Hadley whimpered as Ricky only tightened his grip on Hadley at Tony's words. She cried out in pain when he twisted her wrist, making a loud pop sound. She winced and tried to yank herself from his grip but Ricky wasn't letting up. The blonde looked to the man she loved with tears in her eyes and her eyes pleaded him to stop. She would rather get hurt herself than allow him to get hurt. She would take beatings from Ricky every day rather than let Tony get hurt because of her. Ricky stepped closer to Tony and his eyes glared daggers at the male before him. "She was mine long before she was ever yours. And you were just holding my place for me. I'm Ricky, I'm sure she's told you about me. So just give it up, she's not worth it." Ricky barked at Tony. He glared daggers at him and then yanked Hadley forward, causing her to whimper in pain. He pulled her hair to the side and his breath was on her neck. Hadley's breaths were shaky and she was as stiff as a board. She had such terror in her gaze but at Ricky's touch, she seemed to go numb. Ricky smirked deeply at Tony and Hadley blinked, her gaze flickering down to the ground. "See how easily she gave in? Pathetic." Ricky chuckled darkly and tears filled Hadley's eyes. A single tear ran down her cheek as her gaze lifted to meet Tony's. She wanted him to save her, to whisk her away and to never let anything hurt her ever again. But then again, she knew how dangerous Ricky was. She wouldn't allow him to get hurt just to save her. Ricky was right, she wasn't worth it. Hadley let a shaky gasp leave her lips as she let the reality of what was soon to be her fate sink in. Ricky had found her again and she would become his prisoner all over again. He would beat her anytime she stepped out of line and would cheat on her continuously with various women and most of the time, in their own bed. Hadley winced at the thought. Ricky was one of the main reasons she felt so invisible compared to other women. She had been the last pick, always. She was never the first pick. She was never smart enough, or pretty enough. Or even tough enough. She was never enough. And she felt as if that would follow her until the day she died.

Ricky had stepped to move around Tony and was dragging Hadley behind him. The blonde glanced up and she saw Tony block him again. Ricky clenched his jaw and Hadley could just tell Ricky was about to explode. Her eyes widened and her instinct to protect Tony kicked in. It seemed as if everything moved in slow motion. She saw Ricky raise his fist and was coming down toward Tony's face quickly. She cried out and jumped i front of Tony. Within seconds, Ricky's fist wrecked into her cheek at full force. Ricky chuckled lowly, surprised she had taken the punch for him. Hadley groaned and stumbled back into Tony's arms, tears in her eyes. A copper taste filled her mouth and she lifted her fingers to her mouth. She pulled them back and saw blood covering her fingers. She groaned, already feeling her head pounding and the room spinning. She touched where he had punched her and winced. She could already feel the swelling and the bruising. He had also cut her cheek open and blood dripped down her face. Hadley stumbled back once more, causing Ricky to laugh. She clutched her head as she felt her vision getting blurry. She gripped Tony's shirt tightly, as if her life depended on it. "Tony..." She said breathlessly and reached up to touch his face with her bloody fingers. Ricky had always had a hard punch and Hadley had forgotten just how bad it was.

Steve had gotten lost in the kiss, gently gripping her face in his large hands. He was gentle, not wanting to rush her or push her into anything she wasn't comfortable with. They seemed to melt together and truly become one. He sighed in the kiss, feeling bliss when she was around. He had missed her, more than he would admit out loud. He had felt as if he was just... floating these past two months. But she made it different. She made him want to be different. Steve smiled in the kiss, unable to contain how happy he was to be back in her arms once more. He pulled from the kiss for a moment once he felt her hands sneak up his hoodie. He looked down at her with a soft gaze and the way she looked it him, it was as if asking permission. He smiled softly at her and gently ran his thumb across her cheekbone. "You're so beautiful." He breathed before he moved to take his wet hoodie off of his body. He was left bare chested, his pants softly filling the air between them. He leaned down again, their lips meeting. He kissed her deeply but with the same gentleness as before. He moved to gently hold her waist and he wrapped his arms around her and pulled her body to his. His fingers tangled in her dark curls and he got lost once more. He imagined their lives together. Would they have a big house, like a mansion? Would they be silly and goof off as they chased each other through the halls? Or would they have a quaint little cottage in the woods with a dog? Steve smiled in the kiss as he thought of this. He could do anything she wanted with their future. He didn't care. As long as she was happy and that he had her. He couldn't ask for much else.

He gently pulled from the kiss and looked down at her with a gentle gaze. "You can tell me when to stop. I don't want to push you into anything, Addie." He almost whispered as he brushed her curls from her face. He smiled softly, allowing himself to enjoy this moment.

When Steve pulled away and called her beautiful Adelaide couldn’t be help the gentle smile that adorned her lips. Her cheeks turned a soft pink and she glanced away for a moment before looking back up at him. He was so sweet to her. She didn’t deserve it. The dark haired beauty watched quietly as he took his hoodie off, her tongue darting out to like her bottom lip in slight hunger. She couldn’t help it, the man was practically a god send. When he kissed her she nearly melted into his arms. She never felt more loved and protected before. She moved her arms to wrap around his neck, her fingers playing with the hair at the back of his neck. Their bodies molded together perfectly, as if they were made for each other. Her hands grabbed at his hair, pulling him as close as she possibly could. She wanted all of him, even if she wasn’t sure that she could give him all of her. Adelaide wished that she could see herself through his eyes and she what Steve really thought of her. Did he really want to be with her? If she had the answer maybe she wouldn’t be so scared.

The beauty lazily placed her hands on to Steve’s shoulders when the muscular male started talking again. In her opinion there was entirely to much talking going on right now. Biting down on to her lip she looked up at him. Her gaze was gentle. She trailed her hands down to his stomach, gently pushing him backwards until he sat back down into the bench. Climbing on to his lap Adelaide placed her legs on either side of him. Running a finger over his bottom lip she used her free hand to unbutton the shirt she had on, shrugging it off once she was finished and leaving her only in the black bra and panties she had been wearing before Steve showed up. “I want you.” She nearly whispered, bending her head down and pressing soft kisses into his neck. “All of you. No holding back. No stopping.” She could take whatever he had to give to her. She wanted to see him lose control over her.

