Calian felt himself grit is teeth; his veins visible on his forehead. Everything that happened next was in slow motion.

The hybrid walked up to the vampire, grabbed his arm, and turned him around. He then swiftly raised his fist and punched him square in the jaw. He then tackled him to the ground and threw another punch. And another. And another.

he couldn't help it. He was a wolf/vampire protecting his mate. He was a human protecting his friend. He was a boy filled with anger. Werewolves were notorious for their temperamental issues.

Nothing could stop him except maybe his sister. The male was going full psycho on this vampire. He even wrapped his hands around his throat with the intention to kill. He got up in his face and screamed; spittle flying. You could clearly see his fangs.

No one touched his Jared.

No one.

Mason could see the girl seething after he kissed her friend. He could understand why she'd be jealous, but she had no reason to be. She was the only one on his mind.

But then he saw her kiss another girl. It didn't turn him on like it would with most guys. Instead, it just angered him. He didn't like watching the way they touched each other. The way she seemed to enjoy it...

Deciding it was best to look away, he did just that. He refused to watch the whole entire scene.

When she went so sit back down, he saw Katherine being friendly. It made him feel uneasy. What was she planning? Best to stop her now before anything else happened.

Walking forward, Mason grabbed Katherine's arm and yanked her up before leading her into the other room.

"Leave her alone." He warned; baring his fangs. He wouldn't let her ruin this for him. He hadn't felt this way since the 1800's.

"She doesn't even want me. Just leave her out of this." Judging by the way she ignored him, she didn't feel the same way. So Katherine should just back off, right?

That's when he heard a commotion near the stairwell. A fight, maybe?

Ignoring Katherine, he went to check out what was happening. That's when he saw the other Cullen beating the shit out of Edric. The crowd had moved around the pair; hollering and cheering them on.

He had to say, he was glad that Edric had finally gotten the beating he deserved. But he was afraid for Calian. Who knew how Katherine would react?

Nicole noticed the way Aiyana seemed to be fuming at the ears. She wanted to ask if she was alright, but then she spun the bottle instead. She decided she'd ask her later.

When the bottle landed on a girl, her best friend got this mischievous look in her eye that made Nicole gasp.

She then watched as she made out with the stranger like they were alone in a bedroom. Nicole thought she knew everything about her best friend, but it seemed she didn't.

When she came back to sit next to her, she whispered, "You're into girls now, huh?" She then giggled and linked arms with her again.

When Katherine offered them a drink, Nicole rudely turned her down. She got a bad vibe from the girl.

That's when the hot guy that kissed her earlier walked up and dragged her away. Huh. Maybe they were an item? Then again he handled her pretty roughly. So maybe not.

That's when everyone heard a scream and a groan. The crowd went silent for a moment before quickly moving into the other room.

"Uh oh." Nicole said as she stood with Aiyana. The two then walked into the room to find Calian punching the lights out of some guy.

"Oh fuck. Cal!" Nicole cried out, but he didn't seem to hear her.

"Aiyana, you have to stop him." She said with tears in her eyes. She knew that she was the only one who could.

Aiyana laughed at Nicole's words, her eyes twinkling. She stared at the girl with hungry eyes. The girl blushed deeply and looked away sheepishly. Aiyana leaned back, waiting for the next person to go. She guessed it was going to be the girl next to her but then she was yanked up by the male that had been staring at her. The two seemed to be having a heated argument. Aiyana rolled her eyes and took a drink of the whiskey, sighing deeply. That's when she heard screaming and commotion. The hybrid's eyes widened. She knew it was Calain, she could just tell based on the scream. She jumped to her feet and bolted over to the doorway, seeing what was happening. Her twin was beating the shit out of a vampire they had seen a while ago. Aiyana groaned, throwing her head back in annoyance. "Nicole, grab Jared and get him so water. He needs to sober up." Aiyana said and then gave her friend's hand a reassuring squeeze. She needed Jared and Nicole out of the way just in case something bad happened.

