cori blue
cori watched josh as he stood up, a bit surprised at his offer. honestly, being invited to the show wasn’t anything new for her, but considering that they had just started talking again, she really wasn’t expected to be invited again so soon. “really?” she smiled, standing up and nearly reaching for his hand. but she stopped herself. she had to keep reminding herself that they were taking things slow, warming back up to one another. but still, habits were habits and even after nearly a year of not doing it, she still felt the urge to do it. “of course i’ll come, i’ll always be there for you.” she playfully bumped his shoulder, hoping that he realized she meant it, even if she said it so casually. she would always be ready to do whatever he asked of her, ready to do whatever he needed her to do, and always be ready to be at his side. even when they weren’t together, she was still more than willing to do something for him if he had asked.
“and food sounds amazing right now, i’m starving.” she groaned playfully, and then started walking, hoping to get to wherever they would be eating as quickly as they could. sure, starving was an exaggeration, but she was hungry. “you choose where we go, you always choose the best places.” she looked back at him, a smile still on her face. he just made her so genuinely happy, and she would forever be grateful that he was back in her life. and hopefully for good this time.
“you still have to tell me all the things i’ve missed. something exciting had to happen since the last time we talked, right?” she asked, hoping that they could catch up with one another while they ate. she wanted to hear all the stories that she missed out on, and tell him so many things that had happened in her life that he had missed out on.
(( i know my replies were terrible, i’m sorry !! if you want to timeskip to later in the day, i think that could work? ))

elijah king
elijah could barely contain his excitement. everything about today just felt so right. first, he was able to get madison to forgive him and back into his life, and now he was hearing about her accomplishments. he was so beyond proud of her, he wasn’t sure that he’d ever be able to formulate the words to show just how happy he was for her and how genuinely proud he was. she really deserved this, and if she didn’t win that award; well then people just didn’t see how amazing and hardworking she was.
“that’s amazing mads, you really deserve it.” elijah smiled, reaching over and grabbing her hand again, giving it a gentle squeeze. it was such a small and innocent act, but because they haven’t done anything in such a long time, it felt like the biggest, boldest move ever, and elijah could only hope that madison didn’t mind him doing it. sure, she had taken hold of his hand earlier, but that was more for comfort. this was affectionate and elijah really hoped that it was okay with her.
“hey do you have anything to do tonight?” he asked softly, hoping that she would be free. “because if you are, and if you want to come, i’d really like it if you came to the show tonight. i mean, you are my good luck charm,
after all.” he laughed, recalling how he used to constantly call her that. it had started off as a dumb, cute little joke between them, but he had quickly realized it was true after messing up a few times at shows that she wasn’t there to support him at. she really was his everything, from his best friend to his soulmate to his good luck charm. she was everything.
“plus i’m sure the other boys would really like to see you again. i’m not sure who hated me more when we broke up, you for doing what i did or them for making them lose one of their best friends.” elijah laughed again, though this time more softly. he knew it was too early to make even the most innocent jokes about what happened, but that’s just how he dealt with things that hurt him, and he hoped that madison didn’t mind too much. “but really, it’d mean a lot to me if you could come tonight.”
