Adelaide watched him stand and caught his shirt with a laugh, tossing it onto the floor. Funny how he was the one commenting on all of this and acting like a jokester. Leaning over him she hummed softly and bent down her hands casually grazing down his large arms. ”If anything you’re the one who wants to see me shirtless. After all you are the one who asked to kiss me, not the other way around.” She purred tauntingly, staring down at the man with a hungry smirk. Her blue eyes were wild and glazed over with want but that would have to come later. She couldn’t jump his bones if he had a large open wound on his stomach now could she? Bending down further she teasingly trailed her lips across his cheek, growing closer to his lips and pulling away just in time once she saw him tilting his head in her direction with the intent to kiss her. Pulling back she swung her legs off the couch and stood. Flipping her hair over her shoulder she snickered at him with a playful smile. Letting out a dramatic sigh she tapped her fingers over her chin. ”Well I suppose it is only fair that I take my shirt off too.” She commented, grabbing the bottom hem of her shirt and slowly starting to pull it up. Locking gazes with him her voice dropped back down into a sultry purr. ”You know equality and all that, jazz.” She stated, pulling the fabric up higher and over her breast to reveal a lacy black bra before pulling the item all the way up and tossing it his way. Winking at him she turned and made her way towards her bathroom. ”Now come on so I can fix your wound.”

Tony had to admit he was starting to get a little pissed. At first he was just having fun messing around but now she was really starting to dig underneath his skin and was hitting topics he would really rather not discuss. He hardly discussed it with himself, much less another human being. He had thought that she had realized that she wasn’t really a big egotistical asshole but looks like he was wrong. Come on! He carried her and held her down so she could get a bullet out of her body, had held her while she was sleep and consoled her after a nightmare, just risked his life not more than twenty minutes ago to save the world and he makes one joking comment and a girls crowd around him, something he can’t control, and he’s back to being an asshole? Jesus fucking christ. And yes he was an atheist and therefore would say that saying as much as he wanted. Holding a finger up he glared at her. ”See that’s were you’re wrong Hadley. I do take things seriously, I just prefer to respond to certain things in a joking manner because that’s my personality. And I did have someone I let in who cared about me, my mom and she died years ago in a car crash.” Half the shit he said wasn’t even suppose to sound like a joke it was just the way he paced himself and his sarcastic demeanor. He didn’t become a damn billionaire from being a quote on quote jokester. He got there by working his ass off. Sure he already had connections and was rich before because his father but he made his own company and made a name for himself. Before he was always compared to his dad from his looks to his inventions to anything and now he was his own man. Crossing his arms over his chest he rolled his brown eyes, they were filled with annoyance. ”I don’t think you’re dumb. You’re statements are dumb. There’s a big difference.” When she continued on he felt a small bit of an explosion in him and he narrowed his eyes at her, his arms dropping back down to his side as he walked closer to her.

Chuckling, the sound very far from the amused one he used all the time he stared at her. ”Like you’re really any fucking better.” He hissed our menancingly. He was really sick and tired of her trying to talk down own onnhim as if he was so child in need of scolding. He never took it from his father and he damn sure wasn’t going to take it from someone whi didn’t follow what she preached. ”You’re trying to tell me off for having a mask up to protect myself but you do the same damn thing. You try and walk around with this confident attitude like you don’t give a damn about anyone when you absolutely do and then all you want to do is starting pissing them off over and over again so they’ll step back away from you. At least with me I own up to the fact that I don’t want to be with anyone romantically because I’m worried about how the relationship would turn out but you? You don’t because you’re afraid of hurting them and you look at yourself as if you’re a monster so please tell me how do you have any room to judge me or my life choices?” He snapped at her, at this point not even caring that he possibly hurt her feelings. She didn’t think about his when she started calling him an asshole and saying he didn’t care about anyone. He cared about Rhode, he cared about Pepper even though they weren’t together, and he had cared about his mother before she died that night. He had never cried harder in his entire life. Rolling his eyes he let out a annoyed groan. Looking at the sky he threw his hand up in the air. ”How about you take your own advice before you come to me telling me I can’t have you because I have a mask when you have a mask yourself. Two hours ago you were just sitting with me telling me how thankful you were that I had sat you with while you sleep, something I didn’t need to do mind you, and now you’re back to calling me an asshole. You’re worse than my father was before he died always complimenting me one second and the next telling me I wasn’t doing good enough at something. Make up your fucking mind.”

At his words, she felt her heart sink to her feet. He compared her to his father. She could tell he had an obvious distaste for this father and was hurt by him saying this. Her jaw clenched as she let a shaky breath escape through her lips. Her hurt blue eyes met his as he finished his statement. She felt the tears run down her cheeks and she looked away, sniffling. She moved to hug herself and her breaths became shaky. His words hurt her. They shook her to her core. She whimpered and moved to wiped her tears away from her eyes. She kicked at some pebbles as she exhaled slowly. She pursed her lips and nodded when he said she was worse than his father. She laughed softly and shook her head, looking up toward the sky. She saw grey clouds begin to form and hover over them. She hugged herself tighter. "I may be a monster but I would never compare someone to my mother. So, thanks for that. Proves my point. Goodbye, Tony." Hadley said in a broken voice. She looked up at Tony for a moment, tears and pain in her blue eyes. She sniffled and shook her head, moving to walk off. She exhaled and walked down the street, not daring to look back. She knew this was for the better but damn, he had hurt her so badly. She rounded the corner and she leaned against the building once she was out of his sights. She cried, covering her mouth to contain her sobs. She let out a silent sob as she sank to the concrete. Rain began to fall down and coat the blonde beauty. The water soaked into her hair and into her catsuit, making the suit cold. She shivered a bit, needing a moment before she could go home. She sat like this for a good hour before she stood with shaking legs. She hugged herself, her wet locks clinging to the back of her neck. She hugged herself as she walked to her Brooklyn apartment, which took her about thirty more minutes.