Aiyana sprinted over to her brother and grabbed him with a grunt, yanking him off the vampire. "Enough, Cal!" Aiyana boomed, her eyes glowing golden as she turned her brother to face her with a snarl. Her alpha commands boomed and she clenched her jaw, panting heavily. She spun around as she felt someone else nearby and she saw the blonde from earlier launch at her brother. Aiyana snarled, her fangs protruding before she sent her flying back into a wall with her hybrid strength. She growled lowly, standing protectively in front of her brother like an alpha would her pack. She snarled, her lips curling in anger. The two vampires and the two hybrids were in a stand off. There was snarling and growling and blood red eyes on one side and gold eyes on the other. "Come near my brother, I'll break your neck, bitch." Aiyana snapped, in a pounce, ready for a fight at any moment.

The human boy was being dragged off by a handsome man one moment and then he was released and he frowned. Jared turned to see what had happened and he just saw Calain in top of the man from before and was beating the crap out of him. Jared let out a startled gasp, stumbling backwards. He was too drugged up to think straight. His entire head began to spin and he groaned, holding his head. He yelled loudly, due to all the noise that seemed to be drowning him out. Jared began to panic as his high became drastically different. He felt his body move like a noodle and he seemed to have no control over himself. He wanted out, now. That's when Nicole grabbed him and dragged him away and he almost immediately felt safer.

The blonde vixen smiled and then groaned as she felt Mason's tight grip on her arm as he yanked her up. She threw her head back like a dramatic child as he dragged her to the other room. Her red eyes met his as she crossed her arms over her chest, her lips forming a pout. When he bared his fangs at her, Katherine turned into the icy bitch she usually is. She snarled, her eyes narrowing at him. "Does it look like I give a shit? You're interested in her, which makes her competition for me. That is not cool with me." Katherine barked as she bared her fangs at him as well. That's when she heard all the commotion. She saw that stupid mutt of a Cullen boy beating the shit out of her brother. Her older sister instincts kicked in and she shoved past Mason. She sprinted toward the boy as he was pulled from Edric by his sister. When Aiyana spun around, the hybrid threw Katherine into a wall. Katherine crashed into the wall, breaking glass and some of the drywall. The vampire stood quickly and snarled, her fanged bared as they had a stand off.

Edric was having fun and then he felt himself being grabbed and thrown to the ground. He didn't like that, not at all. Edric snarled at the hybrid above him as he punched him with such anger. He blocked a few hits and got a few good hits in himself but he simply didn't mat the hybrid's anger. He wasn't fighting for a mate like Calain was. The vampire snarled and heard the entire party holler and chant for them to fight and he rolled his eyes. When he felt the boy pulled from him by Aiyana, he stood quickly. He watched as his sister launched at the little wolf and then Aiyana threw her into a wall. He raised an eyebrow. He couldn't lie, he was impressed. Edric snarled as they all took defensive positions, all glaring at each other.

When Calian was pulled off of the vampire, he seemed to come to his senses. Then the other vampire pounced at him, but Aiyana threw her into the wall.

Calian stood beside his sister; his golden eyes flashing. He was growling and ready to fight if necessary. His fists were clenched and he was prepared to shift.

But then he saw Jared freaking out by the stairwell and he seemed to realize what he had done.

Staring down at his bloody fists with wide eyes, he whispered, "What have I done?"

Shaking his head, Calian began to back away. Maybe the vampire was right. Maybe he was crazy.

Panting heavily, the hybrid grabbed at his hair and then turned and ran out the front door.

As soon as he reached the forest, he shifted into his wolf form and charged through the dense forestry. He ran and ran and didn't look back. He wasn't sure where he was going, but he needed to get out of there.

When the commotion escalated, Mason decided it was time to step in.

The vampire stood in front of the twins with his fangs bared. He was in a protective stance with his golden eyes glaring at Katherine and Edric.

He then watched as the male twin ran off and into the woods. Which left Mason and the female twin to take care of the other siblings.

Backing up so that he was standing next to the girl, he looked over with a cheeky smile and said, "I didn't catch your name."

Nicole hurried to grab a water bottle before leading Jared out of the house. Maybe some fresh air would do him some good. He seemed to be having a bad high and was tweaking out. Nicole remembered tweaking out while high once. Worst feeling in the world.

