    wang kai

seeing miyeon in his dorm was a weird sight. well, not weird, just different. girls never really came over, there was never really a reason for them to come over; there were plenty of other, much better places to hang out with friends, and kai would’ve taken miyeon to one of those places if it wasn’t so late at night. but considering what time it was, they were stuck settling for the dorm, and it was a whole new feeling that came with seeing miyeon in the dorm. and when she sat down, the feeling only increased. he felt almost like all of this wasn’t real, like it was just a dream; after all, up until tonight, his dreams were the only time he ever talked to miyeon.

hearing her voice snapped kai out of his thoughts though, and he sincerely hoped that she didn’t catch him staring at her for a few seconds while he got lost in thought. or, if she did, he hoped that she wouldn’t mention it. when he realized that she was asking about his major, his face lit up with excitement. kai didn’t know about anyone else, but he got genuine happiness out of talking about what he had spent the past four years studying and what he hoped his future would consist of. people didn’t ask about that kind of stuff often though, so when the topic did come up, kai was more than eager to talk. well, more eager to talk than usual, with was really eager.

“i’m going to be a teacher.” kai really liked phrasing it that way rather than saying ‘my major is this’ or something like that, he was so close to graduation and saying that he was actually going to be a teacher made it seem more real, more exciting. “not like a high school teacher or anything, a kindergarten teacher. little kids are just so cute and there’s so much more stuff to learn than math and history and stuff like that, kids that age need to learn stuff like how to read and write and how to be polite, stuff that will actually stick with them forever.” he shrugged, nervously glancing around for a moment. was this boring for miyeon? “i just really liked the idea of teaching people that kind of stuff, plus i really like kids, so i decided to be a teacher.”

kai shifted around a bit, hoping that he didn’t lose miyeon’s interest. that would just be horrible. looking at miyeon though, it didn’t seem like he lost her interest though, which was a huge relief. “hey, miyeon, can i admit something? you just... promise that you won’t think any differently of me?” it felt weird, not admitting his feelings or at least saying something about liking her. he felt like he was making it beyond obvious, and now all he wanted to do was admit how he felt. he was just afraid that she wasn’t going to return his feelings and not want to hang out with him anymore. even if she didn’t like him like that, he at least wanted to be her friend. but even as a friend, he felt like he wasn’t lying to her if he was keeping his feelings a secret. “it’s nothing bad though, i realize that made it sound like i was about to admit i’m a murderer or something.” he let out a dry laugh, tilting his head as he looked at her. “but, can you promise?”

    kwon soojin

soojin just stared at heejun for a moment as he told her that his roommates name was kai. as much as she thought it was impossible for something like this to happen, she was sure it was happening. somehow, she had met the roommate of the guy that her roommate had a cute little crush on. “heejun.” she spoke softly, trying to give him a moment to realize what she had realized. but a second later, she just couldn’t hold her thoughts in anymore. it was just too exciting of an occurrence to keep quiet about. “our roommates like eachother. my miyeon likes your kai, your kai likes my miyeon.”

she leaned a bit closer to him, her smile growing as she kept realizing what all of this meant. kai and miyeon had been talking at the party and it seemed like it was going well. maybe something would come out of that. hopefully something did come out of that. kai was exactly the kind of guy that miyeon deserved and it sounded like miyeon was the kind of girl that kai deserved. and the idea of them actually getting together after finally chatting at the party was super exciting.

“our roommates are totally going to be dating.” soojin nodded, as if she was completely sure that’s what was going to come out of this. it was more of a wish, but she really did see something coming out of them talking and looking so happy together and having cute crushes on one another. “isn’t that exciting? they’ll finally be with the person they’ve had crushes on forever, and they’ll be a really cute couple, don’t you think? i mean, miyeon is super pretty, kai is attractive too there’s no denying that, they’re going to be the it couple on campus, this is so exciting.”

soojin was never really one to care about other people’s relationships, as long as people were happy and experiencing a healthy relationship, she never really paid much attention to it or had an opinion on it. but this wasn’t just any person potentially in a relationship, this was her best friend potentially dating the boy that she had been blushing cutely over just the mention of his name. it was so exciting to think that miyeon was finally going to get what she deserved.

“that means we’ll probably see eachother a lot more after tonight, if they do end up together.” soojin hummed softly, taking a moment to realize that it wasn’t just the idea of miyeon finally talking to kai that had her excited. she was also happy about the idea of getting to see heejun more often, spend more time with him. she had already enjoyed every second she had spent with him so far, minus getting his drink spilled on her, so the idea of getting to spend more time with him just sounded really nice. “that’s exciting, right?” she spoke more softly now, leaning back and nervously playing with her fingers, hoping that heejun had the same happiness over the idea of seeing eachother again that she had.

    park miyeon

( i just imagined kai the jolly giant with a little pack of tiny kindergarten children and omg the uwu jumped out i freaking love him )

seeing kai instantly become excited when she asked about his future plans, miyeon was instantly intrigued. when he actually told her his plans, miyeon smiled. a teacher? a kindergarten teacher? that's incredible. widening her eyes in interest, miyeon looked like a kid in a candy store. also hearing him talk about how much he wants to teach kids basic things, as well as academics, miyeon's heart felt full. it already sounded like he has a love for teaching and kids, that's definitely where he needs to be. "really? that sounds amazing. you'll definitely make an incredible teacher." she complimented. wow, he really just had to be perfect, didn't he? tall, attractive, amazing personality, and he likes kids and wants to be a teacher? if miyeon didn't have a little crush on kai before, she would now.

to miyeon, it was crazy how they were together in kai's dorm, sitting on the same couch, having a little chat. this was the last place miyeon saw herself being tonight, but she's glad she's here. even if they were still in the middle of that crowded party, miyeon would still be happy to be with kai. although, she is glad kai offered to take her here, since her head was quickly beginning to hurt, thanks to the loud music and overbearing conversation. even when she didn't say anything, it's like kai knew exactly what to do to help her. add that to the long list of everything else kai does perfectly.

although, when he began to change the subject, miyeon's smile faded to a concerned look. by his phrasing, miyeon was almost waiting for him to expose some huge secret or ask her for help with any mental issue, since she is going to be a psychiatrist after all. the way he spoke was almost haunting, but that did't stop miyeon in any way. "of course i won't, what's up? is everything okay?" he asked, instantly feeling like she needed to ask him that. if anything, she really didn't want him to be struggling in any way mentally, especially since she knows what that's like. it's terrible and if kai was going through anything like that, she'd help in a heartbeat. miyeon giggled when kai laughed, although it was more of a space-filling gap for the two. when kai made miyeon promise to not think of her different, she gave him a reassuring smile and nodded. "of course i promise, you can tell me everything." she responded.

    lim heejun

when soojin finished explaining that their roommates were head over heels for each other, heejun smiled. not only did his plan from earlier work, but he now knows miyeon most likely feels the same, which will only lead to good places. this also meant that heejun and soojin would be seeing each other a lot more than normal, although they've never really seen each other at all until tonight. matters aside, heejun was really excited for kai, but he was also anticipating the thought of seeing soojin as much as possible, now that their roommates were most likely dating.

"that's crazy, but it's about time, wow. it only took them the whole year to figure it out." he laughed, recalling how lost for words kai would get as soon as heejun mentioned actually talking to miyeon. heejun could tell he wanted to, but there was that fear of rejection that lingered, and heejun really wanted to help kai get past that. tonight, it seems like he has gotten past it and he really doesn't need to worry about any rejection any time soon.

once he thought about it, he realized soojin was right. they would become that couple on campus. they're both pretty well known, and they're both good looking, people will surely be talking about them. but that kind of stuff didn't matter for heejun. as long as kai was with someone who really cares about him and he also cares a lot for, heejun is happy. kai deserves a good partner, and he's glad miyeon wasn't some stuck up or snobby girl. with as much as kai likes her, it'd surely break his heart to find out she was anything like that.

at the mention of hanging out more with soojin, heejun smiled a lot brighter. he really enjoyed being with soojin, she was very interesting, and if heejun was going to be seeing her more, he should probably get to know her? "that really is exciting, i'm really happy for them." he said happily, shifting in his seat a little. after a moment of silence, heejun ran a hand through his hair, ruffling it in the process. "so, since we're here, i'm not sure about you, but if we're going to be seeing each other a lot more often, i really don't want to know you as the girl i spilled my drink on," he said to soojin. wow, this made it seem like he was asking her out or something. "how about we get to know each other a little bit? plus, i don't want you to feel like you just invited a complete stranger who you know nothing about in your house."

    wang kai

(( uwu that’s the cutest thing that i’ve ever imagined

except i fear one day he’s going to accidentally crush a tiny kid ))

kai shyly smiled in response to miyeon saying that he would be an incredible teacher. he really wanted to verbally thank her, but he suddenly just became shy at the compliment. it wasn’t often that he heard things like that, and coming from someone that had just barely heard about how passionate he was about this and really didn’t know him, well, it meant a lot.

his shyness quickly changed into pure nervousness though as soon as he realized that she was actually agreeing to listen to him without judgement. he wasn’t afraid that she was actually going to judge him or anything, like he said he wasn’t admitting anything bad, he was just going to admit he had a crush on her, but that’s why he was nervous; he feared rejection. he feared a lot more than rejection too, at least if he was rejected he could probably easily move on and they could laugh about it together in the future. he feared that she would just abandon any chance that they could at least be friends. he feared that she would just laugh in his face when he admitted that he liked someone as amazing as her, he highly doubted that she was the type of person to do something like that, but then again, he didn’t really know her.

he glanced around the room and thought about telling her something completely different than planned; after all, it wasn’t like anyone was forcing him to tell her how he felt right at this moment. but he felt like if he made something up on the spot in place of what he originally intended on telling her, that she would easily be able to tell and push him into just telling her what he had wanted to say the whole time. well, it was now or never. the worst thing that could happen is that she turns out to be a huge jerk and just laughs in his face as she rejects him, he and heejun could probably laugh it out after he gets done crying about it too, so maybe that wasn’t all too bad either. and the best that could happen is that she feels the same way, that sounded so impossible that she liked him back, but like he said, that was the best that could happen, he never said it was possible.

“okay so,” kai took a deep breath and then looked back at her, instantly smiling as soon as his eyes met hers. he so desperately hoped that even if she didn’t feel the same way and never saw herself feeling the same way that she would at least stay in his life as a friend. he didn’t want to say goodbye to her forever all because of some crush. “this is probably like, really out of nowhere and probably not the best time to admit this, but i’m not any good with timing and i feel really bad just sitting here and not telling you, it feels almost like i’m keeping a secret from you.” he took one more deep breath, then just decided to let it all out.