Hadley arrived at her apartment building and stepped inside, slipping off her boots. She sniffled, brushing her wet curls from her face. She shook gently, feeling the cold set in. She climbed up the stairs, heading to the third floor. She came up to her door and grabbed the key from her bra, unlocking her apartment. She shut her front door and locked it behind her, tossing her boots in front of the door. She heard Walter meow and she saw him jump up on the island in her kitchen. She smiled weakly and patted his head. She assumed Nick dropped him off at her apartment once the mission was done and she had to make sure she thanked him for keeping her best friend safe. Hadley stripped off her catsuit and tossed it into the hamper, unsure of how to even wash it. She walked into her bathroom and she turned on a hot bath. She grabbed a bottle of scotch from her kitchen and then back into the bathroom. She lowered herself into the bath and took a big gulp of the scotch. She winced at the sting for a moment but then she relaxed into the hot bath water. She pushed herself under the bath water and ran a hand through her wet hair. She squeezed her eyes shut and let out a scream while under the water, nothing but pain in her body. She felt her entire overwhelmed with this sadness. The same weight on her as the experiments had been. She felt their hands on her, she felt their gunshots, their electroshock therapy. Everything all at once. She let out another scream while under the water, the scream fading into a sob. She pushed herself to be above the water and she gasped, her breathing heavy. She cried into her knees for a few moments before she finished taking her bath. She got out, wrapping a towel around her body and grabbing the scotch bottle. She took another gulp, her eyes red and puffy from all the crying. She went into her bedroom and dried off her body. She slipped on some pajamas and pulled her damp hair into a messy bun. She grabbed the bottle of scotch, taking another big gulp. She hiccuped as she walked to the kitchen. She grabbed some Ben and Jerry's ice cream as she opened the freezer and a spoon. She grabbed her food and her scotch and headed into the living room. She grabbed a blanket and wrapped it around her body as she sat down on the couch. She turned on her TV as Walter curled up next to her.

Hadley flipped through some channels and she landed on Vampire Diaries. She stopped and curled into the blanket, pulling the scotch and ice cream into her lap. It was the episode Damon admitted he loved Elena for the first time but wiped her memory so she could be happy with his brother. She whimpered, feeling the tears stream down her cheeks as she watched the screen unfold. She took another gulp of her scotch with a wince before taking a bite of her ice cream.

Steve raised an eyebrow at the feline-like femme as she touched his muscular arm in a sensual way. He listened to her purred words and held back the deep growl forming in his throat. She was so sexy and alluring. She knew exactly what she was doing, that was for damn sure. He watched her gaze look at his body with want and he wanted to just bend her over the couch and make her scream his name. He smirked at the thought, tilting his head back. He needed a release like that and he was sure Adelaide had no problem giving him that release. He closed his eyes as her lips brushed across his cheek and it took everything in him not to grab her right then and rip her clothes off. Steve let the deep growl out as she moved just in time for her to miss his kiss. He narrowed his eyes at her with hunger and knew she was doing this, just to tease him and make him want her more. But he didn't think that was possible. He wanted her so badly, it made his skin burn. Her playful smile made him clench his jaw. When she spoke and then moved to take off her shirt, he purred at the sight. He saw her toned stomach and her curves which seemed to be perfectly sculpted in all the right places. He eyed her with hunger, a smirk curling on his lips. He watched how the black lacy bra held her breasts up and cupped them perfectly. His mouth watered at the sight. He wanted to do unspeakable things to her body. He caught the shirt with a low chuckle and watched her saunter to the bathroom. He growled playfully, tossing her shirt on the ground. He rushed after her and shoved her against the wall in the bathroom.

He gripped her hips and shoved her curvy body further into the wall. He let out a low growl in her ear and his warm breath traveled from her ear to her neck. He leaned in, leaving hungry kisses on her neck. One of his hands tangled in her dark curls and yanked it back, smirking at the noises she made. He pushed his hips into hers, his pants growing more and more constricted. He moaned her name in her ear before biting gently on her neck. And as quickly as he had begun, he pulled himself from her. He chuckled lowly, panting. He wiped his mouth and lifted his chin and watched her flustered expression with a smirk. "Let's play doctor." Steve said in a husky voice, raising an eyebrow at the goddess.

Adelaide sauntered off to the bathroom, her hips swinging a little more than usually and a giddy feeling washing over her. She could tell the kind of affect she was having on the blonde and needless to say she was absolutely loving every second of it. Grabbing the gold door handle she twisted the knob and pushed the large white door open. She hardly got a step into the bathroom before she felt a pair of hands grab her and shoved her into a wall and a very large body was pressing against hers. Looking up with hooded eyes she smirked at him realizing she had him exactly where she wanted him. Placing her hands against his shoulders she lazily dragged her fingers to the back of his neck with a low hum. By now she was sure she was going to be in for one hell of a night. Tingles shot through her body at the sound of his growl, warmth flooding through her body and shooting straight down to her core. Letting out her own little purr in retailiatin she gripped the back of his neck and pulled him closer if that was even possible. A loud groan pushed past her lips when he yanked her curls back. Biting down on to her lip she painted softly, digging her nails into his skin. She felt him biting into her neck and she almost had half the mind to pull back for just a moment in order to tell him not to leave any hickies on her neck or body. She had always felt like that was a man or woman’s way of trying to claim their partner and she definitely belonged to no one. Before she could he pulled away from her and she was left backed up against the wall and trying to regain her thoughts. For someone who seemed so innocent in person she was quickly realizing that, that man didn’t exist inside the bedroom.

