  • ☪ Brackenpaw

    8 | Medicine Cat Apprentice | Bisexual | Mentor: Mintwhisker | Crush/Mate: Open | Interacting: Open

    ( "talking" )

Brackenpaw had done his best to assist his clanmates, treating their injuries to the best of his ability. Afterwards, despite how shaken up he'd been, he managed to fall into a deep sleep, the stress and fear the attack left behind having exhausted the young tom. He was soon roused by Whitestar's call, groggily flicking an ear as he slowly got to his paws. He wearily padded toward the entrance and carefully took a seat beside Mintwhisker, his ears pinned back against his head. The loss of several of their clanmates deeply saddened the young tom. He wrapped his tail tightly around his paws, waiting for Whitestar's announcement.

    ☪ Frostspirit

    32 | Warrior | Pansexual | Apprentice: Longpaw | Crush: Open | Interacting: Open

    ( "talking" )

The warrior slowly made her way out of the warrior's den with a huff. Luckily, it seemed she'd managed to avoid getting seriously harmed. What wounds she did have were treated by a shaken Brackenpaw, including the nick in her ear. She glanced up at her sister as she called for a meeting and moved to sit somewhere in the middle of the crowd. Unlike her normal cheerful personality, her face was shadowed with solemnity and grief. With a small sigh, she awaited their leader's announcements.

  • Thornwhisker's yellow gaze turned to Mintwhisker, seeing the medicine cat's glare, an odd smile crossed the tom's face in response. He said nothing though, but the sign that he possibly was going to respect Mintwhisker's wishes was the inclination of his head in response to the medicine cat. After all, he had respect for the older tom after everything he had done for the clan, there was no need to stress anyone out. Besides, he had no intentions of getting Larchpaw up or moving around, he needed rest and he knew that. If anything, Thornwhisker was considering hunting later on, StarClan knows with all the injured cats they would need a steady supply of food streaming in, and with him at least good enough to hunt, he would do so later.

Moonface didn't react much to Honeystorm moving up beside her until the queen had actually sat next to her. Blue eyes shifting upward to the queen, she gave only a weak smile in response to her, however it was clear that Moonface wasn't in the best shape emotionally right now, beating up on herself for being so "useless" in her own mind. She hadn't helped many of her clanmates when she could have. Perhaps... perhaps she really wasn't cut out for clan life like she had thought? Her stupid kittypet blood that ran through her veins probably was holding her back? Maybe... she really was more of a burden now more than ever. Despite the negative thoughts going through her head, she would not voice them and instead now looked down at her paws, downcast.

    Interacting w//: Listening to Whitestar

He limped over, a day later and his wound was causing him a great deal of discomfort. He was thankful he’d finally given in to letting Mintwhisker look it it, if he’d waited any longer he could’ve risked a bad infection. He winced as he lowered himself at the very front of the group, his head lifted as he listened to his leader. His chest was puffed up pridefully.

The large tom was oddly quiet- more so than usual. His large body moved from his seat near the warrior’s den, moving over to where their leader had called them. He sat tall, tail curling around his legs as his blue eyes peered up. His eyes were darkened with sadness and loss, even if none of the deaths had affected him on an extremely personal level. He did not lose his family or apprentice; but his clan was his everything. He felt the pin his clanmatea did, even if it was lessened. He kept his eyes scanning, looking for his apprentice.

The female’s head lifted from her paws as their leader called out, peering out from the medicine den. Her leg was back in place, but it was still painful to use. Her wounds were no longer bleeding, but surely they would if she moved too much. Slowly raising to three of her paws, the injured female limped her way to the opening. She sat down heavily with a sigh, green orbs peering at WhiteStar. She felt a pang in her chest; she felt like she could of done more. She was right there when the leader was being thrown around like a rag doll! She should of done more... and now she blamed herself for the loss of the leader’s life. Sighing heavily, the small she cat gave her attention back to their leader.