“i like you, as in i have a crush on you, i’ve had a crush on you since the first time i saw you in math class. and you don’t have to say anything, if you don’t like me or something like that, we can just ignore that this happened and move on with our conversation. or you can leave, i can have my roommate come back and walk you home though so i know you get home safely at least.” kai rubbed his suddenly sweaty hands on the fabric of his jeans in attempt to dry them and seem less nervous. “so, which is it, you want to pretend this never happened or do you just not want to see me again?”

he knew he was leaving out the chance of her liking him back, but it just seemed too impossible to him. how often did the person that someone liked like them back? and what were the chances of someone like miyeon liking someone like him?

    kwon soojin

soojin scrunched up her nose as heejun said he didn’t want to know her just as the girl that he spilled his drink on. she was sure that no matter how much they talked and how well they ended up getting to know eachother, in a way, she would always be known as the girl that he spilled his drink on. not that it was necessarily bad, maybe over time the memory would become less embarrassing for the both of them and actually more humorous.

still, they actually had to talk and get to know eachother if they didn’t want everytime they saw eachother because of their friends to be awkward. so, she nodded in agreement, trying to think of something she could talk about or ask so she could get to know more about heejun. there were a few things she wanted to know about him, but she didn’t want her questions or conversation topics to come off as boring, she didn’t want to come off as boring.

“okay, well i’m going to ask you a few questions then so you’re not a total stranger anymore.” she gently nudged him, and then sat back, humming in thought. what were the things she wanted to know most that she could ask right now? “three questions for now, sound good? what’s your major? where are you from? and hmm,” she trailed off, wanting something that wasn’t too boring of a question. “how about you just tell me something you think i should know, does that sound okay?”

    park miyeon

    (oh god proTECT THE KIDS)

miyeon looked at him, concern in her eyes. he looked really nervous, was everything okay? was he going to tell her some life-changing piece of information that would probably change everything she knew about him (yes)? did he kill someone? she couldn't quite pinpoint or predict what he was about to tell her, so she could only sit and wait. she crossed one leg under the other and shirted herself so she was completely facing kai, giving him her full attention. this wasn't the kai she always saw in class, nor was it the kai she saw maybe an hour ago. she could tell his palms were sweating and it was starting to worry her. when he mentioned keeping a secret from her, miyeon stayed silent. what secret? has he been cheating off of her tests ad homework? has he been using her to pass the class? it was probably a bad thing to always suspect the worst, but it was just an impulse miyeon couldn't get rid of.

once he admitted he had a crush on her, miyeon wanted to cry. the boy she's had her eye on for nearly the entire year just took her to his dorm and admitted he liked her. but the bad part is, it sounded like kai was only expecting rejection. what part of him ever told him she'd reject him? she'll have to fight that little brain cell that gave him those thoughts. blushing, miyeon looked down, trying to compose herself.

"how about, neither?" miyeon proposed, giving him a soft look. he really was expcting the worst, wasn't he? swallowing her pride, miyeon decided to continue in case kai was confused. "the thing is, i'm really not the best at this kind of stuff either, so i'm probably going to really mess this up." she laughed at herself, brushing past the awkwardness she was creating.

"what i mean to say is, kai, " she trailed off, trying to find the right way to say how she was feeling. he did it so easily when he was nervous, why can't she do it too? should she just rip the band-aid off and try to not sugar coat it? "i, like you too. and you'll probably think i'm saying that to save you from embarrassment, but that's not it. i've liked you, really for... nobody knows how long, or at least i can't remember. it's been a long time. i feel stupid for not trying to tell you earlier, but, yeah... that's really it."

    tumblr_p4vfjfwRzi1wr2cwio2_400.giftumblr_p4vfjfwRzi1wr2cwio1_400.gif

    lim heejun

it was good that heejun was able to switch the conversation so quickly. while he loves kai and supports his romantic endeavors, he didn't want them to be the center of attention for these this conversation. it was odd talking about each other's roommates, they aren't even in the room. it was better to talk about each other, especially since heejun felt so weirdly captivated by soojin. he almost felt like he was in a trance, he just needed to get to know her better.

there also came the point that they really would be seeing each other more often, if all goes well with kai and miyeon. it would be a shame if things didn't go right, because how much of a backstab would it be to be interested in the roommate of your best friend's now-rejected love interest? even the sound of it sounded like it hurt, so if heejun really wanted to see soojin more, things would have to be alright with kai and miyeon.

heejun tapped his chin, thinking about what to answer for soojin's three questions. they were pretty easy questions, but it was like heejun wanted to stall as long as he could. "well, i'm studying audio and video technology, which kind of sounds boring but it's not as bad as you think. i'm from pyeongchang, and hmm," he stopped, thinking about a "fun fact" about himself. "something you should know? well let's see." he stalled, still thinking. "aside from being a video game enthusiast, i really am a big enthusiast for hugs." he admitted. heejun typically has the "bad boy" look about him, mainly due to his resting face, which many say to be intimidating. but that really isn't true, he's a total softie and really adores hugs. cuddles, hugs, really anything that involves contact of that sort, he loves it. how can someone not love the warm feeling of a good hug? "so, what about you? what are you studying, where are you from, and what's something i should know about you?"

  • tumblr_inline_p5chpya0hx1u28zvt_100.gif tumblr_inline_p5chpyoz3J1u28zvt_100.gif

    wang kai

kai felt as though his heartbeat was the loudest sound in the room, with the way it was hammering rapidly against his chest, he really wouldn’t be surprised if it was. he just stared nervously at miyeon, just waiting for rejection. it was probably a bad mindset to have, to expect something so negative, but he couldn’t really help it. the way he saw it, miyeon deserved way better than he could ever give her, and he wouldn’t be surprised if she saw things that way too and just kindly rejected him.

so when he heard and finally understood what she was saying, he just blinked, confused with her answer. she liked him too? he sat up a little straighter and continued to just stare at her, trying to process what she was saying. they had a mutual crush on eachother? yeah. they had a mutual crush on eachother.

he felt himself break out into a wide smile, reaching forward and gently grabbing her hand. “why are you so nervous? you already at least know that i feel the same way.” kai let out a soft laugh, not wanting her to think that he was laughing at her. that really wasn’t the case. he was just laughing at the fact they were so nervous to admit how they felt to one another, when they actually didn’t have to be nervous because they both felt the same way.

“we like eachother.” kai mumbled, mostly to himself, as he looked down at miyeon’s hand in his. he could really get used to this; having her in his dorm, talking to her, holding her hand, and just spending time with her. he really enjoyed all of it, and he hoped it would become a normal part of his schedule before he knew it. “now what? i mean, do we go out on a date?”

truth be told, kai had only ever had one girlfriend, back in his first year of college. but now that he looked back on it, they were really just best friends that got confused with how they actually felt for eachother. but that was beside the point, the point was that he hadn’t dated in a long while, and he didn’t know what to do now that someone liked him. was it okay to ask miyeon out on a date? sure, that would be nice and a great place to get to know eachother better, but some girls prefered just to talk before wasting their night with a guy on a date; he didn’t know miyeon well enough to know which option she prefered.

    kwon soojin

soojin listened to heejun’s answers to her questions with a smile, occasionally nodding to show that she was listening. audio and video technology? that actually sounded interesting to her, so she was a bit surprised when heejun was quick to say that it wasn’t boring. she could only assume that other people had said it was boring to him before, which could explain why he was so quick to defend what he was studying. she didn’t blame him though, if someone said something offensive about the thing she was passionate about, she would want to be protective over it every other time it was mentioned. she would be sure to later tell him that she didn’t think it sounded boring at all, not even for a second.

and he was from pyeongchang, which was cool too. he was born a lot closer to her than her own best friend was, but she supposed that everyone from korea was born a lot closer to her than miyeon was, seeing as she was born in the states. but still, her and heejun were born a lot closer than she would’ve guessed, only three hours if she was remembering correctly, which wasn’t all that long of a time. she was just about to comment on that, but she realized that he still wasn’t done answering her questions, and he would probably end up asking where she was from too, so she stayed silent, nodding again to show that she was still listening to his words.

hearing his answers to her final question made her break out into a huge smile. she felt as if she was dreaming, he sounded so perfect. first off, he was so kind to her at the party, and now he was telling her that he also liked video games and hugs? it felt almost as if he was made just for her. she sat up a bit straighter as he asked her the same questions that she had asked him, eager to let him know that they finally found something that they had in common other than their roommates crushing on eachother.

“i’m studying zoology, i really love animals so i’ve always wanted to have a job that has something to do with them and well, here i am. and i’m from daejeon, which i think isn’t too far from pyeongchang, maybe we were meant to meet with how close we were to eachother, huh?” she let out a soft, light laugh, enjoying the feeling that came with being near heejun. she felt safe, like she had nothing to worry about around him, and she felt like she could be herself without judgement. it was a really nice feeling. she really enjoyed being around him, and she really hoped that he knew about how kind his aura was and how he just radiated such a nice energy.

“i like video games a lot too, maybe we should play something together some time, yeah?” soojin gently nudged him, a huge smile spread across her face. sometimes miyeon would play games with her, but it was nice to have found someone that was actually super interested in them like she was. “and i like hugs too, who doesn’t? but that’s just repeating the same things you said so, let me think of something else to tell you.” she trailed off for a moment, thinking of something interesting that she could tell heejun. it was times like this that she really wished she had a more adventurous life, maybe then she could tell him some funny, wild story. but she didn’t have anything, sorry heejun. “you know what? i’m actually kind of happy that you spilled your drink on me at the party, or else we would’ve never been talking right now. i mean, with kai and miyeon talking, we’d probably meet eventually, but i’m really happy that we started talking tonight and not some unknown time in the future.”

    park miyeon

( sorry it's taken forever to get this posted! i started college this week as well as 5:30am sport practices, so i've been very busy and tired lately. but i promise as i get used to my new schedule, my replies will be more often! this reply will also be very short, it's midnight and i'm in the middle of a 3 day cheer camp and it's extremely exhausting;;;)

when kai took her hand, miyeon wanted to scream. not in a bad way, but, more for excitement. this was happening, this wasn't some wild fantasy miyeon was having. this was real, really real. her heart started racing, wondering what kai's next move was. it seemed like he was still processing this, too. hearing him ask her why she's nervous, she could only shrug her shoulders. she really had no reason to, but she was. "i, i don't know, i just am." she laughed softly, embarrassed.

it was weird to think that they really did like each other, but they were both in the same situation and they thought that the other wouldn't agree. things like that only happen in movies, but this wasn't a movie at all. to miyeon, this was only her weird, crazy, dysfunctional life and it suddenly just got a lot better. she took the time to look at her hand in kai's. it they were like polar opposites, but it was like their hands were made to fit in each other's. it was a good sight to see, and one probably both of them have been waiting for for a while.

what really was next for them? miyeon really wasn't sure, but hopefully kai had a clue. she hadn't really dated much with anyone, or she hasn't had those drunken flings, mainly since she doesn't drink. she's had around three or four boyfriends in the past, but it just doesn't feel the same. when he asked if they should go on a date, miyeon tilted her head. now? surely he doesn't mean now, it's literally the middle of the night and they aren't really prepared for a date. "are we? well, probably not right now, but sometime?" she nearly wanted to laugh at how silly they were being. they were preparing to graduate college to become a teacher and a psychologist, yet they're still wondering what's next for them? even kids now know how to date properly, and kai probably doesn't want dating advice from his future students.

