  • Jadelyn hurries into the elevator, glad she made it before the doors closed. She blows hair out of her eyes, smoothing her outfit over to make herself look less like she was running late, as per usual. She had recorded several sessions at the station last night, making her exhausted and in turn she overslept. She was going to hear from her supervisior for sure. Jadelyn sighs, biting her lip as she moved out of the elevator and into her department.

Jadelyn hurries to her desk, taking a sip of coffee before starting to work. She can hardly focus, worried she might actually get fired this time.

  • Nicole was standing around, talking to one of her coworkers that seemed to be having difficulties with their computer when she saw Jadelyn enter the room. She almost snickered at the sight, somewhat amused by her entry. A few playful, yet snide remarks came to mind as she stood there, only half paying attention to the other worker.

Once the issue was settled, she headed over to Jadelyn. “You know, I’m lucky that I didn’t decide to treat you to coffee today. It would have been room temperature by the time you arrived.” There was a slight pause before she continued on with a much less harsh comment. “Seriously though, I would have missed seeing you around. Who else would listen to me judge the rest of our coworkers during break?” She joked. A faint smile tugged at her lips. She let out a sigh. “-I should probably get back to work now. I’ll see you later... probably.”

  • Jadelyn smiles faintly up at Nicole as she approaches her, not really looking up from her computer. That wasn't exactly unusual, most of their conversations were held with Jadelyn being too reserved to make eye contact and too behind in her work to look up from it. "I'll just have to start buying the coffee then, it won't be on time but it'll be hot at least," she snickers, wiping sleep from her eyes.

"You're in a good mood, did you catch that silly radio show again?" Jadelyn teases, taking another sip of coffee before burying her nose in her computer again. She felt like she was allowed to make fun of her own show, most artists had the ability to do that to their own work, but then again she didn't really consider herself an artist.

  • “Silly?” She scoffed. “You and I both know that show is great. Heck, more than great it’s fantastic- not to mention the host. She’s amazing. I could listen to that radio girl talk about anything for hours,” she sighed softly. “You wouldn’t understand. If you listened to her first broadcasts you would get it...” Nicole folded arms over her chest. She actually seemed to be very visibly upset about this. A frown was apparent on her face. “I should get back to work.” With that she began to walk off.

  • Jadelyn bites her lip in regret, she hadn't meant to offend Nicole. She let's her coworker return to her desk before shooting her a quick text, "I'm sorry, I didn't get much sleep last night. I didn't mean to sound insensitive..." She sends, then sends an emoji of a takeout box, "I'll buy lunch to make up for it." That was usually what she did to make up for upsetting Nicole, which she tended to do often without meaning to.

  • Nicole rolled her eyes, not quite out of annoyance at this. She was somewhat humored by her reaction. This wasn’t the first, nor was it probably the last time that Jadelyn would buy her lunch. It was kind of sweet, but she never really had to do that. Sure, Nicole got moody at times but she generally got over whatever made her upset. “You know, with how many times you offer to buy me food, someone might think you like me,” she teased. “I swear one of these days I’m going to take you out somewhere really nice to make up for all the times you’ve bought me lunch,” she answered back, whilst shaking her head slightly.

  • Jadelyn blushes vibrantly, hiding her face in her phone. She bites her lip, about to respond when she feels someone staring at her back. Jadelyn cringes as her supervisor glares at her, tapping her pen on a clipboard, "Ms. Monroe, please be sure to have outside-of-work conversations outside of work, or do I need to speak to the directors about your recent behavior. " Jadelyn nods, stashing her phone before quickly returning back to her paperwork.

  • Nicole in this time already went back to her own work. She really hated her job here. Never in her life had she ever expected to work inside of an office building like this. She always wanted some sort of adventure in her life, but she ended up here. A long exhale escaped her and she began to type something up on her computer.

  • Jadelyn shows up at Nicole's desk at lunch, handing her a box of Chinese take out as she pulls a chair up, " I got extra fortune cookies so you'd have something sweet," she murmurs, handing her a pair of chopsticks. She eats quietly for a moment, "I think I'm gonna get fired at the end of the week," she murmurs after a long time, stabbing at her noodles clumsily.

  • “You’re not going to miss much here. Honestly, I thought about quitting myself. It’s a shame they might fire you though. Do you have any backup plans for a job or anything? Hopefully you can get approved for one before you have to leave. It would be a mess if you didn’t when it comes to money,” she responded. She slowly began eating from her own box. The topic made it harder to want to eat, but she had skipped breakfast this morning. “You know, if you need any help I’d be more than willing to do what I can for you. I have a cousin that runs their own business. They could probably use extra employees, though the only jobs available I think include heavy lifting- and it pays slightly less than this one. So...” She just kind of shrugged. “...You know. I could try and see if they could set you up with another job or something. I’ll miss having you here though.”

