  • WHAT!? But yellow is my favorite color!

She quickly typed up and sent the next message.

    Jk

That might have been a little mean, but she honestly couldn't resist. The joke was set up and waiting; she couldn't have just left it there, even if it may not have been that good of a joke.

But going with a dinosaur theme sounds like a good idea, I like it! A simple one is fine too. We'll just avoid the yellow ones.

It still made her happy that he liked the whole C-rex thing and didn't think it was something dumb. She then felt a grumble in her stomach, reminding her that she still hadn't eaten yet. It seemed like the snail metabolism was finally starting to catch up with her. Grrr.

Ah, I probably should eat some dinner soon cause my stomach's yelling at me. What would be a good time for us to meet up again, though? I know we talked about the video game club, but I'm not sure how far out the first meeting will be. Would you like to hang out sometime before then?

She stared at her phone's screen in anticipation, feeling as if her heart was also waiting with bated breath.

  • (So sorry! This past semester hit me pretty hard. I disappeared pretty pretty much everywhere for rping, but I should be back more consistently now! Hope you had a good holiday season!)

We'll just get a yellow one for you then

He laughed at how quickly the jk came from her. Was she worried that he would take it the wrong way? Not that he would've anyways given his laid back nature, but even her words didn't strike him as anything that would be meant to hurt him, or anyone for that matter. Caroline seemed too lighthearted for all that. But, then again, that's probably why he had never noticed her before now. She melted into the background, but why? She so easily caught his attention when they met, so why hadn't that happened before? Was he the exception? Did she want to be unnoticed?

His eyes glanced across his screen as her final series of texts came through. Andy's fingers quickly glided across the keyboard, subconsciously thankful for autocorrect.

Yeah! No worries. Food is always a priority, but I may be biased on that front. haha anyways sure. I know classes start tomorrow, but I'm pretty much free most evenings. I don't think the first meeting is until next week. But since I'm pretty much free, whenever works best for you. Just lmk.

    Send.

  • (No worries! Classes can hit pretty hard sometimes, so I understand. And thank you; I hope you had a good holiday season too!)

Lol I think I'll skip out on getting the yellow one

Her eyes read over his last text with a feeling of relief. So they could meet up again soon then, hopefully; would it be too soon to say tomorrow? Classes started back up then, but most classes usually start off by mostly reviewing the syllabuses... and sometimes doing some kind of icebreaker. Man, how she hated icebreakers... where they really necessary? She glanced over his text again. It seemed like he was implying that tomorrow would still be fine? Maybe?

Haha, maybe just a tiny bit bias, like just a little; you're not wrong tho. And I see, would you like to hang out tomorrow then? Or would later in the week be better?

    Send.

  • Was she just as eager to hang out again as he was? Well, it certainly seemed that way since she suggested meeting up tomorrow. It's not like it was a bad idea -- classes would have just started so there wouldn't be any labor intensive assignments for a little ways down the road. And, if Andy was being completely honest, he wanted to meet up with her again. So, perhaps he was also glad it seemed she was feeling the same way. Besides, if there was any work tomorrow, he'd happily throw it to the wayside in order to see Caroline again. Though, perhaps that was just his work ethics in play; while he cared for his academics and did well, Andy never found it practical to stress so much about them. There were bigger things in the world to be worrying about than a perfect grade and worrying about how people saw you on the first day of class.

Pity. But sure tomorrow works. Meet at the Campus Center? We can decide from there what to do

    Send.

    Does 5 work for you?

His thumb pressed send almost as soon as he had sent the previous message, his hands working in excited eagerness. It was about time that he looked forward to something so much.

  • Caroline hadn't quite finished reading his first message when the next one popped up. Once she caught up, she quickly typed up a reply.

    Yes, that would be perfect!

    Send.

A spike of anxiety hit her as her mind caught up with her actions. She put her phone down on the desk, grabbing a little notebook and flipping it open. Her shoulders relaxed. Phew, she was right, there wasn't anything going on at 5 for her. It would've been embarrassing to have to backpedal because she got her schedule wrong. She put the notebook back down and picked up her phone, her gaze locking onto its screen, looking to see if Andy sent another message yet.

She was practically shaking with excitement; it was a miracle she was still able to remain in her seat, and not jump out of it yet.