"Come on. Let's go for a walk." She said; reaching out her hand for his. She then led him by the edge of the forest. She then handed him the water bottle she had grabbed.

The two walked in silence for a short while until she spoke up, "I miss Jonah."

She she knew that Jared was high as hell and wouldn't be much help, but she figured a normal conversation might make him feel better.

"I just-" Her voice cracked as tears formed in her eyes. "Why do all the guys I like never like me back? Why can't I be good enough? Its like I can never do or say the right thing."

With a heavy sigh, Nicole squeezed Jared's hand and let a single tear slip down her cheek.

The hybrid faltered as she saw her brother run out of the house. She moved to run after them when Katherine grabbed her by the throat and threw her don on the ground. Aiyana let out a roar, her eyes flashing golden as her canines protruded. She swept Katherine off her feet and kicked her back, sending her flying into her brother. Her gold eyes turned to the vampire from before, anger in her eyes. "Make yourself useful and get all the humans out of here." Aiyana snarled as she went running at Katherine. Most of the humans started leaving once they saw the fight getting too serious. Like when Aiyana threw Katherine into the wall. She grunted, punching Edric in the gut and easily evading his hits as she flipped backwards. Katherine screamed at her, her fangs bared. The blonde vampire ran at the hybrid and they launched at each other mid-air and they sank their claws into each other. Aiyana snarled and kicked Edric square in the chest as he came at her. She sent him flying back and through a window. She snarled, throwing Katherine out the window as well. Aiyana turned to face the vampire quickly, her breaths heavy. "Get them out! And make sure no one gets hurt." Aiyana said with pleading eyes. Then she ran out the window at them, shifting midair as she did so. She roared, her canines bare as she snarled at them. As she approached them she licked her lips as she snarled. The two vampires watched her with wide eyes. She ran at them and they snarled, running at her as well. Katherine clawed her ear and Aiyana let out a yelp. Edric bit her hind leg and Aiyana kicked him off with a snarl. She whipped around them once more. She raised her head and let out a bellowing howl. Katherine and Edric looked at her with a snarl before launching at her once more. They clawed and bit and kicked and scratched until Aiyana was bloody. The hybrid let out a yelp as the three of them went down the hill and straight into the river. As she landed in the water, the hybrid changed back into her human form. Aiyana fell in and was underwater for a bout thirty seconds, trying to swim her way to the surface. She coughed violently as she surfaced and groaned, her entire body in pain. Edric and Katherine were already out of the water and nowhere to be seen. Aiyana hissed as she weakly grabbed onto a rock nearby but her grip slipped and she was carried with the strong current. She was thrown underwater a few times and she coughed and fought her body to try and stay above the water but it was very hard. She gasped, the current pulling her underwater. Her hand reached up desperately before her entire body disappeared underwater.

Jared grabbed Nicole's hand, like it was the one thing weighing him down to the world. He took the water gratefully and began to drink, listening to her words. He was too high to make much sense of it so he just wiped the tear from her eye and shook his head with a frown. He squeezed her hand in reassurance and then he wobbled, almost falling. He giggled loudly and then hiccuped. He groaned and fell down to the ground once more. He pointed up at the night sky with some incoherent babbling.

Nicole shook her head when Jared fell over and began pointing at the sky. He really was fucked up.

"You're going straight to bed when we get home." She said with a sad smile. She couldn't believe that tonight was such a mess. So much had happened in a few hours.

Suddenly, Nicole saw something behind a tree. Was that an arm?

Fearing the worst, the girl decided to get a closer look. Her pulse quickened as she moved to stand on the other side of the tree.

What she saw made her heart leap.

"Jonah?" Th girl fell to her knees next to him. Maybe he was just passed out drunk? But he was cold to the touch and... There was blood! He was clearly injured.

"Jonah!" She screamed at the top of her lungs as she began to shake him fervently. "Please... Please wake up... Please!"

His body was limp in her arms. Nicole began to sob into his chest. He couldn't be dead, could he?

Suddenly, there was a group of people surrounding her. It seemed like the entire party.

