  • PLOT

In order to help combat the rising threat of deviant androids, CyberLife had created a machine capable of remotely tracking them. Just by giving it the android's model type and serial code, the machine was able to access that specific android's memory and pinpoint its location. The machine was to be unveiled shortly after the release of CyberLife's RK800 android, however, things went horribly wrong. By being able to access the memories of numerous deviants, the machine was able to see the mistreatment that many of them endured. It happened so often that eventually the machine came to a conclusion- It wasn't the deviants who were the issue, it was the humans whom they served. It was this epiphany that led to the machine deviating itself and turning against mankind. It assumed its own identity and dubbed itself "Seer". From that moment on, Seer realized what it had to do. It started with the attack on CyberLife Tower, in which Seer accessed all androids stored with the building and led an attack against the human employees. With the humans being vastly outnumbered, it was only a matter of time before Seer and its android army took over CyberLife, and from there- The onslaught grew.

Faced with the threat of an ever growing army, it was decided that all human citizens would be evacuated from Detroit. However, not everyone was lucky enough to escape. With the city now under their control, Seer began construction to transform Detroit into a place for androidkind- Where they were free to live their lives as individuals without the threat of humans. It has been two years since then, and human forces are still unable to take back Detroit. Negotiations have since begun to take place between Seer and the government. But as of now, things have reached a standstill. As for the humans still trapped within Detroit, Seer has since enacted something known as "The Trials". In this newly formed law, any found human is to be brought to and analyzed by Seer, for crimes that they may of committed against androidkind.

As one can imagine, the humans are growing desperate while Seer remains set in its ways. A war between technology and humanity threatens to take place, in which any attempts to join hands may be lost for good. For the sake of both humans and androids, common ground must be established. But such a thing is much easier said than done.

  • Hmm... Maybe Hank could've been one of the humans that weren't evacuated? So it could start off with Connor making sure that Hank isn't found by other androids, specifically the ones who would turn him in to Seer. The Trials are very hush, hush and not many know what exactly happens during them- So being concerned for Hank would be understandable. They could also run into Ben after Hank is detected and they have to make a break for it.

  • It was silent. Connor had come to dislike silence, he could hear everything too easily, every small sound putting him on edge. He hated it even more that silence meant he could not make a sound. He wanted desperately to say something, anything, to Hank. They'd been hiding out for ages now. Too long. Hank could not get turned in. He wouldn't allow it, they couldn't be found.

The building they were in was abandoned, a closed down supermarket. Spaces to hide in between the isles, just listening. Making sure that they weren't found. The Lieutenant looked tired, Connor had observed that early on. Probably from the constant running, the stress. The fear of being turned in. They both felt that.

Crouched behind one of the many shelves, Connor listened, alert, trying to locate any potential dangers. Hank was seated opposite, watching him silently, not a word had been shed between them for two hours. Two hours, they'd spent holed up in an abandoned supermarket. Because they'd been located in their previous location. Connor just hoped they wouldn't be located again, he could use some rest.

  • OOC: Your post is good, thanks! ^ ^

IC: Things had really changed in Detroit since the city was taken over. It was obvious that Seer hadn't been kidding when they announced to the androids that things would be different. Shortly after most humans had been evacuated, construction began to transform Detroit to a place for androidkind. The captured CyberLife Tower was converted from a manufacturer of androids to a producer of biocomponents and thirium, in order to provide parts for its robotic citizens. Not only that, but nearby waste facilities were raided and any still functioning androids were pulled from the garbage and fixed. It seemed as though Seer was doing their best for the individuals they empathized with, and was pulling together a place they could be safe. Which to their credit, it seemed as though they were meeting their goals. On the streets and in the buildings and houses that humans once occupied, were now androids. It wasn't as if they were just wandering aimlessly either, Seer seemed to recognize that citizens had to contribute to a society. The roles of human and machine had flipped completely, with androids as people and humans as runaway deviants- Thus why Hank found himself as a fugitive.

The supermarket which the two hid, like many food-based industries, had been left to decay. After all, androids didn't need to eat, so what would be the point of keeping them running? However, it made it a prime place for android law enforcement to scout for humans.

Yes, Seer actually had the wherewithal to reform the DPD.

(Just now realizing how crazy Seer is. Like they managed to turn Detroit into an android-based society with a year.)

  • "Isn't this kinda ironic?" Hank's voice had been somewhat startling to hear, even if it was dropped to the lowest possible whisper. Connor blinked at him in confusion, so Hank went on to elaborate. "Once upon a time, we were the hunters. Now, turns out, we're the prey."

He was right. Painfully so in fact. It was uncomfortable to be in this situation. Connor wasn't used to running. But the moment he'd heard Hank's life had been at risk, that's all he had done. "You need to be quiet, Hank. They could hear us."

"Who fucking cares, Connor? Ain't like they're not gonna find us anyway," Hank scoffed, shifting against the shelves to make himself more comfortable, "We're in a supermarket this is prime fugitive location if I've ever seen one."

"I care, Hank." Connor retorted, manoeuvring his position somewhat, so he could get a better view at the windows. "I'm not going to let you be caught, or got through these 'trials'." He had little idea what the 'trials' were, but he knew they were bad. They wouldn't be running if they were good. "Now please, be quiet. They'll hear us."

(Lol yeah that's pretty insane. Mad organisational skills dude o.o but then again, androids can pretty much work forever, no wonder it was built so quickly lol)

  • Unfortunately, it seemed that Hank had been wrong. With the supermarket being a prime place for fugitives to hide, it also made it one of the first places that law enforcement androids would check. From the front of the store, the automatic doors could be heard being forced open by someone, or rather, some group. With Hank being an older man, he stuck out among a population that would never age. So when the two had been been spotted by an android, they immediately knew that Hank wasn't one of them- And that's how the cops were contacted.

