  • The End of Our Story

    they said - alternate story

    character(s)

    Leslie Dagwood

    age; twenty-five

appearance; leslie stands at 5'7" with dark, chestnut brown hair. his eyes are a brilliant amber and in the sunlight almost appear a crisp autumn orange or an endless sea of gold. skin happens to be an almost soft caramel no matter the time of year, but he looks plenty healthier in the summer. there are some scratches on his knuckles and other places but they seem to blend in and are, for the most part, completely unnoticeable. upon a closer look there are very faint and small, stardust sorts of freckles underneath his eyes as well as his shoulders.

personality; a bit . . . difficult. leslie isn't very open with his emotions, to himself or others. it's very hard for him to speak up about them especially to someone new, and it can take him years to open up. he doesn't like to admit he's not feeling well and tends to cling to anything from his past as he's not someone who tends to say things he doesn't mean so he doesn't understand how people say things they don't mean. can get easily caught up on other things, like his obsession with sugar. he's still in very good shape with how he does actually go out and do things and he just seems to not gain weight by some luck. but, he'll try to set these aside when he really needs to. he's got his own way of showing his care for someone.

history; he grew up with his older sister as his parents never really spent much time at home and he hardly talks to him now. he'd get in bad crowds from time to time but never became a mean person, just made mistakes. he met glenn around his late years in middle school, and the boy ended up changing his life.

relationship(s); he does have a boyfriend, who is known as Glenn. both parents, an older sister, and his best friend, Marie. besides that not many more people are in his life.

    Glenn Grey

    age; twenty-seven

appearance; glenn is exactly 6'1" with a thin frame, his height only making him look somehow smaller. he naturally has platinum blond hair but bleaches and dyes it white, somehow managing to keep it in good condition so it still feels all light and soft. his eyes are a soft silver-ocean blue and sometimes can almost appear similar to violet in the lighting but of course they're just naturally that silvery shade of blue. skin is very, very pale with one scar on the side of his neck and on his side from a childhood accident. glenn's hair reaches above his shoulders and his parted on the right.

personality; very philosophical and distant. he's got a very open mind on things with an obsession with space. he loves to share his thoughts and talk about the possibility of certain things. it's rare for him to ever get angry or aggressive and even then that usually doesn't happen, but he doesn't hold back from sharp threats. glenn has a very icy and threatening appearance sometimes that just tags along with his personality. he's very protective of leslie, and seems to put him above everything else.

    history; not available

relationship(s); family (unknown), leslie who is his boyfriend

  • I got really excited so I typed a starting post cx))

Alexander found himself on a cold winter night with a broken heart, something he didn’t expect to happen so close to Christmas. With his small amount of funds, he had scraped together enough to buy his ex-boyfriend a promise ring. But the other then dumped him and said that he had never loved him. So here he found himself, walking into a bar not too far from a bridge. He had his mind set on what all he would do that evening. He would have a few drinks and then take himself out of his misery. He slowly walked to the bar, taking a seat once he got there. He looked terrible actually. All of his clothes were completely worn out. His skin was much paler than normal and he was shaking because of how cold he was. He didn’t seem to care too much. He raised his hand some to get the attention of the bartender. “Just two shots of whiskey please.” He mused out in a very rough voice.

  • It was just another night at the bar for Leslie, although it was a bit less energy draining as his boyfriend was there. He'd been together with Glenn for over five years now - which was simply, a pretty long time. He was just chatting along with him at this point in time as he worked on cleaning a glass. It was not uncommon for Glenn to come along with Leslie, and Leslie didn't mind one bit. Leslie relied on Glenn for about everything as Glenn was, well, everything. They'd never gotten into fights; gotten close, but never fought. Most of those moments were due to Leslie having difficulties with his own emotions and either lying or not expressing something but somehow it seemed Glenn always knew when he was. He would always give into Glenn though, as the other never lost himself to anger, nor did he ever hurt him. Really, it was everything he could ever ask for. So tonight with Glenn around, Leslie didn't think it would be any different.

He looked as he caught the site of someone motioning for him but froze upon seeing the unfamiliar man. To put it simply, the man didn't appear to be in a good state at all. Certainly not in a well enough state to be ordering that sort of alcohol. With a small glance at Glenn he mentioned he'd be right back and went to get the drink together but paused. "I'll give you one. Being honest, you really don't look to good. Do you have anyone to pick you up?" It wouldn't be the first time he had to pay close attention to a person at work.

  • Alexander honestly would kill to have a relationship like Leslie did with Glenn, if he knew of it. All he ever wanted was to be loved and assured that he was important. That never seemed to happen though. He had just adjusted to it over time. He lifted his gaze as he noticed the bartender coming over to him. A light sigh escaped his lips as he found out he was being denied one of his shots. “I have the money for two shots. I want two shots.” He spoke simply. He was trying to make his voice sound better than it did, though it wasn’t looking. He didn’t think he looked too terrible. After all, he had been in worse situations before. “Thanks for the compliment.” He spoke with sarcasm lacing through his tone. He took some light breaths before speaking again.

