  • It had been a mild winter, as winters went in the timeless place they called home, and there had been no threats to the queen. Harp assumed that other countries and nobles didn't see her as a threat yet, or not enough of a threat to risk infiltrating the grand palace itself. A few of the other suitors had arrived in that time, and while Harper didn't see anything too terrible in them, she couldn't figure out how they could be beneficial to the country if they became king; they weren't especially clever that she could tell, she hadn't seen any of them fight and she doubted that she ever would.

The research was left mostly to Zania, as Harper had admitted her lack of skill at reading. She took her time with reading the clear printed letters on noticeboards, there was no way she could read all of this fancy squiggly handwriting. Numbers were clear enough, though, so she could make sense of the co-ordinates her friend showed her. "There must be a map somewhere around here..." she said, more to herself than anything, before she leapt into action to find a map she had seen earlier. Upon locating it, she brought the map back to the desk, and laid it on the table. "Is it in any order, or should I just mark them all out on the map?" she asked, a pencil in hand to mark the locations they would need to search.

  • Zania gripped the book and went over to the map "Mark them all out and we can see if theres any correlation"She had been trying, slowly to help Harper read. It was all very secretive since she knew the advisers would believe that she was an improper Queen. She saw all the circles and hummed "It seems like theres three possible places.."She bit her lip as she thought over it "If I was father, he had a bad leg..it was infected from surgery... So that mountain range far north is out of the question."She crossed it out before looking at the other two "If it was weather wise...I don't believe he would go to the sandpits."She smiled "So that leaves us with Eastern forest.."Just then there was a knock at the door. "Prince Xavier requires an audience with you. He says its of great importance."

Zanias smiled dropped "Oh..um yes Ill be there right away"She told the staff and looked at Harper "This rather dents our plans.."She sighed "I gave him the test, I looked at all other suitors..None of them even care for me. Except Xavier.."She had started to fall for his charms slightly. "But we must go..before that I need your thoughts on this..?"

  • ( I know you're also in the UK, so happy christmas eve!! even if it's early morning, it's still the 24th! & i know I would forget to say it later. )

The forest... Harper had never been there, but by the look of the map, it didn't seem to be an extreme place like the sandpits. She was about to ask when they would be leaving when the servant interrupted. Damn, their plan hadn't staved him off for long enough! The soldier assumed that the prince was back triumphant, as she didn't believe he was the type to back down from any challenge. Harp wasn't entirely sure he cared as much as he seemed to. Something was off about him, but she had no proof, or any idea what exactly was wrong about him, so she wouldn't voice her concern. She didn't want to ruin something that might make the queen happy because of her own paranoia.

"Just let me know when we leave. I, uh, I have a gift for you before we do." she replied. The sword that she promised had finally been made, and Harp was just waiting for the right time to give it to her. No time would be better than when Zania was going to need it!

  • Oh thats so sweet, yes Merry Christmas eve!)

Zania nodded before smiling "Awfully kind of you, now lets face this.."She walked out with her. She was trying to keep calm and composed before she walked into her throne room and sat down at her place. The doors opened and Xavier walked in and a cage was carried in behind him. "Your highness"He bowed "I have captured the red squirrel that you sppoke of"He let his servant place the cage beside him. Zania peered in and forced a smile "Thank you Prince Xavier. It is very pleasing to me that you managed to do so.."She hummed and Xavier grinned, he was a bit scarred as he had been in some combat before. "Well, I am very glad."He went on one knee "For my prrof to you that I am serious and I would like to ask, for your hand in marriage"He had a servant open his ring box and it was a blood diamond ring. Zania glanced around the room and noticed how happy her advisers seemed. "I will accept.."She managed and sort of blushed.

He slipped the ring on her finger and smiled "Great..I will send for my things from my homeland, and we shall plan things for a weeks time.."He promised. Zania was rather shocked "Oh yes well there is time, no need to rush."She replied and he sensed she was uneasy so he was quick on his feet "Two weeks then, we shall date and get to know each other. Ill see you tonight after dinner my love."He walked out. Zania stood up and bit her lip "I need..Ill be outside.."She was flustered and had to go outside to the grounds.

  • Harper's guess was right, he had returned with the squirrel and as any suitor would, wanted to get married as soon as possible. Which had appeared to scare the queen off a little. She followed Zania out to the grounds, not sure if the queen wanted to speak about it at all. It would certainly throw a spanner in the works in regards to their plans.

(hella low muse post, sorry about that! )

  • Zania looked out at the darkness and sighed gently as she thought about being with someone so quickly. She couldn't bare it. "I don't wish to be stuck here."She sighed "But it seems like I have no chouce.."

  • Harper didn't like this defeatist attitude one bit. It was likely her family's outlook on things that lead her to speak before she had fully thought about what the consequences of opening her mouth were, because she wasn't one to look very far ahead. "Of course you have a choice. You could leave anyway, you have two weeks at least, and once you're gone they can hardly force you back. The advisors would have enough sense to keep the country running in the time that you were gone." she said, afraid that the queen might be giving up on the plans they had made too soon. Harper knew her way around the common people, and she knew that using that knowledge, she might get them out of the castle and the city undetected should they need to.

  • Sorry! I got rather drunk over christmas and then ate a bad potato..long story short don't eat green potatoes even when you removed all the sprouts..but im back!)

"If I left this place my kingdom would look weak!"She snapped at the girl "I..Im Im fucked.."She murmured not one for swearing but she decided it was allowed this once. "I apologise.."She rubbed her face and sat down at the same steps they met at on that sorrowful night. "I wish..I wish I could just be who I wished to be.."She bit her lip and shook her head "I wish I could be free and marry whichever woman I love and just adopt babies.."She shook her head "Instead..a charming Russian who is after my wealth and womb is there..and Im engaged to him.."She had to stand up again just to keep herself calm. "Im sorry for this rant..but its so unfair!"This was the only time she had shown proper emotiones.

  • ( so sorry, but I have a lot of threads going on right now & doing that along with school work leaves me not really able to pick up new threads or revisit old ones that i lost. unless you don't mind really short posts? tbh i'm hesitant to do that though because it might impact my muse in other threads? )
