So Rivendell to Erebor... Are they going through Mirkwood? It would be cool if they could hit at least one city per species (Rivendell=elves, Erebor=dwarves, etc.)

Oh they are definitely going through Mirkwood. Thranduil is not going to be too happy about it and will probably cause them some problems along the way. Erebor is also going to be difficult for them because they are literally heading there just to take away the Arkenstone, which the dwarves are not going to hand over without a fight. Erebor is also not that far from Mordor, so a legion of orcs will definitely attack them while they are there (remember that scene when Gimli suggests to get help from the dwarves and Legolas says war is already on their lands?? Our group will be there lol). However, I don't want the journey to just end at Erebor. I want them to continue traveling. They obviously have to bring the Silmarils to a safe location but idk where yet. Thoughts?
-
I'll let you two decide, because I don't know the locations well enough to determine what would be a good, safe place. -
Would Lorien be a safe place? Maybe Moria?
-
Lothlorien would be the safest place since Moria was overrun by orcs. Maybe they should bring the Silmarils to Galadriel who will take it to the Valar when she leaves for Valinor. According to a prophecy, once the Silmarils are recovered by the Valar the Two Trees of Valinor will be revived and their light will fill Arda again in a new age of eternal bliss. The goal of the fellowship is to make that prophecy come true.
-
That sounds good to me!
-
Same over here.

Ok!
Also, I was thinking that maybe they will get involved in many "side quests" which will prolong their journey. I envision them running into Gandalf quite a number of times and he sending them on these "side quests". The first time they run into him will be funny cause he will be like "so the fellowship of the ring was divided, the three hunters (aragorn, legolas, and gimli) are currently with the king of Rohan, if you do not help out in the battle of helms deep then they will probably all die before I get there, also I am now Gandalf the white." But yeah I think they should participate in some of the major battles in the series, such as the Battle of Helms Deep, Battle of the Pelennor Fields, and Battle of the Black Gate.

totally forgot this was a thing so ignore me if you want.I'm so almost finished with my elf's form. I'm just really stuck on her history right now, so if anyone has any ideas I'm open to hearing them.
-
Everyone: Gandalf!!
Gandalf: Y’all need to go here and fight off some monsters or Middle Earth is gonna die.
Everyone: ...
I like the idea of side quests! I know Smaug is dead by now, but maybe they run into some other dragon or beast like that somewhere? Another idea would be a natural disaster occurs while they’re travelling or staying in a town, and the fellowship has to save everyone there.
rinny [ hiatus ] when I make a history for a character, I like to look at their personality and traits and write the history based on that. Why are they brave? Why are they selfish? Why are they scared of the dark? That kind of gives me a skeleton to work on, then I flesh that out with other things :)
-
Lmao exactly! 😂
rinny [ hiatus ] Basically what Baratheon said! I also relied a lot on the LOTR Wiki
cause I do not remember every single detail about the worldand depending on what year/age the character was born in and what race they are I would search up what that specific race was doing during that age. According to your form, Phyrra is in her early 100s, meaning she was born during the Third Age. Here is a link that tells you major events that occurred during the Third Age: -
Leia, should I edit Piranus' form to have a birth date? I know I put his age but everyone seems to be going the route of putting the exact birth date, too.
-
I unfortunately don't know much of the LOTR I've watched a few of the movies but not recently, so feel free to mention if something my charries do is inaccurate, besides that I'm totally open to the fellowship to run into Ren's family, i.e. they go onto the land that his father over sees. I'm assuming that they have a sort of thing where each town or region has a lord that rules over it, but let me know for sure.
-
Jenner You can if you want to!
No problem Ech0
And each kingdom of Men is made up of towns, so it would make sense if each one were ruled by a lord who reports to the king. The two most prominent kingdoms during the LOTR series are Gondor and Rohan. Ren's father can be a lord from one of those kingdoms
-
Rohan tickles my fancy so, let's go with that.

Thanks, updated.

Alrighty so my LOTR incompetence is showing buttt, I have a question, when they form the fellowship where is it and would it be the sort of thing where
A) a lone traveler would go to if he were severely injured and needed to be healed
and
B) A place where said traveler might wander up to wherever the fellowship is being formed crash the party and somehow end up becoming one of them by sheer luck of being in the right place at the right time?
Also on a side note, an idea for the fellowship being picked could be that those involved have to pass the test, i.e. to be part of the fellowship, they need to be able to hold it and that's how they are deemed worthy of the quest.
-
Ech0 So the fellowship will be formed during the Council of Elrond which is a meeting that will take place in Rivendell, which is an Elven town. That is the same meeting where the Fellowship of the Ring was created in the book/movies. In the book, some of the members received dreams that told them to go to Rivendell to take part in the journey to destroy the ring. I was envisioning the same thing happening for this fellowship, however, I am fine with Ren being one of the members who kind of just stumbles their way into the group. Rivendell is the best place for someone to go to if they are severely injured and needed to be healed.
