“May we have a moment to speak in private, sir,” Shadow requested.

“Of course.” His gaze had noticed the girl next to Rouge, before going back to Shadow.
With a subtle hand movement, the other gun agents had quickly left the room.
-
“Thank you, sir,” Shadow nodded. “I think we’ve found some... interesting information.” He quickly explained what they had foundat the base because Aurora was too lazy to type it all up.
-
“So... let me get this straight... tucked away in this abandoned lab, Eggman had the reincarnation of a multi-dimensional being locked away as a sort of final doomsday weapon...?” The GUN commander sighed weakly
“Well... at least we got to it before anyone else did...”
-
Shadow nodded softly. “We also have an AI that Eggman created for her upkeep, although we aren’t entirely sure of all of his capabilities. He seems to be very similar to Metal Sonic’s AI that he has created for us in his labs.”
-
“Hmm...” He crosses his arms slowly with his own nod.
“Metal Sonic would probably be the best to go to in this situation... he is the... ‘son’ of the doctor, after all.”
-
Shadow nodded. “I’m just not sure if he will be willing to cooperate...”
-
“Hmm... that is a possibility. We could get in contact with him now and see, I need to enquire about the artificial limbs for some of the injured GUN soldiers anyway.”
-
“And, the girl...?”
-
“Yes, the girl...” He looked down slowly “It’s an interesting case... she clearly has some powerful abilities, so should be kept out of the public for everyone’s sake... yet she’s still also a human, so it isn’t like we can just chuck her in the back room and forget about her.”
-
Shadow clasped his arms behind his back. “I... w-we would be willing to look after her, Commander, if you give permission to do so.”
-
He paused, turning to look down to Shadow.
"Hmm...? Why would..."
He paused, mind drifting to the older sister he never had...
Before it dawned on him.
"It's because of how similar she is, isn't it? To Maria..." He once more drifted into silence, turning away once more.
-
Shadow flinched, his ears immediately flattening. He looked down silently, although his silence gave away the answer.
-
"Hmm... I noticed the similarities myself..." He was quiet, before turning back to Shadow.
"Well, I personly don't see a problem with it... but will you be able to handle her?"
-
“...of course,” Shadow nodded.
-
The Gun commander nodded slowly in response.
"Well, alright then... meanwhile I'll get in touch with Metal, see if he has any possible information on this other fox you found."
-
“Thank you, Commander,” Shadow nodded.
-
"You don't need to thank me, Shadow..." He paused, turning away before typing into the computer in front of him.
There was a flicker, before the holographic fox appeared in front of them.
"Commander, a pleasant surprise." She tilted her head slightly. "What could Robotnick industries do for you?"
-
Shadow’s ears twitched as he glanced up.
-
"Ah, good day. Is Metal Sonic there?"
"No, sir. He's currently out with his wife and child. However, I can be of assistance in anyway possible."
The GUN commander nodded slowly "Hmm... Team Dark discovered someone similar to you during a mission... and we would of liked to speak to your master, but..."
"I see... so you found another member of the AIA series?"