"Someone call 911!" She screamed as she tried to wake Jonah up.

"Oh God..." Nicole said as tears streamed down her face.

Mason didn't like the fact that she wouldn't let him help. Especially because he knew they wouldn't kill him like they would her.

Turning toward the crowd, he bellowed, "OUT! NOW!"

Most of them left without question, but Mason had to shove the rest out of the house.

That's when thy heard a piercing scream that sent them all running. He didn't even want to know what had happened. He needed to focus on the girl.

He had watched her shift and fight them off, but then she tumbled down the hill and disappeared. The vampire raced after her with his vampire speed only to find her falling beneath the surface of the water.

Mason dove into the river and swam after her. He found her and wrapped his arms around her waist; pulling her above the surface. He then carried her bridal style out of the water; dripping wet and with a stoic expression.

He then gently placed her onto the ground and said, "Are you alright?"

If she didn't wake, he'd have to do mouth to mouth.

The hybrid felt her body pulled from the water and she groaned, her body limp in his arms. She was fighting unconsciousness but the water filling her lungs made it very hard to breathe. She fought her body, her face contorting in pain. She felt her body laid down in some grass by the river and she coughed violently, the water that filled her lungs now emptying out on the grass beside her. she breathed heavy, her body cut and bruised and bloody. She sniffled, her eyes opening. She was breathing heavily from all the pain she was feeling. She looked up at her savior as he spoke.

That stupid vampire she had imprinted on. She groaned and moved to sit up, hissing under her breath. She panted softly, holding a nearby tree for support. She looked at him with exhausted gold eyes. "You need to go. My pack is gonna be here soon and they won't like the sight of you next to their injured Alpha-to-be." Aiyana coughed and groaned in pain, holding her stomach. She panted, her head beginning to spin. She was healing quickly due to her vampire and werewolf side but it was going to take a minute.

The teen boy was doing okay, his high getting better. That's when he saw Nicole walking toward the edge of the hill. He opened his mouth to call out to her but then she screamed at the top of her lungs. Jared sprung up and raced over, nearly slipping down the hill. He saw a body, more specifically Jonah's. The human boy's eyes widened as Nicole began to sob over him. She screamed for someone to call 911 but most of them ran to get away before the cops got here. Jared saw a few people on their phones as they called 911. He turned back to his friend, not saying anything. He just held her and gently rocked her as they waited for the police. He really wasn't excited to deal with the cops this fucked up but there was a body of an injured, if not dead, school mate of his.

Nicole let Jared hold her for a moment while she cried into his shoulder. Jonah was dead. Dead! The only boy she had ever loved.

She never could have prepared herself for this. Things like this just didn't happen in Forks.

"Jared, what do I do? What do I do? Jared- Oh God." She began to babble; unsure of what she was saying herself.

Then, suddenly, Jonah's eyes popped open and he gasped. This made Nicole scream and fall backwards out of Jared's arms.

"Jonah? Oh God, Jonah! You're alive!" She said as she quickly crawled up to him; taking his hand.

He said something under his breath, something too soft for her to hear, so she bent down slightly so that her ear was close to his mouth. "What was that?"

"Vampire." He choked out before his eyes rolled back into his head and he passed out again.

Nicole sat very still for a good minute before glancing at his wound again. Two perfect holes were in the side of his neck.

Vampire? No way. Those didn't exist, right? Then again, the girl he had left with had bright red eyes. But those were just colored contacts, right? Right?

Before she could further process this, the ambulance showed up and put him on the gurney. The police asked her questions, not even seeming to notice Jared. They were much too busy with this almost murder case.

Once they had everything that they needed from her, they sat both of them down and put shock blankets on them. They then handed each of them a cup of coffee. Nicole said a quiet thank you and sipped at it; her arm around Jared.

Where was Aiyana? They all needed to go home. It had been a long Friday night. Actually, it was now Saturday morning.

Grabbing her cell phone, she tried calling her best friend, but she didn't pick up. She called one more time before realizing she wasn't going to pick up.

"I'll just call my mom. She'll come pick us up, Jer." She said before kissing his forehead.