Shaking her head, she smirked at him and at his offer. Seems he was also into roleplaying. How entirely fitting. Placing her hands against his chest she started to push him back to a small stool she had next to the counter top. Making him sit down she trailed a finger across the top his chest. ”How about I play doctor and you be a good little patient and sit still so I can suture you back up.” She hummed playfully, leaning forward to reach behind him to get her medical kit out the cabinet. Pulling back she went through the same process as earlier. Latex gloves, numbing, and suturing the wound back up. Only difference was this time she had to get on her knees to reach the wound because she didn’t have a table or bed in her for him to lay down across but she seriously doubted he didn’t enjoy the view. Once she was done she looked up at him and licked her lips. ”There all better.” She stated and stood back to her feet, throwing the latex gloves away. Running her fingers through her hair she casted a sideways glance towards her bathroom shower, a devious plan concocting in her head. Waltzing over to the other side of the bathroom she bent down to turn the hot and cold facet, adjusting the temperature to her liking. ”I don’t know about you but I could really use a nice, hot, long shower after today. Don’t you agree?” She asked but didn’t turn to look at the man, instead she busied herself by kicking off her boots and making a show of unbuttoning her black latex pants. Pushing the fabric down over her hips she bent down to push them over her legs and off of her wet, kicking then behind her once they were fully off and only then did she turn her head and gave him a look as if asking if he was going to join her.

Tony watched her walk off her a narrowed glaze, silently muttering about how he wouldn’t need to compare her to his old man if it wasn’t true. He almost felt bad in a way, not entirely but he did. His mind kept telling him that it wasn’t his fault and that she had started it by calling him an asshole and saying he never cared about anyone but himself which was entirely not true. He wouldn’t have snapped if she hadn’t of started it but he still felt bad. Maybe this was for the better. She was right he was a playboy who didn’t see the need in settling down anytime soon. He was still relatively young and therefore had time in the future maybe but right now it wasn’t in his agenda. Still he felt a heavy weight on his heart. God was he really going to need to apologize to her, he thought as it began to rain and he closed his mask back up so she could take off back towards his home. If anything she should be apologizing to him not the other way around. He had been nice to her this entire time up until she decided to start taking jabs at him as if she was perfect human being when she clearly wasn’t. He just didn’t think it entirely fair that the man should be the one to apologize if the woman started it but he felt like if he didn’t than she never would and working with her would prove to be not only awkward but difficult.

And so with that he changed his course of direction. Maybe she would let him speak if he brought her some food. Girls liked food right? Or maybe some flowers? No he was sure she was probably hungry after not eating for hours and working her ass off in order to help fight off those aliens. He hoped she liked Chinese, it was the closet thing he could think of that everyone seemed to like. He had yet to see a decent person turn down some quality Chinese food. Especially beef broccoli and noodles. He could survive off of that for the rest of his life if he wanted to. After retrieving the food and noticeably looking weird showing up to the restaurant in his suit but he kind of needed it right now and it would be to much of a hassle to fly home get the suit off, drive her, drive home get the suit back on and fly to Hadley’s apartment. Plus he didn’t mind the stares. In no time he was outside her apartment window, peering through the glass and seeing her on the couch watching some weird vampire show. Women. What was with them and vampires? He would never understand it. Shaking his head he lifted his hand and knocked against the window. He knew in order for him to get into the building the front way she would have needed to buzz him in and she looked like she never wanted to speak to him again so that wasn’t an option. He watched as she stood up curiously and walked over and the annoyed look that appeared on her face when she saw it was him. She moved to close the curtains but he quickly lifted the bag of Chinese as a silent offering to be let in.

Hadley frowned as she heard a knock coming from somewhere in her apartment. She turned, seeing it was her window. She stood, tossing the blankets off of her body. She lived three stories up, who in the hell could be at her window? She approached the window with soft steps and she peered into the window, curiosity in her blue eyes. When she saw that Tony was out there in the rain, she felt her jaw clench. she rolled her eyes, already annoyed that he thought apologizing would make everything go away. She moved to shut the curtains, wanting to shut him out and never want to speak to him again. That was when he quickly lifted the bag of Chinese food. She stopped, turning her blue gaze to Tony. She groaned and pushed open her window. She stepped back, allowing him to come inside. She grabbed the bag of food with a scoff and shook her head. She sauntered back to the couch, grabbing her bottle of scotch. She took another big gulp and narrowed her eyes at Tony. "Don't think just because you're apologizing and bringing me food that I'm gonna sleep with you now." Hadley said with a harsh tone, still angry from an hour or so ago. She opened the bag and set down what she assumed was Tony's food on the table where his spot would be. She grabbed her food out of the bag as she clenched her jaw. She set her food on the table and grabbed her ice cream, standing. She walked to the kitchen and placed it back into the freezer. She didn't want it to melt while she was eating the food Tony had brought. She turned, seeing Tony on the couch and Walter purring and rubbing up against him. She smiled softly at the sight as she tucked some blonde curls behind her ear. She might as well give this a try, right? What's the worst thing that could happen?

Hadley came back into the living room and slipped under the blankets, offering some to Tony. She grabbed her food and began eating it in silence. Her blue eyes watched the screen, resting her chin on her knee. Nothing was said between the two of them but there was a peace to it. It would take her a while to forgive him for his words and she hoped he stuck around long enough to be annoyed by her taking forever. She grabbed her bottle of scotch and offered some to Tony, holding out the bottle to him. She smiled softly, her blue eyes still shimmering with hurt and it was obvious she had been crying for an hour or two. She sniffled and watched him accept the bottle. She decided to speak up. "Tony, I'm sorry for the things I said to you. It wasn't fair of me to say them when you've been nothing but kind to me." Hadley spoke softly and gave him a sad smile. She smiled down at Walter as he curled up at her side, purring. She pulled him into her lap, petting him. She hummed softly, knowing it helped soothe the feline. She then began to sing softly, a lullaby. The lullaby was in French and had been one she learned while she was homeless in a tent city. She knew this must seem weird to Tony but if he was going to spend time with her, he had to understand that Walter came first. She sighed and curled up with Walter, yawning. The alcohol was getting to her and she started to feel dizzy. She hiccuped and Walter jumped out of her lap, crawling onto his cat tree. Hadley hummed and felt her head spin before she took another swig of the scotch. She giggled, leaning her head back. She then moved to snuggle against Tony and she wrapped her arm around his. "You're not a bad person, Tony. I'm just scared of getting hurt." Hadley said and then yawned, her breaths soft. She was on the verge of falling asleep when she forced herself to sit up, rubbing her tired face. She grumbled, grabbing the scotch bottle. She stood as she took another drink, grabbing her phone. She scrolled through and put on some music. It was indie and simple but it made her feel better. She turned off her TV and then plopped down beside Tony once more with a giggle.

