  • Goldenscare winced at Ivystorm's words, trying his best to hold back any tears. He closed his eyes and soaked in the affection from his clanmate, nuzzling into the tom's dark fur a bit. In that moment he wished he could help the deputy, to tell him he had nothing to be sorry for.. but he stayed silent. He obeyed and slowly followed on toward camp, his heart sinking more with each step. He would be confronted with something horrible when he arrived, he knew it. All the dead and injured, that sharp rancid smell of blood. His focus was broken though when his apprentice popped in. He flattened his ears in shame, "I'm... fine.." He replied quietly, breathing a small sigh of relief. He and Silverpaw got along perfectly as a team, and goldenscare would certainly call him a valued friend. Seeing him alive and well after everything that happened was a real sight for sore eyes. "Is it.. bad?" He asked, wanting to have some way of preparing himself for what he would see in camp. He already had his answer though, seeing Ivystorm with such a shattered heart said it all.

longpaw only looked up upon hearing larchpaw's voice. as he rose, it felt like he had two warriors on his back, weighing him down. his body had never felt so heavy. longpaw crossed the distance between the brothers and buried his face in larchpaw's shoulders. a heave overcame him, and then he was wracked with sobs.

    fernstep interacting with duskstone CasualFacade

during the battle, the apprentices and warriors refused to let fernstep leave which was understandable, but there was something quite unnerving about wrapping your body around your kits and holding them closer than ever before, helpless to do anything except listen to the sounds of screeching dogs and yowling clanmates. the entire battle, even as honeystorm birthed, all she could think about was duskstone.

as soon as the group guarding the nursery dispersed, she uttered a quick "stay here!" to juniperkit and songkit and hurried out of the den. the smell of milk and new kittens was replaced with the rancid, metallic odor of blood. it was only now that she imagined the possibility of her mate's demise. "dusk? duskstone?" she called, eyes flitting around camp anxiously.

  • Duskstone; interacting with Fernstep sylvie!

Duskstone blinked blearily as tears had began to form in his eyes from the exhaustion at the sound of Fernstep's voice, turning towards her worried face across camp. He silently cursed himself for not letting her know he was okay and limped towards her with a soft smile. As he approached her, he took in her scent and gently ducked his head into her chest fur. "I'm okay, Fernstep." He reassured quietly, basically collapsing against her. "Just a little beat up." Duskstone joked as he pulled away, "But I'm okay."

  • PLEASE DON'T SAY YOU LOVE ME —

//I'mma say Ivorypool's body is here too bcuz I haven't seen anybody interact with it yet

Ravenspot glanced sadly at her brother, but didn't turn at Bumbleheart's cry like he did. They'd lost many clan mates today, and it was indeed sad, but Ravenspot wanted her mother to be alive again. The moment Frostspirit greeted Whitestar, Ravenspot burst into silent tears, burying her face into her mother's shoulder. "Oh my god, you can't keep dying," the she-cat managed to speak finally, until she lifted her head and blinked tears out of her eyes to look around camp. Mottledear, Wolfstride, Robinpaw. Ravenspot's eyes scrunched up in pain, but she relaxed a little seeing Batpaw alive and with Heathermoon. Banged up, but alive. That was all that mattered to Ravenspot. Frostspirit was with Whitestar - she had family, now Stormlight needed some company. Ravenspot was painfully unaware of the loss of Ivorypool - his body was not visible, until finally, as she was making her way over to Stormlight, she caught a flash of fur at the edge of camp. Her yellow eyes widened. She'd not seen her father all day, but here he was, just outside of camp. "Stormlight," Ravenspot whispered. She knew her brother was grieving his apprentice - once her mind had cleared, she'd feel guilty that Batpaw was okay and Robinpaw wasn't. But right now, their father lay there, dead, and she'd only just found out. // Blitz Krieg

