wang kai
seeing miyeon in his dorm was a weird sight. well, not weird, just different. girls never really came over, there was never really a reason for them to come over; there were plenty of other, much better places to hang out with friends, and kai would’ve taken miyeon to one of those places if it wasn’t so late at night. but considering what time it was, they were stuck settling for the dorm, and it was a whole new feeling that came with seeing miyeon in the dorm. and when she sat down, the feeling only increased. he felt almost like all of this wasn’t real, like it was just a dream; after all, up until tonight, his dreams were the only time he ever talked to miyeon.
hearing her voice snapped kai out of his thoughts though, and he sincerely hoped that she didn’t catch him staring at her for a few seconds while he got lost in thought. or, if she did, he hoped that she wouldn’t mention it. when he realized that she was asking about his major, his face lit up with excitement. kai didn’t know about anyone else, but he got genuine happiness out of talking about what he had spent the past four years studying and what he hoped his future would consist of. people didn’t ask about that kind of stuff often though, so when the topic did come up, kai was more than eager to talk. well, more eager to talk than usual, with was really eager.
“i’m going to be a teacher.” kai really liked phrasing it that way rather than saying ‘my major is this’ or something like that, he was so close to graduation and saying that he was actually going to be a teacher made it seem more real, more exciting. “not like a high school teacher or anything, a kindergarten teacher. little kids are just so cute and there’s so much more stuff to learn than math and history and stuff like that, kids that age need to learn stuff like how to read and write and how to be polite, stuff that will actually stick with them forever.” he shrugged, nervously glancing around for a moment. was this boring for miyeon? “i just really liked the idea of teaching people that kind of stuff, plus i really like kids, so i decided to be a teacher.”
kai shifted around a bit, hoping that he didn’t lose miyeon’s interest. that would just be horrible. looking at miyeon though, it didn’t seem like he lost her interest though, which was a huge relief. “hey, miyeon, can i admit something? you just... promise that you won’t think any differently of me?” it felt weird, not admitting his feelings or at least saying something about liking her. he felt like he was making it beyond obvious, and now all he wanted to do was admit how he felt. he was just afraid that she wasn’t going to return his feelings and not want to hang out with him anymore. even if she didn’t like him like that, he at least wanted to be her friend. but even as a friend, he felt like he wasn’t lying to her if he was keeping his feelings a secret. “it’s nothing bad though, i realize that made it sound like i was about to admit i’m a murderer or something.” he let out a dry laugh, tilting his head as he looked at her. “but, can you promise?”

kwon soojin
soojin just stared at heejun for a moment as he told her that his roommates name was kai. as much as she thought it was impossible for something like this to happen, she was sure it was happening. somehow, she had met the roommate of the guy that her roommate had a cute little crush on. “heejun.” she spoke softly, trying to give him a moment to realize what she had realized. but a second later, she just couldn’t hold her thoughts in anymore. it was just too exciting of an occurrence to keep quiet about. “our roommates like eachother. my miyeon likes your kai, your kai likes my miyeon.”
she leaned a bit closer to him, her smile growing as she kept realizing what all of this meant. kai and miyeon had been talking at the party and it seemed like it was going well. maybe something would come out of that. hopefully something did come out of that. kai was exactly the kind of guy that miyeon deserved and it sounded like miyeon was the kind of girl that kai deserved. and the idea of them actually getting together after finally chatting at the party was super exciting.
“our roommates are totally going to be dating.” soojin nodded, as if she was completely sure that’s what was going to come out of this. it was more of a wish, but she really did see something coming out of them talking and looking so happy together and having cute crushes on one another. “isn’t that exciting? they’ll finally be with the person they’ve had crushes on forever, and they’ll be a really cute couple, don’t you think? i mean, miyeon is super pretty, kai is attractive too there’s no denying that, they’re going to be the it couple on campus, this is so exciting.”
soojin was never really one to care about other people’s relationships, as long as people were happy and experiencing a healthy relationship, she never really paid much attention to it or had an opinion on it. but this wasn’t just any person potentially in a relationship, this was her best friend potentially dating the boy that she had been blushing cutely over just the mention of his name. it was so exciting to think that miyeon was finally going to get what she deserved.
“that means we’ll probably see eachother a lot more after tonight, if they do end up together.” soojin hummed softly, taking a moment to realize that it wasn’t just the idea of miyeon finally talking to kai that had her excited. she was also happy about the idea of getting to see heejun more often, spend more time with him. she had already enjoyed every second she had spent with him so far, minus getting his drink spilled on her, so the idea of getting to spend more time with him just sounded really nice. “that’s exciting, right?” she spoke more softly now, leaning back and nervously playing with her fingers, hoping that heejun had the same happiness over the idea of seeing eachother again that she had.