    lim heejun

a zoologist? hearing that made heejun smile. he really loved animals, but he never saw himself pursuing a career involving them. soojin looks like a good type to work around animals, and he could tell she had the personality to do it, too. not many people can work well with animals, but heejun knows soojin can. daejeon? heejun's never been there, but he's heard so much good things about it. but if someone like soojin was from there, surely that city's doing something right.

when he heard about soojin also liking video games, heejun's face lit up. he was like a kid in a candy store, full of fascination. "of course we can play games sometime. but i'll let you know, it we ever play against each other at some time, i'm extremely competitive." he laughed. heejun was extremely competitive, but he's never the type to flaunt his skills or wins in anyone's face. especially when it comes to soojin, he doesn't want to sound like an asshole to her.

she told him she was happy he spilled his drink on her, and heejun instantly looked confused. it was a good thing it happened because otherwise, this never would've happened, things could've been better. even if he didn't want to admit it, soojin is right. it was a good thing it happened. "yeah, when you put it that way." heejun trailed off, fiddling with his hands. stopping, he gave soojin a soft smile and repaid the nudge she gave him. "but i'm still going to feel guilty about it." he laughed quietly. soon after, heejun added on, but at a low tone. "but if it allows me to see you often, then that's a miracle."

realizing what was happening, heejun coughed and cleared his throat. "that wasn't meant in a weird way, but since the topic was brought up, i'd like to say that i'd really like to see you more often." think heejun, think. he can get himself out of this one. "if you'd like, i'd really like to talk to you more," he said slyly, putting a hand on the back of his neck. he was normally the smoother side of him was fearless, but not now? what was happening to him?

(( it’s alright, take as much time as you need to reply! please get lots of rest though, don’t feel like you need to reply right away even though you’re tired, i’d rather replies not be as often rather than you be tired !! ))

kai smiled as miyeon spoke, nodding quickly at her words. she was right, it would be the right time to go on a date eventually, they would figure out when that right time would be when it came. really, all they could do is do what felt right, when it felt right. there really was no certain schedule or list of things that a relationship had to follow, they had to do things their own way, that’s the only way they would really be happy with what they had together anyways. “yeah, sometime.”

truthfully, after a good nights rest, a bit of sobering up, and taking the time to realize that miyeon liking him back was reality and not some amazing dream, he would probably figure out what the next step to take was. or he could at least ask heejun, since he was good with that type of stuff. but the point was that right now, he was just super giddy and almost too much in disbelief over the situation to actually think clearly. he so desperately wanted to come off as cool and like he knew what all the right things to say and so were, but that just wasn’t the case. he wanted to impress miyeon, but he couldn’t shake the way his heartbeat would speed up whenever he reminded himself that this was reality or the way his mind was fuzzy from the alcohol he had consumed earlier in the night. he just couldn’t be smooth when he was like this.

“hey,” kai spoke up, going off topic for a moment as he glanced over at the clock. it had gotten later, obviously that’s how time worked, but he didn’t want it to get too late for her to go back home or anything. “just let me know when you wanna head back home then, i’ll walk you back.” he looked back at her, then tilted his head to the side a little. “or maybe you could stay here? i mean, you don’t have to sleep in my bed with me or anything of course, but just in case you don’t wanna walk back so late. you could sleep on the couch, or actually you could sleep in my bed and i’ll sleep on the couch, my bed is more comfortable, after all.” he knew he was speaking a little quickly, but that was just one of his nervous quirks. some people went silent when they got nervous, he talked even more and even faster than usual. “just let me know what you want to do then, but um, for now we can just keep talking? i really want to get to know more about you, like your hobbies and all your favorite things.”

    kwon soojin

soojin let out a soft laugh as she heard that heejun was competitive. she could only imagine what a competitive heejun looked like, how excited he would get if he won a game or how he would argue that he let the other person win if he lost; it was a rather cute sight in her opinion, and she really couldn’t wait to see for herself what it was actually like. “well, i’ll let you know that i’m a lot better than you would think, so be prepared to lose.” she was only joking of course, she wasn’t really the competitive type, she played purely for fun and didn’t care too much if she lost or won; she just wanted to see heejun’s reaction to her words.

she watched as heejun fiddled with his hands, flashing him a soft smile when he said that he still felt guilty about earlier. she was just about to speak up and tell him that it was alright, that he didn’t have to feel even an ounce of guilt for what happened, when he continued talking, and what he said had made her fall silent for a moment. not in a bad way though, really the only reason her mind had forced her to shut up was so she didn’t say anything that would be embarrassing. her cheeks were already heating up at his words, which was probably already embarrassing enough, she didn’t need to say anything weird or dumb to add to that.

seeing how he seemed nervous now too, she instantly wanted to clear the air between them and make him realize that she didn’t take his words the wrong way or anything. soojin let out a soft laugh and nodded. “you know, i really want to see you more often, too.” she brought a hand up to her face to feel her cheeks, letting out a soft sigh of relief as she realized she wasn’t blushing anymore. maybe seeing him get all flustered over his words made her feel a little better? yeah. “and i’d like to talk to you more as well, we already found stuff that we have in common and already know some stuff about eachother, we just can’t not be friends now.” she looked down at her lap where her hands now rested, shyly looking back up at him after a moment. it almost felt like he was saying all the right things, but he probably wasn’t saying it with the hopes as she had. he was probably hoping to be friends, she wanted to be friends too, but more than that eventually. she doubted he wanted the same things as her though. “what did you want to talk about? you must have something in mind, people don’t usually say they want to talk more without having a topic already planned.”

    park miyeon

( i can just imagine kai’s big cheeky smile once he’s finally sober enough to realize that miyeon does actually like him omg kai’s just one giant (literally) uwu goodness i love him

although i can also imagine them deciding to watch a movie and miyeon falling asleep on his shoulder or something so they both just sleep on the couch, and when kai wakes up, he kind of forgot about them actually confessing to each other (bc he wasn’t exactly the most sober) and he completely freaks out because he literally has his crush sleeping on his shoulder and heejun just walks out of his room like “about freaking time, it took you long enough to tell her. turns out you just needed to be tipsy to do it.” )

they actually did it. they actually planned to come up with a day to go on a date. a real date. this is really happening, and miyeon couldn’t be more excited. she felt like she was on a complete high, like she was in such a good place at this very moment. miyeon had to remind herself that she isn’t drunk nor high, and that she was completely sober. she’ll definitely be able to remember this in the morning, and every day after. that’s the best part. “so, it’s a plan, then.” she replied happily. she wanted to give him the biggest smile in the world, but he already was the proud owner of that. all miyeon could manage was a small, shy smile. she had no reason to be shy or nervous, or at least to kai. inside, miyeon was a mess. she just confessed to kai after hearing him confess to her and now they’re actually going to go on a date soon. the possibility of miyeon being able to call kai her boyfriend is getting bigger by the second, and that’s mindblowing for her.

after their short silence, miyeon looked directly at kai when he tried to catch her attention. he started mentioning her leaving or the possibility of her staying with kai for the night. it was getting very late, and by this time some party-goers begin to hobble back to their dorms to try to sleep off their hangover they’ll definitely have later. it’s almost comparable to the zombie apocalypse, except these things roaming the campus speak in somewhat comprehending sentences. the thought of walking back to her dorm was terrifying, even if kai did walk with her. she didn’t want to suggest she stay with him, because that’d be inviting herself into his home, which is just rude. sure, he did kind of offer her the opportunity first, but she does have the opportunity to decline. kai suggesting that they can just talk was the perfect way for her to segue the conversation. “maybe we can figure that out later? things may change if it gets too late.”

after miyeon answered his question, all she could do was look down, seeing how her hand was still in kai’s. neither of them moved, and neither of them probably wanted to move, it just felt so natural even though it’s the first time they’ve held hands. hers just rested so nice in kai’s hand, she absolutely didn’t want to lose this moment. but, it would be a good time to start conversation. what should she bring up? she didn’t want to search his house for certain things to comment on, but what were her options? “hmm, hobbies or favorite things? well, i’m really into art, but i don’t draw. it’s more of like, painting and pottery and that kinda stuff. i started pottery in high school because i wanted cute cups, bowls, and vases without having to buy them, but then i realized i really liked it.” she laughed at herself, realizing how weird her reasoning actually was. it sounded cheap, but in reality, it was a smart idea. she wanted cute things, so she decided to make them instead of buying. "what do you like to do?" she asked respectively, continuing the conversation.

    lim heejun

heejun was about to die of embarrassment. he completely screwed up the moment he felt that silence. soojin was probably laughing at him to herself. he's being a wreck, and that's going to be a lasting impression of himself. heejun, the guy who spilled his drink on a pretty girl and later became a puzzled mess right in front of her. he was thinking that she probably regretted inviting him to her dorm, but she later agreed, wanting to see him more. that shocked heejun, making him look right up at her to see her hands on her cheeks. she also looked relieved, was everything okay? she looked like she was waiting to hear something she wanted to hear. was she actually hoping heejun would want to see her more? if that's the case, then wow that's adorable.

chuckling, heejun agreed to her statement. "yeah, you're right. it's too late to turn back now, i guess." they really would have to be friends, one way or another. or at least, they'd have to tolerate each other. with as much as their roommates are going to be seeing each other, they'll be bound to meet up together at some point (omg imagine the double dates mY HEART). heejun really hopes they'll be friends, because soojin was like a gem. she's extremely special and heejun would be an idiot to not befriend her on the spot. people like her don't come around often.

oh shoot. a conversation topic. heejun didn't have one of those in mind. quick heejun, think. he looked down at his lap, then around the room, but making sure to only move his eyes and not his head. looking at soojin, he started to talk. "so, you were at that party, but i get the impression that you don't normally go to parties. what other kind of things do you do besides videos games? are you some star athlete can can beat anyone in a race, or maybe even scrabble? hell, maybe even both?" heejun tried really hard to add a comedic value to his question, mainly to forget about he semi-awkward moment they just had not even five minutes ago.

(( he’s going to be internally freaking out about it for a long time honestly

i can imagine him just being kind of mind blown by the fact that she actually likes him and constantly asking her if she actually does like him, like even after years of being together, he’ll still be like ‘are you sure you like me?’ and whenever she reassured him, that yes she is sure and really does like him, he’s always just going to be like ‘wow i’m the luckiest guy alive’

i’m imagining that too now and honestly... big uwu

he’s going to just be torn between freaking out (because there he is with his long time crush sleeping on his shoulder, he sort of just wants to smack himself too, just to make sure it’s real and not some super realistic dream) and staying completely still and silent because he doesn’t want to wake her up, partially because that would be rude of him and partially because she just looks so pretty and peaceful when she’s asleep and he’ll probably just kind of be admiring her for a moment and as soon as heejun walks in he’s just going to turn into a blushing mess and will probably try to stutter out an excuse for why he was staring at her and trying to lie and say that he was always going to confess to her, he was never too nervous to do it (heejun will totally see through that obvious lie), he just needed to wait until the right time ))

kai nodded as miyeon suggested they talk about her going home or staying with him later. it wasn’t like it was time for her to leave yet or anything, not that there was a set time for her to leave, they had plenty of time until it was actually time for them to discuss where she would be staying the night. and they could use that time to talk, which honestly made kai wish that they never ran out of time, that the time for them to part ways just never came.

as miyeon went on to talk about how she was really into art, kai felt himself listening intently, as if she was giving him the most important lesson he would ever learn in his life. she was just so captivating, he felt like he could listen to her talk for hours about anything, it really felt like she could make even the most boring things sound interesting to him. but really, what he wanted to hear her talk about for hours on end were her interests; she sounded so happy when talking about them and her eyes lit up just a bit more than usual. it was truly a beautiful sight.