Steve felt a shiver run down his spine and a low purr as she shoved him back in the stool and ran her finger down his upper chest. He felt his pants constrict at her words and their gazes locked. He was hungry for her. Every inch of her, all the noises she could make. How she could or would say his name. He smirked at the thought, letting out a low chuckle. He leaned his chin back a bit, his eyes half lidded as he looked at Adelaide as if she was something to eat. He took in a sharp breath when she moved to kneel in front of him and he let out a chuckle, rubbing his face. He shook his head and looked down at her, not really watching what she was doing but imagining what kind of dirty things she could do to him from that perspective. He smirked deeply and bit the inside of his cheek. His hunger for her only grew by the second. As she licked her lips and looked up at him, it took everything not to shove her back against the wall. She stood and he looked up at her, his blue eyes filled with hunger. He stood and watched her curiously as she moved to turn on the shower. At her words, he raised an eyebrow. He lifted his chin, his tongue running across his front teeth. He watched her carefully as she stripped off her boots and watched as she pulled down her pants, watching them slide off of her body. He let out a soft breath, hunger making his breathing uneasy. He smirked and his blue eyes lit up like Christmas when she turned her feline gaze to him. He chuckled, slipping off his boots and then kicked them to the side. He unbuttoned his pants and slipped down his legs. He slipped off his boxers at the same time and tossed them to the side. He heard her words and he smiled deviously. Before she could change her mind, Steve moved toward the shower. He grabbed her waist and pulled her into the shower with him. He shoved her against the shower wall, letting the water run over her naked body. He smiled hungrily as his blue eyes met hers. He then crashed his lips to hers, his hands gripping her hips. He groaned in the kiss and grinded his hips into hers, never being so hungry for someone in his life. He felt her pull his hair and he growled, leaning his head back.

Steve smirked at her, his lips crashing to her lips as his hands moved to roam her body. He growled in her ear as the hot water stung his skin.

Tony let out a relieved sigh when she opened the window. Great that meant he didnt come all the way here for nothing because that would have been a good waste of delicious Chinese food. Somehow managing to climb inside without dropping the food or completely tripping over himself and looking like an idiot he stood tall and proud. Handing her the bag of the food he watched almost amused as she scoffed and took it and walked back to the couch, lifting a hand to press at a button to cause his suit to start to fall off and leave him in his pants and t-shirt from earlier. At her statement he raised a brow. ”Now did I say anything about sex? You know I brought you free food you should at least pretend to be nice to me.” He stayed dryly, casually walking to the couch at a moderate pace as his gaze looked around the apartment. It looked pretty nice. Obviously not what he was use to since he had lived in big mansions his entire life but it was nice and quaint and he supposed fit what he could only assume was her style. Shaking his head he sat down on to the couch watching her walk off into the living room. He felt something warm press against him and he threw a glance down to see her cat pressing against him. Staring at the feline for a moment the man gave in and bent his head down to rub the cat’s head gently for a few seconds. He supposed animals weren’t so bad.

Taking up some of the cover Hadley offered him he took his container and started to eat. Neither of them talked, rather just say in silence with the only sound coming from the cheesy vampire show she was watching and their chewing. His eyes stayed on the show, his brows furrowed into deep confusion. He wasn’t entirely sure what was so hot about someone else trying to make the moves on their brother’s girlfriend but hatever floated her boat he supposed. Who was he to judge her taste in shows. Looking at the bottle of scotch he shrugged his shoulders and thought what the hell. He felt like he could use some alcohol after this shit storm of a day. Taking the bottle he lifted it to his lips and took a long drink of it, silently listening to her words. Well, he was apologizing and he opened his mouth to apologize himself but before he could she started to sing. Frowning for a moment he looked over and saw her singing to her cat. That was really new, he hadn’t seen that before. Handing the bottle back to her he cleared his throat, lifting a hand to run it through his short brown hair. When she moved to snuggle into him he paused for a second wondering if this was a test, she was being serious, or if she was just drunk. Probably all of the above. Sighing he rubbed her back softly. ”Yeah me too.” He stated, watching her turn off the TV and play some music on her phone. Looking at her with a laugh he leaned back into the couch. ”I hope you know how much of a happy drunk you are.

Hadley giggled at his words about her being a happy drunk and she looked at him with sparkling blue eyes. She took another drink from the scotch bottle and winced as it burned her throat. She set the bottle down on the table and sat up, tossing her legs over the side of the couch. She grabbed the fortune cookies and handed one to Tony. She opened her own and cracked the cookie, popping one half in her mouth. She pulled out her fortune as her eyes read over the text. Your happiness is closer than you think. Hadley blushed brightly and held back the urge to shove the paper into her pocket. She decided against it and glanced at Tony, popping the second half of her cookie into her mouth. "What does yours say?" Hadley asked, her blue eyes shimmering with curiosity. In the dim lighting of the apartment, she looked so stunning. The rain in the background making soft thumps on her windows and walls. Her blonde curls were messy and in a bun which kind of seemed to be falling out of place. Her face was bare but there was a glow to her. Her cheeks burned a soft pink and her lips were naturally tinted a soft pink as well. Her blue eyes, which had been filled with tears an hour ago, were bright and swimming with emotions. Happiness, hope, curiosity. The happiness she felt when her and Tony were together. The hope that somehow they could make this work. The curiosity to see if he was really a good man under the mask. Hadley looked at him as he spoke what his fortune was and she blushed, chuckling softly. She crossed one leg over the other and brushed her loose curls behind her ear. She held up her fortune to him, for him to take it and read it. She smiled softly as she watched him reading it. She could truly see herself happy with him. She may not have known him for long but she felt... something with him she had never felt before. It scared the shit out of her but she figured he felt the same way. She reached forward and ran her hands through his dark hair and blushed. She giggled and hid her face in his shoulder, shaking her head. She felt like a damn teenager. She cursed herself internally and exhaled slowly.