DewPaw || Apprentice || Crush: Open || Interacting with: Open

Upon hearing the call, the small apprentice pulled herself up and took a seat by the entrance of the medicine den. The events from yesterday left her with a concussion, so she was asked to stay in the medicine den just to make sure she didn’t die in her sleep. Terrifying, huh? Her eyes scanned for her mentor, gaze finding the Kittypet who helped them greatly yesterday. Perhaps he was being accepted into the clan as an apprentic? That would be exciting! Or, perhaps more was occuring?

Casper || Kittypet || Crush: Open || Interecting with: Open

Now, this was so strange to him. After he helped get the stumbling apprentice back to the camp, he was looked over by the medicine cat and his slight wounds were healed. He hasn’t gotten the chance to speak with DarkBlossom, but he knew he needed to. He needed to know why she left without so much as a goodbye. He did love her at one point- those feelings died when she left. His body was seated by the entrance, not wanting to intrude on what was about to happen. This seemed like this would address yesterday’s events, and he saw some of the carnage that occured. It had to be hard losing those you care for; it was hard losing his siblings and they were sold! Not dead! It was... sad to see such a powerful group of cats mourn and deal with such a heavy loss.

  • Amberpaw; interacting with Starlingfeather ||-WickedLillies-||

The she-cat slipped out of the apprentice's den a bit after Batpaw. The medicine den had been quite back and without a major injury that caused supervision, she had been allowed to sleep in her regular nest. However, the wound on her neck was fairly large and still needed time to heal or else she would have bigger problems in the future. She gave her pelt a shake, wincing slightly at the soreness of her body and wound. Her emerald gaze found her mentor quickly given his size and waltzed her way over to him, giving him an affectionate look before sitting down to listen.

    Duskstone

Duskstone had slept in the warriors den due to the sheer number of injured cats in the medicine den. His leg was stiff and sore, causing him to awkwardly join his clanmates. He took a seat towards the edge of the crowd so that he could be closer to the nursery and Fernstep. Although his leg just looked stiff on the outside it definitely didn't feel right to put weight on or stretch and Duskstone worried about his recovery-if he had it at all. He looked down at his paws, dread settling in his stomach uncomfortably. What if he couldn't be a warrior anymore?

    Whitestar

    75 Moons | She-Cat | 2 Lives Remaining

The she-cat breathed in as she watched her clan gather around her, her hazel eyes brightening a bit from their previous dullness. Her eyes rested on her children, and then on those that had to remain in the medicine den. She sought out the particular cats that would be needed in a moment before clearing her throat, demanding silence before she spoke. Whitestar blinked at the cats before her and began to speak, her voice regaining some of its strength as she addressed the clan. "Last night, we mourned the loss of four of our clanmates. We pray that their travels to StarClan were safe , and that they now look down on us with love and loyalty. However, among those fallen were two teachers, two mentors." The clan leader scanned the clan for the two toms she was looking for before speaking once more, "Sunpaw, Russetpaw, please step forward."

    Larchpaw

    10 Moons | Tom | Apprentice

The tom flattened his ears a bit, ducking his head as he was chastised by the medicine cat. "Yes, Mintwhisker," He quickly mewed, not wanting to rub the older tom's fur the wrong way. The lanky tom glanced up as his mentor approached him and couldn't help but smile a bit. He knew Thornwhisker wasn't one to show affection, or any emotion, really, but his presence did confirm that he did care for Larchpaw. The apprentice rested his head back on the edge of his nest with his sore leg sticking out, clearly exhausted. It would be some time before he would be able to get back out and training, but the more he rested, the quicker that day would come.

Rosetail - 60 Moons - Female - Warrior - Interacting with: Mintwhisker Rontu , Open

Rosetail's injury was indeed a puncture wound and it was taking its sweet time healing. She was able to stand on her leg but it was not quite able to support her when walking yet. Luckily in the rush of treating other cat's injuries with Smokestorm the day before the tom had made sure that she got some goldenrod for herself before she allowed the wound to go untreated for too long. The clan's supplies of herbs had been drastically depleted in their efforts yesterday and Rosetail had spent most of her day hobbling through the forest and gathering the herbs that Mintwhisker had asked her to find to continue to heal the wounded cats. The she-cat had been power napping in the warrior's den when she heard Whitestar's call through the haze of sleep. Her injured hind leg, and subsequent limp, caused her to move a bit slower and she had just sat down on the other side of Mintwhisker from where Brackenpaw had placed himself when Whitestar addressed Sunpaw and Russetpaw.