“It’s unimportant for you to know if I do or if I don’t. Just give me the shots, I’ll pay you, then I will be out of your hair for good. You don’t know me and I don’t know you. It’s probably going to stay that way so.” He commented. It was clear that he just wanted to get his alcohol and leave. He didn’t really like strangers trying to get involved in his life. He shuffled in his pocket for a few moments before pulling out enough quarters to cover to bill for the alcohol. He placed it on the counter.

  • Leslie couldn't help but raise an eyebrow. He found the man's words only unsettled him more as the tone of them seemed to carry some heavier meaning. With a quiet sigh he set down the first shot in front of him. "Look, I'm aware it isn't any of my business, but when I see a man come into the bar I work at who appears to be freezing to death without any suitable clothing for the weather we're experiencing, it worries me a little." He was a bit direct with his words, a change from how he used to be. It was really because of Glenn, though, that he'd gotten more confidence to voice his thoughts more and be persistent. Leslie was quite aware of his boyfriend staring at him at that moment and he glanced quickly to the other, giving a small nod just to say he was okay. After all, it wasn't too often he seemed to be hesitant giving a drink to someone and this man did stand out, and not in the best way. "What are you even planning to do after these drinks anyways?"

  • Alexander was actually glaring at Leslie then, showing how much he wanted his drinks. He knew his clothes looked terrible and he looked terrible overall. He just couldn’t help it. It wasn’t like he was going to be on this planet much longer anyways. He could go without his final drinks. “Look we are stangers. There is no reason for you to care about me. And I don’t want the drinks anymore. Here, have a tip for not doing your job.” He grumbled out. He left the change on the counter before standing up. He straightened his torn jacket before walking out. He shoved his hands deep into his pockets as he walked. He had just wanted a pleasant last night on earth. Well, he couldn’t get his drinks for it but at least he could just finish everything then. He had been through so much crap that he couldn’t deal with it anymore. He began to walk towards the bridge then, shivering quite a bit as he did.

  • Leslie couldn't help but be shocked at the words he received in return, and could only stare after the man as they left. Slowly he set the drink down and moved to go talk to Glenn who seemed to be looking at him curiously. He couldn't shake off the heavy feeling he felt after that short exchange and after a good amount of persuading he finally got Glenn to answer him sternly with, "Only if we see him on our way back. We don't know him, and I'm not looking forward to waking up with either of us dead the next morning." The words didn't bother Leslie as he just knew that Glenn was very careful and not as open for caring about others. Excusing himself from work with a quick excuse he left to get in the car, about to take the driver's side before Glenn snapped at him to get in the passenger's side instead which he reluctantly agreed to doing. He seemed quite set on looking around in the dark as they drove, searching for any glimpse of the stranger. Even though he didn't know the man, if something happened to him, Leslie would never forgive himself.

  • Alexander had made it pretty far by that point. He was almost to the bridge, though he was growing colder and colder. He wouldn’t be surprised if he died of frostbite before he could jump off of the bridge. He had no clue that Leslie was actually looking for him. He would be a bit weirded out if he knew. The bridge was on the way to the other’s house. By the time that Leslie and Glenn were getting to the bridge, he was standing on the other side of the safety railing. He was gazing down at the black water so far beneath him that you almost couldn’t make it out. The road wasn’t that busy for the time of night. He was taking some deep breaths before telling him that it was time. He moved to lean forward to fall then.

  • Leslie was tapping his fingers nervously against the side of the door, gaze out the window. The ride was silent and with a glance at Glenn he still could tell his boyfriend wasn't the happiest at the moment but he just knew that Glenn was worried. He was so focused on a far distant point that he almost missed the shape entirely as they began to drive onto the bridge, feeling a bit of emptiness as he began to think he'd never find the man. Though, it was Glenn that disrupted his thoughts.

"Hey, isn't that him?" Glenn asked as he suddenly stopped the car, the lights shutting off to leave them in darkness. Truthfully, he wasn't a fan of this but there wasn't a possible way to save Leslie from his stubbornness and then there was the fact that the man appeared to be about to do something neither of them would want to witness.

With a bit of surprise, Leslie looked where Glenn had pointed him out to be. Everything seemed to become cold as he stared at the shape on the opposite side of the railing of the bridge and suddenly he opened the car door and threw himself out of the car, running a lot faster than he ever thought he'd be able to achieve. He didn't know if the man had noticed him but it didn't appear so. Leslie lunged forward, the breath leaving him slightly as the cold metal of the railing dug into his gut as his arms flew to wrap around the man's waist.