Tony reached forward, silently taking the bottle of scotch off the table and lifting it back up to his lips. Leaning the bottle back he took a long swig from the liquid, clenching his eyes shut slightly at how it burned in his throat. A lot of people didn’t realize that men like Tony didn’t get drunk because they liked the taste of alcohol, they got drunk because they liked the feeling of numbness. Grabbing the fortune cookie Hadley handed to it, he cracked his open and pulled the piece of paper out not even bothering to read it. He threw bot pieces of cookies into his mouth and leaned back into the couch with a relaxed sigh. It was weird to think about how they had just been hurling insults to each other nearly two hours ago and were now sitting here like nothing ever happened. He still wasn’t sure whether she actually forgave him or if she was just hammered drunk. Maybe both. It wasn’t until she commented on his fortune that he looked back to the thin piece of paper. Picking it up off his lap he read it out loud. ”You’ll find love where you least expect it.” He stated seemingly unimpressed. It was just another basic and stereotypical fortune that he didn’t put much thought into. He had tried with the whole ‘love’ thing before with Pepper and that didn’t really work out in his favor. Hadley on the other hand seemed to have more belief in the fortunes and held hers up for him to read, his eyebrow raising with his interest. Maybe it had something to do with him not being religious but if she was he wasn’t going to judge. Before he could really comment he felt her running her fingers through his hair and hid her face in his neck. Chuckling lowly he wrapped an arm around her back softly, tugging her closer. Staring up at the ceiling he paused for a few moments lost in thought, his brows furrowed deep and his lips settling into a frown. ”You know..” He started, keeping his gaze locked on the ceiling. ”I had tried dating once before a year ago. She’s my ‘boss’ of sorts and her name is Pepper Potts. It had taken a lot of convincing for me to even get her to agree to go out with me. She had seen all the tabloids and didn’t think much of me personality wise but eventually she agreed and we started dating. Everything was good for a while but eventually she got tired of the whole superhero thing. Don’t get me wrong Pepper is a great woman but I guess the superhero life wasn’t cut out for her. She couldn’t handle the idea of her boyfriend leaving on dangerous missions all the time and possibly never coming back home.” After they broke up he hadn’t really seen a reason to try and date again. No one had challenged him like Pepper until he met Hadley. She was exactly the type of girl he wasn’t use to dealing with and it was throwing him for a loop.

Hadley blinked and looked up at Tony as he spoke up. She felt him tug her closer and she smiled softly, curling up against his body. She pulled the blanket over them and snuggled into him. She looked up at him curiously as he spoke, listening closely to what he had to say. She saw that he was finally opening up and letting the man behind the mask be seen. She smiled softly, so glad to see him opening up. She placed her chin on his shoulder, tilting her head as he finished his story. "I can understand why she felt that way." Hadley said simply, sitting back so she was about a foot away from Tony. She looked at him as she spoke once more. "It's hard for anyone to watch the person they care about in dangerous situations. Firefighters have to do it, cops have to, even military. Some people aren't built for that kind of worry and that's okay. I guess I understand the whole hero thing cause I want to be one myself." Hadley said, seeming wiser than usual. She guessed it was the alcohol, doubting her own intelligence. She sighed, looking at Tony with a soft smile. "My last and only relations ended pretty bad. His name was Ricky and saying he was toxic was an understatement." Hadley muttered with a soft laugh. She looked down at her hands as she nervously bit her bottom lip. "He cheated on me and when I caught him, he hit me and then begged me not to leave. I stayed, like an idiot. And things just got worse." Hadley muttered as she continued to look down at her lap. She brushed her loose curls behind her ear and sniffled. "He mentally and physically abused me and then would turn around and apologize with flowers. I was young, I didn't know any better. I finally got the courage to leave him and when he tried to stop me, I used my powers on him." Hadley exhaled slowly as she looked up at Tony. A tear ran down her cheek and she chuckled softly, wiping it away quickly. "I can cause hallucinations and I made him go crazy. It's still something I feel guilty about to this day and why I feel like a monster, among other reasons." Hadley admitted all of this, hoping it wouldn't scare Tony away.

She laughed nervously and took another long drink of the scotch, shaking her head. She buried her face in her hands and exhaled. "I'm sorry. I'm drunk and when I'm drunk I get honest and talk about my past. I'm sure you don't want to hear about it." Hadley sighed as she sat up, setting the bottle down on the table once more. She looked over at Tony. "If you want to leave, now's your chance. I wouldn't blame you." Hadley said sadly as she gave him a weak smile.

Tony shrugged his shoulders in response. He didn’t really know what her exact reasoning was but what he did know was that she had been a great girlfriend. The one who expected to find in those cheap romance movies, and that wasn’t even going off her looks. Her personality is what made her great. She had always been there when he had his routinely nightmares, would be the first one to drag him away from his work when she noticed he was loosing sleep and looked close to passing out at his desk, had listened to his problems. He wasn’t sure if he would ever find another girl like that. Someone who was willing to put his past behind them and care for Tony like he was a human being. Honestly if he hadn’t of met Hadley he probably would be devising some plan in order to win her back but a part of him felt like Hadley could be the one for him. They seemed to be going through the same things mentally and therefore would understand each other a whole lot better and she was use to this type of life so there wouldn’t be an extreme worry from her whenever he went off on a mission. However he wasn’t sure if he exactly wanted to be a hero. He just wanted to help, didn’t mean he needed to be labeled a public hero. Rubbing his face he slouched back, his brows furrowed once she started talking about her ex. He sounded like a real asshole and like someone Tony would love to her over the head with a chair until he apologized for what he did to her and possibly to any other girl he may have been with out there. No man should ever treat a woman like that. Ever. When she tried to call herself a monster for what she did to the piece of shit Tony immediately shook his head in instant retaliation. He knew for a fact now that she wasn’t a monster. That she was just a person who had been hurt one too many times by the world. A bitch of a mother, men who sexually abused her, and her one and only relationship being a manipulative and abusive asshole. No wonder she was so off put. Grabbing her hand he tugged on it and pulled her into his arms, wrapping his arms around her waist and holding her to him tightly. ”Come on don’t blame yourself like this, Hadley.” He stated, making it clear that he had no intent on just leaving her here like this. She would probably need to force him out at this point. ”You were just doing what you needed in order to protect yourself and get out of that environment. If anything that asshole deserved ten times worse than what he got for what he did to you.”