Heathermoon is waiting for Batpaw. // Rontu

Russetpaw panted heavily, bleeding everywhere. He spotted Mintwhisker and started to make his way over to him, but at Larchpaw and Bumbleheart's sudden cries, he spun back around and limped painfully after Larchpaw. Seeing his denmate, Robinpaw, dead, Russetpaw could do nothing. Stormlight was here grieving, and Ravenspot was only a tail-length away, staring at someone. She whispered Stormlight's name, and Russetpaw felt his heart lurch. The warrior had just lost his apprentice - but where was Russetpaw's mentor? His big yellow eyes frantically followed Ravenspot's gaze, and he let out a whimper. He couldn't distract Larchpaw - death of family was bad enough, even if Russetpaw's mentor had been just like family to him. But before he could take another step, the fluffy russet tom collapsed on his side and fell unconscious from blood loss. // Blitz Krieg   Rontu

  • fernstep interacting with duskstone CasualFacade

the queen's worry melted away at the sight of the love of her life. a loud purr rose from her throat, and she immediately went to giving duskstone affectionate licks as he buried his face in her chest. "i'm so glad you're all right," she purred. even as he pulled away from her, she immediately missed the softness of his fur and went to brushing her cheeks against his. she could still catch his scent, even among the stain of blood and musk of dog.

her gaze then met his shoulder and awkward leg. her breath hitched, ears lowered. "your leg..." fernstep took a hard swallow and forced herself to meet duskstone's eyes. "does it hurt?" her short pause was ended by a tentative, "is it broken?" truly, it was a question she didn't really want the answer to. a broken leg could mean the end of his days as a warrior. that would destroy him.

not answering the question would change if it was broken or not, but not knowing would make it easier to ignore.

  • Duskstone; interacting with Fernstep sylvie!

Duskstone felt heat rising to his ears simply being in Fernstep's presence, purring as she became more relaxed. He always hated making her worry and it felt as though a weight had lifted from him as she spoke but that was quickly ruined by the change in tone. For a moment he didn't speak because he didn't want Fernstep to know his leg felt worse than it looked. Duskstone remained silent for a few more seconds before looking down at his paws, "I'm not...I'm not sure." He confessed, "But I haven't had Mintwhisker look at it yet. Fawnleap looks so much worse and there's more injuries on top of that than we can count."

  • Ivystorm

Interacting w//: Goldenscare, Silverpaw, Ivorypool’s body

Ivystorm blinked solemnly at the apprentice as he came over, his head dipping as he passed him. They’d be okay together he figured, Silverpaw was a capable young cat and so was Goldenscare if given the opportunity. He didn’t truly want to leave yet; he didn’t want to face the camp alone but there was no other option. He was the deputy before he was a clanmate, his responsibility took prescient before he could mour. Keep it together his frayed mind recited as he grew closer and close to camp as the blood scent began to clog his nostrils again. It was choking him, he was drowning in it. There was death mixed in it to, too much of it than starclan should’ve allowed. So many lives were lost today, cats who still had a future that was wrenched away from them so cruelly. He bit on his muzzle as he stumbled across the first body near the entrance. The slumped white pelt of… no… why him? In front of him lay the broken body of Ivorypool.

Ivystorm lost his composure he crumpled, sitting heavily on his haunches as he struggled to bite back his sorrow. He didn’t want anyone to see him like this. “Ivorypool what have they done to you?” He asked the dead tom as his breath hitched again. It felt like only yesterday the tom has herded him across the territory, had taught him how to perform his very first hunting crouch. He remembered his bright smile the first time he’d successfully knocked him over in a sparring match. Oh how they laughed afterwards, Ivypaw thought he was going to get yelled at! that loud boisterous laugh wouldn’t be heard ever again. He owed the tom everything, he’d accepted him with open paws. He was ‘family’ to Ivystorm, he was his second chance at a father after his died. But fate was a cruel thing, he was destined the remain fatherless. He wondered if Stormlight knew, if Whitestar knea, how would they cope? He didn’t budge despite wanting to look away, his eyes hurt. Why’d they hurt?