Tony wasn’t the type of guy who let it known that he was angry. He would usually still remain calm and collected. He learned from his father after all. He’d make some sarcastic comments and verbally rip his opponents to shreds. Even when getting physically he was still as sarcastically violent as ever. However seeing Hadley being treated like this brought out an entirely different side to the man. His hand lifted to wipe at his mouth, agitation clear in his gaze. All he had wanted to do was treat his girl to a nice night out, but no. This shit face had to show up and ruin everything. Hadley deserved better than what was happening to her. “See. You’re saying that she isn’t worth it but you sure are making it a big deal to get her back.” That was the problem with abusive assholes. They make it seem like their significant other was meaningless and that they didn’t give a damn about them but the moment they tried to leave did everything in their power to try and get them to stay. This was no different. When the asshole made a move to leave again, Tony was quicker. Blocking their exit once more. There was no way in hell he was leaving with Hadley. Not on his watch. This seemed to upset the poor bastard and he moved to punch Tony. Only instead of reaching Tony who would have just blocked it, Hadley stepped in and took the punch herself. Now that really made Tony upset. He caught Hadley in his arms, holding on to the blonde tightly. “I’ve got you, baby.” He murmured quietly, glaring at the man in front of him with anger strong enough to make even the devil himself fearful. Setting Hadley down by the bar the billionaire chuckled softly. He knew that what he was about to do would end up in Tabloids everywhere but frankly he didn’t give a fuck. He stood up tall and turned back to Ricky. The man didn’t seem to get the hint that enough was enough and swung at Tony again. The avenger easily ducked under his punch and sent his own straight into the abuser’s stomach, watching him coil as he groaned and held his stomach in pain. Before Ricky could think to do anything else Tony punched him square in the face, standing back as the man fell to the floor unconscious. “You should never hit a lady.” Especially not Tony’s lady.

Hadley groaned, holding her head with a tight grip. Her head was spinning and her vision was blurry. She hadn't prepared herself for the punch so it had discombobulated her. She grunted as she leaned against the bar. A crowd gathered around them and a woman ran up to Hadley and helped her get a grip on reality. She grabbed a wet rag from the bartender as he called the police. The woman wiped the blood from Hadley's cheek and her lip and held her close so she wouldn't lose her balance. Hadley reminded herself to thank her once she got a better grip on what was happening. Her vision was still blurry but she looked over to see Tony approaching Ricky with a fire in his eyes. She reached out to stop him but groaned, her vision dotting with black specks. She sighed and fell back into the woman's arms, wincing. The bartender tried his best to get people to back up as he called the police and then the bouncers came running over. A bouncer saw Hadley's state and then began to pull her outside, with the help of the woman. Hadley held an ice pack the bartender had given her to her cheek with a wince. Soon, she was pulled outside. She hadn't even noticed. Everything was happening all at once but yet, still in slow motion. She groaned, holding her throbbing head. She leaned against the building as she panted softly. A paramedic arrived on the scene and handed her some water, wanting to examine her. She snatched the water and chugged it with a low growl. Her eyes glowed black as she turned her head. Tony was still inside. She had no idea how the fight had turned out. And she wouldn't let Tony get hurt because of her. He was her Tony, her Iron man. Hadley grunted as she pushed past the paramedic and stumbled back into the club. The music pounded in her ear and she hissed, shaking her head and forcing herself to focus. She finally pushed through the crowd and arrived at Tony's side just as Tony punched Ricky hard and knocked him unconscious. Hadley gasped loudly as the crowd cheered, their cameras out. Paparazzi had already invaded the scene and were taking countless pictures, of Tony and of Hadley together. Hadley winced at the bright flashes and grimaced at Ricky. He slurred and tried to sit up but before he could, the police came rushing into the club. The music halted harshly and Hadley just face palmed. Tony had to fight back instead of just leaving. Hadley watched the police grab Ricky up and begin to carry him out. Then the police began to pull Hadley and Tony outside, wanting to question them. But once outside, Hadley was pushed toward the paramedics first.

Hadley roughly shrugged off the officer's grip and glared daggers at him before climbing into the ambulance. She was being herself once more, the dizziness gone. But now, she was pissed. She let the paramedic check up on her and clean her up, placing a band aid over the cut on her cheek. She glared at Tony as he stood a few feet from her, being questioned by the police. The paramedic released her and she hopped out of the back of the ambulance. She turned her fiery gaze to a police officer as he began to question her. She crossed her arms over her chest as she explained the situation. "I came here with Mr. Stark. We were dancing and drinking. And he left to get us some ore drinks. Ricky is an ex-boyfriend of mine, who I have a restraining order on. So he broke his parole as well as the restraining order. Ricky was going to punch Tony so I got in front of Tony and Ricky punched me instead. I don't remember much after that, I was brought outside by one of the bouncers. I had come back inside to see if Tony was okay when I saw him knock out Ricky. So this was all in self defense." Hadley explained calmly and her blue gaze settled on the officer. He nodded and thanked her before walking off. Hadley pushed her curls over her shoulder as she clenched her jaw. She saw Tony approaching her and she bit the inside of her cheek, knowing he would have something snarky to say.

Steve chuckled softly as she seemed annoyed that he had stopped their kissing to speak. He found her completely adorable. He leaned down gently, his brushing against her cheek softly. He smiled softly and admired her beauty for a moment, afraid it might be like last time. She would push him all over again and he'd feel lost without her. But something felt different this time. He wanted to be gentle this time, to show her how she should have been loved all of these years. His fingers tangled in her dark curls before he had been shoved back onto the bench. He let out a chuckle and held her hips as she climbed into his lap and his blue eyes met hers. With her words, he felt his heart flutter. He smiled softly at her. He watched her shrug off the shirt she had been wearing but his eyes stayed on hers. He felt this time was different. Sure, there was lust. But lust wasn't the right word. Passion fit what he was feeling more. He cared for Adelaide. He wanted to be with her, from this day until his last. He wanted her to feel loved and appreciated and to show her the world, how she truly was meant to enjoy it. He gently grabbed her hands and put them on his chest, on his racing heart. His blue eyes shimmered with a gentleness most men didn't have. The type of gaze a man would have for the woman he intended to marry. Steve brushed the curls from her face as their breaths mingled together. "I agree, no stopping. No holding back. But this time, we're doing this slow." Steve spoke in a soft voice but his voice was as warm as honey. He pushed himself to stand, shifting Adelaide and carrying her bridal style to her room. He kissed her deeply, the kisses filled with passion but held so much gentleness to it as well. Steve carried her over to her bed and laid her down gently, never breaking the kiss. His hands moved to her waist as he climbed on top of her. He pulled from the kiss for a moment with a soft smile on his lips.

The moonlight hit both of their bodies and seemed to illuminate the love they held for each other. He reached down gently and caressed her cheek. "Just trust me okay?" Steve spoke in almost a whisper. He was going to be gentle. He was going to be loving in the way he touched her. How could he not? She deserved every ounce of kindness Steve had in him, which was a lot. Steve leaned down, kissing her once more. He intertwined their fingers as he held her hands and held them slightly above her head, their bodies melting together in the moonlight.

Tonight definitely did not go the way Tony had wanted it too. Seems a guy wasn’t able to just take his girl out for a nice night out on the town anymore. No, one of her crazy delusional exes had to show up and ruin their fun. Of course it wasn’t Hadley’s fault, he would never blame her for what had happened. It wasn’t her fault her ex was a raging lunatic who talked a big game but didn’t have the skills to back it up. By now there was a big scene. An entire crowd had formed around him and Ricky, cheering Tony on for what he did. Also seems that people liked to see a superhero punch a guy in the face. Go figure. There were paparazzi around too, and Tony knew for a fact that what happened would be broadcasted and wrote about everywhere. He could already see the headlines now and knew that he would have to make an official statement declaring that no he didn’t just ouch a random citizen, and that it was a matter of self defense. The police pulled him, along with Hadley who shouldn’t have even been back in the club, outside to ask questions. The generic simple ones like why he had punched Ricky in the face and that stuff. Tony explained it the best that he could. He told them that he had went to go get drinks for him and Hadley and when he was coming back he found Ricky dragging her off to the door. That he confronted them because he could tell that he was hurting her and that she didn’t want to go anywhere with him. That Ricky for an attitude and went to punch Tony but Hadley jumped in and took the punch herself and that afterwards Ricky tried to punch him again but Tony avoided it and sent a punch himself and knocked the man out. After that the police agreed that this was a defense situation and said that he was free to go.