When Tony grabbed her hand, she looked at him with a soft frown. He tugged on her hand and pulled her to him and she squeaked, surprised to say the least. She curled into his embrace, curling up against his chest. She looked at the arc shining through his shirt and she blinked, watching the glowing blue light. She imagined it was hard to live with the arc. Without it, she knew he would die. This was public knowledge. The shrapnel would pierce his heart and the thought made Hadley wince. She snuggled further into his chest, glad to feel his arms around her. She expected him to run when she told him about Ricky. She expected him to think she wasn't worth all of this trouble and leave. She expected him to call her a monster. But this? This was something she had never had. Someone who understood her. She listened to his words and her hand moved, grabbing his shirt and gripping it. She sniffled at his words, feeling the tears brim her eyes. She felt his arms around her waist and her breathing calmed and she seemed to relax, for the first time in what seemed like years. She brushed her curls behind her ear and pulled the blanket up to her shoulders, submerging herself. "Thank you. For understanding and not running off and calling me a monster." Hadley murmured and looked up at Tony. Their faces were inches apart and her blue eyes met his. She let her eyes flicker to his lips for a split second and she looked back up to meet his gaze. Her cheeks burned a bright pink and she felt a soft breath escape her lips. Her blue eyes shimmered in the dim light and she reached up gently, her thumb caressing his cheekbone.

When Hadley spoke Tony looked down at her. Their faces were so close, he barely would even need to move in order to kiss her but he wasn’t going to. He wanted her to kiss him first. Not because he wanted her to prove she liked him but he wanted to make sure she was okay with it because he would much rather not have to endure another painful slap. It was a miracle his skin wasn’t bruised from the one from earlier. ”No need to thank me. You literally have no reason to be called a monster. You’re brilliant, smart, and a good person. You just need to learn to control her powers some more and you won’t even need to worry about hurting someone.” Tony could tell that she was afraid of hurting people with her powers. He assumed it stemmed from what happened with Ricky and feeling like a monster for making him live through his worst fears which the billionaire still thought wasn’t enough of a punishment for someone like him. Trailing a few fingers through her long blonde hair he smiled softly at her. ”I hope you realize just how beautiful you are.” Hadley pegged him as the type who was also insecure about her looks and well as long as he was here he would keep going on about just how gorgeous she really was because damn. She was beautiful.

Hadley smiled softly at Tony's words, her smile curling into her usually bright and warm smile. She blushed softly at his kind words and she continued to gently caress his cheekbone with her thumb. She liked touching him. She craved touch. She craved affection. After her past, it's what she needed the most. And Tony made her feel safe and warm. She felt like herself again when she was with him and it felt so nice. She rested her chin on his chest, looking up at him. She felt his hand reach forward and his fingers ran through her curls. She smiled softly, closing her eyes and leaning into his touch. She looked up at him, her eyes rolling open once more. She gently grabbed his hand and looked down at his hand. She traced the marks on his hands for no other reason than she wanted to touch him. His hands were bigger than hers and much more calloused than hers. Then again, she had advanced healing. She traced the lined on his palm, smiling softly. She was calm, she was happy. She was herself. When Tony spoke, Hadley lifted her chin and looked up at Tony. At his words, she blushed brightly and laughed softly. She shook her head and looked away. "I'm not beautiful." Hadley muttered. She had only ever heard harsh words. She had never been told she was beautiful, even by Ricky. She was called ugly, fat, a monster, a whore. All sorts of names. But never beautiful. That word didn't even seem English to her, if she was being honest. Hadley looked back up at Tony with shimmering blue eyes and she smiled softly. "But thank you for thinking so." Hadley laughed softly.

Tony stared down at Hadley with an obvious frown, her words seeming to upset him drastically. Why was it that the prettiest girls were always the most insecure in some way, he thought. He could assume it had to do with her past or maybe she had always been insecure he didn’t know for sure and doubted she wanted to talk about it either. Rubbing his hand on her back still he shrugged his shoulders. ”Well I guess I’m just going to have to keep telling you how beautiful you are until you either believe me or get tired of me saying it.” It all depended on which ever came first but he wasn’t going to just sit her and let her believe that she wasn’t beautiful. Hadley was easily one of the most stunning women he had seen in his life and considering how many women he’s hooked up with or simply met that said a lot. Come on, how could she not see how pretty she was? It made Tony want to kiss her and show her just how much of a catch she was.

Hadley smiled softly, feeling his hand gently rub her back. She was glad to see he was affectionate as well and that her longing for touch wasn't just one sided. At his words, she snickered. She shook her head and looked at him with sparkling blue eyes. "You can definitely try, Tony." Hadley giggled softly and laid her head on his chest. She traced random shapes on his chest as she heard the soft music playing in the background. She listened to the music, feeling her heart thunder against her chest. She felt as if she could stay here with Tony forever. She wanted little moments like this. Where both of their masks were off and they were just themselves. She felt at peace with him. She felt like nothing could harm her as she laid in Tony's arms. She yawned quietly and snuggled further into Tony's chest. "I'm scared, Tony. I don't want to hurt you, whether that be with my powers or with how I push people away." Hadley broke the silence and looked up at Tony, her blue eyes shimmering. She was vulnerable. She was not used to that feeling. It was almost foreign to her. She didn't like how it felt but at the same time, she had a feeling Tony would never hurt her.

