Stars, hide your fires; Let not light see my black and deep desires.

Before the dogs had attacked, before the blood, pain, and death on her doorstep--

Severa had strode through the red corridors of the Bloodhouse with a single scent on her mind, repeating the words of the shadowed feline who had appeared in her dreams. The Dark Forest had come to her. She had made contact! She knew Sheogorath would be so proud! She would have to tell him, but perhaps another day for she had a mission to accomplish.

Nova had mention Rev--Revolution, she suspected. She hadn't spoken much to the tom, though had seen him frequently. He was an adopted brother of sorted, connected by Mama Luna and her cannibalistic feasts. But Nova had said that he too was searching for the Dark Forest and they would be doing something together.

She was excited. That would be certainly fun. She missed the company and interaction that siblings could provide. So, she pushed through another door, and ended up on the roof.

"Rev," she called out, looking around. "You up here?"

    -stagstride!

  • "What do you want?" He sneered. Can't some cat get a bit of alone time around here? Not that he really interacted with many people. He kept more to himself ever since the Dark Forest visited. Well, he would probably lower his temper after Severa gave him the news. What could be so exciting that she had to tell him though? He's never talked to her, but he'd seen her around with their mother.

Well, as she had suspected, he wasn't the friendliest. She came to a seat some tail lengths away from him. "Our mutual friend sent me," she said, her tail flicking to the side. "The one who goes by the name of Nova," and she paused here, watching his expression to see if recognition sparked there. "He said he would like to train us together."

  • Oh Nova sent her? Darn, she was also one of the chosen. But his determination to prove himself the best to his mentor overshadowed that little fact. The Dark Forest needed as many twisted cats as they could to break the Clans. "That would be nice." He nodded, agreeing quite quickly. "Tonight is a good night to start. Unless you want to practice now." The thought of doing anything related to the Dark Forest made him giddy. He was like a little fanboy.

He wanted to practice now? She hadn’t even—she had kept her expectations so low. Her tail betrayed her thoughts at once, shooting up and twitching with excitement. Of course she wanted to practice—she was hungry for more. She had only just started, spoken to Nova once, and felt desperately behind the rest of the class.

“Yeah, she said, blinking her amber eyes. “I mean, I can practice now—unless now isn’t a good time for you,” she added, wanting to provide him a way out in case she had misunderstood, but he seemed excited by the prospect himself.

  • "You're funny. Of course now is a good time!" Without another minute of hesitation, he leaped towards Severa, his claws sliding out, but not outstretched. He was aiming for her nose and her muzzle. He didn't want to do too much damage. After all, tonight would be no fun if one or both of them were too beat up for a proper training. But real battles were merciless, and were often to the death.

She was not prepared for that! Severa stumbled back at the tom leapt for her, and one of his claws sliced the bridge of her nose. As she felt it stain her fur there, she made an immediate decision—if this was practice she could guess what the training would really involve. Her first meeting with Nova had, effectively, been a meet and greet.

So fighting would be a main component, then? Fine with her. Dropping low, the she-cat shot forward, attempting to come up under Revolution’s throat, her paws claws unsheathing.