    Whitestar | 75 Moons | She-Cat | 3 Lives Remaining

The she-cat blinked up at Frostspirit as her younger sister approached, a soft smile on her lips. "Frostspirit, Ravenspot....I'm alright," She murmured softly, still feeling weak due to the wounds that StarClan was unable to repair. It looked like Mintwhisker was able to staunch the bleeding already, so she had nothing to worry about. However, when her daughter suddenly left her side, Whitestar remembered something. Ivorypool....She had seen him in StarClan, which meant he had perished in the battle. She had to tell Ravenspot before she found his body. "Ravenspot," She weakly called after the smokey black she-cat, but it was too late. Her daughter had laid eyes on the corpse of her father. "Frostspirit, I need to get over there," She begged her sister, looking up at the white she-cat with pleading eyes.

    Stormlight | 46 Moons | Tom | Warrior

The tom squeezed his eyes shut, unable to look at his dead apprentice. Poor, young Robinpaw. She should have been with him on patrol, but no....she was left alone here to fend for herself without her mentor. Guilt racked his body, but it was somewhat mitigated by the arrival of his littermate. He swung his large head around to look at her, pain causing his face to contort in an ugly, emotional way. However, he still followed Ravenspot's eyes to the slumped form of Ivorypool not too far away. His heart dropped and his face fell, eyes growing wide. That...that was his father. Using his sister for emotional support, the massive tabby stumbled over to the grey mound of fur and sat crouched there, burying his nose into his pelt, breathing in his scent.

    Bumbleheart | 33 Moons | She-Cat | Warrior

The she-cat raised her head to see her nephews next to her, her sobbing never ceasing. She huddled close to them, never wanting to let the two out of her sight. They were all that was left of their family. She would do everything in her power to protect them. "I-it's okay," Bumbleheart wailed, trying (and failing) to keep her voice even. "Robinpaw is with y-your parents, now."

    Larchpaw | 10 Moons | Tom | Apprentice

The tom's silent tears continued to stream down his face as he embraced his brother's touch, tucking his head over Longpaw's. Robinpaw had always been the one to remind the brothers how to have fun, the one that always kept a smile on her face no matter what happened. Even then, he knew she was watching over them at that moment, chastising them for being so dramatic. He could almost hear her sarcastic voice in his head saying Oh, quit your blubbering. You've got your clanmates to worry about!

  • PLEASE DON'T SAY YOU LOVE ME —

Ravenspot moved a lot more slowly, but once she got there she didn't follow Stormlight's lead. Instead her yellow eyes stared down at the corpse of her father. She didn't breathe his scent in again - that would make it all too real. Instead, she pressed her nose to his head quite simply, lifting her own head with a flash in her eyes. This was hard. Her mother had lost a life and now her father had lost his only life. Her brother had lost his apprentice, an elder had passed away, not to mention one of their newest and truest warriors. Ravenspot shook her head. She wanted to go for a walk, but her clan needed her too much right now. Instead, she pressed herself to her brother, managing to croak, "I'm here. I know you've lost a lot today," under her breath. She looked up at Ivystorm, something like knowing in her eyes. Her father had been the deputy's mentor. "And you, too." Batpaw blinked in surprise at Heathermoon's words. Did she really mean it? "I-I didn't do much.." He stammered, feeling overwhelmed with a dozen or so emotions. Spending so much time of his young life being angry and numb, it was a strange feeling to actually feel. But it was a good strange. And he wouldn't trade it for the world now. Giving his chest a few embarrassed licks, he raised his head and met the older warrior's eyes. "I'd like that, thank you." As quick as the happy feeling took over, it disappeared as fear took its place. "Ravenspot," He gasped, turning quickly to look for his mentor in the cluster of clanmate's around him. The last time he had seen her had been in the forest, before the battle... What if? The young tom nearly sagged in relief when he spotted his mentor's grey coat, and blinking, he realized that he was fighting back tears. It was like the adrenaline from the fight had finally worn off and left him an empty shell. He didn't know what he'd do if she had been killed. Visibly shaken, Batpaw turned back to Heathermoon. "Sorry..." He whispered, unable to raise his voice.

Honeystorm dipped her head to the young apprentice. "I am fine thanks to you and all of our clanmates." The queen rumbled, exhaustion and pride written across her broad face. Her little family had survived, somehow, against all the odds. It was all thanks to those around her. The queen simply didn't think she'd have enough time or words to thank her clanmates. "Would you like to meet them?" Honeystorm asked, pride evident in her voice.