Walking over to Hadley, his hands in the pockets of his jeans he stood in front of the blonde. His brown eyes took in the mark on the cheek that Ricky had caused and it made him want to go find the asshole and punch him again in the face. “Look, Hadley.” Tony could tell by the look on her face that she was pissed and she was rightfully so to be honest. He just didn’t want her to be pissed at him. He moved to place a hand on her shoulder, gripping it softly with his callused hand. “I appreciate you taking that punch for me but it really wasn’t necessary, baby. I don’t want you going around getting hurt because you want to protect me.” It was sweet but he didn’t like the thought of Hadley jumping in front of him every time someone went to hit him or something.

Hadley narrowed her eyes as Tony approached, his hands shoved into his pockets. She watched him with a glare and when he spoke up, she lifted her chin. As he placed his hands on her shoulders, she frowned deeply. She scoffed at his words and shoved his hands off of her. She felt her eyes narrow to slits like a feline as she tried to understand that he had really said such a thing. Hadley just rolled her eyes and shook her head, a soft laugh falling from her lips. She wiped her mouth before pursing her lips. She looked over at the man she loved as she crossed her arms over her chest. "He is my ex, my baggage. I wasn't about to let a monster from my past hurt you. And don't act so high and mighty. You know you would jump in front of a punch for me if need be, right?" Hadley asked with a fire in her voice. She quirked her brow at him and then turned her head as she heard shouting. Ricky had woken up and they were struggling to get him in the back of the cop car. He was hollering and fighting the cops, obviously trying to get to Hadley. The blonde clenched her jaw and there was a fire in her eyes that wasn't often seen. She ignored the slurs he yelled at her and the threats and she scoffed, moving to stomp off. She knew Tony would follow her so she didn't even glance behind her before she began to speak again. "And you do realize that this will be all over the news, right? The tabloids are gonna go after you like piranhas and it's all because of me." Hadley said in a frustrated tone, shaking her head. Her heels clicked against the concrete as she made her way through the streets of New York, Tony a few steps behind her. Hadley's eyes began to swell with tears and she sharply inhaled, hugging herself. "He could have really hurt you, Tony. Don't you realize this? And my mother, god, she could find me now. Who's to stop her from getting me and dragging me back there?" Hadley's voice cracked as a cry escaped her lips. She exhaled shakily and leaned against a building, tears running down her cheeks. Her body shook but especially her hands. She whimpered, holding her hands out in front of her as a small black cloud formed in her hand. "I can't go back there, Tony. I can't, they'll kill me. Or worse..." Hadley spoke with a broken voice. She sniffled and lowered her hands, extinguishing the black cloud in her hand.

Tony let out a sigh, placing a hand against her forehead. The last thing he wanted was to argue with Hadley now. All he wanted was for them to get into the limo and to go to his place and just order some takeout food or something. Glancing at Hadley he raised a brow. “Of course I would, Hadley. But I also know when you’ve got things under control. I had that under control, babe. I saw his punch coming.” Meaning that Hadley had nothing to be afraid of because Tony wouldn’t have gotten hurt. Still he thought her protectiveness over him was more than adorable. Didn’t mean it had to result in her getting punched in the face over an ex though. Tony would have gladly taken the punch instead of her if need be. He was use to that kind of pain. He had an arc in his chest for a reason. Before they could continue on with their talk a loud screaming sound came out of no where. Turning his head he saw Ricky fighting against the police officers in an attempt to break free and get to Hadley. The man really was a dumbass. Oh well. Tony would personally see to it that he went to jail for a long, long time for how he treated Hadley. No man like that should be able to walk the streets and there was no way Tony was going to risk him finding out where the blonde lived and take her away when Tony wasn’t around. If there wasn’t any police or civilians around he probably would flip the bastard off for ruining their night. Instead he simply followed after Hadley. “Yeah I know. Wouldn’t be the first time and I’m sure it won’t be the last. And it’s not because of you Hadley, don’t say that.” If it wasn’t for her stupid ex showing up than none of this would have happened. Simple as that. When they -well more like Hadley- stopped Tony stood and listened to everything the blonde had to say. He understood her fear, but she couldn’t spend her life like this. Moving over to her he easily took her into his arms. “Come on, Hadley. You know I’m not going to let them take you like that.” And if they ever did manage to he would fight tooth and nails to get her back.

Hadley looked up at Tony with a shaky breath as he spoke. She let out a soft cry as he engulfed her body in a hug. He held her, just like she needed at the moment. She felt as if the whole world was against her sometimes but small moments like this, with Tony, she felt invincible. He was her protector, as much as she still refused to let him in. After these two months, they seemed to know each other so well. She knew the way he liked his coffee and what he ordered everytime they went to IHOP in the middle of the night. She smiled softly at the memory as she surrendered herself to Tony's embrace. She hugged him back, her arms wrapping around his body and grasping his shoulder blades gently. She buried her face in his chest and let out a shaky breath. They understood each other. She could read him as easily as she could read a book now. She wouldn't admit it to herself but she was in love with him. A part of her knew it. And that played a major factor in her fear in losing him. What if one day he decided she wasn't enough? Or that she was too much of a mutant freak for his liking? Their future was still so uncertain and Hadley was terrified. She was scared of alot of things. One of the main ones, being her mother. She was afraid her mother had seen her on TV when she fought with the Avengers against the aliens. She had expected her to find her and hunt her down. But she hadn't, which Hadley found odd. But she knew her mother better than that. She knew it would be better to be cautious than forget about her mother and get caught one day. Who knew how much worse her torture would be if she was captured again? Hadley moved to tangle her fingers in Tony's cropped hair as she sniffled. She knew her tears must have soaked his shirt but Tony didn't seem to care. His words seemed to echo in her head and she slowly pulled from the embrace, her blue gaze lifting to meet his.

"You promise?" Hadley whispered softly as their hands clasped together and their fingers intertwined. Her blue eyes sparkled in the moonlight and her blonde curls cascaded down her back almost like a waterfall. Her lips were parted in a soft inhale as Tony spoke and her lips then curled into a bright smile. She leaned up and kissed him deeply, her hands on his chest as their bodies seemed to melt together as they kissed.

