  • ( Ah yeah, I'm trying to get all of the work I need to do done before Christmas, so then I can chill over the break. But I have 450 pages to read on Tokugawa and Meiji Japan & 300 pages on European influence in China. I love history but damn... There's so much reading... T-T )

    Beatrix 'Bea' O'Connor / 17 / Ravenclaw.

Well, it seemed like they had a good group here, that was encouraging! Bea had already read the first couple of chapters, and had an idea of what she wanted to do with the project. Of course, she would just be suggesting things right now, there was no need for her to be overbearing with her opinions! "I think we should try a draught of peace. It's got pretty simple ingredients, but they need to be prepared and added very specifically to get the right potion. If we can pull it off, it could be useful, and it's one of the more advanced potions for this year so it would get a better grade if we can do it well." she explained, flipping to the page in her textbook with the folded corner and turning the book so that the others could see what she was talking about.

    Matthias 'Matt' Holgerson / 17 / Slytherin.

It looked like he had got the worst grade out of the lot of them and he wasn't about to get away with not saying it. "I got an Acceptable." he admitted, normally that wouldn't mean that he would get into NEWT-level studies in the subject, but his family connections were good for something apparently. His mother had a word with the teacher, and he promised to re-sit the OWL test this year, and so here he was. He was more than willing to let the others decide what potion they should do; likely he wouldn't be much help in the actual making of the potion, but he could read up on the theory and do most of the written part of the project - that sounded like a fair trade-off, right?

  • wow thats a crap ton! don't stress about replying, you reply when you can c:!

Daniel looked to the page shown to them, reading over the potion's details. "This looks pretty nice. I'm down." The blonde said, a small smile at hand. The group turned out to have a good set of heads, this relieved the blonde, as well as made him happy. " Okay, when do y'all want to meet up?" He asked as he looked up from the page, his mind going over each ingredient, thinking about the effects each had on the other. Damn, this was gonna be fun.

Chris looked over the potion, "Draught of Peace... Looks good to me." She said as she looked to the redhead. "I'm free anytime," Chris said as she sat up in her chair. The girl looked over the side effects of the potions, or ways it could go wrong. If they messed up one thing they could put someone in a coma. " You don't think she's gonna make us use this on someone?" She asked them.

  • ( Yeah, I mean... I'm in uni so what did I expect? I'm just glad that I actually like the subject. I wouldn't be able to read it all otherwise! In other news, people actually play the best version of quidditch that they can without brooms? Someone tried it on a bicycle & it's called Muggle Quidditch? This is hilarious to me????? )

    Beatrix 'Bea' O'Connor / 17 / Ravenclaw.

"She shouldn't... They have ways to test things without having someone drink it, I think. Don't know what the test is for this, though." Bea replied, placing the book back on the desk after showing it to the others. She knew just the place they could go for doing this! "I'm free... Most of the time." she said, which she realised sounded very ominous but she didn't have what many would call a routine, the inspiration for hilarious shenanigans could strike at any moment! So it was best to leave her schedule free. "I have a place we could use. An old potions class on the third floor. Nobody goes in there any more aside from me, it seems." she suggested. Having a giant magical castle meant for lots of secret passageways and unused rooms, and Beatrix's mission was to find and record them all!

    Matthias 'Matt' Holgerson / 17 / Slytherin.

They didn't seem too fussed about his grade. Good, maybe he was worrying for nothing then. It was probably just his mother's reaction that had him worried and left him with a bad experience of being 'just average'. It seemed decided what they were doing, and Matt was fine to let them take the lead with it - they seemed to be good at it after all. On the talk of schedules, he had to speak up. "Quidditch practice is Wednesdays and Saturdays for me, but I'm free on all the other days." he replied.

  • dude, my draft deleted i wanna cry. also that's hilarious. i looked it up so more and they actually have final cups and wow, that made my day.

Daniel looked to Bea and raised an eyebrow, catching as she added on the 'most of the time'. Daniel was merely curious and observant of the red. " I have Quidditch practice on Thursdays, and Tuesdays, other that I should be good." He said as he sat up in his seat. "Sounds good, Do you guys, want to start today, or another time." He asked as he looked to the others, he didn't care when he just liked to have things planned.

Chris smiled to Bea, "You have to show us that classroom.' she said curiosity lighting in her eyes. She loved the idea of using the unused classroom, she thought it was pretty cool. "We should totally start today because I really wanna check out this classroom." Chris said a smile set on her lips. The brunette decided she liked her group, she could tell this group was gonna be fun.

is succ, i'm having such trouble portraying chris lmao.

  • ( it's fine! i'm having a harder time writing for Matt because his sort of popular character archetype isn't one that i usually go for, so i get it. it's kinda because of that that i'll be posting tomorrow instead, because i'm not happy with what i've written for him so far (if my draft deletes i'm not going to be happy). also your new icon is adorable!! )

  • ( tbh i feel like bea is more invested in/central to the plot, so it's easier to write for her, if that makes sense? so i think it would be better if i drop matt?? considering that you're also having trouble writing for chris maybe we drop those two & just have it be a more 1x1 rp? it would require some retconning in the next post & that obviously if you're okay with it! the alternative would be brainstorming a sideplot or something that matt is more central to so that my muse for him gets a bit better. )

  • [you're not wrong, haha. either works. i don't mind dropping chris, and i don't mind plotting more, it's up to you. if we continue on with both we could just center them off separate i guess? i don't know, i really suck when it comes to planning last minute ]

  • ( i'd rather just drop them then tbh. I'm not really used to rping more than one character so maybe that's why? I have buckets of muse for bea though, she's just the type of character that I can write well for. )

  • ( alrighty! hopefully this post gives you something to work with. i'm skipping to a couple of days later in case that wasn't clear in my post.)

    Beatrix 'Bea' O'Connor / 17 / Ravenclaw.

The redhead had given Daniel detailed directions to her secret workroom a few days prior. It seemed like the reason nobody came here was because it was a hassle to get to, you had to take a few specific turns and then walk all the way to the end of a corridor with nothing else on it. In a castle that might house all kinds of scary things, many students were not so brave or reckless as she was, and the twisting corridors leading there had deterred many. When Bea had originally found it in her second year, the dust had been so thick that she guessed nobody had been in here but the rodents or insects.

Since then, it had become her main hideout. Rather more cleaned up since her second year, she had moved everything that had once littered the desks to the back of the classroom, and she used the teacher's desk as her main base for her plotting - which recently had included research on animagi. The paper and books on the subject could be passed off as advanced notes for transfiguration, so she wasn't bothered about that, it was the notes on the times the teachers and ghosts patrolled the corridors at night and her map of the hidden rooms and passages she had discovered so far (which were many, as she had set her mind to this cause for a year or so now).

Spending her time waiting for him to show up, she considered that perhaps he had gotten lost on his way there, or taken the wrong door, or ended up stumbling over something better to do than a potions assignment. She didn't think he was the type for that last one, but it was still an option. So she busied her mind with setting up what research she had done so far on the Draught of Peace that they would be studying, and setting up one of the tables with the equipment needed to brew it. For such a complex potion, she figured that they would need to practice it before they did it in class under the teacher's scrutiny.
