The exiled tom limped through ShadowClan, having not been cleared by Icefeather to depart the place he called home. Each day, he admired the pines as he made his way through the territory. The fresh scent dancing across his nose, reminding him of all the love he had received from so many of the cats here. His daughter, his new mate, her kits, Icefeather, Sorrelfire...All of them were his family whether or not he wanted to admit that.
As he padded through the camp, he heard a sound that wasn't familiar to him. It was a strange call. Dismissing it as a rogue or something, he continued to make his way through the territory. Patrolling as if nothing was going to change. He knew he had to think of a way to convince Ratstar he had become loyal. Changed even. He was a better cat and would prove his loyalty with his own life if it came down to it. The chocolate bengal would find a way and knew he had cats that were willing to stick up for him, not that he'd want them to risk their own place in the clan.
There it was again, but this time it was followed by a cat screeching. One that was distinctive and familiar. Ratstar. She couldn't lose another life so soon as she was still recovering. The tabby tom charged on three legs towards the sound, his eyes frantically searching for the black feline. Leaping over a fallen log, the tom landed and stopped in his tracks. The leader was face to face with a large creature, black with a white stripe down the middle. Massive claws and fangs poised to tear the molly to pieces. He couldn't let that happen. With a hiss, he leaped at the badger, aiming to land on its back. If he landed successfully he'd claw at the badger's throat, aiming to kill it.
She knew some of her clan mates were not pleased with her. The leader stood by her words, she had to. Ratstar was defending the warrior code and that was very important to her. But maybe she underestimated who many had already fallen from the path of the warrior code. So many were ready to fight her on this. It confused her. The she-cat wanted to understand but Shadowclan wasn't Shadowclan without the warrior code. Without rules or faith, they would be just like Bloodclan.