Adelaide knew her boyfriend. She knew the difference between him being upset about something and him being angry. When he was upset he was practically like a puppy, all sad eyes and pouting. However when he was angry that’s when he started being more distant. She didn’t want to exactly say Steve was a clingy boyfriend but he certainly didn’t like not being around her for this long. Ever since they had their names cleared and weren’t consider traitors that needed to be turned in he had been distant towards her. It was over a week now and frankly it was starting to get ignoring. She bought ignoring situations when she didn’t want to confront someone about it was her thing. The saddest part was that this was all over something that had happened decades ago. Long before Steve was found in the ice and awoken.

Years ago Adelaide had worked for Hydra. Not the best time in her life she would admit it but at the time she hadn’t cared about who she was working for, as long as she got paid. During her time there she would often go on missions with the Winter soldier who she now knew was Steve’s friend from before he was in ice. Long story short Adelaide and this James guy use to be fuck buddies. Working in this business was hard and sometimes you just needed a release. It was usually spontaneous. Most of their suits would stay on and she never saw beneath his mask or knew what his real name was and vice versa. After she quit Hydra she never saw him again and considering the fact that it was now in the early two thousands she had assumed that he would be dead. Steve hadn’t entirely been all that pleased when she found out which technically wasn’t her fault since she had told him in the beginning that he wouldn’t want to know but since he was Steve and he was so stubborn he just had to know and now he was ignoring her. Well Adelaide didn’t like being ignored so of course she tracked Steve down and was going to confront him about this.

Walking down the steps that led to the basement Adelaide nearly rolled her eyes. Of course he would be in the gym of all places. At least it was a private gym and it wasn’t full of people. She made it down the stairs just in time to see Steve break the punching bag off it’s chain and watched as it flew to the ground. She also may or may not have stood there for a few extra moments just checking him out. Could she really be blamed though? Seeing hot guys workout instantly made them hotter in her eyes. “You know if you keep breaking those punching bags you’re wventually going to have to start paying for them.“ The dark haired beauty stated teasingly, leaning back against the wall and setting her cool gaze on him. When he simply looked up in the mirror and glanced at her before returning back to fixing the punching bag Adelaide frowned. Her eyes narrowed into feline like slits and she pushed off the wall to walk towards him. The heel of her boot filling the silence.

Stopping a few feet away from him she placed a hand on her hip, jutting it out slightly. “Seriously Steve? You can’t seeiously still be mad at me about your friend.” He was acting as if he had cheated on her or something. This was a thing that happened years ago. What did he want her to tell him that he was better at sex because he was if that’s what he wanted to hear. Pushing her hair behind her back she rolled her eyes, annoyance filling her features. “Come on Steve I love you and all but you’re seriously acting as if I belong to you or something.” And Adelaide belonged to no one. Yes they were dating and he was hers as much as she was his but she didn’t belong to him. There was a difference.

Hadley had spent the past few months with Tony, afraid to admit her feelings for him. She practically lived with him in Stark Tower, as did Walter. She had seen how upset Tony had gotten when Steve told her that he was dating Adeline. She had guessed it was because she and Tony weren't technically dating yet. But Hadley was just very torn with herself. She wanted to finally surrender and let herself love Tony. But a large part of her was terrified of things not working out. She was so scared of Tony choosing another woman, specifically Pepper. She was his ex-girlfriend and they did work together. The fear was always in the back of her mind and she often lay awake at night because of it. She could see herself spending the rest of her life with Tony. With his cheesy jokes and his snarky responses, to the way he fidgeted with any kind of tight pants she bought him as a joke. She had come to love him over these past few months, but she was afraid to take that leap and just fall. She wanted Tony to catch her and lift her up. But she was unsure if he would. She knew either way this went, she had to learn to trust Tony. She had slowly been getting closer to Tony. All their restless nights where they would just talk or he would watch cheesy vampire movies with her to make her feel better. She had introduced him to face masks and moisturizer and he had introduced her to inventing, which she had taken an affinity to. She seemed naturally gifted at figuring out how things worked. They often stayed in his lab. She would be in a pair of shorts and a lazy shirt, sitting on his desk eating frozen yogurt. And then he would whine at her for a bite and she'd dot a bit of the sweet on his nose. Which he would just laugh and press his nose to her neck in retaliation and the two would just laugh and wrestle. They hadn't had sex yet, Hadley was afraid to surrender herself to him in that way. What if that was the only thing he wanted from her? She struggled with this thought daily but as time went on, she came to realize, maybe just maybe, Tony was the man for her. She hoped he was. She was already so invested in his heart and his little quirks and even knew about the new projects he was working on that he boasted about. She truly loved him.

And now, here she was. In Stark Tower, being guided by Tony since she had a blindfold over her face. Tony had insisted the dinner be a surprise and he had set it all up by himself. He had even cooked for her, which she found to be very adorable. All she knew, was that Tony told her to dress for a casual date and to be prepared to be swooning. She giggled at the memory of his note. Tony guided her along, walking behind her with his hands on her hips. She giggled and they shared giddy comments together, so clearly in love with one another. She stumbled a bit but Tony caught her and balanced her out, kissing her cheek. She blushed brightly. She felt him move forward slightly and pull a door open and she stepped out, her wedges making soft thuds on the concrete floor. She guessed they had stepped outside by the sudden chill of the air and the breeze on her cheeks. She tried to speak up but Tony hushed her with a soft chuckle. She laughed and bit her lip nervously. They walked a few more steps and then Tony pulled her to a stop. He took a deep breath before removing her blindfold. Hadley inhaled and opened her eyes, having to blink rapidly to adjust to the lighting from the darkness. But when she saw the scene before her, she gasped. She felt the tears instantly brim her eyes as she took a step forward, taking in the beauty of the date Tony had set up. A soft laugh left her lips as her hand was on her chest. She felt the air leave her lungs and she felt her heart swell. God, she was so head over heels for this man. "Oh God, Tony. This is so beautiful." Hadley said tearfully with a sniffle. Tony smiled at her and she smiled back at him. She rushed over to him and wrapped her arms around him, hugging him tightly. Her arms wrapped around his shoulders and she buried her face in his neck, seeming to lose herself in his touch for a moment. She inhaled his scent and exhaled slowly, her heart pounding against her chest. She pulled away from the hug and looked deeply into his eyes before she kissed him deeply. The kiss only lasted a few moments before she smiled in the kiss and they both sat down to eat, sitting on opposite ends of the small table.