Tony lifted a finger at her words and shook it jokingly, acting like one of those old grandparents you would see wagging their fingers at the kids who wanted desert before dinner. ”No, no, no. I don’t try. I succeed.” And he wouldn’t stop until she felt like the prettiest and luckiest woman on a planet. Some might consider her to be since she managed to get him to actually think about the idea of settling down with someone and being affectionate. He listened to the soft music playing quietly, his breathing seeming to slow down and match with the beat. This wasn’t his usual type but he enjoyed it. It seemed to fit with their feelings right about now. He could honestly stay right here forever. Her laying against him, soft music playing, rain gently tapping against the window. It was almost like what he wanted his life to be like but could never seem to figure out how to get there properly. He had tried with Pepper and that had failed but maybe Hadley could be his forever girl. He was just glad she was finally showing him her true colors. At her words he let out a soft sigh, a gentle smirk lifting his pink lips. ”Well luckily for you I’m a resilient bastard so don’t expect me to go anywhere. I mean I had to force an arc into my chest, I can handle whatever you got to throw at me.” He stayed gently. He reached a hand up to tuck a piece of blonde hair behind her ear but he didn’t move when he was done. Instead he moved to caress the side of her face.

Hadley blinked at his words, a soft smile curling onto her lips. She was glad to hear him say that but at the same time, they were just words. He could leave her like everyone else had. She never knew. She never expected Ricky to turn out the way he did but he shattered her heart. She wasn't even sure she had all of the pieces any more. But it seemed like Tony was willing to pick up the pieces and take the time to let her love him. She looked up at him, a soft blush on her cheek as he spoke. She felt his hand brush some loose curls behind her ear and she felt her breath hitch in her throat. When he moved his hand, she expected him to just remove it from her face. But, he caressed her cheek. Her heart thundered against her chest and she sat up a little, her blue eyes shimmering in the dim light. Hadley leaned into his touch, closing her eyes. She had never truly had a loving touch, someone who meant no ill will behind touching her. It was something words couldn't describe. It made her heart swell. She opened her eyes once more, her blue eyes meeting Tony's. She reached forward, her thumb running across his cheekbone. She looked down at his lips for a moment, trying to gain the courage to kiss him. She felt her heart thundering against her chest and she pushed aside all of her negative thoughts. Right now, she was with Tony. She cared about him and he cared about her. That was all that mattered. She leaned forward, her hands moving to his shoulders. She looked into his eyes for a moment before she finally told herself to damn the consequences.

Hadley leaned into Tony, her lips gently pressing against his. She felt her entire body light up like fireworks at the kiss. She felt her head spin and everything seemed perfect in the world. For that exact moment. She felt as if she was floating, like no one could harm her because Tony was there. She leaned in gently, deepening the kiss. She wrapped her arms around his neck and tangled her fingers in his dark tendrils. She felt the blush rise to her cheeks and she couldn't stop kissing him. She never wanted the moment to end. She felt his hands on her waist and she felt her body ignite. She pulled herself from the kiss, knowing if she didn't stop herself that she would sleep with him right there on the couch. She panted softly, her cheeks red. She rolled her eyes open once more and her blue gaze met his. She giggled softly and pulled her arms from his shoulders as she looked away shyly.

Tony kept his gaze and his hand on Hadley. God she was so beautiful, if only she could see herself the way he saw her, than she’d realize just how gorgeous and great of a women she was. He felt her hand against his cheek and smiled proudly at her. Seems they were getting somewhere with her finally trusting him. He didn’t know what the future had in store for them, if she would even still want to see him tomorrow morning but all he did know was that he wanted her. All of her. Her body, her mind, her heart. Hell, he’ll even take the cat. He wanted them to work. Wanted them to give whatever this was between a chance, who knows maybe they might just be together for the rest of their lives. That might seem like a bit of a stretch and that he was thinking to far into the future but he didn’t care. He could actually see a happy life with her that he hoped she saw too. The kiss wasn’t an expected surprise, but he was no where complaining. He was shocked at first but ultimately melted into the kiss. It felt like fireworks were exploding all throughout his body. Their lips seemed to fit together perfectly, knowing exactly what move the other would do before they even did it. His hands fell down to her waist and he tugged her closer, a soft growl building into his chest. He didn’t want this moment to end but sadly it did. He felt her pull away and opened his brown eyes, his eyes meeting hers. He smirked at her flustered expression and chuckled leaning his head back. ”Let me take you out tomorrow night. I’ll pay and you can pick where we go.”

Hadley looked up at Tony as he spoke and she placed her hands in her lap, sitting criss cross as she faced him. She tucked a strand of her blonde locks behind her ear and listened to his words. She giggled, shaking her head. She looked at him, amusement in her blue eyes. "I would expect a billionaire like Tony Stark to pay on the first date. As long as it won't dip into your savings." Hadley teased him with a playful smile, a twinkle in her eye. She pulled her hair down from the bun, sighing. Her hair was dry now from her bath earlier. It hung in loose ringlets and framed her face almost perfectly. She thought for a moment, wondering where a good first date would be. It would have to be public. Somewhere where Tony could show his true colors. She smirked as she came up with her idea."That really expensive nightclub that opened up a few blocks from here. I've never really been to a club and I'd love to see you in your territory." Hadley joked once more, snickering. She stood, wobbling a bit as the scotch hit out of nowhere. She grabbed the bottle, taking another drink. She hummed, hearing an upbeat song play on her phone. She danced her way to the kitchen, setting the bottle on the counter. She bumped into the counter and laughed, almost falling over. She, luckily, was always a happy drunk. She was always goofy and giggly and loves to make people laugh. She reached into pantry, pulling out some Snow Balls. She groaned happily and ripped open the package, eating one. She closed her eyes, relishing in the chocolate, marshmallow, and coconut combination. Hadley walked back over to the couch and sat down in Tony's lap, offering him one of her favorite sweets.

"Hey Tony?" She asked and once she got his attention, she continued, running her hand though his dark hair. "I get that at first I was just a notch on your belt. Did you change your mind or am I still just another girl to you?" Hadley asked, her blue eyes shimmering as she looked down at him. She crossed one leg over the other as she sat in his lap, trying to fight her urges. She wanted to kiss Tony and climb in his lap and straddle him and have him make her scream his name. She blinked, almost sighing at her daydream. She looked back over at Tony, waiting for his answer.

