  • Midnightkit yawned and clambered out of her nest in the nursery. Her tiny legs were a blur as she pattered along the ground quickly to reach the entrance to the nursery. As she reached the gap, she looked up at the sky - night was just beginning to take over, and she could see a few warriors of StarClan winking at her in the distance. She inhaled the scent of the forest and felt a surge of energy course through her veins. She had only just learned to walk in the past 48 hours and she felt like she could run forever. Her tail flicked back and forth and she stuck her haunches out as she imagined stalking prey like the warriors that the queens told her about in her bed time stories.

  • Eeldance padded forward, returning from a late night patrol. It seemed they'd upped their patrols in order to make sure BloodClan wasn't going to invade. He was exhausted, but the little kit wandering around camp caught his attention. He turned himself, swiftly padding over to the newly walking kit. "Shouldn't you be getting ready for sleep?"

  • ・゚ ✦ ° Curiosity Killed The Cat - Jaggeddawn was awake for multiple reasons, one was she preferred night to day as of late. The darkness was where ShadowClanners generally felt most at home, she could hide in the inky blackness with ease, and as others were usually asleep, she would be by herself. Sometimes she went for walks, or went hunting, anything to keep her mind off of darker thoughts. Thoughts that might pull her away from her clan mates. Another reason she wasn't asleep right now? She feared if she slept, the Dark Forest would visit her again. She'd had this fear before, but it was back again because Jaggeddawn knew she was angry. She knew that the Dark Forest would be convincing, if they could reach her. If it wasn't the Dark Forest she dreamed about, it could be her father, and that was just as frightening. Jaggeddawn had had awful nightmares as a kit and an apprentice, one or two as a warrior. If she didn't absolutely tire herself out, she might fall into another hellishly real dream, and the molly didn't want that to happen. Spotting Midnightkit and Elegance, Jaggeddawn would take the opportunity to keep herself awake. "Hey you two. Midnightkit, Eeldance might be right, aren't you tired?"

  • Midnightkit looked up at the two cats when she picked up their scent. She tilted her heard and gazed at them for a moment. "Who are you?" she chirped, interested in the new smells. "I've seen you around camp before!" She scampered up to the older cats and pranced around them. "I'm not tired at all; it's night time and that's when I feel alive! Hey, check this out!" She waggled her tail and stuck her haunches out in an awkward attempt to strike a pose similar to a ShadowClan warrior about to pounce on his enemy. She extended her tiny claws and jumped onto a stray leaf that was lying nearby. She hooked it up with her paw and tossed it in the air, batting it around. "I'm going to be the best warrior in all of ShadowClan! I learned how to do this by watching other kits," she added proudly, hoping to impress the warriors.

  • It was always a common sight to see Rose awake in the wee hours of the night; his insomnia sure did serve him well whenever he was put on nightly guard duty. Which was pretty often, considering how much he volunteered for the job. It was better than just sitting around doing nothing while everyone else was asleep. He began to walk towards the front entrance of camp before a small scene taking place outside of the nursery caught his eye. It seemed to be two warriors surrounding a very energetic kit. Kittens had always piqued Rose's interest, so he decided to see what was going on. "Very cool," he remarked plainly to Midnightkit as he approached. He looked over to the other warriors, about to offer to stay up with the kit until she got tired, but decided to back off. After all, he was from the Tribe. Rose wasn't sure if he would be trusted to take care of a newborn kitten just yet. So, he supposed he'd just have to convince the kitten to go back to bed, for now. "Don't you think that'd be more fun in the daytime, though? It's harder to miss the leaf when you can see it better," Rose asked. He wasn't sure if his question would get the kitten back to bed, but he hoped it would.

  • ・゚ ✦ ° Curiosity Killed The Cat - Night owls were not unheard of, especially in ShadowClan, so Jaggeddawn wasn't too surprised. Watching the kit perform moves she'd obviously practised hard on, the black molly felt the urge to smile. She didn't, but kits sure were cute. "Your determination is strong, and I bet you will be a great warrior one day." Jaggeddawn meowed, and she meant it. Rose appeared, complimenting Midnightkit on her moves as well. Jaggeddawn didn't know him well, he'd just come to ShadowClan from the Tribe, so she wasn't sure how she felt about him.

  • Midnightkit sat straight up, nearly toppling over in surprise. She hadn't noticed Rose approaching and his sudden common had frightened her at first. She sat down and quickly licked her paws in embarassment, trying to act dignified. However, Jaggeddawn's words of praise made her feel better about it. A warrior of ShadowClan didn't show fear. "No, I can see fine," she said indignantly, squinting her eyes. The truth was, her night vision was not quite fully developed yet as she was just a kit. She was told by the queens and elders that no matter how much she enjoyed being outside in the night, it was dangerous to not be with an older cat because she could not see clearly yet. She sighed and let her tail droop. Rose was right; besides, she could show off to all the other warriors when the camp was more busy in the morning. "Does that mean I have to go to sleep now?" she asked, glancing between Jaggeddawn and Rose..

  • Rose pondered the question that Midnightkit had presented for a little bit. It wasn't exactly necessary for her to go to sleep, but, being as young as she was, it was probably for the best. Maybe he was being a bit of a hypocrite, but sleep was quite important especially for younger cats. "I guess so," he shrugged in response, eyes turned up towards the sky. "You'll have more energy in the daytime anyways,". Now, Rose wasn't exactly sure if that was true or not, but he sure hoped it was.

  • ・゚ ✦ ° Curiosity Killed The Cat - Jaggeddawn was sympathetic with the kit's wishes, but it was better for her to sleep right now. "Well, if the queens are okay with you staying up, perhaps you can for a few more minutes. " The black molly meowed. She didn't want to spoil Midnightkit's fun, a few more minutes couldn't hurt, right?

//quick post, I love Midnight already, she's so sweet <3

  • ((I love her too <3 I'm working on reworking her character a bit from what she originally was before the boards were redone. Kits are refreshing to play))

Midnightkit jumped up in excitement. "I can really stay up? I'm sure they will let me if they see how good of a warrior I will become!" She bounced in circles around the cats, waving her fluffy taiil. "I promise to go to bed afterwards," she added, secretly hoping to appeal to the older cats in. A good warrior had to be negotiable right?? She didn't actually want to sleep, but what if they told on her to the queens? Or even worse - the leader? Ratstar would never let her be a warrior if she heard that a little kit wasn't obeying the senior warriors. She paused for a moment when the realisation dawned on her. Maybe she should go to bed...She fluffed her fur out indignantly. If she wanted to be a warrior, she had to prove to the older cats she had the motivation to - but without seeming stubborn, of course.
