  • ❝ WE'RE APATHETIC AND THEY CAN'T TAKE THAT AWAY ❞

Coldkit might have - sort of- maybe- snuck out of camp this morning. And she might have hid in the shadows, covered in ash as she'd seen a few clanamtes do, watching the newer npc apprentices learn to hunt. And it seemed rather easy - "keep your body low, tail sticking straight ahead... check." she whispered to herself, doing just that in the center of what was left of the training-hollow. The area was empty, so she figured it was fine - she doubted she'd get caught. "hind legs ready to leap... front legs to pounce... and..." she pounced - her prey of choice being an opportune leaf that had tried to flit by on the breeze. To her mild surprise, she caught it, but then again- if there was one strong-suit Coldkit had other than her apathetic facade, it was her quick-learning mind and her preference to follow orders near exact, so long as there was a good explanation or reference point.

❝ I TAKE MY PILLS AND I'M HAPPY ALL THE TIME ❞

  • Redstripe had happened to be patrolling when she had seen Coldkit in the training hollow. Hiding herself among the charred trees, she watched as the kitten pounced on a leaf. For her age, her hunting crouch was not bad at all and the warrior found herself wearing a proud smile before realizing she should probably usher the young one back to camp before her mother discovered she was missing. "Coldkit," the warrior said in a chiding yet gentle voice. "I think you know better than to be out of camp."

    INFORMATION

  • You should be resting on the nursery, but NPCbriar and his stupid friends won’t quit bothering you and stealing your prey. The stupid irritating tom stole the shrew you had this morning, and even clawed your face! He probably would have slashed your throat if Asphodelpaw hadn’t come along.

You plop yourself down as a warrior you don’t know is chiding Coldkit for leaving the camp. Why are they so against kits exploring?

After Stormkit's sneaking out incident the other day, Flameseeker had been watching the kits like a hawk - when she was in camp that is. However, this morning she had left them with a NPC queen while she went out hunting. She had assumed they would be in good care, however, as she walked by the training hallow and spotted one of her kits, she had guessed wrong. Her fur puffed up irritatedly, and she was about to go grab Coldkit and march her back to camp, but after watching her pounce on the leaf, she couldn't help but feel...proud. "I see you inherited my hunting skills." the ginger tabby would say, padding over to join Redstripe and Coldkit. Her daughter was a natural hunter. Now she couldn't wait to see Coldkit become an apprentice and they could hunt together. She had already trained Rustpaw to be a lethal hunter, now it seemed her kits would be just as lethal as well.

"Try lowering your back end just a little more, it will help you with your leap." Flameseeker would say, reaching out a gentle paw to help correct her daughter's form.

  • Heatherbloom never wanted kits of her own; that was a well known fact among ThunderClan. However, that didn't stop the striped warrior from watching the hijinks of Flameseeker's kittens with barely contained delight.

"You're on your way to being a good hunter, Coldkit!" Heatherbloom praised the kitten but a frown sat on her pretty maw. A memory stirred, of Redstripe catching her sneaking out to practise as a kitten. It was the one time she had left camp without an escort-- well, the one time she'd been caught. "You just need to practise in camp until you're apprenticed. It's dangerous in the forest, even for us warriors."

  • Brushing past his former apprentice, blackstar gave a small sigh. He’d been out to the Fourtrees for a little hunt knowing it was neutral territory. But because of all the foot traffic, honestly there wasn’t that much to be found. Well aside from two measly cardinals he really had to fight for. If it weren’t for his hunting experience and ability to ambush birds that haphazardly try to find berries in bushes; he’d probably end up with empty jaws.

He heard everyone and figured what had happened. Looking at Black, he gave her a small smile. She must be confused about why kits couldn’t leave camp. “Because of the dangers out there, kits under 6 moons aren’t allowed out of camp for their safety. Moons ago, my daughter Rustpaw nearly got carried away by a hawk. She was injured badly and I thought Lambtuft would5 be able to help heal her, much less Rustpaw would be able to walk again.” The tom was serious and he hoped no one would think of it as an exaggeration. Well the ginger molly did have the scars to prove though.

    "i wait for the morning."

  • I FEEL LIKE A MILLION BUCKS —

Seeing both his mother and sister out of camp, livin' it up in the wilderness, hunting and bonding and stuff, he groaned. From just outside the camp entrance he could see the group that had gathered.

"Of course Coldkit gets away with it!! Look at her, she's adorable!" the kit called out, sticking his tongue out playfully at his mom and sister. He plopped his butt down and stayed where he was, not wanting to make his mom worried again like he did the other day. Instead of joining the group he mumbled to himself, pawing a few dead leaves and glancing over at his sister's impressive hunting-stance, impatient for the day he would be able to train as an apprentice.

  • ❝ WE'RE APATHETIC AND THEY CAN'T TAKE THAT AWAY ❞

Coldkit did in fact, know she wasn't allowed out of camp. However, that had yet to stop her brother from leaving, and she was sure nearly every kit in the clan had or would do so at some point in their time. So she just stared blankly at Redstripe, one invisible eyebrow raised as if saying 'so?'.

However, as her mother came over, the rather aloof kit puffed up every so slightly in pride, and while she still seemed calm and apathetic, there was a slight gleam in her eyes that hadn't been there before. Nodding, she'd fall back into the stance, doing as her mother told her. She decided to totally ignore everyone else's presence, focusing on Flameseeker and waiting for her approval - or lack of, if she'd done it wrong.

And then stormkit came over, and she glanced at him - as soon as her mother responded, she'd dart ov3er to him, her face still nearly impassive but her eyes kind, and she'd attempt to nuzzle her brother gently, as if silently apologizing.