“that’s really smart. you saved money because you didn’t actually have to buy the things you wanted, and on top of that, you were getting exactly what you wanted. like, you could customize it to be exactly what you wanted.” kai was sure he’d constantly be blown away with how brilliant she was. he always was in class whenever she answered questions or whenever he saw her test grades, it was no secret that she was a highly intelligent person. even their professor had commented on it a few times, and of course kai had gone on about how smart she was to heejun; nearly everyone in his life knew how smart miyeon was. but even outside of academics, she was proving to be smart. kai would’ve never thought of making his own things to save money, but miyeon did. so, in his eyes, that made her absolutely brilliant. “you’ll have to show me some of the stuff you’ve made some time, yeah?”

when the conversation moved back to him and miyeon asked what he liked, kai instantly felt boring. the little insecure voice inside his head made him think that he didn’t have any interests that would be interesting to miyeon. he feared that she would find him boring and end up learning that he wasn’t what she thought he was and result in her taking back he fast she said she liked him. but kai had to learn to be a bit more confident, he once thought that he wouldn’t ever be able to talk to her and here he was having a conversation with her, he once thought that she would never like him back and she had just confessed to him a few minutes ago, and now he was thinking she would find him boring, but it would probably end up being the opposite of that. confidence was key. at least that’s what heejun always said.

“i know it’s not super interesting or anything, but i’m really into just like, helping people i guess? that’s part of the reason i want to be a teacher too, because i’m people people learn, but it always doesn’t have to be that serious or anything. i like making people laugh too, i’m not super funny or anything, but i still somehow manage to do it sometimes and i really like it. making people laugh is helping them be happy i guess, okay wow this is sounding more and more dumb the more i go on about it.” kai brought his free hand, the one that wasn’t holding miyeon’s, up to his face, trying to rub away the red color that appeared in his cheeks. confidence was key, but he seemed to have lost all of it as quickly as he gained it.

“ah, okay, ignore all of that. what do i like to do? besides make a fool of myself,” he let out a nervous laugh, letting his hand drop back down to his lap, and then continued, “since i like dogs so much, i like to go to the park or just walk around town. there’s always someone out with their dog, and people almost always stop and let you pet their dog if you ask nicely, so it’s a great way to meet cute dogs! i only started doing that the first year i came to seoul, it was unintentional at first, but the more i went out, the more i realized that there’s a whole lot of dogs here in seoul, so now i go out with the intentions of seeing dogs. they’re just so cute.” kai laughed again, although this one was more amused than nervous. “i used to drag my roommate heejun out with me a lot, but i think he’s gotten sick of me tearing him outside when it’s raining or super cold or really early just in hopes of seeing dogs, so i’ve been in need of a new partner. maybe you can come out with me sometime?”

    kwon soojin

(( we have to make them go out on a double date, i’m just crying over how cute it’d be ))

soojin was really glad that heejun seemed like a natural born social butterfly, she always flocked to people like that, mostly because of her own social awkwardness, but also because there was just something attractive about people never letting things get awkward and always being able to come up with a topic to chat about. it wasn’t even just boys like heejun that she found herself being attracted to either, one of the many reasons that she had so quickly befriended miyeon was because of how big of a social butterfly she was. it was just so comforting, and she fit well with people like that. soojin hoped that since her and miyeon were the best of friends and got along so well, that her relationship with heejun would be the same, whether it be just friends or eventually something more.

hearing what heejun was saying, soojin crinkled up her nose and quickly shook her head, laughter flowing from her lips. “oh, do i look like an athletic scrabble champion? noted.” she gently nudged him, giggles still occasionally coming from her as she tried to gather herself. she wasn’t sure why he was able to so easily reduce her to a mess of amused giggles, red cheeks, and nervousness. was it because he seemed like a boy that she could only dream up with how he wasn’t only attractive, but also had a kind personality and heart and so much in common with her already? probably. that was probably it. curse heejun for being so wonderfully wonderful and cute. soojin would probably transform into a little giggling tomato by the end of the night if he kept making her blush and laugh like this.

“well heejun, i’m really sorry to ruin that image you had of me, but i’m not athletic nor am i very good at scrabble. but, i do like to read books a lot. and watch movies. and don’t even ask what my favorite is, because it’s impossible to choose a favorite, especially since i read so many books and watch so many movies; i really like just about anything.” soojin shrugged, a smile stretched across her face as she spoke. it felt so easy to talk to him. sure, there was that lingering nervousness that came in the form of making her heart speed up whenever he laughed or smiled, but overall it felt like she had known him for years, like she could tell him anything without any worries. he was comforting to be around. “oh, and i don’t mean to brag or anything, but i am a really good cook. you’ll have to tell me your favorite food so i can make it for you sometime.”

deciding that she spoke about herself enough for the moment, she decided to turn the conversation back to him. besides, she really liked hearing him talk, his voice was soothing, it was really nice. “what about you? it seems like you like to go to parties, especially with how much fun you were having,” she paused for a moment, weighing the possible outcomes of her saying that it was cute, seeing how much fun he was having, but she ultimately decided against it. she was never too good at flirting, and she couldn’t even tell if this was the best time or place to do it. “but what else do you like to do?”

    park miyeon

( ahh i feel terrible for not posing sooner! school's been kicking my ass already and it's only going to get worse ;-; i promise i'm not losing muse or interest for this thread (honestly i'm obsessed with these characters and i want them all to have the happy ending they deserve!!), but i should be able to be fully adjusted to my schedule either next week or the week after!

kai, ten years after being married to miyeon with two kids: so, a-are you sure you still like me? )

finally someone understood her money saving tactics. whenever she described it in that way, she’d always be called cheap for not actually going and buying stuff. but really, what was so good about that? “thank you! someone finally understands it.” she replied with a light laugh. she honestly thought her thinking was smart, but as soon as she noticed other people thought it was unusual, she began to rethink her reasoning. she didn’t stop creating, but she began to tell others that it was all for recreation and not for the sake of saving money. she would’ve told kai the bad excuse, but she felt comfortable enough with him to tell the truth. when he mentioned wanting to see her art, miyeon shrunk, becoming embarrassed. it was like she didn’t think they were good enough for kai to see, or he’d think they’re bad. “i mean, if you really want to, you can.” she squeaked out, not necessarily uncertain, but embarrassed.

miyeon was glad the topic changed, otherwise she’d be a mess, full of a mixture between nervousness and full interest for kai. she could really hear himself talk for days.his voice was a soothing tone, not too deep but deep enough to relax nearly anyone. hearing him talk about himself was even better. when she heard he liked to help people, she wanted to tear up. he’s such a beautiful person, inside and out. she almost couldn’t believe that he was calling all of that dumb. “no, no, no, that’s not dumb.” she began to reassure him quickly. “that’s really sweet of you, not many people are like that.” from miyeon’s experience, it’s true. she’s had teachers who only cared for the paycheck and wouldn’t bother to care about the kids, it was the worst experience of her life, maybe. learning kids deserve a teacher who loves them just as much as they love to play. kai would be the perfect teacher, especially for such a young group of kids.

she was way too busy admiring the cute redness of his cheeks to fully comprehend what he was saying, as bad as it was to say. but judging by his nervous laughter, he was trying to find the right words to say. oh boy, as if he couldn’t get any cuter, he freaking pulls the dog card. he likes to go to to the park to meet dogs? how adorable can he be? “that’s amazing, i love that,” miyeon commented with a bright smile. he later offered if she’d like to go with him sometime, miyeon didn’t hesitate to agree. “of course i’d go! i’m always down to see dogs, they’re one of the world’s national treasures.”

wanting to continue down the dog path, miyeon decided to ask some questions. “did you have any dogs growing up?” dogs were a popular family companion, although miyeon never had one. she’s had a cuddly house cat, but a dog was never something her parents wanted to add to the family. although, she promised herself she would get a dog as soon as she could when she’s living on her own. it was a long term plan, but it was slowly getting closer, day by day.

    lim heejun

heejun was having a great time getting to know soojin. one could even say this was better than the party. actually, yes, this was better than the party. soojin was intriguing. it was like he never wanted to stop talking to her. he could stay up all night talking to her, although that probably wouldn’t be possible. soojin’s probably getting tired and heejun really can’t be here too long. they barely know each other, it’d be weird to start having all-nighters together so soon. actually, heeun doesn’t really do all-nighters often anyways. even on the nights where he’s out partying, he still knows to make it home to get to sleep at a decent hour.

when she questioned his comment, heejun smiled. the way her nose squished up was cute. he allowed himself to be nudged by soojin, swaying to the side as he felt himself being moved. heejun quickly moved back to his original spot, that smile never fading. “hey, i’m just curious,” he excused, chuckling a tiny bit. he also couldn’t resist looking at her cheeks, which were getting redder and redder. gosh, miyeon was good at picking best friends, because soojin’s a really good one. not only is she incredibly attractive, but she’s just a good person to be around. she’s been nothing but compassionate to heejun since they met, even when she had the right to be incredibly pissed at him. he didn’t deserve her kindness, but she gave it to him anyway.

hearing soojin deny his prediction, he sighed jokingly, shaking his head. he later changed his reaction when soojin mentioned reading. she does look like the type to snuggle up with a good book on a cold day. the same applies to movies. she seems like a really simple girl, and that was just adorable to heejun. he can’t stand those high maintenance girls that other boys liked. heejun himself prefers more simplistic girls, they’re just more approachable for him.when soojin said she was a good cook, heejun widened his eyes, even raising one eyebrow. “really? you’ll have to show me sometime.” he said, almost daringly until he shook his head as if he was shaking that attitude away. “but it’s not like i’m any prestigious cook or anything. i’m… average?”

now thinking about himself, heejun sighed, mind blank. what would he say? she was spot on with him liking parties, although it shouldn’t seem like he’s obsessed with them. “well, i do like parties, although i don’t really go to them often. i’m still a good student, i can’t be partying all the time, right?” he started, buying himself some time to think. “well, when i’m not working, i’m just out and about, doing anything i can think of. kai and i sometimes go out to the park to hang out, but he mainly goes for the dogs.” heejun laughed. kai absolutely loved dragging heejun out to the park for the dogs, but that’s nothing to complain about. sure, heejun doesn’t like to go out with him all the time, but that’s when he’s busy or extremely tired.