Tony rolled his eyes at her joking statement. Seems they both liked to make jokes, what a perfect pair. Smiling a her he shook his head. ”No not a billionaire thing. Just a chivalry thing. I asked you out, therefore I should pay. Plus I could probably spend a million dollars in a day and it wouldn’t dent my bank account so don’t you worry your pretty little head.” And of course since he was trying to get her to see how stunningly gorgeous she was he just had to throw in a small compliment in there as well. Tapping his fingers on his pant leg he waited patiently for her to pick out a spot. What was a good place most girls liked to go? Movies, bowling, carnival, picnic, swimming? However seems none of those were the right answer and he was taking slightly aback when she said the new nightclub that had recently opened up. He hadn’t pegged her as the clubbing type but at the same time he shouldn’t be surprised that she kept throwing curveballs at him all night. First she actually let him in, than she was nice to him again, then she kissed him, and now he was finding out she actually liked to go clubbing. ”Well blondie your wish is my command.” He joked out playfully, watching her stand and wobble to the kitchen. As he waited for her to come back he silently started imagining them at the club, mostly picturing what she might be wearing and the thought caused him to lean his head back and slouch into the couch. He wasn’t sure he would be prepared for all that sexiness. He looked back up when he heard her come back, wrapping his arms around her when she sat back down into his lap. His eyes lit up slightly at the treat she had offered him, graciously accepting one and taking a large bite out of it. He wasn’t sure if he had ever tried one before but god damn were they delicious.

He hummed softly and looked at her, licking some chocolate off his mouth as he listened to what she had to say. Sighing he rubbed her back gently. He understood why she was asking him this but Tony has never been the best with talking about his feelings, typically shoving them down and hiding them sometimes even from the people who loved him. ”You were never just a notch on my belt, Hadley.” He admitted, running his fingers through his short cropped hair. If he was being honest he hadn’t slept with anyone in months. After him and Peggy broke up he had went back to bringing girls to parties with him but he didn’t sleep with them. He had just needed the world to know that he was over Pepper and that he was still the infamous playboy he had been before. ”The second I saw you, you intrigued me and I wanted to get to know you more. I haven’t even slept with anyone since Pepper and I broke up.” Of course that’s not what the tabloids saw but it was the cold hard truth.

Hadley blinked as she looked down at Tony, listening to his words. She understood that it was hard for him to open up about his feelings but she was happy to see he was opening up and being himself. Vulnerability was much more attractive to her than pride. Hadley ran her hands through his cropped hair, smiling softly as he finished his words. She was glad to hear him say that. She believed him, his words were very genuine. She leaned down and kissed his cheek, a soft and innocent kiss. She looked at him a special sparkle in her blue eyes and her lips curled into a brighter smile. "Thank you, Tony. Your honesty means a lot to me." Hadley said warmly, her thumb caressing his cheek gently. She hummed and rested her head on his shoulder, curling up in his lap. She hiccuped which turned into a sweet giggle. She twirled Tony's cropped hair between her fingers as she yawned. She felt her heart swell as she realized what his words meant. She was more than just a lay to him. She smiled widely at the thought and she snuggled into his body. She hummed with content and pulled her arms to rest against his chest. Her soft breaths were on his neck as her eyelids grew heavier. "Tony, don't leave. I want you to stay the night." Hadley murmured sleepily as she looked up at him. Her blue eyes were tired but she had that breathtaking smile, even if it was small from the exhaustion her body felt. She squeaked as he moved to stand, carrying her bridal style. She giggled, wrapping her arms around his neck. She felt her vision blur, the alcohol and exhaustion beginning to take over her body. Hadley felt her body laid down and she opened her eyes, seeing Tony had set her in her bed. He had moved to walk out of the room and she grumbled, reaching out and grabbing his hand. She weakly tugged him back, her tired smile still on her pink lips. "Stay." She said in a soft voice. She smiled wider as he moved to take his place in the bed next to her. She pulled the blankets over their bodies and snuggled into his chest, facing him. She curled her arms up against her chest and sighed happily. She felt his arms wrap around her and she felt like nothing in the world could ever harm her. Her exhaustion took over her body and within a few moments, she was deeply asleep.

About three hours passed. Hadley was sleeping on her side, facing Tony. There was a bit of distance between them but only a few inches. Their legs were tangled together and her hands were curled up to cradle her face against the pillow. Her breaths were soft and the only sound breaking the silence. The moonlight peaked through the window and shined down on her curvy body. Her curls were a bit of a mess but she looked like a Goddess nonetheless. Her pink lips were parted in a perfect pout in which her sot breaths and sighs only had room to escape. She looked peaceful. She hummed with content as she slept, snuggling further into her pillow. That's when her dream turned to a nightmare. She was with Tony, standing on the edge of Stark tower and admiring the city down below. His arm was around her waist and her lips were curled into a smile. It was a beautiful sunny day and she felt so at ease. But, as she looked to Tony, she jumped back. It was Ricky, not Tony who stood by her side. As she looked back toward the city, the tower had melted away and they were back in their old apartment. Hadley began to panic, looking at Ricky with tears in her eyes. He approached her, a menacing smile and a evil glint in his almost black eyes. Hadley felt his hands wrap around her throat and she let out a scream. All the while this was happening in her mind, her body was reacting. When her dream turned to a nightmare, she began to twitch and whimper. When Ricky appeared, she began muttering 'no' in her sleep and tossing and turning. When Ricky's all too familiar rough hands wrapped around her throat and squeezed, she let out a scream and jolted to sit up right, waking herself from her dream. She panted heavily, looking around frantically as her hands flew to her throat. Ricky's hand wasn't there. She was in her apartment. Ricky couldn't hurt her anymore. She jumped as she felt arms wrap around her but when she turned, she saw Tony. His worried expression broke her. She broke into a sob and launched herself into his arms. She wrapped her arms around him and sobbed into his chest, which was now bare. She gripped to his shoulder, as if it was the only thing tethering her to her reality. "It was Ricky. He somehow came back and you weren't there and he came at me and grabbed my throat. It all seemed to real. I was so scared." Hadley said hysterically between sobs.