Mintwhisker dropped the few herbs he had in his mouth at the sound of his name being called. He turned on his apprentice so fast, almost in an aggressive way. He charged over to the tom, emotions flickering too fast to be deciphered. Without a word, he was stumbling forward and burying his muzzle into the fur on Brackenpaw's forehead. He let out a choked sob, trying to bring the apprentice as close as possible. "My boy, my boy." The medicine cat murmured, begging this to not be a trick of Starclan. But no, when he stepped back, Brackenpaw was there, shaken up, but very much alive. "When I didn't see you the entire time, I-I thought..." The medicine cat shook his grey head, not willing to go back to those thoughts. He looked at his apprentice, eyes shinning with tears. "Regardless, you're alive. That is all that matters." The large cat nodded and glanced around. He turned back to his apprentice, "You've prepared for this. Go around, find those that are the walking wounded. Anyone who is bleeding basically and treat them with cobwebs and marigold, or anything to prevent an infection. There's a lot of broken bones and dislocated joints, I will work on those individuals in order to spread our work out efficiently. You can do it, because I have seen you do it. Get me if you need me." He rumbled, pulling the apprentice close, before rushing back to Fawnleap.

He blinked gratefully at his sister, before closing his eyes in thought. "Ok, you know how to treat minor injuries yes?" He paused mid-sentence as Smokestorm offered his assitance as well. "Ok, Rosetail take Smokestorm and show him how to treat minor bleeding injuries and scratches. Then come back to join me to help with the severe cases." He stated, sounding more like a deputy than a medicine cat. With a deep breath in, Minkwhisker assessed the deep bite marks across Fawnleap's body. Working quickly, the tom chewed up poultice and with cob webs, bound the worst of her wounds. That just left he dislocated leg. "Fawnleap?" He asked, trying to gauge how aware the she-cat was of her surroundings.

You fought like a true warrior. I'm proud to call you my apprentice." He rumbled, standing up to touch his nose to her forehead. It wasn't often he showed a more genuine, kind side of him, and that was one way to know he was being genuine and truthful. He looked around at the carnage, grimacing as he saw those who had perished. His eyes widened as he caught sight of IvoryPool, gaze falling to the ground. Slowly walking over, he sat close to the fallen warrior with his head hung. IvoryPool was a great cat; one the clan would mourn dearly.

She hissed softly as Marigold was applied to her battle wounds, but the dull throbbing was but a reminded or her life. She perked her ears when her name was spoken, slowly lifting her head to peer at the tom. "I'm awake- A little dizzy and in pain, but alive. I know my leg is out of socket- please do it quickly. It can't hurt any more than it did when it popped out of it's socket, right? I can handle it, MintWhisker." She spoke softly, offering a gentle smile to the tom after a moment. Her eyes trailed down to her leg; it was twisted oddly and laying limp at her side. It was quite a gruesome sight, but she knew it would be fixed shortly.

My vision is a little blurry and my head hurts, but i'm alive." She stated slowly, eyes trailing over to the Kittypet who saved her. He seemed rather nice! Maybe WhiteStar would let him stay for helping? Slowly pulling herself up, her shaking legs took slow steps towards the camp. She felt rather tired, and some sleep sounded goos. You took some heavy blows back there- you all did. I'm in awe of how you all fight. It was amazing! Scary, but amazing!" He stated, watching as the young cat stumbled to her feet. He stepped forward, eyes drifting to DarkBlossom. He knew the female was ignoring him, but they needed to talk... later. His attention turned back to FlickerFlame, shaking his pelt out." Do you need help getting her back to camp? She seems a little wobbily- She hit her head pretty hard when that dog shook her off." he hummed, still wanting to help any way he could.