Steven " Steve " Grant Rogers

    Thirty | Super Serum | Masculine ♂ | Captain America | Single

Steve had been dating Adeline for a few months now, two or so. They had helped save Bucky together, a man he had no idea existed until he ran into him by chance. The two men had a very rocky reunion but once they got past the brainwashing, he was still the same man he had been before. If not a little more broken than before. Steve and Adeline had both worked to help free Bucky from the grasps of people who seeked to control him and had also taken down HYDRA at the same time. They had a very interesting few months and first few dates. But Steve supposed that came with the job title of hero. He was Captain America, after all. And he imagined he would be for a while longer. He aged very slowly and he doubted he would age at all that was noticeable twenty years from now. But he felt a very large rift between the three. Bucky, Steve, and Adeline. He had been very glad and happy to have Bucky when he found he still lived. They had a very brotherly moment and they seemed to be able to return to how they had interacted before. And then he found out Adeline had once been friends with benefits with Bucky and that seemed to be the thing that caused the both of them to be on edge on missions. The fact that neither of them said anything about it made him angrier than anything. He wouldn't be this angry if they had told him sooner, rather than wait until after the mission was finished, months later. He had been shutting Adeline out ever since, mostly just ignoring her and shutting her out. He was hurt. It was what he did when he was angry. He became icy as opposed to his usual warm personality. And he worked out his anger physically, always. It had been what he had done when Adeline had refused him after they had sex for the first time. He had thrown himself into mission after mission and when he found out Adeline had been pregnant with his baby and another man had caused her to miscarry, he nearly marched off and tore the man's head off. He didn't like to admit it but he knew he had a temper. He had a dark side, no matter how hard he tried to hide it. He wanted to be better than his dark side, to not give into it. But this anger pumping through him like a drug made it especially hard. So he lost himself in his anger.

He had been working out more than usual, he needed to. He felt if he didn't punch something, he might give into his darkness. He'd rather punch the punching bag than lose himself in a mission and his true self may never emerge again. He was in the basement now, losing himself. He had his hands wrapped with a bandage to keep his knuckles from being too injured. The bandages hugged his hands and made his hands look that much more tough and hard. He sighed, sweat dripping down his face and down his back. He had been working out for hours without stopping, ignoring Adeline when she had called him. He couldn't speak to her, not now. He might say something that he would regret. He grunted loudly and punched the punching back with an intense strength. He panted softly, his blue eyes swimming with pain and anger. He huffed out and punched the bag once more, imagining an array of people he wished could be in place of the punching bag. Red Skull, the man who took Bucky from him in the first place. Nick Fury, for dragging him out of the ice and bringing the tesseract back into the world. Loki, for nearly bringing his world to ruin and making him nearly lose Adeline. Tony, for always having something snarky to say and seeking out Hadley. And then last, the one he actually regretted, Bucky. He knew it had been years ago but the fact was, they both kept it from him. He let out a frustrated scream with that punch, using all of his strength. The punching bag flew from its chain and landed on the dusty ground a few feet away. He panted heavily and glanced up as he saw Adeline had entered the room. He clenched his jaw and brushed her off, moving to grab the punching bag. He tuned out her words and picked up the taped up punching bag. He brought it back to the chain and grunted as he pulled it back on the hook. He huffed out and let his head fall back slightly. He cracked his neck and moved to his duffel bag he had brought back with him. He winced as he moved back to remove the bandaged from his knuckles. He looked up at Adeline as she stood a few feet away, the hand on her hip. Despite being angry with her, he had to admit, her attitude was always adorable. The ghost of a smile crossed his lips before he looked down at his hands as he unwrapped them. He winced as he pulled the dirty bandages completely off, revealing his broken and bloody knuckles. He had been punching the punching bag with all of his strength for hours. He knew a few knuckles had to be broken. He shook his hands, as if that would get rid of the pain. He moved to clean his knuckles with a sharp inhale as pain radiated through his hands.

Her next words caused him to look back up at her. He scoffed and shook his head, moving his focus back to fixing his hands. "But that's the thing. You do belong to me." Steve spoke, his voice gruff and the pain he felt was clear. He set down the peroxide as it stung his knuckles and he clenched his jaw. He looked up to Adeline, his blue eyes turning to stone. "And I belong to you, completely. That's how these things work, Addie. And honestly, I'm more mad that you two waited to tell me. For months." Steve said, his voice as sharp as a knife. He sighed and shook his head, moving to bandage his hands once more to punch the punching bag some more. "And I'm also mad because I'm jealous." Steve admitted as he moved back to the punching bag after wrapping his hand. He grunted and punched the bag hard, the pain in his eyes. He felt the tears brim his eyes but instead of admitting to them, he punched the bag harshly once more. "I'm jealous that Bucky had you first. And any other man that did. And I know that selfish and stupid but I just-!" The tears were too heavy to hold back now and he grunted, pulling the punching bag to a halt. He held the bag there for a moment, staring hard at the ground as he tried to fight his tears. "I just love you so much, the thought of anyone coming before me makes me queasy because they probably hurt you and didn't treat you the way you deserve. And that makes me want to wring out their necks because you deserve nothing less than the world." Steve exhaled shakily as he lightly punched at the punching bag once more, refusing to meet Adeline's gaze.

Adelaide couldn’t help but to scoff, her arms moving to cross over her chest. She looked away annoyance in her blue eyes at Steve’s words. He just didn’t get it. Adelaide didn’t like the idea of being owned. It made her think back to when she was a child and to the organization that had owned her. They destroyed her innocence, turned her into a killing machine that didn’t feel capable of loving anything or anyone. The idea of being owned, even if it was by someone she was madly in love with, made her feel dirty. She knew it was Steve and knew that he didn’t mean it in a literal sense as if he controlled everything she did or could do but it was mainly the idea and yes she knew that it was silly but she was still working on bettering herself. She still had a long way to go. “Well I figured it would be better to wait until all the shit was handled before telling you!” After all it was obvious now how he would have reacted had they told him earlier and that wasn’t something they had needed at the time with everything else going on. “I’ve already apologized for not telling you sooner what more do you want me to do? Go back in time and time and stop me and him from hooking up?” It wasn’t like that was possible so they just had to learn to deal with it and move on. It wasn’t like she and James were about to be friends or anything like that. They both brought up bad memories for each other and frankly it just wasn’t a good idea to be friends with someone you use to fuck while you were dating his best friend.

You’re jealous?” Adelaide asked, raising an eyebrow at Steve’s words. She didn’t exactly think he had any reason to be jealous. Any of the guys she’s slept with in the past were typically just one night stand. The longest being James and her ex that dumped her for someone else. Not exactly people she would want to be jealous over. Even then though she still felt her heart clench at the sound of his voice. She never wanted to be the reason Steve was in pain. Well unless it was during a specific situation. “Stevie.” She cooed softly, a small sad smile lifting her lips. He was so cute, it was nearly humorous at times. Adelaide crossed the final distance needed in order to reach him. She gripped his shoulder and turned him around. Instead of keeping her hands there she lifted them up in order to run her thumbs over his eyes to get rid of his tears. “You need to stop this, baby. This isn’t healthy. You can’t keep letting your anger out like this. Plus trying to take care of your hands is like trying to run a small business.” It wasn’t healthy and would just lead to complications in the future. “I appreciate you wanting to honor me and all but not like that. You can honor me by just being you.” That was all she needed after all. No one else mattered as much as Steve. She would go to the ends of the earth for him.

