A small kitten lay abandoned in one of the city's large alleys, discarded as her twoleg no longer wanted a cat that reminded them of a tiger. Her stomach was growling furiously, wanting to force her to go out a hunt something down. Despite her smaller stature Velocity managed to leap ontop of a large dumpster, using her paws to dig through the garbage. The bad thing was she didn't appear to have enough strength to fully move some items, only making the toyger soon give up.

So she was doomed to starve out here, forgotten about like some awful gift. Tears would've fallen down from any accustomed kittypet, yet the newly made loner wasn't going to have it. Her attitude was one of the few things that made Vel seem dangerous, she wasn't shy on challenging those even bigger then her. One of the few reasons she was here alone and not with her brother who still was enjoying life as some house pet. A crash soon startled the young female, causing her to fall back into the dumpster.

As she struggled to free herself...a few more items somehow ended up above her. It took almost all the kittens energy to fight against being crushed, thankfully she wasn't going to be crushed....but instead have little more energy to pull herself from the smelly prison. Knowing this she would begin crying out for help, hoping that someone else would find her before a monster did.

(I'm so bad at making intros...also I wasn't sure if bloodclan was still in the city. But I still decided to post like they were)

  • Ethel had been prowling the city, trying to find someone to socialize with. Strangely, Chucky and Fern weren't causing a ruckus. Those two really were a problem sometimes, but... she still loved them. Ethel was just tugged along with them, doing her best to try and stop them from doing stupid things. And those two fought a lot. Turns out that having two siblings who are arrogant and extremely prideful will cause them to fight with each other. Ethel was fine with being the mediator, though. After all, both Fern and Chucky were partial to her; and by no means was the kitten a manipulator, but she tried her best to use that fondness.

Her thoughts about her siblings were interrupted by some noise. Somebody... needed help?! "Don't worry I got you! ...Where are you?" Ethel called out, trying to be loud enough for the victim to hear. As she kept heading towards the source of the sound, she started to hear... something falling? "What the heck?" she asked herself aloud, turning the corner into an alley with... a stinky dumpster. That could apparently talk. Dumpsters didn't normally talk, right? But this one was yelling for help. Ethel, in her young mind, couldn't connect two and two that anyone would be inside of the dumpster. No one wanted to be inside of one.

"Umm... why is the dumpster crying?" she asked, hoping that someone older, like Ruth or Slow or her mother or - somebody was around to clear this up.

The dilute torbie had been hunting when she heard the sound of a kitten drifting over from one alley over. The Bloodclan Guard hid the scrap of leftover hamburger she had manged to dig out from a turned over rubbish bin underneath some newspaper and quickly followed the sound.

She came upon Ethel, standing beside a dumpster and regarding it with mingled suspicion and alarm. Severa had been there the day Ethel and her siblings had been born. She almost regarded them as family, considering Mama Luna had taken her in when she joined Bloodclan originally--only a few moons ago, now that she thought about it. It was incredible how quickly time was passing, and she purred a greeting to the kit before glancing up at the dumpster.

"It's not the dumpster, it's someone in the dumpster," she explained gently, then she leapt to the ledge to peer down inside and spotted the young kit struggling to swim amid the trash. Bending down, one paw on the ledges she reached for the kit with one of her paws. "Come on," she grunted, claws extended. "Grab on."

The sound of voices outside this smelly trash prison caught her attention, once more trying to scratch her claws against the wall in hopes they would latch onto something. Soon stopping as a shadow cast over her form, glancing up to see another reaching down while saying something she couldn't fully understand. Of course Velocity used some of her last energy to grab ahold of this stranger, hoping they would bring her away from her.

Vel would certainly remember her savior from the dark and smelly dumpster, even if they didn't get to know each other that well. Her attempt to give thanks was stopped due to being as exhausted as she was.

The little paw outstretched, and Severa was able to grab onto the kit and pull her into a position Severa could dip her head and grab onto the scruff of her neck with her teeth. Secure, she lifted and jumped back down, setting the young feline onto the ground.

"There we go," she said, once she had let go. "And what might your name be?"

    "My name's Velocity.....I think i-it is"

Her mother never got the chance to name they toyger, and instead some random twoleg did. It was a nice name from what she knew, just unsure if it was a good one. "Thank you for saving me miss, I didn't think I would've made it"Her thanks ended with a smile, something that hadn't been done in a while.

This other cat could've just left her in the dumps, allow her to collapse due to lack of energy or something. Bringing her mind back to the situation at hand "What's your name?" Vel asked the larger and older looking cat, hoping to not be left alone again. She was never raised to be in the city streets, so being taught to would actually save her life.

Slowhand's long sand colored legs would carry him forward. He had heard the crying and had followed Severa to the dumpster along with Ethel. But thanks to his missing leg he had fallen back a bit slow. So upon reaching the site the tougher had already been pulled from the dumpster. Stepping forward the tom would smile down atthe kitten who introduced herself as Velocity. An odd name, but he wasn't one to speak. So with a smile he'd introduce himself then. "I'm glad you're okay there little one. I'm Slowhand." He would pause. He knew he should invite her to join them. She was after all just a kit and Caledon did have a rule against harming kits. And Slowhand would qualify as leaving a kit on their own to die as harming them so with a smile he'd offer, "Do you have somewhere to live?"

  • Ruth padded over behind Slowhand, arriving just in time to see Severa pull a young kit from the dumpster and deposit her safely to the ground. She rushed over, pausing beside her brother as she looked the kitten up and down for injury. She appeared to be alright, just frightened and tired, but she was no healer, so she decided to make sure. "Are you alright, Velocity, was it?" she asked softly, bobbed tail twitching back and forth. "My name's Ruth. These are my Clanmates. We're a group called BloodClan that lives nearby."

Several nodded in agreement to her fellow clanmates. "I'm Severa," she introduced and she took a seat on the pavement. She regarded the kitten for a moment, noting her age, the fact she had just rescued this velocity, and felt a surge of protectiveness she hadn't expected.

"You're not going to last long out here on your own," she mused, black tipped tail flicking. She glanced a Ruth. "I can take her in, if she agrees of course."

Her attention swiftly focused on an approaching cat, one whom only had three legs. But she soon relaxed as he introduced himself with a smile, Vel would've reacted differently if he never spoke up. "No....I was left here while the rest of my family traveled away" Her tone did have a hint of sadness, but she hoped nobody would notice. "I think I'm ok....I don't feel any pain"There was a small possibility that when she tried to escape from the dumpster that something happened, not that she could feel it now.

Bloodclan? That was a weird name Her thoughts interrupted the young kitten to respond, these terms were all new and unfamiliar to her. They were one of the few cats that had stopped to help her, also the one's that asked on her living situation. Being left behind out here wasn't an option, especially since she had trouble trying to live. A smart cat wouldn't of tried to dig through a full dumpster, nor let themselves be caught underneath one.

  • Luna had come hurriedly before she saw Ethel and relief painted her face. Then, she saw the little kit next to Severa and, seeing as her small adopted daughter had the situation, she watched. From what she had gathered from looking and smelling, the kit fell and someone saved them. Probably Severa seeing as she was closer and a surge of pride ran through her limbs.

Using her tail to coax Ethel toward her, the queen watched curiously, eyes kind as they always were when she looked at kits. She looked sad, but, otherwise fine so far and she trusted Severa to care for the little one. So, quietly she stood next to Ruth, opposite of Slowhand, and watched as a spectator.