Greystreak - 28 Moons - Male - Warrior - Interacting with: Thistlepaw, Open

Greystreak had been laying to the side of the camp dozing in the fading rays of the sun with his sister. The two where thoroughly exhausted after the day's activities, but Thistlepaw's emotions where still running rampant and she didn't want to be alone. The grey-black tom indulged her wishes because of her extreme emotional attachment to the cats lost in the attack. Because she had grown up within the clan, whereas Greystreak did not she felt theses losses a bit more that he did. When Whitestar called for the cats to gather he rose to his paws, gently letting Thistlepaw's sleeping head slide off of his flank and onto the ground. The movement woke her from her slumber and he nudged her should slightly to get her attention when he saw her lift her head to look around. "Whitestar has summoned the clan," he explained to her in a soft whisper before making his way over to sit with the other cats. He settled himself just within the outskirts of the gathered cats and watched for Sunpaw and Russetpaw when Whitestar spoke their names.

Thistlepaw - 8 Moons - Female - Apprentice - Interacting with: Greystreak, Open

Thistlepaw had spent the majority of her day outside of the camp. She had been patrolling the borders with her mentor Paleflame and when she wasn't busy doing that she was off hunting with her brother trying to ensure that the clan had enough food to get it through the coming days with less paws to help out to feed all of the mouths it had. The apprentice was sleeping next to her brother with her head resting on his flank, rising and falling with his steady breathing. His familiar scent calmed her rampaging emotions, a still present after effect of the attack, and allowed her to get some sleep. Thistlepaw knew his scent better than any other cat's in the camp and could likely track it to any point in the territory if she needed to. Movement from beneath her head and the feeling of loosing her fluffy headrest pulled her from her deep sleep and she lifted her head to look around the camp with bleary eyes. She nodded her head at her brother's words, her maw open wide in a yawn before she shook her head to clear it from some of the foggy feeling left behind. She got to her paws and followed after her brother, sitting down next to him within the group while still blinking her eyes in an attempt to get them to focus better and wake herself up more.

deafpaw was in the crowded, stuffy medicine den with a whole host of cats. she didn't hear the meeting get called, obviously, but she figured something was going on as many cats hobbled out. the little she-cat found her way out as well, slowly but surely, going to sit next to her brother.

she was going to head back out, maybe do a second border patrol, when whitestar called a meeting. the warrior began to head to where she usually sat near the front, but the odd-eyed kittypet caught her attention. so he'd stayed after all. she wasn't sure what she was expecting - maybe for him to get scared of warrior ways and head home. maybe he was lost now.

flickerflame took a seat next to casper, tail curled neatly over her paws. it was only fair that she look after him, seeing that she had brought him here.

    Silverpaw

male - 11 moons - apprentice - crush: deafpaw - mentor: goldenscare - mentions Goldenscare Crazyclaw | open

The large white tom stood rigid within the tall grass near the eastern border of PrairieClan territory, his sharp, unmoving gaze fixed on a massive rabbit scuffling along the treeline near the river. Even though his muscles were sore and his wounds ached, he understood that he was far better off than many of his clanmates. And the clan needed prey. Earlier that day, the tom had slipped out of camp and has been hunting ever since. Silverpaw had regretted not bringing his mentor along. Perhaps hunting would've done the one-eyed tom good, as he seemed pretty uptight the day before. Silverpaw twitched his ear dismissively. What's done is done. And besides, after this last catch ill have to return to camp anyway.

With a silent breath, the milky-furred tom slinked forward in the direction of his prey, his figure moving silently through the grass. Pausing to bunch is muscles, he lunges forward, his front caws impaling its ticked flank. He killed it instantly on impact and picked it up in his jaws. Shaking his pelt, a fluffy tom retraced his steps back to where he buried his other catches before returning to camp.