Interacting w//: Ravenspot, Russetpaw, Ivorypool’s body

It brought him a smidgen of joy to see how many loved ones had gathered around his former-mentor, Ivorypool was a very important to the clan. He would never be forgotten, as long as he and everyone else kept his memory alive. His legacy was surrounding him, kits, apprentices, his clanmates, and his beloveds. Ivystorm wish he could do more to give him a proper send off, but with so many dead ceremonies would have to wait. He didn't know how they'd get through them, the pain was raw and it hurt more than anything he'd ever experienced. His breath had caught up to him although the occasional sniffles and choked sobs still echoed slowly in his voice. He glanced down at Russetpaw, he never got to become a warrior under Ivorypool's guidance. He'd never hear his loud cheering when he received his name, he'd been cheated out of a luxury Ivystorm had. And for that the deputy was truly sorry. His tail brushed lightly against the apprentice, it was barely a consolation but he wanted him to know he understood. He wanted every clanmate to know he understood. He glanced up gratefully up at Ravenspot, he said nothing but he didn't have to.

As the moments passed Ivystorm knew he'd have to get up, he needed to see his sisters. Needed to see who was alive and who else had perished in the fray. His stinging eyes scanned the destroyed camp as he counted. Ivorypool of course, Wolfstride he was supposed to be out of camp he should've been safe but now he lay broken and torn apart. Young Robinpaw, her youthful energy will be missed, may starclan teach you all you need to learn little one. Mottledeer, you may have been old but the clan will miss your stories and wisdom old man. He felt bombarded by another feeling of grief but before he could break he got up and limped away from Ivorypool's body. Before he left he dipped his head to press his nose into his fur for one last time, whisper as a final thanks to the older tom.

    75 Moons | She-Cat | 2 Lives Remaining

The she-cat had been cooped up in the medicine den all day with her wounds healing. StarClan had repaired most of the damages, but she still had a long way to go before her injuries finally dissolved. Now, though, Mintwhisker had finally allowed her to leave the den. After all, today was to be a special occasion. Upon exiting the medicine den, Whitestar's eyes fell on the spot in the center of camp where the four bodies of their fallen clanmates had laid the night before. There, the clan had gathered to mourn their losses. She recalled watching the grief on her kits' faces as they said their farewells to their father, her mate. Pain tugged at her chest but she had to shake away the thoughts, for today was about new beginnings. Whitestar walked slowly to the fallen tree that led up to her cave, wincing with each step. Once at the base, she looked up and knew full well that she wouldn't be able to reach the branch from which she usually called her clan meetings. Well, she supposed the ground would have to do. Sitting beside the fallen tree, the leader lifted her voice to summon her clan: "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey join here beneath the Slanted Tree for a clan meeting!" The dusk patrol had just returned, so no cats should be out of camp. Yes, this would be a good time to do this. Besides, it had to be done.

    Stormlight

    46 Moons | Tom | Warrior

The tom lay slumped outside of the warrior's den, eyes half-closed and solemn. Robinpaw had been on his mind all day. He had helped lay the young she-cat to rest the night before during her burial, but it still didn't seem real. Waking up this morning without an apprentice to pester was something the tom was not used to. He had dreamed of the day that she would receive her warrior name, but now that day would never come. He was brought back down to earth when he spotted his mother limp out of the medicine den and make her way to the Slanted Tree. Brow furrowing, the tom got to his paws and began to make his way over to her, already knowing what was coming. Sure enough, Whitestar sounded the summoning of the clan, and so Stormlight took a seat near the front, wrapping his tail around himself. He had an idea of what this meeting would be about. After all, two apprentices had lost their mentors in the battle. Someone else would have to train them.

    Bumbleheart

    33 Moons | She-Cat | Warrior

Bumbleheart lay in her nest, nose tucked into her paws before the sound of her leader's voice rang throughout the hollow. Her cheeks were stained with tears, but she tried her best to brush them away with her paws before getting to her feet. The ginger tabby stepped outside and silently padded towards the Slanted Tree, sitting near the back of the group.

    Larchpaw

    10 Moons | Tom | Apprentice

Larchpaw was stuck in the medicine den, his leg wrapped up in some sort of leaves that Brackenpaw had recently changed. He huffed softly as Whitestar called the clan meeting, but luckily, he was able to see a bit of what was going on from his nest. He squirmed a bit to reposition himself in order to get a better look.

