  • Dunekit

Dunekit was wandering around outside of camp, walking past reedbeds and the small intertwining streams that curled and flowed through the marshy grasslands.

The air was humid, and clung to his long fawn fur, though he hardly felt it, while sitting alone, staring at ant ant trail he had stopped at.

The ants. They were so small. Insignificant. Tiny beings in a big world.

Dunekit often felt like an ant. An emotionless being, who only had one purpose. To live and serve. Though he was just a kitten. So really, he wasn’t to serve yet. But he did still feel like he would only have one purpose in life.

Putting his paw down, the boy blocked the ant’s path. Though instead of just stopping, they turned around, taking another route to the ant hill.

They walked around the obstacle, like it was nothing.

If only life were so easy.

Before he could put another paw down to continue, Dunekit sniffed the air, smelling some weird scent and hearing some shuffling behind him.

But he didn’t turn around to acknowledge whoever was present. He just called back a lazy “sup”.