Just then a mischievous smirk appeared on her lips. She moved on hand to grip the back of his neck while the other rested on his shoulder. Her tongue darted out to lick her lips in a near hungry way as her eyes closed halfway in a seductive gaze. “Besides you don’t have any reason to be jealous.” Steve and Adelaide has barely any time to be alone for the past few weeks and then when they did he was mad at her about James. Needless to say she missed him and a shiver ran down her body at just the thought of him. She leaned forward, pressing her lips into the side of his neck. She pressed kisses up his neck lazily until she reached his ear. She nipped at his earlobe playfully before whispering in his ear. “None of them could ever make me scream their name as loud as you can. Or make me feel as good as you do.” She promised, dropping one hand to grab his and place it firmly on her hip. She wanted him and simply prayed that he wanted her just as much, if not more.

    Anthony ‘Tony’ Edward Stark

Thirty Eight | His Suit | Masculine ♂| Iron Man | Complicated

The last few months had been a whirlwind for the billionaire. He had spent nearly every second of it with Hadley. She practically lived at his place now, even her cat that was always staring at him across the counter creepily at random times of the day. Needless to say it was not fun to come downstairs to get some water only to turn the light on and be frightened by the sight of a cat just staring at you and sitting completely still. It was like being in The Godfather almost. Despite her strange cat Tony knew that he had fallen for Hadley. Which was something he had needed to process for a while before completely accepting it. He had spent the majority of his life losing people that he loved. Loved his parents, lost to a car crash. He had loved Pepper more than he had loved anyone else before her and had wanted a life with her, she broke up with him because she couldn’t take the stress of being with him anymore. A part of him felt bad at times for how things ended between them. Before he and Hadley had gotten really serious sometimes he would wonder if she would have ever tried coming back to him. He had felt guilty about the part of him that had wanted her too at first. Tony had came to terms that no matter how hard he tried a part of him would always love Pepper. She had been the first person he and loved, the first person to put up with his constant bullshit and helped him through so much. Especially after Afghanistan. He could never really repay her for all the good she’s done in his life and while he would never fully get over her he learned to move on with Hadley and to respect Pepper’s decision.

He had a surprise for Hadley and he couldn’t wait for her to see it. He led her through the building carefully, constantly having to make sure she didn’t fall. Perhaps blindfolding her wasn’t the best idea since either way she wouldn’t know what was going on but he was Tony and he needed that dramatic flare and suspense. Before long they made it to the top where a starlight dinner awaited them. He carefully moved to untie the scarf from around her eyes and truthfully he could say that her reaction was one of the best things he had ever witnessed in his entire life. The kissing was a nice bonus as well. They both went to take a seat and Tony leaned back into his chair with a proud smirk. He had something in his pocket he was going to bring out soon. “I’m glad you like it, Haddie. Took me three tries to get the food right.” Tony had never been the best when it came to cooking, that’s what chefs and takeout were for, but he had wanted everything tonight to come from the heart, his heart specifically.

Hadley sat opposite of Tony, tucking her dress underneath her. She scooted in her chair and looked to the man she loved with sparkling eyes. She smiled widely at his words and a giggle escaped her lips, knowing how terrible he was at cooking. And the fact that he cooked tonight meant the world to Hadley. It showed that he made an effort for her, which she felt matter more that most. She felt she could trust Tony now, not just because of this dinner but they had been taking things slow and he had been so patient with her about everything. He understood her fears of going into this kind of thing again and supported her. She was glad to have him and was glad to have seen a man behind the mask. She didn't see Tony Stark, a brilliant billionaire. She saw just Tony, the man she loved. The goofy man that always insisted on making a spectacle of himself and always being charismatic as ever. He was everything good they said in the papers but she saw much more. She saw past the mask. She saw the lovable man, not the playboy. She saw the man broken by war, not the war hero. She saw how everything truly affected him and she could honestly say that she trusted him completely. She actually felt that soon, she'd be able to admit she loved him and get that out into the open. She knew it was something he so desperately needed to hear. But she liked to show him how she felt, with actions. Until she was ready to say those three words. The words she had never truly meant until now. She had never loved Ricky, she saw that now. She may have deluded herself into thinking so but she was just infatuated with him. But what she had with Tony, it was real. It was something that she felt in her gut. She knew that she needed Tony, just as much as he needed her. She watched him from across the table, her blue eyes shimmering with happiness and love. She studied every feature of his face, almost seeming to memorize it. She was afraid she was going to lose him, after all. They were both heroes. They were both constantly in danger all the time. But, she supposed they had both accepted that when they began to fall for each other. Hadley would always be a hero, that is, until she retired when she had kids. If she had kids, which she was hopeful for. She wanted this whole life with Tony, marriage, kids. She could see it now. And it made her smile.

Hadley moved to drink some of the white wine from her glass, looking at Tony through her lashes. "So what is the special occasion tonight? Did you invent something else and you're excited to show me?" Hadley guessed as she set her wine glass down, her eyes lighting up. She loved inventing with Tony. She always knew he had one new project after the other and they spent countless hours down in the lab. Whether it was inventing, or goofing off, or making out. She smirked at the memories. She looked back to Tony before looking down to the food he had made. Her stomach rumbled. She smiled. "This looks delicious, Tony. Thank you." She said before picking up her spoon and taking a bite of her garlic mashed potatoes. She sighed happily, satisfied by the taste.

Steve gripped the punching bag, his bandages now beginning to seep through with blood. He winced and exhaled shakily, his entire body shaking. Shaking from the jealousy he felt, from the anger. He was angry at them for not telling him. He was angry that any man had ever hurt his Addie and he wished he had been out of the ice then, to rescue her and carry her off into the sunset. He felt the tears roll down his cheeks then and he blinked, swallowing thickly. He turned to Adelaide when she pulled him to face her. He refused to meet her gaze for a moment, until she moved to wipe the tears from his eyes with gentle hands. He couldn't help the small smile that crept onto his features. He peered at her, silently admiring her beauty as she spoke. He blinked, his gaze following the frame of her face and the curve of her lips. He almost forgot the pain in his hands for a moment. Her words made him crack and he seemed to slowly be returning to the loving Steve he usually was. He sniffled and laughed softly, shaking his head when she mentioned repairing his hands was like running a small business. She had a point, if he was being honest. He really had to find some other way to let his anger out. But most ways he knew weren't in a healthy way and he wouldn't dare do such things. Especially now that he had Addie. His blue eyes met her when she spoke again, about honoring her. His brows furrowed for a moment but then his face relaxed. He couldn't help the small smile that played at his lips. He had to admit, the thought of going back in time and strangling her exes was a fun thought. He nearly chuckled at his own joke. But, he also knew that Addie was right. Again. He had no way of changing the past so he could only focus on the future, their future. He wanted to give her anything and everything she wanted and he was determined to give it to her, no matter how hard he had to work. He blinked and reached down with his injured hand, his thumb gently running across her cheekbone. It was then he saw the change in her demeanor. He looked into her eyes as she resting on hand on her shoulder and the other on the back of his neck. He let out a low chuckle, his blue eyes sparkling in the dim lighting. Her words and feline-like behavior caused him to raise a brow with a deep smirk.

