I subscribe to my very own version of zombies.
Zombies are dead humans walking. Their brain are completely dead and useless. That's right, cutting off their heads kills the head, not the body. You gotta aim for the spine or heart. The specific science of them will be in the last paragraph of this passage.
Also, the people here did not miss the last sixty years of pop fiction, so they will refer to these zombie-like creatures as zombies. In fact, you'll see a lot of headless zombies shambling along because of early survivors remembering the Walking Dead and stuff.
Zombies are either humans or white mice, the latter being very rare. They were infected with a parasite before they died, at some point. A lot of humans have these now, though not everyone. This parasite fights with the brain for control of the body, but is not capable of overpowering the brain while it's alive, so when you die, the parasite immediately takes control via the part of the spinal cord right behind the heart, controlling both movement and blood flow. (They can bleed to death, but the parasite's very good at preventing blood flow to severed areas) It takes between an hour and 2 days to completely gain control, and when it does, its goal is to infect anyone else it can, or if you're already infected, kill you so your parasite can take over. A bite or scratch is not necessarily fatal.
The group lives in a campground in the White Mountains, near Woodstock, New Hampshire. They generally give families their own campgrounds.
The campground doesn't have an arcade or anything, it's pretty much primitive, except for the beautiful bathrooms and showers just out of sight. There's a brook called Eastman Brook, which connects to the Pemigewasset River; this brook is full of handy ammunition in the form of pebbles, and the bigger rocks can be stacked to form signals. Because of the natural positions of the rocks, there's a fast-moving current that children like to race down in tubes, which also works as a transportation system downstream if the need arises. There's also a pond; it's rather gross, so it's not used recreationally, but there's fish for food.
The shower-house/bathrooms is a red building in the middle of the circle of campsites (The whole thing is shaped sort of like a Q.), easily accessible to everyone, so it's used as a meeting place and shelter in case your tent floods. While the lights and electric no longer work, all water is collected from rain collectors, so everything else is usable and drinkable. In front of the shower-house is a small field, around 40 square feet ( square meters). This is perfect for playing Frisbee games.
Next to sites 13 and 14, there's a short pathway that leads to a bigger field. This field contains firewood, extra site picnic tables, and a biplane. Its approximately 1.5 square miles.
The closest town is a place called Woodstock. It's a hike by foot, so runs will most often be done on bikes, or sometimes trucks. There's no permanent residents, no houses, but they've got overpriced clothing and ice-cream! It's mostly unraided, actually, due to being in the inaccessible mountains. It's there because it's nearby the Cascades, a popular hiker tourist attraction.
OOC: Be reasonable, you know what's expected of you. Please don't make me put a list here!
I don't use code words.
Outsiders who want to join will be kept in site 27 until proven 'safe'.
Outsiders get calibrated BB guns. Just enough to kill the zombies, not enough to kill a human.
Families are kept together.
Let kids be kids.
All decisions will be made together, as a group.
Many people will be listed twice! This is the gender counter!
