a bit. If it did he would be sure to take something, or someone with him. The overgrown mass of muscles and deep red fur moved forward with a purpose in mind and he allowed himself to slither within the confines of this group of individuals with not much of a word as to what he was doing. "I'll join. Just going to take up the rear here."

DeWitt to be entirely honest wasn't greatly interested in socializing. But that's not what this was. This was a patrol, a natural way to keep Bloodclan's territory in perfect order. A job that he appreciated more than anything. To say he was a bit of a perfectionist wasn't entirely wrong. Hence the reason he counted his steps and each time he inhaled and exhaled he synced his movements with them. It was an odd habit but it was one he and possibly many other perfectionists could appreciate. Not only did it help keep his mind clear of any muddled thoughts but it kept the young man silent in any situation. There was a reason he was such a brilliant hunter.

On graceful ebony paws the lithe man approached the group of his clanmates, speaking about something. He, naturally, wasn't certain till he was within earshot. Without giving it any consideration he nodded. He did enjoy patrols as explained above. "I'll come as well," he spoke in his usual cool, empty tone giving them all a simple, but respectful dip of his head. Glancing over at Wildseas he would twitch his ear, an implication that he would hang back with him at the rear as to avoid too much confrontation with his clanmates.

  • tags ✦ ✧ ✦ The press of fur against his body alerted Tam to the presence of another. Instinctively inhaling, he drew in Deerpaw's scent, turning his face toward his sister mere heartbeats before she began speaking. Her voice, soft and hesitant, seemed muted in his ears, but with no background noise to disturb his concentration, he found that he was able to make out the gist of her question. A smile tugged at his maw, the sensation foreign after all this time, as he bobbed his head in agreement. Deerpaw wouldn't be able to keep him safe, but he couldn't deny her.

Luckily for his peace of mind, others were quick to approach. Ethel was starting to grow familiar, and although he knew that his mother disliked her, Tam couldn't understand why. She seemed nice enough to him, although her form lacked the strength that he craved. Phantom was next, his words loud enough to draw Tam's attention. Phan had the same bobtail that Jailbird possessed: could he have some ties to Tam's mother?

Artemis was quick to explain the connection. The boy's expression cleared as she approached and reaching out, he aimed to gently bop her in greeting. Artemis had warned him that he had new siblings, and examining Phantom with the knowledge that they were family, he at once saw the resemblance that he'd glossed over before. "Oh," was all he said, a shadow passing over his yellow eyes. A new sibling—someone for the evil to hold against him. Despite himself, he shivered.

Once Zenaida, Ruth, Wildseas, and DeWitt had assembled, he breathed a small sigh of relief. With his focus inward, he hadn't heard Zen's warning that she couldn't join them, and assumed that the long furred molly would participate in the patrol. Although he hadn't heard her words, her tone had a pleasant lilt to it, and he found himself craving her company.

Ruth was a more familiar face, although she'd grown since he last saw her. Wildseas and DeWitt were both older and stronger, able to provide the security that he needed. Facing the assembled cats, Tam explained, "I was going to patrol near ThunderClan." His moons away had robbed him of his confidence, and he half assumed that someone was going to argue the point and direct them elsewhere.

Since Tam did not oppose her joining, the long furred dilute would assume that meant she was welcome to join their group. She would tilt her head in thought as Tam explained the patrol plans, and an exciting light brightened up her lush green eyes, "That sounds like an interesting idea, those forest clans have been seeing a bit too much kindness from us lately." She would brush her tail against Ruths' side, a sign that she meant to ill will with her statement. Her feather tail would then flick in another sign of her excitement.

  • "Gotta teach 'em a lesson, huh?" Revolution's voice joined the gathering patrol as he joined them. He didn't need to ask permission. He didn't want to ask permission. He was joining this patrol whether they liked it or not. Hell, he barely knew this kid. "Maybe we could find some easy prey there." It would be nice to get some ThunderClan blood on these claws.

  • When Artemis showed up and introduced her to Tam and Deerpaw, Ethel realized that she didn't quite know their names. She'd seen Tamarind hugging Jail's side before, but never got his name. She gave him a shy smile. It seemed like every day that Jailbird's family got bigger. She barely even remembered that Phantom and Artemis were siblings.

Hearing Tam declare that he wanted to patrol near ThunderClan piqued her interest. She absolutely hated those forest cats out of all of the clan cats. ThunderClan had to be the worst. They'd been the reason why Slowhand turned his back on them. Maybe it was petty of her, but she couldn't let it go. "Indeed. Let's see if we can find some prey," she said quietly in response to Rev, eyes narrowing at the thought of the forest cats. Ethel wasn't normally the type to be eager for fighting, but she was a BloodClan cat and one of Caledon's guards. She could fight, and she would teach ThunderClan a lesson about coming near her family.

  • tags ✦ ✧ ✦ "Kindness from us?" Tam blinked at Zenadia, confused. He couldn't recall any 'kindness' they'd done for ThunderClan, but he hadn't paid much attention to politics since returning. How out of the loop was he? He'd always been an isolationist, and the idea of helping one of the other clans set his teeth on edge. Why would they need to do that? He understood helping their own, but they owed ThunderClan nothing. They owed no one anything, and it was silly to help a group that they had no bond with. Of course, BloodClan was also pretty lenient about letting just about anyone in; his gaze found Wildseas, who he seemed to recall hearing had once been WindClanner. If Tam had been around when he'd joined, he would have opposed allowing him into the group. As it was, he had to accept that Wildseas had been lifted past his beginnings.

"Maybe there will be prey," he agreed. Taking a deep breath and glancing at his sisters, he turned and started to pick his way away from the Blood House, hoping that they'd fall into place beside him, making him more comfortable.