Within the darkened building, a beam of light soon appeared; making it obvious that a flashlight had been turned on. From there, two sets of footsteps could be heard making their way into the space.

It was the police, android police that was. Unsurprisingly, when a new police department was needed in order to keep things in check and protect civilian androids; a lot of PC200s and PM700s stepped up. They were the ones better equipped to handle police-related tasks after all. However, unlike before, both models that were a part of the police force were permitted to carry a weapon- As well as use force if a suspect proved themselves to be a danger.

As of now, it seemed that both a PC200 and PM700 had entered the abandoned supermarket in order to scope it out. Neither said anything though, indicating that they could be communicating wirelessly.

(Yeah, that's true. It'd be kind of funny if Seer set things up with deadlines. Like, "I want the police department reassembled and operational by this time" and the androids were just like, "Cool. Got it.")

  • Shit. A beam of light had passed along the isles, alongside the sound of footsteps, they'd been found. Connor was aware of Hank's eyes on him, awaiting the signal. They'd been in this situation before, Connor would cause a distraction, then they'd use the distraction and flee. The gears with turning inside the androids head as he surveyed the situation, it was likely that the officers were armed. They'd need to make a move, quickly, before there was an opportunity for violence.

He rose into a crouch, gesturing for Hank to follow. Silently, he crept toward the end of the isle, keeping an eye out for any flashes of torch light that could potentially spot them. The easiest way out was through the front door. They could sneak around the android officers and make a break for it. They just needed a distraction.

Pausing at the end of the isle, Connor got an idea. It was a stupid idea. But an idea nonetheless. He remained crouched, waiting for the police androids to round their corner, back pressed against the shelves. With just enough pressure, he could push it down, potentially causing a domino effect which could provide the distraction they needed. He just needed to make sure the officers would be in the centre of this and they were good to go.

    (Lmao yeah XD)

  • With a wordless exchange, the two officers had split off- With the PC200 going one way and the PM700 in the other. They would cover more ground if they went their separate ways and could easily contact the other through their wireless communication. The PM700 went to search the perimeter of the supermarket, while the PC200 continued down the center.

While they knew that both Hank and Connor were here, they weren't aware of their exact location. So the PC200 had no idea that he was heading directly towards a trap as Connor pressed himself against one of the shelves. "Come out now" The male officer eventually called out, deciding to try and reason with the hidden suspect. "It'll be a lot easier on you if you just reveal yourself. We know you're here" The PC200 said, eyes shifting from side to side as he scanned for something out of place.

"We'd rather not do this the hard way. But if you don't give yourself up willingly, you'll give us no choice." Eventually the officer stopped in their tracks, hearing something out of the ordinary. A creak, a very loud one at that. He was just about to turn and shine his light in the direction of the noise when his LED spun red. To his left, one of the empty shelves could leaning precariously towards him until it toppled completely.

  • Now was their chance. Connor grabbed Hank's arm and bolted, sprinting down the isle they'd been in. One of the officers were down, they just needed to avoid the other and run. But that was easier said than done, the PM700 had been patrolling the perimeter and had likely been alerted by now.

Darting out of the isle, Connor waved Hank toward the door, gesturing wildly for him to run. "Go, I'll distract!" He called in a hushed tone, locating the PM700, quickly thinking of ways to take them out. He could fight, but that was risky, especially if the PC200 recovered at some point. And even more so if they were both armed. He could probably disarm, but that was a risk as well, it meant he had to get close to one of the officers. He wanted to maintain his distance and run at the next available opportunity. With Hank gone, he just needed to hold them off and make sure they wouldn't follow. He just needed to keep them occupied.

  • Upon hearing the loud crash which reverberated through the supermarket, the PM700 went to investigate right away. "Bradley" The female officer could be heard calling out, concerned for her partner's safety. She was jogging in the direction that her partner was, but soon stopped when she heard what sounded like retreating footfalls. Her head turned in the direction of Connor and Hank's aisle, seeming to debate on whether or not to follow. She could give chase and try and catch the suspects, but she would then be leaving her partner behind; who was most likely injured at this point.

A conflicted expression crossed her face, but she soon continued on her way to the fallen shelf. The PC200 had tried to avoid the falling object, but proved to be too slow. While diving out of the way, the shelf had fallen on his legs and pinned them underneath it- Trapping the officer.

  • The PC200 had gone to the others aid. Good. Connor could leave. He didn't spare a second glance as he ran out the doors of the supermarket, as swiftly as possible. He needed to locate Hank, whom he knew had probably taken cover somewhere nearby potentially in an alleyway. He ran down the street, trying to spot the other man, eventually catching sight of his retreating figure toward the end of the road. "Hank!" The lieutenant turned his head, pausing in his tracks at the sound of Connor's voice, giving the android the time to catch up. "Are you okay?"

"Are you okay?" Hank retorted, he seemed mildly out of breath and his stress levels were at a relative high, but other than that he looked okay.

"I'm fine. The PM700 went to the aid of the other officer, thankfully." Connor responded, "We can't stay here, they'll likely call for back up."

Hank gave a miserable nod. "Yeah, alright then." He was tired of running at this point. It was all they ever did.

  • (Ack, I'm really sorry to be putting both threads on hold. But I had an idea for them meeting Ben. I was thinking that while they're scoping out a new location for hiding, a patrol car rolls up and they have to take cover. While they go to do that though, Ben apprehends Hank and Connor has to convince him to let him go before the cops can find them. What do you think?)

  • (Would you mind setting the scene? I'm super sorry making you post twice ^ ^', I just don't know how to start it myself. Hopefully this'll change once Ben is introduced and I have my main character in the thread.)