"Oh really?" His voice was gruff and deep, a low chuckle bubbling from his throat. She pressed her chest into his and kissed up his neck and he let out a playful growl, similar to one an alpha male wolf would let out. His eyes lit with a fire as he looked down at her black curls. His hands gripped her hips when she nipped at her ear and he narrowed his eyes. Her words caused his eyes to roll closed and he moved to remove his hands from her hips but she promptly placed them back on her hips. He snickered. "I'm still mad at you, Addie." Steve chuckled softly.

Adelaide simply raised a brow at her boyfriend’s words. What he said made her snicker. “You really expect me to believe that, Stevie?” She taunted, slowly trailing her hands back up his muscular arms to instead lazily wrap around his shoulders. The dark haired beauty honestly found it a little cute that he thought he could trick her into thinking he was still mad at her. They may not have been dating for a long time but she knew Steve well enough to know him when he was mad and him smiling and chuckling was definitely a sign of him not being mad. Licking her lips she hummed quietly, tilting her head back slightly. “But if you’re so mad than show me.” She taunted playfully, her eyes slanted and mischievous. Adelaide moves to stand on her tippy toes, leaning into his ear. “Show me how much I belong to you.” Her voice was like a purr a satisfied cat would make, her hands gripping slightly at the shirt he was currently wearing. The temptress pulled back slightly, she looked into Steve’s eyes with a flirtatious smile on her lips.

Tony was glad that Hadley was enjoying the dinner he made for her. It was known that he wasn’t that great of a cook, he never had to really cook for himself before. After all he was a billionaire and grew up with maids and nannies. The whole nine yards but he needed this dinner to be from him. Not from someone who was only doing it to get a nice paycheck. “No not tonight, probably tomorrow though.” He joked, resisting the urge to reach into his pocket and touch the promise ring box. He didn’t want to tip her off about him having anything. She seemed to always know when something was up when it came to him but he needed to do his best to be as secretive as possible. “I’m glad you like. At least it isn’t burnt.” Unlike the precious failed attempts that were currently thrown away with Tony denying its existence. He thought he did good though!

Hadley looked to Tony through her lashes and with that charming smile of hers. She had found Tony to be incredibly adorable at times like this, when he showed he really wanted to make an effort for the two of them. She knew it showed he cared and that was what she needed the most at this point in their relationship. She wanted to be able to rely on him, especially since she wanted Tony in her future. She wanted the whole future with him, the house, the kids. And with little moments like this, she felt like she could finally have that. She had wanted that kind of life with someone ever since she was a little girl. Dreaming of a better life was her only way of escaping the life she had before she had managed to escape the facility. She knew she would never allow herself to be brought back there. She'd rather die than go back into her mother's clutches. She felt a shiver run down her back. She turned her blue eyes to Tony with a small smile and she decided to focus on him and this moment. Her past was her past, there was no point on dwelling on it. She knew that there was no way of changing her past. But she knew she could change her future, for the better. Tony was her future. He was the man she loved. She had to remain strong for him and be open with him and learn to fully trust him. She would not let herself lose him. She wrinkled her nose in amusement when Tony spoke that the special occasion or special invention was saved for tomorrow. She knew he was joking of course but she knew this only made her curiosity grow. She leaned closer to him as she took another drink of her white wine. She looked at him, her blue eyes sparkling with love in the light. She smiled softly at him, lovingly and one that shined like the sun. She brushed her blonde curls from her face and moved to eat her food, finishing her mashed potatoes within a few minutes.

Tony's next words made her giggle just after she took another sip of her wine. She looked to Tony once more, a playful smirk on her lips. "I'm just glad that I get a break, as well as your cooks." She poked fun, a laugh leaving her lips as she began to cut into the chicken that Tony had made for her.

The billionaire placed a hand on to his chest, feigning a look of mock hurt. Though it quickly turned into a large grin as he spoke. “Now why would I cook when I can eat what you make. We both know you’re a way better cook than me.” Of course her cooking wasn’t the only thing of hers he wanted to eat but he wasn’t going to think to hard on that thought. The last thing he needed right now was to get riled up. He would admit to himself that it was kind of hard being celibate and waiting on Hadley to want to have sex. It was easier after he and Peggy broke up because he was alone ninety nine percent of the time and busied himself with work and building but it was more difficult now. Hadley was here every single day and how was he not suppose to think about having her when she looked like that. Even in some sweat pants and an old messy t-shirt she was gorgeous. How he hadn’t died yet he wasn’t sure. Though he did understand her reasoning behind it. He was known as a playboy, even though any girl he had been seen with after breaking up with Peggy, and starting seeing Hadley had just been arm candy. They never kissed, or did anything sexual. They were just there to be his date for the night and that was it. Tony was sure Hadley wanted to make sure he was serious before giving him her body. Hopefully this would show her that he was, in fact, serious about them.

The ring he has bought for her burned a imaginary hole in his pocket. Licking his lips he tried his best to calm himself down. He wasn’t entirely use to opening himself up like this to anyone. But Hadley was different. He wanted to open up to her. To share things he hadn’t shared with anyone else before. She was incredibly special and he wanted her to know that. “Hadley.” He dug into his pocket, digging out the box that held the ring. “You know how much I care about you. That you’re the most important person in my life and even though we may not be dating yet, I one hundred percent plan on staying with you as long as I possibly can. So I got you a little something.” He held the box out and opened the box, revealing the ring that was inside. He decided to crack a joke to try and relieve his nerves. “No I’m not proposing-“ Not yet at least. “it’s just a promise ring, baby.

Hadley giggled when he pretended to be hurt by her comment. He then commented on her being the better cook out of the two of them and she couldn't argue against that. She just smiled and sipped on her wine, her blue eyes meeting his gaze. Her eyes shimmered with adoration and trust and she knew now, that she was willing to give her heart to Tony. She wanted a future with him and she wouldn't let her fears get in the way of her life anymore. She wanted to be with him, completely and truly. She flipped her blonde curls over her shoulders effortlessly and a small smirk played at her lips. Hadley had been through plenty of hurt and she was afraid of getting hurt again. But she also didn't want to allow herself to be burdened by her past mistakes. Her mother had been a cruel woman and likely never cared about her in the first place. Her ex-boyfriend was just an abusive user and didn't care about anyone but himself. Tony was none of those things. He was patient. He was loving with her. And while he was a bit arrogant at times and cocky, she still knew he was a good man. A good man trying to make the world a better place. She admired that and that was a reason why she loved him. They both wanted to improve the world and make it better for the world they would leave behind for their children and grandchildren. She knew they had the same interests in mind and that only brought her closer to Tony.

Hadley pursed her lips after sipping on her wine as she looked to Tony. He seemed... nervous. She frowned in thought. What could he possibly be nervous about? She watched him with concern in her blue eyes. She crossed one leg over the other and studied him closely. He seemed to have something on his mind but was just anxious to say it aloud. She blinked, her lips curling into a soft smile as he spoke her name. She felt her heart thunder against her chest as Tony began his speech. Her eyes widened and tears brimmed her eyes. She softly gasped and watched as he pulled out the box and opened it. She saw a ring inside and the tears silently rolled down her cheeks. She laughed softly, in utter shock as she placed a hand over her racing heart. Tony spoke, saying he wasn't proposing. She hadn't thought he was. And then he said it was a promise ring. That was what she thought it was. Her heart swelled and she smiled ear to ear. She sniffled, tears running down her cheeks. "Oh Tony, I have no words. This is..." Her voice cracked and she bit her bottom lip. "I love it, it's so beautiful." She sniffled and her hands shook.

