  • a whirlwind of magic —

    introduction

A flashing whirlwind of light appeared in front of your eyes, swallowing you and pulled you into a white void. You were there for less than a second when you fell to the ground. Your stomach dropped, as you looked up at your surroundings. Strange people wearing weird clothes were all around you, and the clicks of horseshoes and the distant noise of bells rang in your ears. Realizing you were no longer on earth, you began to panic.

    summary

Present day characters are sent into another world where magic exists. It's a typical fantasy medieval kingdom rp, with dragons, mermaids, and other mythical creatures. This world, instead of going through the route of technology like present day, have gone through the route of magic. Our characters are forced to comply with the new rules of the world, and are stranded with no way of returning back to normal life.

Within the Kingdom of Aedile, a rebellion against the monarchy has been gaining members quickly as of late. The rebels are soon starting a large war, which both sides are preparing for. The main reason for this conflict is because of poverty and social standing differences. There is only the rich and the poor in Aedile. No middle-class, and humans are very racist towards other mythical creatures (like fairies, mermaids, centaurs, etc). Rebels are enthusiastically fighting for equality, whilst the Royals of Aedile believe such problems can be sorted out within time.

In other words, rebels have been waiting a long time for the change of laws and etc., but the royals have been taking their sweet ol' time because they're getting ready to crown their prince as king in a month. So the rebels got impatient, and are now starting a war. Meanwhile the royals got angry at the rebels for starting such violence but are prepared to defend and attack whoever goes against the kingdom lol. Characters from earth are transported into this world & don't know how to get back, so they're kinda just here like "what the hells going on" and are forced to pick a side. This is gonna be great lmao

    setting

The Kingdom of Aedile is vast, with snow-capped mountains and dragon caves to the north, an ocean home to a kraken in the south, large forests to the west, and flower-plains to the east. The main citadel is a cluster of tudor houses and brightly-colored french cottages, gated by white stone walls with ivy hanging from it. The city is full of vibrant colors because of the flowers and abundant of plants growing inside. Located within the citadel are shops selling different things. A ways off from the castle and past the shops is a fine academy of magical arts, where most students from the city will be attending. Though, the main attraction is the castle. Regular citizens will be trained in basic magic, but there are ways for your characters to become skilled in magic later on (buying spell books from the black market or merchants, etc).

Six broad, cylindrical towers are both a defensive and decorational aspect of the elegant castle and is connected by enormous, firm walls made of white stone. Teal stained glass windows are scattered thinly around the walls in fairly symmetrical patterns, along with huge crenelations for archers and artillery. A great gate with colossal metal doors guards its courtyard but it's not the only way in if you know the castle's secret passages. Well kept gardens with fragrant flowers, gorgeous trees and many bushes decorate the outside of the castle. The castle shows signs of expansion as some parts are clearly build more recently than others. Walls have been made to fortify the hill the castle sits on it, and out from the stone are aqueducts that spill out clear, clean water into a river at its base. A bridge over the river leads to large stairs to the castle. The courtyard is mainly open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., where the citizens will be able to sit and enjoy its gardens and fountains. Usually matchmakers will bring their clients to the yard to find suitors.

    characters

In this roleplay you will be able to play people from modern-day earth or citizens of Aedile. Depending on what role you have as a citizen will give your character more freedom as a citizen in Aedile. All characters from modern-day will have to be able to support themselves by getting a job! This means becoming a shopkeeper, businessman, performer, or joining the rebel forces. If the characters are under the age or are 18 years old they will be required to go to school (or, again, join the rebel forces).

Note - you can roleplay characters that aren't human! Just make sure to not power-play.

HP spots will require for me to look at how well you can roleplay, so I will be snooping in your posts! If you made a new account then please give a paragraph of sample roleplay in the 'other' section of your form. (HP stands as High Position, SHP stands as Semi-high/medium position, and LP stands as low position or just a normal position.)

    rules

    1. All feralfront rules apply.

    2. No mary-sues/over-powered characters.

    3. You must be an advanced roleplayer (or at least semi-advanced), meaning 8+ sentences per roleplay post.

    4. No leaving people out. Everyone needs to be roleplayed with! Try plotting with others.

    5. Cursing is allowed but please star it out!

    6. Do not go further past a make-out scene. This is a pg-13 roleplay, so please keep it that way.

    7. Please do not describe gore.

    8. Do not copy other people's characters! Be original with your character's personality.

    9. You cannot kill off another person's character without their permission first.

    10. Don't argue in OOC.

    11. Make sure your character's appearance for the image has a face claim. NOT anime or drawn.

    12. The max amount of characters you are allowed to roleplay is five.

    13. Try not to chat on the sign-up thread. I don't mind ooc chatting in the roleplay, as long as you roleplay frequently. The chatting is for the plotting thread specifically, so please use it that way.

    14. I will not accept your form if it is not completed, missing valuable information (not enough description), or I think your roleplaying is not advanced enough for this thread.

    15. When roleplaying, please include your characters' name, role/class, race/species, gender identity, and who they are interacting with.

    16. If you are roleplaying people from Aedile and not from modern-day they need to have information on what their job is. Later on, people from modern-day will need to be able to take care of themselves through having a job if they are staying in the city. If they are living in the wilderness then it isn't required.

    17. It is preferred if you use a fancypost for the roleplay thread! Ask me if you do not have a fancy post, and I can make one for you.

    18. 3 HP's limited to one person.

    19. Please follow these rules!

    extra

This thread is a remake of my previous roleplay, The Kingdom of Celux, from last year on a different account! So if you thought this looked familiar, don't fret! I'm the same person who made it.
