Diamondkit was a lonely lonely child. Abandoned on the border, her mother StarClan knows where- well, she was in DarkClan actually, but Diamondkit didn’t have any clue- the kitten felt wothless and meaningless. She felt a little cheered up after saving Foxkit, but that slowly faded away, and the kit found herself in depression again. Why did her mother not want her? The kit lied outside of the nursery, watching the snow glitter in the sunlight. It was beautiful, but freezing. If she laid here, with her snow white pelt with ubnormal quality after her mother who was an exposition cat, would anyone even see her? If she buried herself in snow, would someone even realize she was missing? The kit’s head was filled with things that should have stayed out if her tiny head for much longer. But the kitten with a diamond on a string around her neck was feeling hiw she was feeling, and she promised herself she would be something in the future. Not someone, not be someone big, ambicious was an antonym of Diamondkit for now, but something- to help others. Still, this promise didn’t help her from being hopeless. She sighed, her tail touching the snow.

  • Mouse was pregnant...she was pregnant with that filthy liar's kits. She knew it, but nobody else knew it yet. She didn't know how she was going to react to the kittens. Part of her, however dreadful it was, wanting to take an herb to get rid of them. But the thought of doing that made her positively sick. Perhaps this sick was just coming from being pregnant, but she believed it was a revulsion to the idea of removing innocent life. She'd seen far too much death in her lifetime to want to be the bringer of it. Frowning, she sat outside the warrior's den, contemplating her future. However, a small movement caught her attention. Was that Diamondkit? The kitten expertly blended into the snow, which caused Mouse to crack a small smile. Usually white pelts were a hindrance...but she supposed not during winter. Unfortunately, Mouse didn't even realize that Diamondkit was contemplating whether anybody would go searching for her if she disappeared into the snow. Of course they would! But how could she reassure the young kitten when she was not a mind reader?

Walking up to the kitten, the soon-to-be queen smiled down at her. Something seemed...wrong. Mouse was intuitive with emotions and very empathetic. She realized that Diamondkit was struggling wit something, though she knew not what. Mouse did not know her backstory and simply assumed she was a regular WindClan kitten. "Hey Diamondkit. You blend right in! I almost didn't see you. Aren't you cold?"

Diamondkit looked up at the bigger feline. She always loved grey fur, and Mouse’s was beautiful. The female has been always pretty sympathetic to her too. Diamondkit sighed. “Even if I was, who would care if I froze,” she replied sadly, her head laying on her paws.

  • There was no denying the shock that came across Mouse's face. A kitten...was feeling so dejected that she felt as if nobody would care if she died? This poor thing. Mouse moved closer to her, attempting to brush her pelt against Diamondkit, knowing she must be cold. "I'd care. I'm sure many others would too. Don't you have any family? Friends? I'm sure they'd all care! And if they don't, well...you can always rely on me," the soon-to-be queen purred. In all honesty, the gray feline was feeling a bit awkward. She didn't know how to cheer somebody up. Usually it was Eagle cheering her up. But...she had to help this kitten feel involved.

Family. Really funny. Ha ha. Diamondkit didn’t have family. At least she didn’t know any. “I don’t have family. I have been abandoned on the border,” she replied, her fur bristling from the cold wind that blew for a few seconds. She like the grey female, and she really was prepared to tell her anything, still it was hard for her. “You’d... care? But why? I never helped you or anything.” Diamondkit didn’t understand anything. She looked down at her diamond and tapped it. The only thing she ever loved, the only thing reminded her of her mother and littermates she would perhaps never see again.

  • Mouse frowned as the kit admitted to being abandoned on the border. Well, she'd made a fool of herself suggest ing that family would care for the depressed kitten, hadn't she? "I'm sorry that happened. But family can be found too...whether it be you seeking biological parents...or finding somebody you love in place of the ones who left you," she said softly. She, herself, had been abandoned by her family. If you could call it being abandoned. She'd been sold to a gang as a young kitten. But regardless, she'd found friends and considered them family, like Eaglespirit. "Diamondkit, I care because you're a Clan mate and I have absolutely no reason to not like you. You're kind and considerate."

"R-really?" Diamondkit surpredly jumped up. Then she brushed her pelt against Mouse. "Then you're the first one," she giggled. She needed someone like Mouse and her words were more important to her than she would think. "But when I will be an apprentice, I will prove my worth!"

  • Mouse smiled down at the kitten, who eagerly jumped up and brushed against her. She seemed to be doing better, after a little encouragement from Mouse. That was good. "You're gonna do great, kid!" the warrior purred. If only she had that kind of enthusiasm. The gray she-cat tried...she really did. But it felt like everybody was against her besides a few people. And...it was a lonely battle, trying to be accepted.
