  • TAGS ✦ ✧ ✦ — Honestly, it was a little bit of a shocker that the feline had came out of her cottage. Usually she would have just holed up and kept to herself. The news of the birth of Canoris's kids didn't miss her ears though. Honestly, the two hadn't talked a whole lot but she was a little fond of the wolf. She had recommended her as a medic apprentice to Irene near the time she had first joined. She stood up for her when things got bad. Honestly, the canine had done a lot for her in the short period that they talked.

Deciding to come out of her home for a bit, Ella gathered up some flowers and basic goodies into a basket. She really hoped that Canoris liked some of the food she packed. Since they weren't really super close she wasn't sure exactly what she liked. She figured though that the thought might count so she did her best. Once she got everything together she soon headed out of her small cottage.

Honestly, she had a lot on her mind still. Between her nightmares, Lox being gone, and Rosemont finding someone she had been struggling mentally. Her eyes had become noticeably duller, and her smile had faded away. The once friendly and optimistic female was gone and replaced with hollow shell. She honestly just hoped something positive would come out of going to see Canoris.

Once she found the wolf's house she carefully set down her basket and carefully knocked on the door. Hopefully she wasn't arriving at a bad time.

// Canoris Forgot to tag you lmao

  • Canoris' ears perked as she heard someone come to her door. Part of her hated that everyone knew where to find her since she had settled down in a cabin. She couldn't wait till her pups were old enough that she didn't have to stay in the same place every time. It wasn't that she didn't like visiting people.... She just didn't like to be the one approached.

Ah well. She'd deal. Sniffing the air to try and figure out who it was, Canoris was happy to recognize Ella's scent. She hadn't seen much of the flower loving member, and the most prominent memory she had of her was when speaking about her with that one guy... What was his name... Ack, she couldn't remember. But that one klepto in the Blackhearts. She wondered what had resulted from that.

"Ella? You can come in." At least the door was thin enough to smell through.

  • TAGS ✦ ✧ ✦ — Ella felt herself relax a little as she heard Canoris's voice welcoming her. Funny how she recognized her despite her not saying a word. Then again, the scent of flowers probably indicated who she was immediately. After all, she had always been known for her gardening skills.

Carefully opening the door, the feline gave a small smile to the wolf. "I hope you don't mind, but I brought some goodies for you," she said before carrying the basket inside closing the door behind her. She reluctantly went closer to Canoris setting the basket down a little way from her head. The flowers, tea bags, and food's scent were clearly wafting from the basket.

"How have you been doing?" she asked as she sat down a respectful distance from the other female. She figured that the question would hopefully start up some conversation. Even with her anxiety the idea of some casual conversation seemed nice. She hadn't been able to relax recently due to her nightmares. Hopefully they would subside once she got out more.

Trying not to somehow show her internal depression to her, the feline kept her small smile as she sat there.

  • Canoris' ears perked as Ella said she'd brought her stuff. It was sweet of her to do, and Canoris wasn't surprised she'd done it. What surprised her is that Ella had done it for her. Canoris wasn't sure if she'd ever learn to expect other's doing nice things for her. It just wasn't a common place.

Nox, one of her nosiest children, twitched his nose and opened his eyes to look at the snacks. Canoris heard him rustle towards the basket and put a firm paw on top of him. The young pups air rushed out as Canoris said, "We'll share the snacks later." Nox grumbled something before curling up and going back to sleep.

Satisfied he wouldn't be a problem in this conversation any longer, the blind wolf turned her attention back on Ella. Odd that their positions were practically flipped. Ella being reclusive as Canoris had been, Canoris a medic trainee because it was the best way she could think to be useful while being blind, and Valaerya had been willing to take her up as an apprentice.

"I've been... Tired." Canoris said, chuckling to herself under her breath. Learning to operate without sight, handling kiddos whose father was avoiding them at the moment - Canoris' fault - and also learning about herbs, something that gave her nightmares of her turning into her murderous father. It was a struggle. And Surge was so busy training those damn birds that he wasn't even around to help...

"How have you been? I haven't seen you around a lot." Canoris herself hadn't been out of the cottage, so the wolf mostly assumed she'd just missed Ella in her short excursions to get food and relieve herself. She had no idea that Ella was suffering her own issues. Perhaps if she'd seen the small smile - so empty compared to Ella's previous light - she would've suspected something.

But seeing as she couldn't, Canoris' mind was fixated on wondering if Ella was still with that guy. In the turmoil during her travels, she hadn't made it back to check, and she would feel terrible if she didn't say something. "So.. weird question... But are you seeing anyone right now?"

  • TAGS ✦ ✧ ✦ — The flower crowned feline watched the slightly surprised expression on Canoris's face. It was quite funny how the roles had switched for the two. Canoris had always been one to keep to herself while she was the type to help literally everyone. Now Ella was a bit hesitant to help strangers and those she didn't know well. Though the femme tried to get better about her seclusion it still was quite difficult.

When she noticed one of the children going towards the basket she couldn't help but let out a small chuckle. Kids were still her weakness despite everything. To her children were still pure and were honest about their feelings. They were some of the few she could trust to be true to her and themselves.

"I can imagine. Raising kids probably is quite the task," she said though her tone didn't resemble her past self either. It was a bit more reserved of emotions, but it was still kind. When she asked her how she was doing her heart skipped a beat for a moment. Should she answer honestly or lie?

"I've been doing decent. Just been taking care of my garden," Ella told her deciding to tell her half of the truth instead of a straight lie.

Then she asked if she was seeing anyone.

For the briefest moment she paused before answering, "No one currently," she said trying to keep her voice void of her inner hurt. When her boyfriend had went missing she had felt quite miserable. He was the first person who seemed to share her feelings. It still pained her to know that he had pretty much vanished without a single warning. Not only that, but her crush, Rosemont, now was with Narukami. She was starting to believe love just wasn't really for her.

"Why do you ask?" the feline questioned curiously as she looked at the canine. Something told her that this question wasn't random. There was something bothering her, and she wanted to know what it was.

  • Canoris nodded, bad with small talk, unable to properly keep a conversation going when it held no meaning. Ella also sounded worn down, so why would they waste their energy on niceties?

The bulk of this conversation was in the question, and Ella herself seemed to pick up on that. Canoris saw no reason to hide the fact that the question was asked with a purpose.

"Early in my travels I happened upon a guy in The Blackheart Rogues... I can't remember his name... But he had your flower crown. I confronted him on it, and he said you two were seeing each other. I guess he could've easily been lying." Canoris explained simply with a small shrug.

  • TAGS ✦ ✧ ✦ — Ella listened carefully to her words as she spoke. As she continued talking her smile faded and she looked away for a bit. Though Canoris didn't know his name she knew who she was talking about. Lox. The kleptomaniac that ended up becoming her boyfriend. Though their relationship was short it was still sweet at the time.

"He didn't lie," she said with some hesitation while looking back at the canine. Her ears pinned against her head a little as she looked at the blind wolf. "We had dated for a short period of time. I haven't seen him in about a moon though," she continued and a subtle frown rested on her maw as the questions she had kept away began to come back.

"I'm assuming he didn't want to be with me anymore so I let it be," Ella finished finally letting her emotions sink into her tone. Honestly, it devastated her when he went missing. For once she felt loved and cared about, and of course he had to leave. Then again, that was just how her life was. She would constantly be abandoned or unloved. It was just how it was for her.

Trying to keep tears from reaching her eyes, the flower crowned feline kept quiet unsure of how the other would react.