    wang kai

(( it’s all good, take as much time as you need to reply, i never mind the wait!

kai, after miyeon takes more than .5 seconds to answer him: oh she definetly hates me doesn’t she ))

kai had really thought that it would be impossible for him to like miyeon any more than he already did, but the more he spoke to her, the more he ended up liking her. and seeing the way her face lit up and hearing her laugh, that was enough to tell him that she really had already claimed his heart. it wasn’t like he was in love with her, it was way too soon to say anything like that, but he was obviously very invested in her. and seeing how shy she got at the idea of him seeing any of her art, well that was just downright cute. if it wouldn’t be embarrassing, he probably would’ve just squealed over her right then and there. did she have any idea what she did to his heart? “yeah, i want to. you’re really talented at everything else, i would think that it’s the same story for your art, so i’d really like to see some of your art. but only show me when you’re ready to show me, alright? i don’t want you to feel like i’m forcing you to show me any of it or something like that.” honestly, kai felt like he could wait a lifetime to see something she created if that’s the amount of time that she wanted him to wait. maybe it was way too soon to say, but he felt like he would do almost anything to make her happy.

and it seemed like she was saying anything just to make him happy. or, actually she was just really good at saying the right things and making him happy in general. he really hadn’t been expecting for her to say something about him was sweet, nor did he expect for her to say that something he did was amazing; they weren’t really compliments per say, but he was still blushing as if she just gave him the most compliments anyone has ever heard. she just had that affect on him. she also had the ability to make him nearly embarrass himself, hearing that she was willing to go walk around and see cute dogs with him had him very tempted to say ‘well it’s a date’, but he could only see it ending with him embarrassing himself terribly and her laughing at him or being weirded out, so he decided to keep his mouth shut.

thankfully, miyeon carried on the conversation. “no, i’ve never actually had any pet of my own yet. but that just makes meeting all these dogs even more important, it’ll help me figure out which breed works best for me for when i actually finally get a dog of my own.” kai was sure he didn’t need actual reasoning behind why he liked going out and seeing dogs other than him liking dogs, but just in case miyeon secretly thought it was dumb or childish of him, he was going to keep adding on reasons until he was sure she didn’t think that way. which would probably be never knowing how he was, but oh well. there wasn’t much he could do about suddenly becoming insecure around girls.

“what about you though, have you ever had a dog? or actually, have you ever had any pet?” he was sure that miyeon probably had to have had at least one pet in her life, most people did anyways, even if it was something as small as a fish. kai was pretty sure he was a rare case, never having a pet at all by this point was something that tended to surprise people. and he just really liked hearing people’s pet stories, he had heard tons of friends gush about how their dogs learned new tricks or how cute their cats looked when they slept, and he always enjoyed hearing every single one of them. but he was sure that if miyeon told a pet story, he would enjoy it a little more than usual. “you should tell me about them, i like hearing about childhood pets since i missed out on having that kind of experience.”

    kwon soojin

soojin really couldn’t believe how easy it was to talk to heejun and how much they were getting along already. she hadn’t ever really had a bad experience talking to someone, she was usually good at picking out people that she just knew she wouldn’t get along with too well and just avoided them, but she hadn’t ever really clicked with someone like this before. the closest thing she could compare to what she was experiencing with heejun was when she met miyeon, but it was a little different than that. maybe because she was attracted to miyeon in a ‘i want to be best friends for life’ kind of way and she was attracted to heejun in a ‘you’re clumsy but you’re also super cute’ kind of way.

“guess we’ll just have to cook together at some point then, i’ll teach you some tricks of mine.” she knew that there probably wouldn’t be any situation for her and heejun to be cooking together any time soon, but putting the idea of it on the table just felt good. the idea of her and heejun actually being in a kitchen cooking and making eachother smile and laugh and blush like they were doing now just sounded nice, and she wanted heejun to know that they could totally do that. she really wanted to do that.

as the topic moved back to heejun, soojin found herself smiling again. talking about herself was hard sometimes, but listening to others talk about themselves was something that was easy and something that she had always enjoyed doing. “that’s a good point.” she commented, mainly to herself. could he get any more perfect? he was cute, funny, had the same interests as her, and now he knew how to have fun all while being smart about it at the same time? he was like a dream come true. “for the dogs? that’s really cute.” soojin could only imagine what it looked like, two guys going to the park just to go see dogs, and in her head, it looked really cute. she hoped she would be able to see it in person one day, and who knew, maybe that could be something that all four of them did together.

“well next time you’re free, let me know. we should go and do something.” soojin froze up a bit after hearing herself. did it sound like she was asking him on a date? she didn’t really know, but if he took it that way, she hoped he didn’t take it the wrong way. she wasn’t very good at flirting, she wasn’t smooth or romantic or anything, she was quite the opposite actually, so she hoped that things went well no matter how he interpreted what she said. “but before we get ahead of ourselves and think about what we’ll do next time we’re together, let’s focus on now, yeah?” the words were totally only directed at herself, and she was really only saying them out loud just so she had a bit of time to think of what to say next. she really didn’t want things to get awkward between them when they were just going so well. “you’re a really good friend though, you know that? you listened to kai always talk about miyeon, and you were even working on helping him talk to her, and you go along with him to do little things like that. anyone would be lucky to have you.” those were just little things, but some people weren’t willing to do even the tiniest of things for their friends, so knowing that kai had someone as amazing as heejun almost made her a little jealous. almost meaning that she knew she actually had the best friend of them all. “how did you and kai meet anyways?”

    park miyeon

( god they're so cute i want to cryyy )

she? was talented at everything? oh kai, you're so adorable for believing such a thing. while he may believe that, he's obviously never seen her cut foods or even dance. her dancing was a sight for her mirror and her mirror only. some things are just too atrocious for other humans to see. but out of compassion, miyeon smiled. it was nice he was telling her to show him when she prefers, he wasn't forcing her to do anything at all, which really pleased miyeon. "i will, sometime." she chuckled happily.

as time went on, miyeon felt herself falling more and more for kai. even the littlest things he did made her want to just freak out over him. not in a creepy way, but in an "he's so cute, i'm such a lucky girl" kind of way. she only knew him as that cute, sweet guy from math class and that was enough for her to develop a crush on him. now that she's actually talking to him and learning about him, one could say that crush is growing by the minute. it's incredible knowing that kai likes miyeon as well. fate sure is on their side, huh?

"you've never had a pet? i'm surprised." miyeon commented. kai sounded like the most likely person to grow up with pets. picture it: a little kai cuddling a huge dog, twice his size. or maybe a baby kai curled up to a fluffy cat as they slept together. but now that miyeon knows those never happened, all they'll be is fictional visions. "me? i only had a really big loaf of a cat. she didn't play or anything, but she really was the best napping buddy." she recalled. that cat really was the best one in the house to sleep with, not like there was much choice. "i've always wanted a dog, but i always thought i was allergic since my mom was. luckily i'm not, but that probably wouldn't stop me from getting one anyway."

    lim heejun

the thought of him and soojin cooking together was one that nearly put butterflies in his stomach. sure, it wasn't much, but whenever he saw two people cooking together, they were always a couple and did those really cheesy couple things that they did when cooking. it was too early to be thinking about himself in those situations with soojin, but heejun's always wanted to be the type of guy to wrap his arm around his lover's waist as they cooked, or "trap" them between their arms and the counter. they were pretty cheesy, but heejun didn't care. "that'd be fun, i can also use some help with cooking." he trailed off, hubbibg the back of his neck with his hand.

truth be told, heejun wasn't really the best cook. he can cook simple recipes, but he doesn't try anything new. he's not very adventurous with his cooking. but if soojin would be willing to help him out, that'd be great.

things went on and heejun found himself feeling speechless at what soojin was saying. first, it sounded like she really wanted to see him more, which make heejun extremely happy. then, she started complimenting him on being a good friend to kai. heejun never saw himself as an amazing friend, he just really wanted the best for kai. it's only what he deserves. "how we met? ah," he sighed, reacting to soojin's last question. "i'm pretty sure it was the beginning of our first year. we weren't roommates at that time, we just lived a few doors down from each other. it was... move in day? yeah, it was. i was heading up to my room when i just see this trail of items going down the hall leading to his room. kai just had a ton of things with him and he kept dropping stuff. i picked everything up for him and when i got to his door, i asked him if they belonged to him," heejun started. "the boy really had the nerve to accuse me of stealing his stuff at first, i thought he was crazy. i later got him to understand that i wasn't stealing anything, so then he asked me to help him unpack... and i guess we've been frinds since." it was crazy to know that kai never would've been his friend if heejun didn't convince him he wasn't some thief, and luckily they did turn out to be friends. heejun couldn't picture himself without kai, he's like the brother he's never had, that's why heejun wants to make sure he gets everything he strives for.

    wang kai

(( now you’ve got me picturing a tiny kai with a big dog and i’m in tears

also i just imagined kai coming over one day to surprise miyeon and he sees her dancing in front of the mirror and he’s just like ‘oh my god are you actually okay’

but they really are so cute, i love them so much and only want the very best for them ))

it seemed as if the two of them had a lot of things to look forward to. a date, her showing him her art; and okay, maybe it wasn’t that much to look forward to, but it was a whole lot more than he ever expected to experience with miyeon, he always thought she would be the cute girl from class, and now here they were being talkative and friendly and even having a date somewhere in thejr future. “i’m looking forward to it.”

as miyeon went on to talk about her cat, kai nearly gasped just from how cute the image of miyeon and a fluffy little cat sleeping together looked. “i know i sound really biased towards dogs and all, but now you’ve made me consider getting a cat too, i’ve always heard they were jerks, but i guess that’s just some kind of joke, isn’t it? i never thought they would actually want to nap with someone.” it was true, everywhere on the internet he always saw the same ‘cats are assholes and dogs are angels that we don’t deserve’ posts and as someone who hadn’t really interacted with cats too much, he just assumed it was true because so many people said it. but hearing miyeon tell him that cats could be cuddly and enjoy taking naps with their humans, well it really made him think about it, and really, there was no way that people would like cats so much if they were really all that bad. now, he wanted to give a cat a chance too. maybe someday he would get one, and hopefully it would take naps with him and be an absolutely joyful addition to his life.

“ah, that makes sense why you’ve only ever had a cat.” kai nodded slowly, understanding it all now. at first he was confused, it seemed as if miyeon absolutely adored dogs just like he did, and hearing that she had pets, but never a dog, was surprising. but hearing that her mother was allergic made sense as to why she never had one before. “that’s cute actually, you really love dogs.” even if she was allergic she would still get one? wow, she really did love them. and really, it seemed as if the more he talked to miyeon, the more perfect she got. not only was she absolutely gorgeous, but she was also very intelligent, funny, adorable, and a dog lover. she was really turning out just to be his dream girl, and the best part of all of this was that she actually liked him back. kai would never figure out how he managed to get someone like her to like someone like him, but he would be forever grateful for it.

