"Although Solaria has many powers, as far as we're aware, being in more than one place at once isn't one of them," Shadow growled. "You must be mistaken. We've had Solaria under surveillance for nearly a week and as I said before, she hasn't even left the base."

“Shadow, do you forget that that child is the embodiment of the deity that exists in multiple timelines all at the same time? As far as you’re concerned, what’s not to say she’s bent time and space to her will.”
-
"Just goes to show how well you actually know Solaria," Shadow hissed. "She would never do anything like that!"
Rouge gently stood and walked to Solaria's side, gently putting a hand on her shoulder. -
“Oh, and you know we’re perfectly inside and out, do ya Shadz? How much of Solaria is actually human, and how much is deity?!”
The child had stayed quiet, slowly looking down and keeping her fists clenched beneath the table.
-
Rouge gave Solaria's shoulder a gentle squeeze of reassurance, her eyes soft.
"I don't know her perfectly, no, but I know she's much stronger and much kinder than you ever gave her credit for." Shadow's hands were clenched tightly, his eyes dilated in anger. "You only see Solaria for the two gods that Eggman crammed into Maria's body, but she is more than the sum of her parts!" -
Maria?/Maria...?
Both Sonic and Solaria looked up quickly, Sonic sweatdropping and Solaria’s eyes weakening in concern.
“Hold on, Shadz... did you say... Maria?”
“Maria...?” Solaria whispered under bee breath, gazing back down slowly.
-
Rouge's eyes widened and darted to Shadow in alarm, her wings twitching slightly. Oh, no...
Shadow's eyes dilated in shock as he realized what he'd said. He stood stock still, staring at Sonic but not really looking at him, only trying to figure out how to explain away his own words. He grit his teeth. "...dammit." His tightly clenched fists loosened.
-
“Hold on, so you’re telling me...” Sonic looked to Solaria, then back to Shadow.
“... Did you ever really care about her, then? Or was it because she’s Maria, in a sense?”
“... w-who...” Solaria forced the whisper out, to no one in particular.
-
"No. No, no." Shadow shook his head and quickly turned to look at Solaria. "Solaria, I'm sorry, I... I didn't want you to find out like this. I was going to tell you, but with everything going on, I thought it was wise... to-to wait..."
-
“I... I’m not even... me...?” The girl squeaked out weakly, her eyes becoming slightly misty despite no tears.
“I’m not even... my own person...?” She looked down to her hands, hesitantly reaching for some of her hair and looking at it.
“T-this... none of this is mine? My hands... my hair... my mind...? Nothing...?”
-
"No, Solaria, that isn't true," Rouge said, her grip on Solaria's shoulder tightening. "You- Just like Shadow was saying, you're more than just the sum of your parts..."
Shadow growled before turning to glare at Sonic. "Leave, now. Solaria isn't who you're looking for." -
“B-but, I... t-then that means, if I’m someone else... w-would they of had to of died...? D-did I kill them? D-did I kill them and not remember...?”
“Oh really? And you have evidence of that, Shadow? Or are you covering Maria’stracks?”
-
"No, honey, you had nothing to do with that," Rouge continued to try and comfort her by kneeling in front of her, eyes gentle. "It's okay..."
"You want to get Solaria, you have to ask GUN for permission to talk to her first," Shadow hissed. "And then you'll have to get through me. Now I won't ask again. Get out." -
Solaria looked up to her, her eyes misty with a pupil occasionally flickering to a crystalline Green before returning to normal.
“W-what else have I done? W-who else have I ruined the lives of...?”
“Please...” Sonic narrowed his eyes.
“I’ve handed your ass to you more than once, and GUN have never even been able to touch me. I’d like to see you all try... but I’m doing this for friends, Shadow... friends who have lost everything, and as far as I’m aware, everything they’ve said leads to her... they even even got her name. And how else would they get that?”
-
"You haven't done anything, Solaria, " Rouge's ears flattened. "You haven't ruined anyone's life."
"I do not have the patience for this, faker," Shadow clenched his teeth in a snarl, eyes still dilated. "You aren't getting to her, end of story." -
“B-but how do we know? D-dad never sai-“ She paused, eyes weakening before looking back up to Rouge slowly.
“D-did... did you know about this...?”
“Shadow, quit being a blockhead about this. The evidence leads to her, you’re just making this harder than it needs to be-“
The blue hedgehog stopped with a flick of his ears, hearing Omega step up behind him and glare down at the hedgehog.
-
Rouge's eyes weakened. "We... I-I - It's like Shadow said, we wanted to tell you... at some point..." Her ears slowly slid as she talked, pausing to bite her lip. "We just found out from the files we retrieved from Eggman's old base... we just thought we were too busy at the moment to tell you..."
-
“...” Solaria looked down to her hands slowly, the green crystal-esque pupil reappearing before going again.
“I... I-I need time alone—“
She slipped out of Rouge’s arms and took a few steps away, oblivious to the slow crystallisation of her hands as she lifted them to her head before turning and quickly making a move to exit the cafeteria.
-
“Solaria, wait,” Rouge called sadly, but didn’t pursue, only soghing as she watched the girl leave.
Shadow turned from his argument with Sonic, blinked, and then turned back to the hedgehog, eyes narrowed. “You aren’t welcome here, hedgehog. We will not hesitate to make you leave by force if you do not leave of your own volition.” -
Solaria quickly made her way down the hall, pupils dilated as she lightly squeezed her head, gritting her teeth weakly.
“I-I... I’m not? I... I don’t... I’m not... I’m... someone else...?”
“...” Sonic simply offered a dry smile.
“It’s fine, I can take my exit and ask my own questions now...” He turned... only to start jogging after Solaria.
“Yo, kid, hold up!”
