"..." She was quivering slightly in fear, continuing to cling to him gently.
"I... I remember something... a man... there was a white-haired man..."
-
shadow's ears slid back as he gently rested a hand on her back.
-
"He... he was yelling at me... b-because I wasn't listening to him..." She was holding him fearfully, the memories almost fresh in her mind.
She had felt her consciousness begin slipping away, as if some mysterious force was ripping her in half.
One half simply hovered above the remains of the stasis tube; the red and black orb shining brightly as the flames engulfed the sphere.
The Flames of Disaster, Iblis.
The other half had melted away into a black puddle, dribbling and sliding away into the shadows.
And the darkness of humanity embodied, Mephiles the Dark.
-
Shadow gently knelt down in front of her, taking her shoulders. “Solaria...”
-
She slowly looked up to him, golden eyes soft with worry
-
“They can’t do anything to you anymore. Here, you’re safe.” His voice was surprisingly gentle as he looked into her eyes, trying to calm her.
-
She nodded quickly, although kept her grip on him fairly tight.
"Y... you promise...?"
-
"I promise..."
-
She nodded slowly, her grip on him beginning to soften as she relaxed
-
“I won’t let anything else happen to you.” Shadow blinked slowly. Had he actually said that?
-
She nodded slowly, keeping her gaze down silently.
"O-ok..."
-
Shadow stood again, although he kept his hand on her shoulder gently.
-
She relaxed slightly now that she was reassured, breathing a soft sigh of relief
-
shadow smiled gently before looking up.
-
"Shadow... who was that man?" She looked up to him slowly.
It hadn't dawned on her until just now to question who they had just been talking to, and why he seemed so important
-
"He'a the commander," Shadow responded. "He's in charge of GUN. He makes all the decisions and tells us where our missions will be."
-
"GUN..." She murmured to herself softly, then looked up to him with a nod.
"Is this... my new home...?"
-
"If you want it to be," he responded softly
-
She stayed quiet, although nodded slowly.
"That... that would be nice..."