  • Somber and heavy, that was the mood the day after. Thornwhisker could feel it, and it was expected. The losses, the pain, the agony, that was what the warrior could see in the gazes of the clanmates. He couldn't say he felt completely separated from the whole affair, it was indeed extremely painful and agonizing to be around such a heavy mood and he could not bring himself to say anything to anyone... He never felt grief before, sadness, even though he found it illogical to linger too much upon the dead and attempt to move forward, he still felt aware that his clanmates needed time to heal. Some wounds could only be healed in time.

The warrior's gaze lingered upon Larchpaw, knowing that the young cat also experienced losses. He moved closer to his apprentice whom was peering out of the medicine cat den, setting down near him in silence as his gaze settled now upon Whitestar as she had called out her summons. The tip of his tail resting in silence upon Larchpaw's shoulder although he did not say a single word, his apprentice was wounded. The least he could do as his mentor was provide some comfort to the young tom, Thornwhisker wasn't a tom of many words after all, but his actions showed he cared. The warrior had recovered enough that he could perform warrior duties once more, aside from a few painful ribs still hurting he wasn't in so much pain as he once had.

Moonface slowly crept from her den, not truly wanting to move outside with the rest of her clanmates. Although she had helped with Honeystorm, the she-cat felt... unbearably useless. She didn't and couldn't comfort her clanmates and that ate at her heart terribly. Each loss that they had suffered felt too painful, too much. Perhaps she was far too sympathetic to her clanmate's pain, however she couldn't help it. It simply hurt too much. Moonface finally settled near the back of the meeting, her gaze downcast, looking at her paws as if she felt shame in just being there, as useless as she always had been.

  • //rushed at the end, something came up and i had to go somewhere!

    COMETFALL !

    male - 20 moons - warrior - apprentice: n/a - interacting with: open

    - cometfall had been cooped up in the medicine den along with many of his clanmates, although the laidback tom wasn't as restless as most of them. if his leg hadn't been broken and his mind rattled from the attack, he would've called this lazy day perfect. his dozing was interrupted by whitestar, who was calling a clan meeting. his ear twitched, guessing that she was going to assign new mentors to those who lost them. he positioned himself where he could watch from his nest, although he looked disinterested.

Honeystorm | Queen | Interacting with: Moonface (@NEBBY.)

Honeystorm flicked her ears curiously at the sound of her leader's call. Luckily for the queen, her kits were fast asleep. Knowing she wouldn't be missed, at least for a little bit, the queen slid out of the nursery and into the heavily shadowed camp. Spotting solemn faces around her, the queen wished for nothing but the ability to take away their pain. But she didn't have that kind of power. But she could comfort. At least a little bit. She let her tail brush those she passed, desperate to let them know that they weren't alone. Feeling a little self-conscious for being rather lucky during the attack, the queen took up residence at the back of the group until she spotted Moonface. Eager to sit with someone, the queen slipped past other warriors and took up residence by Moonface with a dip of her head.

Batpaw | Apprentice | 14 Moons | Interacting with: Open

Stiflingly a yawn, the young tom slid out into the open, struggling to keep his eyes open. As one of the few relatively unscathed from the attack, the tom had been at work hunting and patrolling as often as he could. But now, the past two days of activity were catching up to him. It seemed like his paws were made of lead and it was a constant battle to not want to slip off and take a nice long nap.

Mintwhisker | Medicine Cat | 60 Moons | Interacting with: Thornwhisker (@NEBBY.) and Larchpaw (@Blitz Krieg)

"You move another inch and I'll keep you in here even longer." Mintwhisker rumbled from where he lay curled in his nest. He had been sleeping well, but Larchpaw's shuffling had awoken him. The tom sighed, figuring he should get up now anyway. He had always been easy to wake, which made treating cats easier, but honestly the medicine den was very crowded and very loud to the older tom. He cast a glance at Larchpaw to make sure the apprentice didn't seem to be in any pain, before sitting outside of the medicine den. He wasn't willing to stray too far from his patients. As Thornwhisker approached them, the medicine cat's face morphed into a glare that read You better not rile him up and make him move.