The distance between the east border and camp was quite short, so he could easily hear Whitestar's caterwaul from where he was walking. Silverpaw picked up his pace, and as he entered the hollow, cats were already beginning to gather beneath the Slanted Tree. He hurriedly dropped his prey on the fresh kill pile before sitting with his clanmates.

    Runningpool

    female - 39 moons - warrior - crush: none - open

Runningpools rheumy blue eyes shot open and her short ears twitched at the sound of Whitestars call. Her sleep was long and deep, but her dreams were poisoned with memories of the day before. And when she woke up, she still felt the unbearable ache of exhaustion the gripped her body like claws. The silver femme cat up in her nest, blinking the drowsiness from her droopy eyes. She hadnt washed her pelt from yesterday and had fallen asleep the moment she settled down; dried blood made her fur stick out and harden into clumps. With a disgruntled mew, she began to groom the worse spots along her flank. Another call sounded out in the clearing so Runningpool paused her grooming and exited the warriors den. She took a seat near the front of the group before looking up at Whitestar.

  • Thornwhisker's gaze turned briefly to Larchpaw as the young tom had smiled at him. Though of course, this was given little reaction in response to him aside from a twitch of his tail. Indeed, he did care about the wellbeing of his apprentice, he had been placed under his care for StarClan knows what reason. It was his responsiblity to look after him... that was all. Though, perhaps Thornwhisker had gotten attached to his apprentice? Who really knows anyways, he rarely did show an inkling of emotion to anyone and no one so far had managed to crack that icy shell that he seemed to keep. However, his gaze did turn up to look to Sunpaw and Russetpaw as they were called up. New mentors. Of course, that was to be expected that the two would be assigned new mentors. But once again... many, many casualties were quite unexpected occurances to deal with. He could see the pain already upon Sunpaw, and he doubted that it would fade quickly either.

Moonface looked up toward the apprentices stepping forward, although the she-cat felt an even more stabbing twinge of guilt upon seeing the pain that Sunpaw seemed to be going through. It only made her feel worse about her incompetence throughout the whole situation.

  • Duskstone, interacting with Fernstep sylvie!

He snapped out of his thoughts as Fernstep approached him and immediately he relaxed a bit. Duskstone leaned in closer to her, purring as well, happy to be with her in this moment. "Did you sleep okay?" He murmured. "Songkit and Juniperkit aren't too shaken up right?" The events of yesterday had left him restless during the night as well as uncomfortable from his wounds. He worried Fernstep might've been too shaken up to sleep properly...perhaps he would sleep with her tonight in the nursery. That just might let them both get a good rest.

She padded out of the Warriors den after her little way too long naps, as she didn't really get any sleep in night, but when the first patrols got out, the silentness surrended the camp and she actually fallen into deep sleep. scretching her legs carefully not to open her wounds in her back, she shaked her pelt and looked around to the medicine cats den to see if her apprentice was up there or not. Narrowing her eyes in suprise when she noticed that Casper was Still there, wondering if the kittypet will join the clan. She was not that happy about it, but could not do anything if he desiced to stay, but at last he was good at fighting, even as a kittypet. Sighing she got to her Place and looked up to the white leader, thinking who will mentor the two poor apprentices now.

He was being injured by the fight against the coyotes, but because the medicine cats den was full of patients he needed to go back to his nest into the Warriors den. His left back leg was being wounded, but the bone was not broken, so maybe after a long time of healing he will go back to be a warrior, but for now he could do almost anything as Mintwhisker was told him to not use his wounded leg for a little while. Limping to get little bit closer to the Warriors den entrance to see and hear the meeting better, feeling happy that he didn't have a apprentice now as the poor younger cats trainings could not move anywhere before his leg could get better.

She was being out to either the dawn and dusk patrol, for some reason she was being very depressed after some of her clanmates dead and mostly about Mottledears. She feeled like she was being useless to her clan as she was compleatelly fine, when the cats who survived was very in bad shape, or got almost half killed yesterday. She sat down keeping her distance to anyone else, staying inside her own bubbles of angstness.

He peeked out of the nursery to listen what was going on into the clearning.