  • I’m going to have him fall, but not get injured that badly except for some bruises to add drama :) ))

Alexander had no clue of the car beginning to drive over the bridge, nor who was in it. He had just closed his eyes, waiting for the impact. He didn’t feel the water though. Instead, he held the strong grip of someone’s arms wrapped around his waist. Confusion hit him as he opened up his eyes. He tilted his head back to see who it was. Deep down he had hoped that his ex had come to find and save him. He hoped his ex would apologize for everything. Disappointment filled him when he saw Leslie. “What are you doing? Did you follow me?” He demanded, clearly not happy. “Let go of me! You didn’t let me have my last drinks and now you are stopping this too. Don’t you know when to stop?” He continued to speak. He ripped at Leslie’s arms some. Truthfully he didn’t want to fall anymore. He just wanted to get out of Leslie’s arms. Soon he managed to pull himself free, though it caught him off balance. One foot fell backwards first before the rest of his body followed. His eyes were wide with fear as he did so. He soon hit the water.

If he had thought he was cold before, this only made it worse. He immediately could feel chill to the bone. The water beat the air temperatures with the coldness. It sent him into shock actually. He couldn’t move one bit. He felt like he was sinking to the bottom of the river. The air was escaping his lungs in the most painful way. This was what he wanted. He wanted to go simply. His eyes were squeezed shit then, just waiting for his final heartbeat.

  • Leslie hadn't expected the man to struggle out of his arms, nearly bringing him over the edge as well. Time only seemed to slow as the man fell and the only thing he was left to do was watch until he snapped out of it. His reaction was to grab the railing, immediate instinct to jump down to follow the other but a firm grip on his wrist stopped him and he turned his head to see Glenn standing behind him. "But- he-" His heart was racing, each breath burning with the cold air. What was he supposed to do? His mind couldn't form a correct answer.

"Don't jump in after him, it won't do you any good to possibly die doing so, or get hurt. We'll call emergencies and get people out here. Even if you did get him out, we've got nothing to save him with. You'll just have to wait and hope they find him." Glenn didn't release his grip on Leslie's wrist, and his voice was stern. He was not letting Leslie throw himself over a bridge for a stranger, or for anyone. It wasn't his intention to be harsh but he wouldn't forgive himself if Leslie got hurt, and if Leslie did get hurt, he probably wouldn't let the other leave his side for a good while. As he spoke he'd already grabbed his phone with one hand and seemed to be making a call. He began to drag Leslie away from the edge then, trying to ignore the completely horrified and broken look on his boyfriend's face as he spoke into the phone, seeing who they could get out here without knowing if it would be enough.

  • Alexander wasn’t surfacing anytime soon it seemed. He was beginning to struggle a little under the water as the air fully escaped his lungs. His lungs also began to fill with some water. The person on the phone immediately sent an ambulance to their location. The lights were soon seen in the distance and the sirens began to wail. They parked and quickly sent a crew down to the water. Some dove in to search for Alexander. Another person began to ask Leslie and Glenn some questions. It took a few more minutes before they ended up pulling Alexander up from the water. They had to immediately begin to do CPR on him. A lot of water had filled his lungs by that point and he was close to death. He didn’t look the best.

It took three minutes before he began to cough, water falling from his mouth. He sat up as he continued to cough. He was shaking from the cold and his body ached. “What is your relation to him, if I may ask? Will you be able to take him home once we check him over?” The person then asked the two. He had been writing down some things on his notepad.

  • Leslie had hated waiting, the cold now slicing through his bones and making each breath a struggle. He didn't shove Glenn away though as the taller man wrapped Leslie up in his arms to not only keep him from the cold but also as an apology. After a few minutes he wrapped his arms around Glenn's waist and just rested his head on Glenn's shoulder, closing his eyes. He couldn't get the image of the man falling out of his head and it was terrifying. Even once help arrived, Leslie still pressed close to Glenn as the man spoke to them. The question about their relation to the stranger threw him off guard, but he just answered with the stranger being a cousin to his sister's husband. While it was some bull answer, it seemed to work, and he didn't miss adding on the fact that they could take Alexander home.

He didn't miss the sharp look Glenn gave him at his response but the tightening grip around his waist let Leslie know that Glenn wasn't mad at him. "We'll be placing him in the guest bedroom, then, if we're taking him. I don't want you alone with him, though." Glenn said sternly, though he kept his voice low so only Leslie could hear. He was worried about what the stranger was capable of, especially with the mind set they were in.

  • The person nodded some. “Well it is going to take us a few moments to check him over. He seems to only have bruising, no broken bones or anything of the sort. He is lucky to be alive.” The man commented before he walked away from them. He made his way over to Alexander then. They had wrapped him up in blankets, trying to get heat back to his body. It didn’t seem to be working though. He just kept shivering and shaking heavily. Not long after they helped him up and over to Leslie and Glenn. “We would suggest getting him to a doctor for his depression. He most likely needs anti-depressants.” A different person said before they went to the truck.