“well, we graduate soon, so looks like the time for us to get our own dogs is soon too. i’ve always planned just to get a dog after i graduate and find a decent place.” it was strange, he was able to share his future plans with miyeon so easily even if they had really only started talking tonight. sure, it wasn’t that big of a deal since it was only his plans to get a dog and nothing too intimate to share with someone, but it was still a big deal to kai, since as said before, this was really their first time talking. everything just came so easily when it came to miyeon, she made him nervous and all blushy, but it was also super easy to be himself around her.

“that’s actually all i’ve thought about for after graduation so far, which is bad, i know, since graduation is coming up quicker than we realize, but i guess i still haven’t figured out completely what i want to do. like, obviously i want to find a good place to live and start teaching, and get a dog of course, but i just feel like there’s other things i want to do, i just don’t know what i want yet. does that make any sense?” kai was never someone that was really good with words, so explaining himself was usually a huge chore that never really ended well for him. but it seemed like miyeon could figure him out, so he hoped this time wasn’t any different. all he knew was that he knew the very basics of what he wanted to do once his college life was over; get a job, get a house, and get a dog to keep him company for when his friends would be doing adult stuff. but it just felt like there were other things he wanted to do, but he just didn’t know what they were. it was like having a strong desire to travel but not having anywhere specific planned out, or being super hungry but not knowing what you were craving. he knew he wanted to do something else before he really jumped into life, but the answer to his desires hadn’t come to him yet.

“i’m sure i’ll figure it out though, or at least heejun will help me, he’s usually the brains in our friendship.” kai shrugged, and then widened his eyes in shock and apolgogy when he realized how much he had been talking about himself. and not even in an interesting way, it was more just rambling about his inner thoughts. “what about you though? do you have anything special you want to do after graduation? like, maybe you want to go on some wild road trip with all your friends or maybe you want to go back to visit america for a little.” he was really interested in what miyeon would say, maybe it was just because he was utterly infatuated with her, but anything she said was interesting to him.

    kwon soojin

(( soojin and heejun need to get into a kitchen and carry out heejun’s cute fantasies asap ))

soojin carefully listened to heejun’s story, not only was she genuinely interested, but she felt like it was something important to know. she always felt that it was important to know how people met their best friends, especially if you wanted to be friends with that person. she wasn’t sure why she felt that way, it was just something she always felt ever since she was a kid. and of course, since she wanted to be friends with heejun, she had to ask how he met kai and turned into his best friend.

for some reason, she was expecting some cute story of them being childhood friends or heejun moving to school and kai helping him and showing him around, so to hear the story start off with them only meeting in college was a bit of a surprise. as she continued listening, she couldn’t help but let out an amused laugh. kai had thought that heejun was stealing from him? and heejun was just trying to be a decent guy and return the stuff kai had dropped? that must’ve been quite the day, and it was a wild start to a friendship. “he thought you were stealing from him? oh my god, he’s really something else, isn’t he?” it wasn’t meant in a rude way, it was more of just saying that kai truly was unique, which was a great thing. she really couldn’t wait to meet kai, if someone like heejun was friends with him and if someone as amazing as miyeon liked him, then he was probably a great guy too, and hearing all these stories just confirmed the idea that it was great to be around him.

speaking of miyeon, heejun was going to eventually meet her too, and that was exciting to think about. her favorite person meeting the person she’s starting to develop a little crush on? it sounded amazing, two important people in her life hanging out and getting along was important to soojin. “speaking of friends, miyeon is going to totally want to meet you the second i tell her about you. i’m actually surprised you two haven’t met yet, i always thought she knew everyone.” of course that was an exaggeration, as much of a social butterfly that miyeon was, the campus was much to large for her to have met everyone who attended the school. “but i’m really excited for the two of you to meet, i already know you two are going to get along really well.” soojin wasn’t the most social and didn’t have the longest list of friends, but the people she did have in her life were extremely important to her and the idea of the people she loved being able to get along and spend time together without her was something that she cherished.

soojin stretched her arms above her head and then relaxed more into the couch, feeling more and more comfortable with heejun as time went on. there was just one bad thing about getting more comfortable now, it was getting later too, which meant there was a higher chance of her just passing out, which she really didn’t want to do while heejun was here. but on the other hand, she didn’t want him to leave either. good thing talking usually kept her awake, and her and heejun really could talk all night. at least that’s what she thought, she jusf couldn’t get bored of him and could listen to him talk for hours. his voice was so calming and his words were so interesting; everything about talking with him was perfect. “you should come back over one day, we can play some video games and then maybe around dinner time i can show you how to cook something new?” it was just a suggestion, but she hoped that he said yes, then it would turn into something she was excited for. “then maybe we can watch a movie or something.” she shrugged, hoping to not come across the wrong way, like desperate or suddenly clingy. she just liked spending time with him and wanted to be able to do it again in the near future. “and i’ll have to go over to your place now, it’s only fair since you got to see where i live.” one way to make sure they would spend time together again soon? make plans, which is exactly what she was attempting to do.

    park miyeon

( omg kai sees miyeon dancing and he's just like "oh my god why is she flailing like that is she okay do i need to call soojin???" )

"i can look forward to it." even that simple sentence made miyeon's heart do backflips. both of them were so eager to spend time with each other again, miyeon couldn't believe it. again, miyeon couldn't believe that she was sitting there with the wang kai, who happens to have a growing crush on her dumb ass. start the "i don't deserve kai, he's too amazing for me" counter.

hearing kai talk about how she's persuading him to get a cat made miyeon grin and chuckle a small bit. cats did have a bad reputation, didn't they? always the mean ones. the ones fighting, scratching, rebelling. heck, they don't call it a "cat fight" for nothing. but the world seems to leave the sweethearts under appreciated. "yeah, my cat was definitely the sweetest. that may be because she was nice to whoever gave her food." she started. "but cats really are nice companion pets, even though dogs have that title. they're really low maintenance and even though they may be rude idiots one minute, you'll forgive them and they'll love you the next." cats really were interesting.

kai seemed to give miyeon a wake up call as soon as he mentioned how soon graduation was approaching. she nearly forgot how her final due dates and exams are coming up within the next month or two. but as bad as it sounds, se was glad to hear that kai was nearly in the same boat as her. "really? i'm kind of like that too." she agreed softly. "i've been trying to squeeze in looking for apartments, job offers, and all that in between my schoolwork, but it's really hard to do that. psychology professors expect a whole ten book novel by the end of the year, and i don't even want to try leaving it until later." she explained, overexaggering just a little. she was swamped in homework at this point, she didn't have time to think about anything else until now. she tried, but she hasn't really succeeded yet. "i kind of don't want to go straight into working since i'm young and i need to do more with my life but- i don't- i not sure about all this." she faulted over her words, trying to find the right ones to say. she doesn't understand life. you need to work to get money, and you need money to do things, but you also need time to do things. but if you work to get money, there's no time to do anything else. it's an endless loop of unhappiness.

miyeon sighed, nearly mad at herself for her unreadiness. she's not ready to be an "adult" yet, but she's somehow panting this facade for everyone about how neat and organized her life is. oh miyeon, you need to get your life together. it was also undenyable that miyeon was growing tired. even as someone who loves to talk to people, socializing for so long can get tiring, even if it's with someone like kai. it's not is fault, though. she went to her first party in what, a year? maybe even two? that's tring enough. but no matter what, she wasn't about to show it to kai, he'll insist she goes home to sleep and that's the last thing she wants.

    lim heejun

( the sad part is heejun's only had flings or short relationships, nothing incredibly serious so he's never been able to do something cute or romantic like that but he really wants to ;-; )

it was nice soojin wasn't painting kai to be a bad guy based on heejun's story, especially since she'll have to trust her best friend with him. kai really was a good guy, and soojin really could tell that they were best friends. or, at least that was the hope. heejun couldn't help but laugh along with soojin whenever she laughed. "yeah, he was really mad at me for like an hour or something, but then he realized i wasn't going to do anything bad so he warmed up to me and then we've been acting like best friends since." he added as a final remark, stating what had already been known. their origin story wasn't really the happy story everyone else has, but that's what makes them unique. and it's also something heejun likes to tease kai over.

when soojin talked about miyeon, it was almost like he could see himself talking about kai. it was kind of scary. four people had friendships so strong and they all coincidentally talking to each other tonight. "she sounds really nice. i've seen her around sometimes, but not enough to actually talk. but i've typically left all te talking to her for kai." he joked. now that soojin got him thinking, how did her and miyeon meet? "so, how did you two meet? have you two known each other long?" he asked to soojin, trying to keep the conversation going.

seeing soojin yawning, heejun began to think he ws prolonging his stay. she was getting tired, right? she probably wants to get some sleep, but not before making plans with heejun. that make him happy, but he still couldn't get over the fact that he may be the one keeping her up. "anything you want to do works with me, i'm not picky." he replied happily. after a moment of silence, heejun looked at soojin.

"tell me, are you okay? i don't want to keep you awake if you're tired," it was sudden of him to ask, but it had to be asked sometime.

The post was edited 1 time, last by peachy. ().

    wang kai

(( when she tells him that she was just dancing he’s just going to be like ‘well at least now I know what i’m getting you for christmas; dancing lessons’ ))

kai nodded along with miyeon’s words, understanding everything that she was saying. well, maybe he didn’t understand how stressful and demanding the life of a psychology student was, but with the way that miyeon described it, he could tell things weren’t exactly easy. “now that you mention it, i really don’t want to go straight into working either.” sure, he was passionate about what he was studying and he was excited to finally be able to do that for a living, but he was still young. he had a lot of energy and youth that he wanted to put to good use before he finally settled into the life of a responsible adult. even if it was something small like taking a short vacation with heejun or something big like taking a roadtrip and traveling to as many places as he could in a year, he wanted to do something before it was time to settle down.

“i understand what you’re saying though, and it’s totally okay to feel that way. i mean look, i feel that way too so you know you’re not alone. i’m sure over half the people graduating with us feel the same way.” kai was extremely good at talking, it seemed as if he spent more time talking than breathing, but even with as much as he spoke, he was never really good with advice or giving verbal reassurance. still, for miyeon, he would try his best. “i think it’s normal, i mean we spent most of our lives in school, and now suddenly it’s all over, i think we’re all a little scared and confused, this is probably the most normal feeling we can have right now.” kai would have to be sure to as heejun about it later, he would know what to say to someone in the same situation as miyeon. and kai really did want miyeon to feel better about how she felt, and he really wanted to help her settle on what she wanted to do after graduation. it wouldn’t be easy, but he still wanted to help her. it really was no fun being clueless and lost.