  • Smokestorm hadn't shed a single tear, despite losing someone that meant a lot to him. He had simply forgotten how to cry in his days of being a hardened warrior. The feelings of grief and fear he shared with his clanmates were all buried deep in his chest. It was painful, but he refused to show it. To him that would be a sign of weakness. The large tom seated himself among his clanmates, waiting to hear more from the leader.

Goldenscare silently took a seat next to Silverpaw, uninjured by battle but still.. his face showed a lot of pain. His good eye was glued to the ground solemnly. He hadn't been able to sleep, he just tossed and turned and seemed to be stuck in a nightmare. Even when he got up earlier that morning, he wandered around like a confused ghost. Being near his apprentice was grounding though, he wrapped his tail around the pale tom and waited for the ceremony to commence.

Honeystorm frowned at Moonface's downcast face, pain stabbing her heart like claws. What can I say? The queen worried, suddenly at lost for words. Gaze clouded, the queen shuffled closer to the she-cat, aiming to press their sides together. "I know this might not mean much, but I was so thankful to see your face in the nursery yesterday. It was just enough to remind me to not lose hope, as I had you there to watch over my kits and myself." The queen whispered, trying to remain unheard by those around her.

He rumbled quickly, not wanting to interrupt Whitestar. Leaning back up, Mintwhiker dipped his head in greeting to his littermate, Rosetail, glad to see her up and moving.

    Batpaw | Apprentice | 14 Moons | Interacting with: Deafpaw (@kira.) and Wisppaw (@)

Stiflingly a yawn, Batpaw very gently tried to bump Deafpaw in the shoulder in greeting. He wrapped his tail around her smaller frame, letting his purr rumble through their contact. He flicked his ears at the sound of paw steps behind him, recognizing Wisppaw immediately by the way she moved. "I'm good, just a bit exhausted." He whispered back, as Whitestar had began the meeting.

  • Moonface paused, her blue gaze turning over to Honeystorm almost as if not really comprehending what she was saying for a few moments. Of all cats... why? She had looked down at her paws, although the queen's words certainly had eased away the initial bite of pain to her heart, it still didn't really take away the fact she still indeed felt quite useless. But, at the very least it seemed as if one cat felt appreciative of her very "limited" efforts. The warrior at the very least didn't move away from Honeystorm, accepting the slight comfort the queen provided. However, she had whispered in response, "Thank you." It still wasn't enough to stop the shame that she felt from going through her. Seeing all of her clanmates injured, some dead... She could have done more. Perhaps she was being way too hard on herself, but Moonface as usual wanted to prove herself to the clan as best as she could. Her former kittypet status would always be hanging over her head, and just her "poor" performance even if she did manage to assist protecting the nursery, it perhaps still wasn't enough.

Regardless, she had shook her head and forced herself to sit up a bit straighter so she wouldn't just be staring at her paws through the whole meeting, her eyes turning back up to Whitestar although there was perhaps nothing that could fully take away the shame within the she-cat's eyes.

  • PLEASE DON'T SAY YOU LOVE ME —

Ravenspot sat on the edge of the meeting, watching her mother worriedly. She knew the leader was strong, but that didn't prevent her from worrying. Russetpaw came forward too, avoiding anyone's gaze. Normally, he might have looked at Larchpaw for support. But now, Russetpaw kept staring blankly forward. Ivorypool was gone, and getting a new mentor was really setting into stone that he was dead and not coming back. Russetpaw said nothing, and showed nothing - his face was blank and he finally turned his gaze to Whitestar, though his expression didn't change. He at least hoped his new mentor would be able to match Ivorypool's training, if nothing else. // Blitz Krieg   cataclysm!

