  • Alexander nodded slightly. He honestly looked like he saw a ghost. He slowly lifted his eyes to look up at Leslie then. “O-Okay. I-I won’t be able to sleep after seeing him. I-I am sorry you had to meet him. I wish I had never gotten with him. H-He has ruined me and he won’t ever leave me alone. He is always going to be in my mind.” He spoke truthfully. He was leaning heavily against the back of the chair. He was also slouched over.

  • "We'll watch a movie then, if that's okay. I'm sure the cats will want to cuddle and we can take over the living room." Leslie hoped that'd be okay as he then excused himself to go talk to one of his coworkers real quick before making his way back to Alexander. "Alright, we can go. Think you can stand or do you need my help?"

  • Alexander slowly moved to try and get up as Leslie came back into the room. He was still a little shaky, but he managed to stand. “I can walk on my own I think. Do we have any cookies at the house? Or popcorn or something? Or hot chocolate..” He rambled off a little bit then and looked down at his feet. He felt like he was talking too much then.

  • "Yes. We've always got cookies or pastries or something and hot chocolate. I'll give you some cookies when we get home, and I'll make some hot chocolate. You can change into some of the clothes you bought for sleeping in." Leslie explained that all as he led Alexander out of the back door rather than through the front and took him around to his car. He immediately turned the heaters on once in the car, wanting to warm them both up immediately. "Just ask me if you need anything, okay?"

  • Alexander was hugging himself gently as he walked out to the car with him. He leaned back in his seat then. The heat being blown onto his face by the vent made him feel very good. “Okay, I will. Do you have any fluffy blankets I could cuddle with? That way I get Adalwine’s comfort and a blanket comfort.” He asked. He was keeping his voice as strong as he could. “And I will. T-Thank you Leslie. I appreciate this.” He spoke truthfully.

  • "Of course. We've definitely got a few. I'm someone who does indeed enjoy the most comfortable of things so fluffy blankets is a must have in my house." Leslie kept his tone a bit joking in hopes that it may help with the mood. "Adalwine seems to love them too. He'll always paw at them and out of any blankets those are the ones he chooses to cuddle with. Larkspur on the other hand likes my lap. Don't think you've really met him, have you? He tends to really only cling to me and Glenn, doesn't do to well with strangers. He'll warm up over time, but, it takes a while. Truthfully, only person I've seen him really ever bond with is Marie; she's a friend of mine from the bar." He continued to talk, not aiming to annoy but just to hopefully take Alexander's mind elsewhere. As he spoke he'd wave one of his hands a bit in small motions, kind of acting out what he was saying. Even in the darkness of the night the passing street lights clearly highlighted his caramel skin though it seemed to hide everything else. The very, very faint freckles that basically everyone missed were impossible to see but the small scars on his hands were not. Most of them were from glass from incidents at the bar, but that was all.

  • Alexander truly was appreciating how much Leslie was talking, and the topics he brought up. It was slowly pulling his mind away from his ex. It was hard to do. “I really do love Adalwine. He is such a cuddly cat. He seems to already love me too. And no, I don’t think I have even seen Larkspur yet. Maybe he will come out while we watch the movies. I would love to see him. I’ve always really enjoyed cats.” He spoke truthfully then. He knew that he needed to respond as it was his only way to continue to keep his mind off of things. He slowly shifted to look at him then. He found some amusement in how he was flapping his hands around. Earlier when Leslie had hugged him, he had noticed the freckles in his face. Now he was noticing the scars on his hands. “If you don’t mind me asking, where did those scars come from? And did you know you have freckles on your face?” He asked gently. His eyes had softened a little bit.

  • "Oh? These?" Leslie asked although he did know very clearly about which ones Alexander was talking about. "Just mostly from things at the bar. Glasses get dropped a lot, so, I've sliced my fingers pretty well on a few decent shards." He explained with a small shrug. "It happens. Plus you get a few angry customers often. It's a bar, after all." Looking over at Alexander he offered a small smile. "Also, I'm sure Larkspur will come out eventually. He'll most likely sit on my lap. It might take him a while to warm up but he will eventually." There was a pause before he recalled the rest of Alexander's question. "Oh, yeah, I knew I had them. I'm surprised you noticed, most people don't. I don't like them, really. Glenn has an obsession of making constellations out of them. It's kind of silly, really."

  • Alexander nodded along a little as he listened to him talking about the scars. “That makes a lot of sense. You don’t seem like the clumsy type though. I hope a lot of people haven’t hurt you with glasses.” He spoke truthfully. He was starting to realize how he was sounding. He didn’t want to reveal what he had thought of earlier. “I noticed them this morning when you hugged me. I like them a—“ He broke off then, realizing what he was about to say. He seemed to tense up once more. He didn’t know why he was being like this. It made him angry with himself. He looked down at his lap. He knew he would never be able to replace Glenn. He knew Glenn was Leslie’s world. He could tell by the way they looked at each other. He would never achieve that.

  • "I'm more clumsy than you expect." Leslie pointed out, noticing how Alexander had cut himself off and was acting quiet now. "Hey, I know what you were going to say. Or, at least, I think so. There's nothing wrong with complimenting me on something. Not that I'll believe them all the time, but, don't think anything you say will make me feel awkward. I know I've complimented you, and I still will. I could just be rambling about nothing if I got that all wrong, sorry about that." He said with a bit of soft smile. "So, cheer up, alright? We're almost home. You can have some Adalwine cuddles, a fluffy blanket, and hot chocolate. Make sure to change into something comfy first though."