“we’ll both figure out what we’re meant to do with our lives soon enough. i just know it.” kai flashed her a soft smile, and then feel quite, allowing himself to just listen to the sound of their breathing. it was nice, the silence wasn’t awkward at all, it was more calming and relaxing. they had talked quite a bit, at least for people who just met. and it felt really good to have quietness between them even just for a few moments. “are you getting tired?” he asked suddenly, hoping that he didn’t startle her with how suddenly he broke the silence. “I don’t want you to feel like i’m keeping you here or anything. as much as i like talking to you, you can go home if you’d like.” kai found himself looking around, hoping he didn’t make things awkward or break the good flow of conversation they had going on. “um, if you want to stay for a little longer though maybe we can watch a short movie? it’ll give us a break from talking for a little, i’m sure you’re a little tired of talking by now and you probably have a headache from the party anyways.”

    kwon soojin

hearing that heejun had seen miyeon around but hadn’t actually talked to her was a bit surprising. like she said earlier, she knew that miyeon didn’t actually know and talk to everyone, but the girl was a social butterfly and seemed to have had a short conversation with most people at least once, so knowing that miyeon and heejun probably saw eachother around but never actually interacted was something that she never expected. but she really couldn’t label that as too weird, knowing that kai and miyeon had been in the same class all year but never really spoke until tonight, but maybe that was just because miyeon liked kai and he just wasn’t some guy to her? soojin really didn’t know, and it wasn’t anything too major, so she just decided to move on. miyeon was talking to kai now, that’s what mattered, and she would end up talking to heejun eventually too since soojin was planning on introducing the two of them to eachother sometime.

“oh yeah, we’ve known eachother for a while.” soojin nodded, smiling fondly at the memory of how her and miyeon met. the reason behind them starting to talk wasn’t the best, but in a way, she was glad that it had happened because now she had the most perfect best friend that anyone could ever ask for. “we met in elementary school actually. when she first came here i thought everyone would flock to her and want to befriend her because she was the cool new girl from america, but for some reason nobody really talked to her much. so, i took the opportunity and befriended her, and we’ve been best friends ever since.” it really wasn’t a cute story, considering the reason she started talking to miyeon was because she seemed strangely unpopular, but that was okay. their meeting didn’t have to be cute, all that mattered was that they were friends. besides, it wasn’t as if kai and heejun had a super cute first meeting story either, so soojin didn’t feel so different from them.

when heejun asked if she was okay, soojin quickly nodded her head. sure, she was getting a little tired now that it was getting a bit later, but she didn’t want heejun to have to leave just yet. she wasn’t that tired and she certainly wasn’t done talking to him yet. the only way she would let him leave is if he wanted to, not because of her being a little tired or anything like that. “no, no, i’m okay, i promise. it’s just been a long day, i’m not too tired to talk or anything.” she began playing with her fingers, hoping that doing so would help keep her mind occupied when she wasnt talking or listening so she could stay awake and not get any more tired.

“i really like talking to you, i don’t want you to leave just because i’m a little sleepy. if i get too tired or something though, i’ll let you know.” she would’ve left it at that, but of course the insecure part of her mind was thinking that maybe heejun was trying to take her yawning as an opportunity to get out of here and away from her. “unless you wanna leave though, i don’t want to make you feel like i’m forcing you to stay.” if heejun wanted to leave, she wouldn’t object. she would bid him goodbye and hope to see him again soon, but if he wanted to stay, then she would continue to talk to him. it didn’t matter either way, just as long as she had a chance to see him again. “you’re not too tired or anything either, right?”

    park miyeon

( imagine if kai takes her terrible dancing as an opportunity to dance with her to "teach" her so they just end up slow dancing together after the mess that is kai teaching her wow that's so cute i love making myself suffer )

it felt nice to sit with kai, hands lightly intertwined, talking about their near futures and how they're both scared to jump into the working adult world. it was extremely reassuring to miyeon, hearing that her worries and doubts aren't as much of an issue as she's making them out to be. it was relaxing, miyeon could probably fall asleep right then and there. it'd probably be a little awkward, but she'll stay awake, just so she could be with kai a little longer. "yeah, you're right." miyeon agreed to kai's points, giving small nods. "all this schoolwork looks so intimidating, i'll probably be a lot better off once it's all done." she said, trying to reassure herself as well. miyeon was one to over-stress when work started to pile up, especially when she's given everything at once. she's always been so busy with work lately, miyeon probably won't realize how great she'll feel when everything is over. that's the hope, anyway.

when kai asked her if she was tired, she never really noticed how tired she might've looked. that party in itself was exhausting, there's only so much socializing miyeon can do in one night, even though she's been seen as the social butterfly. shaking her head, miyeon blinked. "no, i'm fine, don't worry." she reassured him. it was cute to hear him worry about keeping her here, he's way too kind. even if he was holding her here to talk to her all night, miyeon really wouldn't mind at all. as soon as he mentioned a movie, miyeon tilted her head. a movie sounded nice, and miyeon really didn't want to go home just yet. even though she knew she'd have to go home eventually, but not now, if she can help it. "a movie sounds nice," she said softly, not trying to interject and interrupt kai.

like her tiredness, miyeon also didn't notice her light headache until kai mentioned it. that loud music really did have an effect on her, and not in a good way. it wasn't a terrible headache, but getting away from extremely loud noises is what she probably needed. "yeah, we could watch a movie, if that's okay." she agreed with a smile. movies were great time wasters, and miyeon absolutely loved watching movies all the time. scary movies, romantic comedies, she loved them all. "what kind of movies do you like to watch?" she asked him, trying to fill the empty space before an actual movie was pulled up on the television. plus, it was crutial to know what his favorite movies were. she'd still like him regardless of what his answer is, but it was still an important piece of information.

    lim heejun

it made sense, knowing that miyeon and soojin have been best friends for as long as they have. heejun wished he'd met kai earlier, but at least they were already best friends after such a short amount of time. but what surprised him was how nobody except soojin reached out to miyeon. almost everyone here either knows or talks to miyeon, but kids in school barely talked to her? tough crowd. "that's good, at least you reached out to her. i couldn't imagine being a new kid in school in a new country and not having someone always there to talk to. and you guys look like the perfect pair, i don't think i can see you two with different best friends, even though i just met you today." heejun meant what he said as a compliment, but it did sound a bit creepy in retrospect.

soojin told heejun that she was fine, but something told heejun that he shouldn't believe that too much. he was certain that she wassgetting more tired, but if she insists to stay awyke, that's her choice. "okay, but if you ever want to get some sleep, let me know, okay? you shouldn't be staying up too late because of me, i won't let you do that to yourself." it was a rather bold statement, but he meant it in good heart. he heard her question if he wanted to leave, which immediately recdeved various "no"s coming from heejun. "no no no, it's okay. i've been drinking a small amount of alcohol, i'll have enough energy for the next few hours, which gives us more tha enough time." even if he wasn't going to admite it, he already thought of a time and way to tell soojin to get some sleep, just so he'll know she'll get some good rest.

when she questioned his want to stay with her, heejun her with a confused look. "i'm okay, and it's your house at the end of the day. or night, in this case." in a way, he was technically spending a night with her. it's just that the only times he's "spent the night" at a girl's house, it was only for a fling. actually talking wasn't uncommon, but having to wait for something more news is what was interesting. "it's okay! i'm just making sure everything is okay." heejun replied to her, his smile never fading.

    wang kai

    (( that’s so cute :,)

i’m very convinced that you love to make me and yourself suffer ))

kai felt rather relieved to hear that miyeon was okay and not too tired to stick around and keep talking to him. it probably sounded really selfish, but he loved talking to her and just having her around. he really didn’t want her to leave just yet, not when he was finally starting to build up more confidence and comfort as time ticked by. “i won’t worry too much, i promise.” he mumbled in reply, squeezing her hand softly. for a moment, he had forgotten that they were holding hands, it had just felt so natural and so normal that it was as if they weren’t even doing it. he could really get used to doing small, cute things like that with her. holding hands, talking about their worries; kai was really hoping that it was all a start to more intimate things between them. and with a date coming up eventually, he felt like it wouldn’t take too long until they got more comfortable with eachother and were able to progress things. and even though he was eager for this progression, kai would still take things slow. he didn’t want to rush and possibly ruin things between them, and he would always be sure to respect miyeon’s limits and never go out of her comfort zone. he liked her way too much to even chance making her upset or angry or uncomfortable.

when the conversation shifted to watching movies, kai felt himself smile. as much as he liked talking to her, he could tell she was getting tired and still had a headache from the party, so watching a movie will hopefully not consume as much of her energy as talking did and hopefully also take her headache away. plus, kai just really liked watching movies, especially with cute girls, so this was a win-win situation. “oh, i like any kind of movie really, i’m not too picky. as long as it’s entertaining, i can usually get into it.” he replied, but still thought about what types of movies he really liked. he knew he liked a few sci-fi movies he saw, but that was never really a genre he was in the mood to watch. it that type of movie was on, he would watch it, but never went out of his way to find one to watch.

“but i think action movies and romantic comedies are my favorite. i just think action movies are really cool, i’ve liked them since i was a kid. i always picture myself in the main characters shoes, just doing really cool stunts and stuff like that.” usually, kai would be too embarrassed to confess something like that to a girl, but he felt comfortable around miyeon. like he could really be himself. and besides, if she didn’t like his more childish side, then things wouldn’t work out for them, and he figured it was better off to find that out early on rather than later. it would hurt a lot less that way. “and romantic comedies are just nice, i think it’s the kind of genre anyone can like. like there’s super cute movies, and movies that should probably just be called comedy movies.” he shrugged, leaning forward to grab the remote off of the table. he figured he could turn the tv on while they chose what type of movie to watch. “what about you, what kind of movies do you like?”

kai glanced up at the tv, but still made sure he would be able to hear her. just because he was pulling up the long list of movies they could choose from didn’t mean he didn’t want to concentrate on her answer. besides, it was a rather important answer since that would help them narrow down the list of movies they could watch tonight. “like i said, i like just about any kind of movie, so even if you don’t like romantic comedies or action movies, we’ll still be able to find something we’ll both like.”

    kwon soojin

soojin nodded in understanding at heejun’s statement, she had always felt as if she wouldn’t be able to be best friends with anyone other than miyeon, at least not be as close with anyone else as she was with her, so to hear that heejun was able to see that the two of them wouldn’t be able to have the same kind of friendship with someone else wasn’t too surprising. even if he had just met her and hadn’t heard much about her friendship with miyeon, sometimes it was just easy to tell how easily two people got along and how much they genuinely loved and cared for one another. and it was kind of funny really, he saw that in her and miyeon and she saw that in him and kai.

the topic of friendship was changed to making sure they weren’t too tired to stay up and keep talking to eachother, and soojin didn’t mind at all. she was just glad that heejun cared enough to check on her to make sure she wasn’t getting tired, just like she cared enough to check on him. besides, it wouldn’t be any fun to talk to someone who was falling asleep. it was a good thing they were checking on eachother. “i’ll let you know if i need some sleep, and you let me know if you need some sleep, okay?” that sounded like a pretty fair deal. and she was also pretty happy to hear that thanks to the alcohol he had been drinking earlier that he still had some energy left in him. as much as she knew they would eventually have to part ways, she was really enjoying talking to him and wanted to spend as much time with him as she could. maybe it was a bit weird, it was only their first time talking, but she already felt attached to him in a way. like they were really meant to meet tonight and become good friends.

