  • I’M BACK TO TAKE WHAT’S YOURS —

The kit was five months old now. It had been a long time sense her shaky start in life. Jewelpelt and Pinefall were good to her. So was fond of her father and had little memory of her old life. What she did know was simple. Her brothers were ether asleep or busy. She was alone just outside the nursery. Watching for the warriors and apprentices. Longing to be with them. She would let out a soft chirp before standing. Eyes on a leaf that a warrior kicked closer to her in their passing. Little form crouching she would wiggle her haunches and leap. Silver fur a blur as she arched through the air. Only to miss and tumble in the dirt nearby.

  • 「 I take my pills, and I'm happy all the time—

It felt like ages had passed since Pinefall welcomed these kittens to darkclan, with the help of the molly Jewelpelt that is. Despite being for the kittens at almost every turn he did get things done, usually heading out on an early morning patrol before they woke up. Returning only back into camp to witness Mistykit tumble into some dirt and debris left by one of the windier days. "Are you ok Mistykit?" His question seemed to dip lightly into worry, always being quite protective and caring during times like these.

Being given the chance to care for such young ones was the driving force for the warrior. Keeping the clan and borders safe meant they were better off when time came to become an apprentice.

Jewelpelt smiled at the kitten, her eyes sparkling. It felt like ages from when she had found Pinefall trying to help it. And as her own kits were not supposed to be with her anymore, she would often watch her. She wanted the best for Mistykit- she wanted the best for every kit. The best for every cat.

The silver kit was her favorite since she first curled her into her calico fur and embraced her with her long fluffy tail. And now, it was growing. Her silver pelt glittering in the sunrise as the kitten leapt for the leaf. But it looked like something wasn't alright- perhaps the kit was lonely? She would need some friends soon. The Maine coon smiled slightly as PineFall asked the question, and elegantly approached. She dipped her nose to the kitten, aiming to help her get up from the dust.

  • I’M BACK TO TAKE WHAT’S YOURS —

The kit was a bit surprised to hear her father’s voice. Then, she was nudged up from the dirt and noticed Jewelpelt was there as well. Her parents, at least in her eyes. She let her eyes flick to her paws as she noted the dirt that cling to her pelt. I’m okay. Save for her bruised pride. That was a little less okay. She did not need her family to see her fail like that.

Honestly, she felt a bit annoyed with herself. Looking up and letting her tail swish, the dusty kit would puff out her chest a tiny bit. I won’t let it get away next time! I am going to be a warrior one day! No leaf can stop me. Was that pride talking? Maybe it was. But, she meant it. She wanted to make her father proud. Her family proud.

  • 「 i'm not alive if i'm lonely — so please don't leave 」

Bunn' on the other hand, wasn't so excited to become a warrior. The small, sickly-looking brown tom was a true pacifist at heart - hell, he still prayed for the souls of his prey to go to starclan! He was naive and timid and shy, and had a heart much to big for his dainty, delicate, breakable body. Not that it mattered much to him - after all, despite how often he came down with colds and how easily his asthma acted up, his sunflower-yellow eyes were still wide and bright with love and happiness, and he showed curiosity and excitement as he learned and explored the world around him. Sure, much of what he found scared him, but he did his best not to dwell in that fear, and though he still had a dark outlook at times, life was pretty alright for the kit. "H-hello." he'd say simply, the greeting not much more than a nervous whisper drawn from his lips as he slowly crept out of the nursery, feeling a bit nervous and needlessly insecure. If he was honest with himself, he'd say he was jealous of how excited and outgoing mistykit was - how confident both his siblings seemed compared to him. But he wasn't, and so he ignored that dark, nagging pull on his heart and put on a small, shy smile.

Jewelpelt smiled at the signs of Mistykit's lost pride. "I bet you'll be a perfect warrior. When I was slightly bigger than you, leaves also bothered me so much. I couldn't catch them," she purred towards her beloved kit. It was true. But it was because she never had a chance to even touch leaves until the twolegs kicked her out. The kittypet was pretty sure this dropped-off kit would once be a far better warrior than the exhibition cat could ever be. Then she turned her deep brown eyes to Pinefall. The kitten didn't even know she was a kittypet once. Maybe she thought she was a honorable warrior, like Pine. But Jewelpelt couldn't even take on an apprentice. She would need to be trained herself, and she would fail all the tests if the wanted to test her. She was barely able to catch any prey, and fighting was just not even thinkable off. Again, Jewelpelt didn't even know where the tom came from. He was just there as she joined, and now the kitten thought of her as 'mother'. She was a real mother, but her kits were somewhere far, far away.

When the brown kitten approached, Jewelpelt barely noticed him, or at least didn't want to show she did. The sophisticated female had a bad habit of not liking the less assertive ones. The cat with rough rivals have been taught to always stand up for herself and try to go through everything to get to the top. Maybe she wasn't like this in the clans anymore, but she still didn't like the ones who just kept being mocked. She in her head thought that in order to earn her respect they need to show at least little signs of assertivity. They needed to lear to stand up for themselves. And that was what Rabbit missed in her opinion.

"Of course you will dear, maybe even deputy at the rate you're going" He purred softly towards his daughter, delighted to see she hadn't gotten hurt from that rough tumble. His attention left the grey she kit and instead turned to the brown kitten he knew as Bunnykit. Pinefall was worried about him since day one, always coming down with colds or having trouble breathing. "Bunnykit? You feeling any better today? He didn't acknowledge the way Jewelpelt seemed to ignore his son, but might have a conversation about it later.

Bunny needed cats to help him feel more comfortable around here. Being ignored was one of the worst feelings, as you began to think you didn't belong. "Did you want to try to do something today? Mistykit would be delighted if you'd join her" The Abyssinian had a smile appear on his maw, wanting the two to get along. Siblings were supposed to always be there for one another, as their parents weren't always available.

The calico smiled softly at Mistykit again, then turned her sight with much more coldness with her eyes to Bunnykit, just like back when she was an calm and arrogant exposition cat. But love was the fate, and love changed everything. When she looked at Pinefall's worried look, she slighly put on a worried face too, and started talking. "Well, Mistykit is here alone so you probably could play with her a little. Training you sould leave for when you become apprentices. As you are now kits, the quality of the pelts needs to increase in peace." Oh my gosh you frick, this is seriously the best advice you could give them, you weirdo. Pinefall will hate you for this. The she-cat started searching for something to play with. Mumbling she started stepping around. "Well, what do kits play with? A ball? Wait, how am I supposed to find a plastic ball here. Or a plush mouse? No, that probably won't be here neither. Pinefall, what am I supposed to find here?" she asked, increasing and clarifying her voice at the end, turning to the male. She may have thrown off the collar, but some her words and acts spoke for her.

  • I’M BACK TO TAKE WHAT’S YOURS —

The girl perked up as the adults spoke to her and then she heard that soft voice. Eyes flicking over to her sickly sibling. She felt a twinge of pity. He was so sick so often. She just, hated that for him. Then again, she always felt jealous of him. He was so dainty and everyone seemed to look out for him. She, o the other paw, was a rough and tumble basic kit. Not as attention grabbing.

Standing, she frowned and then looked to her father as he spoke. What could they play without him being hurt? She would then hear the words of Jewelpelt and blink. Wait, what were those. What are those? Mice are, food right? Blinking in confusion, she would turn her gaze back to her sibling. We can play with a moss ball maybe?