Tony couldn’t even explain the relief he felt at Hadley’s joy. The man released a breath he hadn’t realized he has been holding and a grin lifted his lips. “I’m glad you like it because getting your ring size was not easy.” He mused, moving his finger to carefully pull the ring out of his box. Hadley was way to smart to pull a fast one over so Tony knew ever since he got the idea for the ring that he couldn’t ask her for her ring size specifically. He knew for a fact that she would have figured it out if he had asked so he had to get creative. And by creative he means waiting until she was drunk enough to not realize he was measuring her ring finger, but hey, she didn’t need to know that little tidbit. Reaching his hand out he gestured for her to give him her hand. Once her small hand was placed in his larger one he slipped the ring on herfinger, marveling in how it fit perfectly. The billionaire lifted her hand up, placing a kiss on her knuckles. “Well, babe, I do believe I’ve out done myself with this one.” Tony states, pride in his eyes as he looked at her.

Hadley giggled happily when she noticed Tony smile due to her happiness over the ring. He spoke about how getting her ring size wasn't easy and she snickered, guessing he had tried to come up with all kinds of ways to get her ring size. Otherwise, she would have caught on very early on about what his plans were. She sniffled, tears running down her cheeks silently. They were tears of joy. Hadley had never felt this loved and she never wanted it to stop. She felt that now, after all this time, that she could trust Tony. He had proven himself with this ring and she hoped that she wasn't trusting him just for him to hurt her anyway. But, she decided that she was willing to take that risk. She wanted to be with Tony, emotionally and physically. She nearly bit her lip at the thought. Hadley watched as he moved to remove the ring from the small box delicately, as if the ring was made of glass. She giggled to herself at the sight and gently brushed her loose curls behind her ears. She bit down on her lip as she watched him with sparkling eyes. Tony motioned his hand simply and she gladly placed her hand in his and she felt her heart swoon at the simple action. He held her hand for a moment, their hands fitting together like two puzzle pieces meant for each other. And then he moved to slip the beautiful and dazzling promise ring on her finger. It sparkled like a star in the lights illuminating their date. And it fit perfectly. She blushed deeply when Tony lifted her hand and kissed her knuckles. She felt her heart flutter and she met his gaze with a gentle smile. He mentioned that he had outdone himself with this one and she couldn't help but laugh at his words. She nodded in agreement before she moved to hold his face in her hands. She caressed his cheekbones for a moment, staring into his eyes. She then leaned in and kissed his lips. Passionately. She was deep with her kiss but tender all the same. She gently pulled away after a few moment and exhaled, slowly rolling open her eyes to meet his gaze. She smiled happily. "I love you, Tony..." She finally confessed, her heart thundering as she felt the air leave her lungs. Her eyes searched his, trying to gauge what his reaction would be.

After the kiss Hadley gave him Tony was all grins, keeping his hand placed on the back of her neck while his thumb lazily stroked the skin there. Just as he was about to open his mouth to say something, she beat him to it and her words cause his mouth to gaps open for a second as he stared at her in disbelief. It was almost like the man had forgotten how to properly breath as he stared at Hadley, her words still processing in his head. Perhaps it was due to his feelings of self doubt his entire life but whenever someone said those words to him he couldn’t help but to disagree, or simply believe that they shouldn’t. He knew he needed to work on it but he had never been the biggest fan when it came to therapy. Besides what would he tell the therapist? That he nearly died multiple times within the past few years and had a glowing arc in his chest as proof of it? No, he’d rather just deal with his problems himself. Clearing his throat he tried his best to form the words he wanted to say. “Hadley, I-“ His throat got caught as he spoke and he groaned softly, frustrated at himself. Taking a moment to calm down and get his act together he sat back up. This was what he wanted this entire time right? He couldn’t let his feelings of ruin this for him. “I love you too, blondie.” He confessed, his lips tilted up in a sly grin. In their time knowing each other Hadley had continuously said that they looked like these characters from the movie Tangled, and he couldn’t help but to agree so he decided to humor her somewhat.

  • Hadley " Haddie " Grayson Matton

Twenty Five | Chaos Magic Reality Warping | Feminine ♀ | Sorceress | Complicated

Hadley had to admit, she was terrified. She had finally confessed to Tony that she had loved him. They weren't even dating yet. But she wanted to let him in, to trust him with her mind, body and soul. She had been hurt before. All she had ever known was pain. But with Tony, all of that seemed to disappear. She felt safe, and warm. She felt loved and appreciated. That was something she would never take for granted. Her own mother had not loved her so it was hard to accept love from anyone else. She feared that would just use her as so many others had. But, Hadley had to be truthful about how she felt. She didn't want to lose Tony because she was too afraid to admit how she felt. She wanted them to be together, truly together. As boyfriend and girlfriend. And in a year or two, they could be together as fiances. And then, as husband and wife. Hadley could see it now, their children running around a home in the country. They would be giggling and playing with Tony while she made them dinner, her own belly swollen to bring another baby into the world. She had lived her entire life dreaming and yearning for a future like that. And now, she could see it so clearly. Their children would be the perfect blend of them two. She could see herself having two boys, and one girl. The oldest would likely be named after his father, knowing deeply Tony had loved him. Even if he never admitted it to himself. And then, they'd have another boy and she hoped he had her blonde hair. She hoped her children would be kind and gentle, not corrupted by how cruel the world could be. She wanted them to become more hopeful as their lives went on. To be the light that the world needed. She held out such hope for her future now. But, she began to doubt it when Tony seemed to be hesitant after she had finally confessed her feelings. Her smile faltered, moving to slightly take a step back. Had he changed his mind now that she had confessed her feelings? She frowned gently, wondering what exactly on his mind. And why he was taking so long to say anything. He had begun to say something, speaking her name. Her heart thundered against her chest and she moved out of his arms, afraid of what his answer might be. Would he reject her? And ask for her to leave and leave the ring? Would she lose Tony just when she had let him in?

And then, he spoke the words she ached to hear. She audibly let out a sigh of relief, her body relaxing slightly. She couldn't help but smile at his little nickname for her. She always did compare them to Rapunzel and Flynn Ryder. With his witty remarks and constant smirk, it was hard not to compare him to the thief in one of her favorite movies. She found that to be one of the things she loved about him. She sighed softly and moved to be in his arms again. She noticed his sly grin and she playfully elbowed him. She laid her head on his shoulder, her warm breath on his neck. She shivered as she thought of his lips on her skin. "I suppose this means your stuck with me now. Especially now I'm finally your girlfriend." She teased, lifting her head to give him a bright grin. She grabbed his hand and began to lead him inside. "And my boyfriend has been working especially hard lately. I'd say he deserves to be rewarded." She purred as she led him toward their bedroom.