“let’s not talk too much about being tired though, i feel like we’ll jinx ourselves and end up getting super tired just from talking about it.” soojin shifted a bit, thinking about what else they could talk about since they had pretty much gone over the basics now. she never really talked to someone this much after first meeting them before, so this was pretty new territory for her. she didn’t want to reveal too much about herself or anything like that, because then wouldn’t future conversations be bland? befriending new people wasn’t an easy thing for her, but she was very glad that heejun seemed like an absolute angel and would understand this and go along with any boring topic she came up with.

“besides, i’m sure there’s way more interesting things to talk about besides worrying about being tired and stuff.” she let out a soft laugh, shaking her head at her own dumb self. sometimes, she couldn’t believe how dumb and embarrassing the things she said could be. it was as if she wanted to see herself make friendships fail before they ever even started. “like, how we both have best friends who aren’t from here. it’s cool that they’ve got to see such different places, but have you ever traveled to another country or anything like that?”

    park miyeon

( i just love coming up with cute lil scenarios that just conveniently end up making us suffer! )

he liked any type of movie too? wow, they really were made for each other, huh. excited, she smiled. "really? i'm the same way," she commented, sitting more upright to watch kai as he went to turn the television on to pick the movie. if she was going to be spending more time with kai, which she hopes she does, movie nights would be something that she'd never get tired of. and now that she knows he can handle any genre, their options are pretty much limitless.

shifting in her seat, miyeon was now huddled in the corner of the couch, leaning against the arm rest with her feet neatly tucked underneath her. that was her favorite place in any seat, really. she'd much rather be huddled up than sit "regularly" in a seat. Couches and cozy chairs aren't used to their full potential if you just sit in them like you do every other chair. when kai told her about him imagining himself in action movies, she couldn't help but giggle out loud, softly. imagining him imagining himself n some badass action movie, saving the day was a good sight, it could even be called cute.

after he talked about romantic comedies, he asked about her favorite movies. miyeon really didn't have a preference at all. "well, i'm not too picky, either. if i'm ever bored, i just look for a recent movie that looks interesting." she started, watching him skim through the selection of movies. "i would say i have a preference, but it's never consistent. my preferences come and go a lot. i guess it depends on my mood." she questioned, feeling bad about her not giving him a definite answer to help him. thinking, miyeon thought about what to suggest. she shouldn't just flat out recommend a romantic comedy, would that be weird? well, they literally just confessed to each other and this is the first activity together since, forever, really. she could go safe and recommend action since that's what he likes, but what if he thinks she's trying to hard to impress him, or cater to him? she didn't want to give him any bad impression he may develop.

she could always go for a recent one? "have you seen any ones being advertised recently that look interesting?" she asked him. with as much work as they've been given, hopefully kai's found some free time to watch enough tv to catch a preview or advertisement at some point. miyeon has seen a few, but nothing really stuck with her enough to be classified as "interesting."

    lim heejun

( sehyoon/heejun and his little plushie goodness gracious i love a whole baby )

heejun was happy to know that soojin would easily tell him if she was ever feeling like she needed to sleep. this was her room, after all. she can basically kick him out at any time, but she's being extremely welcoming, it's hard for him to not like her already. even if things didn't work out with miyeon and kai, would it still be acceptable for heejun and soojin to be friends? hearing her terms of agreement regarding them being tired, heejun nodded. "of course, that sounds fair." he commented. for heejun, he really hoped soojin would be the one to say she's getting tired first. it's not that he didn't like talking to her, but because of heejun's previous drinking, he probably won't feel tired until his head hits the pillow. he also doesn't want to stay up too late for soojin's sake. she'll probably try to stay up as late as she can for heejun, but the dumb boy probably won't ever take a hint and pretend to be tired just so she can get to sleep.

after that, heejun couldn't help but think about how things got a little awkward. they were both so quiet, as if they were just searching for something to talk about. but what? normally, heejun could maintain a conversation after it started, but somehow it just felt different here. maybe it's because of him literally being in the room of his roommate's crush, with her best friend, but something about this situation made heejun lost for words, or conversation topics. heejun's actually not the most social person. he's very independent and keeps to himself about a lot of things. even his clothing doesn't make him stand out among a crowd, even tonight. black skinny jeans and a lightly over-sized shirt, heejun's not really one for breathtaking styles. well, when he's not trying.

when soojin started to lightly laugh with her words, heejun did the same, nodding in agreement. "yeah, that's true." he commented, letting his mind go wild. he desperately wanted to find a topic to talk about, but nothing seemed to come up. luckily, soojin came up with one. this time, it was about travelling. here's where heejun sounds like an absolute bum, right? "well, let me think." he laughed, giving a cute, little smile as his eyes looked down at his hands. "i've been to japan once, on a school trip, but i don't really think that counts as one of those 'fun' trips. it was all about history and we had to learn the entire time. and as a kid, it was especially terrible since all i wanted to do was have fun." heejun explained with a regretful laugh. he wasn't a bad kid, he was just one of those kids who always wanted to have fun, and that wasn't bad, right?

now thinking back on how odd of a kid he was, heejun's cheeks were turning a bright pink, instantly regretting telling soojin about his reluctance to actually like his only overseas adventure because it wasn't as fun as he'd hoped. luckily, as heejun grew older, he learned to appreciate the trip he went on, but his actions as a kid still haunted him every time he talked about it. "what about you? what kind of travelling have you done?" he asked, respectively. soojin seems like a traveler, as odd as it may sound. she either sounds like someone who's traveled to a lot of places or she'd be the best travel buddy ever. if she tells him she's actually never traveled, heejun would surely be in for a surprise.

    wang kai

    (( rip to us then!

also i was thinking that maybe a timeskip should happen soon, just so we’re not dragging this all on? i know you said that it would be cute if miyeon ended up falling asleep on kai’s shoulder and heejun walks in on it the next morning, so i was thinking that those two would just end up falling asleep while watching the movie and maybe heejun could end up just accidentally falling asleep at soojin’s place so that could be the reason heejun doesn’t return to his and kai’s dorm until the morning? unless you had another idea of course !! i was just throwing an idea out ))

kai perked up a bit upon hearing that miyeon wasn’t picky with her taste in movies. it wasn’t like he ever imagined her to be the type of person who was super picky and specific with their tastes, but it was nice to see that they had more in common than he had originally thought. plus, if she wasn’t picky with things, it would be much easier to impress her, which was always good on his end.

he listened as she went on to say that she usually ends up watching recent movies, that was understandable. they were usually the movies that were found the easiest, plus you could always talk about the movie with others if you wanted, since most people watched recently released movies. “yeah, i totally get that. like, if i’m really happy i’m not going to purposefully go and find a sad movie, why would i ruin my good mood like that?” he shook his head softly to try and emphasize his words, glancing back at the screen as she asked if he saw any interesting looking movies that were recently released. “mhm, there were a few ads that i’ve seen on youtube that looked pretty good.” kai began to look through the list of options they had, in search of some movies that he had seen advertised. surprisingly, there wasn’t any ads for movies that instantly made him bored or think it looked dumb; everything looked pretty decent from their ads. he just hoped that was a reflection of how the movies actually were.

“there’s this horror movie i saw being advertised recently, it actually looks scary.” he mumbled, glancing over at miyeon and deciding that now wasn’t the best time to watch a horror movie. sure, they would probably end up basically cuddling if one of them claimed that they were scared and wanted to be held or something, but wasn’t it just a little too soon to try something like that? and besides, it was pretty late, and kai didn’t need any jumpscares keeping him awake for the rest of the night, that would be super embarrassing. “there’s this other movie though, it’s this super interesting romantic comedy, we should watch that. it was actually just made into a korean movie, it was originally a chinese movie and i’ve seen that version, but we can watch this new version without any subtitles or anything for you.” with this option, he already knew he was choosing something actually worth watching and not accidentally choosing something that miyeon would probably hate. plus, he had been wanting to watch this more modern version of a movie he had grown up loving, so in his eyes, this was a perfect choice. as soon as he found it, he turned to miyeon and smiled a bit. “so do you wanna watch it? i promise it’s not super cheesy or predictable or anything.”

(( at first i thought the plushie was a penguin because i didn’t see the top part of it’s head and i was like ‘where’s it’s eyes ??’ i’m blind lmao

but he is honestly just so cute, i just want to cuddle him ))

soojin was glad that their conversation continued on smoothly. it was as if no awkward silence had ever occurred. she listened to what he had to say, genuinely curious about any stories he had about his travels, she even smiled just a bit wider upon seeing him flash a rather cute smile, not that she could ever say that to his face. at least not now anyways. she occasionally nodded as he spoke to show that she was listening, letting a soft laugh replace her silence as he mentioned thinking the trip was horrible because he spent his time learning. soojin could only imagine how adorable a little heejun was, wanting to go off and explore but instead being stuck learning about something he didn’t care about at the time. was it weird to imagine something like that? hopefully not. but she really couldn’t help it, especially seeing him now blushing over the memory.

“me? well, i’ve been to jeju a few times, i have some family that lives there.” soojin hummed softly in thought, wanting to produce a more interesting story than going just barely off the coast. heejun had gone to a whole different country and all she had said was that she went to an island that was still part of their country, didn’t that make her sound boring? “but i’ve never really been further than that. i really want to travel though, i’ve actually planned to take a year after graduation to just travel to as many places as i can possibly afford. i don’t really mind what the destination is, i feel like i can have fun anywhere for the most part. but japan is one place i’m for sure saving up to go to, i’ve always thought it looked super pretty from all the pictures and videos i’ve seen. and i know japanese, i think it would be cool to talk to people who are also fluent.” she shrugged, feeling boring again. she was sure that heejun didn’t want to listen to her ramble on about her dreams of traveling. “greece too, i’ve wanted to go there since i was really young. i’m just interested in the culture and stuff.” soojin made sure to keep it short and simple, her cheeks starting to slowly turn pink from how she thought she could be perceived as boring.

“what about you, what places do you want to see one day?” she asked, tilting her head slightly, purely curious as to what his answer would be. did he want to go to New york city and be surrounded by crowds of people or did he want to go to france and try famous foods? where people wanted to travel said a lot about a person, at least it did in soojin’s eyes. “oh, and you should tell me about what japan was like! even if you said it was totally boring to you as a kid because it was educational, i’m sure there was at least one fun thing you did there, right?”

( i feel so bad for this post because it's literally nothing and you're such an angel for bearing with me! i promise i'm still alive and (kinda) well and i haven't lost any interest in this thread! school's just been kicking my butt lately and it's suuper draining. i actually just got back from "fall break" (which was literally 1 day, why.) but i had like 0 motivation to do anything at all, which is kinda why i didn't actually post anything for my characters. i don't want to give you a crappy post after like 2 weeks of not replying, and i didn't want to keep you waiting any longer while i try to regain my muse, and honestly i have no clue when that'll be. moral of the story: school sucks.

also, that'd definitely work! i feel like we should get this story movin along so it's not too boring for us most of the time. if you want, you can do that with your next post, i'd be fine with that! also, it'd be reaally ironic if heejun and soojin fell asleep playing scrabble lmao )
