  • Angeles nodded his head, gesturing for Zach to follow him and leading him out into the palace's hallways, biting his bottom lip - and cutting it - as he made sure to be extra careful they weren't going to bump into anyone. Albion and his advisers might be looking for him, they needed to make sure to not go straight into their path. "Follow me," he whispered, beginning to walk down the hall.

  • Zach stuck close to Angeles. He was trying to make himself cry to make it more believable. Zach thought about what it would be like when Memphis actually did die and he actually started crying. This dog was his world.

  • They did manage to make it out of the castle and Angeles stepped closer to Zach as they went outside, slowly wrapping an arm around Zach's shoulders and taking a deep breath. "Just act cool, keep crying. Don't make it too dramatic, though. Less attention the better." he murmured to him softly, staring at the ground as they walked towards the exit of the village.

  • Zach nodded. He cried softly some. He stuck close to Angeles. He tried to calm himself down and stay quiet at the same time. Memphis opened her eye closest to Zach to check on him. She quickly shut it to not get in trouble.

  • They made it out into the trees outside of the village, Angeles waiting until they were a little way's away until he gave Zach a little bit of an elbow so he could tell him what to do. "You can put Memphis down if you want now." he murmured. They were far away enough from the village, they didn't really need to worry about it now.

  • Zach nodded and put her down on th ground. “You did so good, girly.” He praised Memphis. Memphis wagged her tail in joy as Zach started to pet her. “Okay, let’s keep going.” He said and Memphis walked beside them.

  • Nodding his head and glancing over at Zach a bit anxiously, Angeles slowly reached a hand over to try and lace their fingers together, feeling a little awkward and nervous now. He hadn't left the village in a while, and to think that he might not ever go back .. he didn't know if he felt relieved or guilty about it. "How far is it to your place?" he asked softly, checking behind them.

  • Zach took off his mask and pushed it back into his pocket. He was done with that thing. He looked at their hands as Angeles held his hand. He smiled a bit and looked at Angeles. He tilted his head a bit to show interest in the question. “Don’t stress about it. My apartment’s kinda far from the village and my friends even live farther away.” He said and gave him a reassuring smile.

  • Angeles was glad that Zach didn't ask about his sudden hand-holding, he didn't know if he could respond to anything regarding that without getting awkward and embarrassed. "How long will it be until we get to the apartment, though?" he asked quickly, almost jumping as he heard something behind them. Yeah, maybe he was being skittish, but right now Angeles didn't really care much.

  • Zach shrugged. “About eight to ten minutes.” He answered. ”We can get a car if that’s too long of a walk.” He suggested. He still couldn’t believe he was away from the villiage. it seemed like he would never be able to leave.

  • Eight to ten minutes. "I don't want you to pay for a car." he mumbled. That was another thing: Angeles had absolutely nothing right now. Oh God, was he making the right choice by coming with Zach? But he'd promised to come along, he couldn't just ditch him. "We can just walk. Quickly."

  • Zach nodded and picked up his pace some. Memphis stayed beside them. Zach thought about it a bit. “You know what, we can call my friend. She should be off work today, and she can come pick us up. Sound good?” He asked.

  • Angeles pursed his lips a little nervously, swallowing thickly as he thought about it for a second. "Um, yeah .. we can do that." he told Zach, glancing down towards the ground and shifting from foot to foot with an anxious air about him.

  • Zach held both his hands and stood in front of him, hoping to get his attention. “Hey, it’s okay.” He said. “If anyone tried to hurt you, they’ll have to go through me and Memphis first. Okay?” He said and smiled at him. He wanted to do his best to cheer him up. “I’ll keep you safe, I promise.”

  • Angeles raised his head and looked into Zach's eyes as he spoke, promising to keep Angeles safe. In all of his ninety-six years, Angeles felt that this was close to the top of 'most anxious' or 'most fearful' moments list that he kept in his brain. Top two were, of course, the deaths of his parents. He slowly returned the smile that Zach gave him, nodding his head. "Thank you, Zach." he said softly, feeling grateful to the human.

  • Zach smiled at him. He called his friend and told her where they were. He mentioned he had a friend with him though and he'd explain the whole thing later. He was happy to see his friend again. "Cassidy's gonna love you. She's the sweetest person in the world." He said.

  • Angeles nodded his head as Zach told him that Cassidy would love him, explaining that she was the sweetest person in the world. "Cassidy." he said, trying out the name on his tongue. The names in the village were all a little different than the human names, he noticed. Well, the normal human names, anyway. "I hope she gets here soon," he then murmured, glancing behind him.

  • Zach gently moved Angeles' face to not look at the forest. "Don't worry. I got you covered, I promise. I'll watch for you." He said. After a bit, Cassidy pulled up in her car. She unlocked the doors and Zach got in with Angeles in the back. "Hey, Cass." He greeted. Cassidy smiled at them. "Hey, how's it going?"

  • Angeles nodded his head a little when Zach made sure he wasn't looking behind them, the vampire fiddling with the fabric of his robes. "Thank you." he murmured, swallowing thickly as he continued willing himself to continue staring straight ahead. He followed Zach as the other got into Cass' backseat, sitting down uncomfortably and watching Cassidy warily. "H-Hi," he mumbled in greeting, looking downwards.

  • Zach held Angeles’ hand to try and keep him calm. Cassidy smiled at Angeles in her mirror as she drove. “Hey.” He she responded and looked at Zach. “Is this your date from yesterday?” She asked. Zach laughed a bit. “It’s complicated.” He said. Zach looked at Angeles. “Can I tell her?” He asked. Zach wasn’t sure is Angeles was okay with her knowing or not. Cassidy looked back at Angeles in her mirror again. “My lips are sealed, sweetie.” She said. Cassidy was from the south so she called everyone “honey, sweetie, sweetheart” etc.