    Whitestar

    75 Moons | She-Cat | 2 Lives Remaining

The ivory she-cat watched as the two apprentices stepped forward, her expression neutral as she gazed at the. She reminded herself that this had to be done, but the thought of reassigning her mate's apprentice solidified the fact that he was indeed gone. Whitestar breathed in sharply before continuing, turning to look at the older tom first. "Sunpaw, Wolfstride was a compassionate and patient mentor. He taught you many things, and I know that you will remember his teachings in the moons to come. But now, the time has come for you to continue your training with a new mentor. I call upon my warrior ancestors to give this apprentice a new mentor." She turned her head, meeting the gaze of the warrior she then named. "Greystreak, you have proven to be a fierce and determined warrior. You will be Sunpaw's new mentor, and I expect you to pass on all you know to him." She knew the choice would be shocking to many of her clanmates, as Greystreak was known to hold on to many of his rogue-ish tendencies. However, Sunpaw was already halfway through his training, so he had a good foundation for the Warrior Code that Wolfstride had taught him. She hoped the responsibility of an apprentice would help the young warrior to accept the ways of the clan more, but only time would tell. She waited for the two to touch noses before moving her eyes to Russetpaw, a lump forming in her throat.

"Russetpaw," She mewed, breathing in once more. "Ivorypool was a loyal and honest warrior. He taught you many things, and I know you will remember his teachings in the moons to come." Her voice hitched slightly when speaking her deceased mate's name, but she paused for a moment to regain the strength in her voice before continuing. "I call upon my warrior ancestors to give this apprentice a new mentor. Runningpool, you have proven to be a wise and compassionate warrior. You will be Russetpaw's new mentor, and I expect you to pass on all you know to him." Whitestar watched as the new mentor and apprentice touched their noises and inclined her head slightly, her eyes finding the evening sky above them. "May Wolfstride and Ivorypool approve of my decisions and continue to guide you throughout your training."

    Stormlight

    46 Moons | Tom | Warrior

The warrior listened intently, a lump forming in his throat. However, he knew this was to be a happy day. Two warriors of the clan would get to experience the joy of guiding an apprentice through their training and teaching them the ways of the clan until the two apprentices received their warrior names. It was an honor like no other. When the two new mentors were named, Stormlight lifted his head and cheered their names, trying his best to remain optimistic. It was the least he could do; after all, Robinpaw would be disappointed to see how down he had been.

    Larchpaw

    10 Moons | Tom | Apprentice

The young tom watched from his nest as his best friend was apprenticed to Runningpool. It was a fitting decision, and he hoped he would get to train alongside them in the future. After his left fully healed, of course. It had been popped back into its socket, but it remained incredibly sore. But, that was to be expected, according to Mintwhisker. With a sigh, he rested his head back on the nest, his tail flicking with boredom.

  • Thornwhisker watched the ceremony with his usual blank expression that remained ever present upon his face. He did hear the pause in Whitestar's voice upon reassigning her former mate's apprentice to Runningpool, that was to be expected albeit Thornwhisker couldn't say he could feel... empathetic. Sympathy... perhaps. It was inevitable in his mind, a leader had nine lives, their mate only would have one. Chances are, the leader would outlive their mate... right? Logical reasoning within his mind, but it still left him somewhat curious. Thornwhisker after all never had deep bonds with anyone before, but regardless he didn't linger upon his previous musings and had glanced over to Larchpaw as the tom look quite bored. That was also to be expected he supposed, and he had murmured under his breath to the younger tom, "As soon as you recover, we'll resume training." Thornwhisker didn't say anything more than that though, his yellow eyes now refocused upon the ceremony.

Moonface watched the ceremony, attempting to push away her self blame and instead attempted to smile as she watched the apprentices be assigned to new mentors. That was great... right? Still, she felt pain herself when Whitestar seemed to be pained over saying Ivorypool's name. Though Moonface would perhaps never understand the close bond between mates, nonetheless, the she-cat felt terrible over the losses that the clan had to suffer. She stubbornly forced herself to not linger too much on the painful thoughts though, knowing fully well she'll begin to loathe herself once more.

    SUNPAW !

male - 9 moons - apprentice - mentor: greystreak - interacting with: whitestar Blitz Krieg | mentions greystreak

    - sunpaw turned his head towards greystreak, his eyes flashing with surprise. greystreak was one of the warriors that sunpaw heavily disliked, even though they barely interact with each other. his arrogance and selfishness gets on his nerves, even from afar. call it hypocritical, but the feeling of irritation remains true. and to add fuel to the fire, despite being apart of the clan now, greystreak still acted like a rogue. "him?" sunpaw blurted, pointing to the smoke tom with his tail. "you've gotta be kidding."