Alexander stood there in silence for a little bit. He truly would never hurt Leslie or Glenn. He was just going to stick to himself a lot. “I-I am sorry about that. Y-You don’t have to take me to your house. I-I am sure my ex threw my things out into the road. I-I can live on the streets again.” He stuttered a lot as he spoke. His confidence seemed completely drained then. He looked terrible and it wasn’t hard to see just how much he had been through. His eyes were very dull and he just looked drained. “T-Thanks though.” He mumbled and turned to walk away.

  • Leslie carefully pulled himself out of Glenn's hold despite the small protest he heard. "Hey, please wait. I'm not going to leave you out here alone. Actually, we aren't going to leave you out here alone." He tried to keep his voice steady, shivering a bit from the cold. Of course he was aware Glenn still wasn't the biggest fan of this but he was also aware his boyfriend wouldn't argue with him about it. "So, please come back with us. We have an extra room and don't mind you staying with us at all, at least until you'll be alright on your own. You need somewhere warm to stay."

Glenn knew best not to speak as him complaining wouldn't get anywhere with Leslie. He wasn't cruel enough to leave someone who may try to harm themselves again out on the streets in the bloody, bitter cold. His arms crossed and he finally decided to speak after it seemed that Leslie was finished, knowing only Leslie talking may make himself appear a bit hostile. "He's right. We don't mind you staying with us for a while, or at least spending the night. It's clear leaving you out here would be bad idea."

  • Alexander froze as he listened to them all speak. He slowly turned to face them again. He was freezing at the moment from having plunged into the cold water below the bridge. It almost didn’t seem like the two males in front of him weren’t going to give up. A soft sigh escaped his lips. “Fine. I’ll be gone in the morning though. I don’t need to take up your space or be pitied on. I already have enough problems on my hands as well that you don’t need to be involved in.” He commented. He clearly seemed to just have given up at the moment in time. He began to shuffle towards the car, pulling the blanket that the ambulance staff had given him closer around his own body. He was shaking a lot as he walked. He slowly climbed into the back seat of the car, not even bothering to buckle in. He just shifted to curl up and look out the window. He had just wanted this miserable life of his to be over.

  • Leslie shared a quick glance with Glenn but he said nothing and just walked to the car, relieved when the stranger actually did get in the car. He turned to Glenn and offered to drive but he was quickly brushed off. They usually switched driving all the time, it just usually depended on who was in the mood to do it. Truthfully they were like that about everything. Cooking, cleaning, and then more romantic things like cuddling and how they slept together. Didn't matter that one was the tougher one, or one was the taller one, they just switched with everything and it was a way that let them both get what they needed. Somedays Leslie understood that Glenn was the one who just wanted to be held sometimes, and he'd do that, and the other would do the same for him. They never really had to ask, those sorts of things were just obvious between the two of them. He glanced up at the mirror, frowning slightly upon seeing how the stranger was acting but Leslie was at least relieved to see him alive. Letting him leave in the morning didn't seem like such a good idea so he was going to try and convince Glenn to help with getting him to stay.

  • Alexander would’ve loved for his relationship with his ex to have been like that. Truth was, he had to comply to every need his ex had. If he didn’t, there were bad consequences. He often got hit or screamed at. It was something that he had grown accustomed to. He didn’t know any difference though. He was just going to attempt to do what he failed at doing this evening when he left the house tomorrow morning. There truly was no reason for him to live. He had no family, no friends, no pets, no house, no anything. He didn’t have a penny to his name. He took a light breath. “My name is Alexander, by the way. Alexander Johnson.” He spoke quietly. Just form the tone of his voice it was clear to see he was a broken man. He wouldn’t hurt anybody though. “T-Thanks for t-this all.” He was beginning to stutter more as his thoughts began to get to him. Some tears were forming in his eyes.

  • Leslie turned to glance back over his seat. "You're welcome, Alexander." He said, testing the name. "Can't remember if we've introduced ourselves, but I'm Leslie and this one is Glenn. We'll be home pretty soon. I hope you're not allergic to cats, we've got two. One of them is also very cuddly and, well, pretty big. He's a Maine Coon and pretty much more the size of a dog than a cat." With explaining all of this he hoped that talking would make this man a bit less upset. He hadn't really dealt with this situation before except for the few times Glenn would seem so distant it scared him, but, never like this. "I've also got some clothes you can borrow, and if you want, you can have a warm shower." It wasn't the brightest idea to let someone take a shower after that but he knew if Alexander agreed then he'd just have to keep a constant watch. He had plenty of clothes, some being Glenn's. Since he liked to borrow Glenn's clothes he'd got out sometimes and buy clothes bigger than himself so that Glenn could wear them too. They pretty much had the sharing and switching on lock.