  • Jadelyn freezes, biting her lip, "I mean, I have my night job, but I don't know if it pays enough to live on... I don't want to start looking for jobs though, not if I'm not actually getting fired. But you know Veronica is going to notice I came in late today too," she mutters, then looks up at Nicole with sad emerald eyes. "I'd appreciate it if you put a word in for me with your cousin though." She smiles softly, eating quietly. After a moment, she lets her guard down slightly with a soft blush of her cheeks, "I'd miss you too, believe it or not."

  • “Of course. Do you think someone of your stature is good at lifting though?” she joked partially. A faint smile formed on her face as she ate. “You know... It’s no wonder you aren’t getting much sleep now that I think about it. I didn’t think that you had a night job. You don’t seem the to be the type. You must be pretty exhausted after whatever shifts you have, huh? What exactly do you do anyways? You haven’t told me.” She questioned curiously.

  • Jadelyn flinched, she forgot for a moment where she was and who she was talking to. She takes a sip of water to keep from choking and to think of an answer, "Just at the supermarket near my apartment. I stock shelves over night and sometimes they ask me to stay late sometimes," she mutters, averting her gaze, "Just heavy lifting basically," she teased lightly, boxing her leftovers up to take with her for dinner.

  • “Tch. Yeah. Fine. I’m just concerned about you that’s all. You’re even more fragile than glass. I’m afraid if I ever tried hugging you that you would just break in my arms,” she teased. “At least you have that to lean on though. It sounds nicer than this job. Working at a store is a lot more fun than a plain old office. It almost makes me wish that I dropped out of high school to make my own rock band or something. All the cool kids were doing it at the time...”

  • Jadelyn snickers, "I was always too quiet to doing those sorts of things, I'll stick to putting playlists together on spotify," she laughs softly, she tucks a strand of hair behind her ear. She sees Victoria scanning the office and Jadelyn stands, "I should get back to my cell, " she laughs, saying goodbye to her friend. She enjoyed her chats with Nicole at lunch, and she hoped her stupid boss wouldn't fire her for that reason alone. Honestly, it was the highlight of her day job. Jade sighs and buries her face back into her computer.

  • Nicole stifled a laugh at that. “I’ll see you around hopefully.” She waved the other a quick goodbye, before deciding that she needed to put the rest of her food up. Once she was done with that, she went almost immediately back to work. That was to say of course after sending her dear friend a sweet, smiling emoticon by itself. She felt that it was fitting enough for the moment. It’s not like she had the time to type up an actual response. Not with supervisors looming. Besides, why would she waste her time when she could easily send a small picture that did just about the same. Granted, it wasn’t detailed, but she thought it was good enough.

  • Jadelyn toils through the rest of the day, sending an emoji to Nicole here and there to prove she hadn't actually died on the job. Eventually, it gets close to quitting time and Bennet, the local party animal, was going around and inviting everyone out for drinks. "Lynnie, you're coming this time right? You never come out with the rest of the staff!"

Jadelyn sighs, biting back a sharp retort as she packed things up, "No, Bennet, I am not. I have things to do after work besides drink believe it or not." She rushes out of the office and hurries to the radio station, refusing to be late to her broadcast.

ooc: sorry for all the short skips, I just wanted to set the mood before jumping into the first radio cast '^^

  • Of course, Nicole on the other hand ended up going with Bennet. She hardly ever missed a chance to go out with them, though tonight she had some plans of her own. She would never miss the radio show, so of course she was going to listen to it while the others were out drinking. She wasn’t very well with the rest of the group anyways, so it wouldn’t matter. Her plan was simply to get a few drinks, listen to the radio, and go home after spending a little bit of time with her coworkers.

Ooc: I’m so sorry for taking so long. I’ve been really busy.

  • ooc no worries, it's just that time of year, so same here '^^

Jadelyn nods to the doorman as she runs to the stairs, taking them to the third floor of the station two at a time. She practically dives into her chairs and pulls her headphones on, taking a deep breath before going live.

"Hello and howdy it's me again world," Jadelyn declares into her mic as she starts searching for songs, "It's finally friday, which means that it's time for me to dust off my weekend tunes for you guys. We're gonna start this night with a bop by Cyn, but first I wanted to sort of do my daily recap. Y'know, in this world, it's hard to find good people, people that actually want to sit down with you and will not only deal with the bad parts of you, but accept them and take them in strides..." her thoughts dart to Nicole as she starts to play the song Believer by Cyn, "So grab this folks and dance along, that's what I'll be doing until we come back!"

  • It always felt like the mysterious radio host always knew what to play, or at least that’s what Nicole thought. It could have just been her utter infatuation for the other though. Either way, she seemed to enjoy the tune as she listened to it with an earbud in as she ordered her own drink. A few of her coworkers were going on about a few things, mostly complaining about their partners or their jobs. She was only partially listening to them while the rest of her focus went on to the music and waiting for her beverage. All and all nothing too exciting for her.
