I'm ok now. But I got fucked over by my main rp partner.
I found some new people who seem nice so I hope things will get better. I was considering leaving
( that doesn't sound great, but I'm glad you're staying!! Again, sorry for the lateness of this. )
Theodore was hesitant to order the princess around, but since she asked, he may as well let her help out. He would do most of the work, of course, clearing a space for a fire and pitching tents. "Uh, you can, if you want. We're going to need some kindling for the fire, small twigs fallen from the trees. A couple of handfuls will do, and there should be plenty by the treeline." he suggested, pointing towards the treeline of a forest they had travelled through, which wasn't too far away. A minute's walk across the field or so. If anything happened, he would be able to hear. Having given his suggestion, he began to pitch the two tents and clear a space in the middle of the campsite for the fire.
Annabella began to walk to the treeline. She wouldn't dare to go deeper into the woods. She didn't like dark spooky forests. Let alone know if the creatures within. She picked up two handfuls and put it in her pouch before taking two More handfuls. She heard a few noises but ignored it and returned to the camp "this is fine work"She complimented An she set the sticks in the middle and sat down by the tent Shen assumed was her s. She was already shivering in This cold.
Theodore was almost done with the tents as the princess returned, they were just simple cloth structures, enough to shelter from the rain and keep excessive wind off them while they slept. The sounds he had heard from the forest's edge hadn't been threatening, judging by the gait of the creatures, curious deer at most, so no need to worry. They weren't going through particularly monster-heavy terrain just yet. It was in the mountains that they needed to start worrying, as there were griffons and ulfhednar up there, surely a dangerous night if they got stuck out there which was why the frequent mining towns were so important for any travellers taking the mountain route.
Moving on to building the fire as the light began to fade, the cold didn't really bother him. He was trained to be used to the colder climates of the northernmost terrains, and he forgot that others hadn't been exposed to the same training as he had. When the fire had been built, all it took was a whisper and a wave of his hand to light it. Though nothing like the great feats that could be accomplished by talented sorcerers, hunters were taught to use basic magic that manifested as a result of the mutations. Soon enough the only sounds that could really be heard was the crackling of the fire and the rustle of wind in the trees. Taking a seat across from the princess, he spoke up. "Are you hungry? We have some basic rations to last us until we get to the village in the mountains where we can buy things." he asked.
Annabella had gotten her fur coat and laid it over her dress to try and fight the cold. All the gut sucking in layers didn't help in such weather. She almost lost her focus and kept staring into the fire a moment before hearing his voice "I would like something to eat and some water thank you."She simply said since she wanted to be polite. A princess was always supposed to be polite. But sometimes she could forget. And if he was to be her bodyguard till she be wed then she wanted to get on with him in a nice civil manner. "I didn't expect it to be this cold, perhaps I was naive and stupid to expect anything else."
Bumpsie
( Apologies for this taking so long! I'm kinda busy this weekend (I gotta take care of the dogs on my own so that takes up a lot of time when you have four dogs), sorry for not saying earlier. I've been replying to things in order of my muse for them/how fast I can write up a reply. Theo isn't a very familiar character for me yet, so it takes a bit to write his replies. )
With a nod to show that he had heard her request, he made his way over to where they had tied up the horses a little ways from the camp. Picking his way through the saddlebags, it looked like they would be having plain meals until they got to a tavern, as he found some regular rations of bread, cheese, and some salted meat. Clearly whoever packed it had longevity of the food in mind in case they took a longer journey than what he had suggested. Before making his way back over, he retrieved a fur coat of his own.
Handing the food to the princess, he also held out the fur coat. "This one will serve you better. It may be a bit big, but it was made in Klinneck, so it was made for far colder temperatures than these." He said.