  • “I don’t think I have the right to compliment you Leslie. That is Glenn’s job. I am sorry. I will keep my mouth shut about stuff like that from now on, I promise. You don’t have to watch a movie with me if you don’t want to. It is late and you should get some rest. I am sure Glenn will be in bed by this time. Go join him.” Alexander quickly told the other male. He got out of the car once they got to the house. He moved to his room so he could change into more comfortable clothes. He pulled on pajama pants and a comfortable shirt. He then came back out of the room. “You don’t have to make me hot chocolate. Just go to bed. Goodnight Leslie.” He figured he would find something on the tv to watch. He moved to sit on the couch then. He hoped Adalwine joined him soon.

  • Leslie was a bit confused at the sudden change in attitude but he wasn't just going to leave Alexander like this. Instead, he did go to the kitchen while Alexander sat on the couch and quickly made the other some hot chocolate. He grabbed some spare fluffy blankets from the closet and went back to the kitchen to grab the hot chocolate before heading to the living room to toss the blanket over Alexander. Even if Alexander had told him to just go to bed, he wasn't going to listen. "Here. If you want me to, I'll head to bed. But you deserve some comfort, alright? And, seriously, I know it's late and we're both tired. You've had an especially rough day, but, listen. You have the right to compliment me, as so does everyone to anyone as long as it's a comfortable compliment. Glenn doesn't own me, nor is he the only one allowed to say kind things to me. Friends compliment each other all the time, it isn't odd. So, don't worry about it." He held out the hot chocolate to Alexander as he spoke.

  • It was clear that, with everything that had happened in the bar, Alexander wasn’t thinking clearly. That always happened whenever he saw his ex. It brought terrible memories back into his mind and he just froze. It wasn’t something that he could actually control. The other male had just don’t that much damage to him over the time they had been together. He jumped some as the blanket was brought over and tossed over him. He jumped a little as he felt it. He slowly shifted to get more comfortable underneath it though. He lifted his gaze to look up at Leslie. “It will just be best for you to go to bed. Anyways, you don’t know me that well. I am still a stranger to you. Once you get to know me more, you won’t want to be my friend. Thank you for the hot chocolate. Goodnight.” He reached out to carefully take it from Leslie. His voice seemed to be drained of all life.

  • "I'll never get to know you well if I'm unable to spend a decent amount of time with you." Leslie pointed out, looking at Alexander with his head slightly tilted. "I'm not trying to pressure you into anything, but, I'm worried." His voice softened a lot then. "I shouldn't have taken you to the bar tonight, I should have called off. That was a dumb idea of mine. I'll leave you alone, if that's what you really want, but please promise me you'll still be here. Adalwine's coming over, so, I hope he helps."

  • “You shouldn’t want to get to know me Leslie. I’m a complete mess.” Alexander spoke simply. He took a gentle breath then and sipped on the hot chocolate. He then placed it down on the table. “There wasn’t a way for you to know that my ex was going to be there. Don’t blame yourself on it. And I promise I will still be here in the morning. I don’t have anywhere else to go and it is getting colder anyways. It’s almost Christmas too. I don’t want to be out on the streets. Goodnight Leslie.” He confessed, repeating the last line once more.

  • Leslie felt a little more than just a bit defeated. He knew that Alexander had been through a lot but compared to before it really did feel like he was being pushed away. Watching as Adalwine jumped up on the couch beside Alexander he began to make his way back to his bedroom and then closed the door behind him. He made his way over to the bed before collapsing into it, relieved when he felt a pair of arms wrap around him. Letting himself hide his face into Glenn's neck he let out a few shaky breaths and closed his eyes. He just wanted to help Alexander but he didn't know how, and he was struggling. Leslie relaxed a bit more at the feeling of Glenn's fingers in his hair and he drifted off soon after that.

  • Alexander began to pet Adalwine carefully then. He drank all of the hot chocolate that had been made for him. He ended up falling asleep on the couch that evening, the tv still on. He had been watching a Disney movie. His dreams hadn’t been the best, but he had pushed through it. He didn’t look the best as he woke up the next morning. A soft groan escaped his lips as he opened up his eyes. He had a feeling the other two males would be up already. They seemed to be early risers. He was sure Leslie had told Glenn about everything that happened at the bar the night before. He always go so embarrassed about all of this. He hated not being strong enough. He also hated having to push Leslie away, but he knew it was for the best. He slowly got up to move to the kitchen.

  • Leslie hadn't mentioned anything to Glenn, yet. They'd both gotten up early and Leslie went to shower while Glenn went to the kitchen to start making breakfast. So when Alexander walked into the kitchen, only Glenn was there. Glenn turned his head to look at Alexander, his gaze not giving anything away. He was aware that Leslie had been upset last night, but he hadn't known why. He'd ask later, maybe once night came around once more. "Are you hungry?" Glenn asked Alexander, his voice calm.

  • Alexander carefully put the mug that held the hot chocolate the night before into the sink. He filled it with some water. He didn’t know if Leslie had told Glenn about everything yet. He wasn’t going to assume it had happened though. He turned to face him when he heard him talk. “No, thanks though. I’m going to go for a walk, if that is okay. Don’t worry. I’m not running away or anything.” He assured. He moved to make his way out of the kitchen and to his room when he finished speaking. He changed into clothes that were more appropriate to go outside in. He then slid a jacket on and went outside. He wandered down the street, taking deep breaths. He tried to keep himself calm.

  • Glenn watched him go before letting out a sigh. He was sure that his partner's upset mood had been due to this newcomer but he didn't comment. It wasn't right to blame Alexander, he knew that. Truthfully he understood that Leslie was the one to have pushed this situation and he'd have to deal with it. He just could only hope that Alexander was a good person and that he wouldn't hurt Leslie. His head turned as he noticed his boyfriend come into the kitchen, dark brown hair dripping water and wearing a large black t-shirt. "Good morning. Alexander went out for a walk. I'm sure he'll be back." He walked over to Leslie then, hoping he wouldn't freak out with Alexander being gone.