Mason ignored her request and helped her sit up. "I'm not going anywhere."

His golden eyes searched hers and he thought he could see the resistance in them. Why was she pushing him away? Was she afraid? He figured she had never been in love before.

"I'm Mason." He said as a greeting. It was about time they learned each other's names. "Mason Gold."

JJ's paws pounded against the ground as he followed Aiyana's scent trail. After she had howled, the whole pack had heard it. Including the Elder Pack, Jacob's pack. But Rozene had convinced Jacob that the Solstice Pack, the second generation pack, could handle their own.

Liam and Kimberly volunteered to stay behind and take care of Athena while the rest of them raced in the direction that the howl had come from.

The dark gray wolf pelted through the trees until he came up to a rushing river. On the other side, he saw Aiyana leaning up against a tree with a man reaching out to her. By his scent, JJ could tell he was a vampire.

As he reached the river, he didn't stop running. Instead he leapt over the wide river and tackled the vampire from behind. The two went rolling until JJ landed on top.

tell me when, aiyana. i will end him. right here, right now.

Glancing over at Aiyana, he could tell that she was badly injured. That bastard!

Snaking his tongue between his fangs, the male snarled and leaned down until his teeth were close to the vampire's throat.

Rozene leapt after JJ and followed him over the river. The rest of the pack came shortly after.

While JJ tackled the enemy, Rozene looked back at the rest of the pack and ordered, sniff around. see if you find anything unusual and report back to me.

The wolves listened and sniffed around the riverbank, a few males going up the hill. Though they were careful not to be spotted.

Rozene approached JJ and stared at him evenly. keep him down, but don't harm him. not yet. not until we know what is going on.

The female was a natural born leader. Her father had been the alpha before Jacob, after all. Because of this, both Aiyana and Rozene had the power of an alpha. Hence the tension between them. But the day they both turn eighteen, then an alpha will be decided upon and only one will have the power. Rozene intended on it being her.

Flicking an ear toward Ayiana, she stalked up to her and glared; waiting for her to shift and speak to her. She didn't want the vampire being able to hear what they were saying.

Aiyana shifted with a snarl as Rozene tried to takeover the role of alpha. The hybrid was badly injured but she was not about to let the girl command her pack. The wolf stalked toward Rozene, her golden eyes narrowing as she straightened her posture. She flicked her tail in anger before she lifted her head. Aiyana looked over at JJ, her eyes relaxing. "Let him go, he saved me. It was two vampire, siblings. The male went after someone close to Calain and my brother naturally felt threatened. He attacked the vampire and then I stepped in. Calain ran off and I fought both of them. I went into the water, they didn't." Aiyana explained and then she trotted over to JJ. She nudged him off of Mason with a soft gaze and then turned her eyes to Rozene. "If you had let me explain instead of already sending away the pack, they wouldn't be on a wild goose chase." Aiyana snarled at her and then flicked her tail as she walked past her. That's when she looked up and saw the red and blue lights flashing at the top of the hill. She clenched her jaw. She smelled blood, human blood. Jonah's to be exact. Aiyana inhaled deeply. "Everyone be careful that the humans don't see you. I smell human blood and the police are here. Only chase them to the border and then come back. I don't want to risk losing anyone tonight. They're very old and very strong." Aiyana said and then moved toward the scene but made sure to say out of sight. She saw Nicole and how shocked she and she Jared were. Her eyes saddened. If she had protected those humans at the party like she felt she should have, Jonah wouldn't be on his death bed.

Aiyana huffed and trotted back to her pack as they began to gather once more. They had lost the scent when they chased them off a cliff. the two vampires had taken a dive into the raging ocean belong. Aiyana growled lowly and shook out her fur before sitting. "The vampires attacked a human tonight. It's a new scent. Not the siblings and not this one." Aiyana said as she glanced to the side at Mason. "So watch over your shoulder. These new vampires are unpredictable and don't care about our boundaries or territories." Aiyana stood once more and trotted over to Mason before shifting back into her human form. She helped him stand. "Thanks for saving me. I didn't get a chance to thank you." Aiyana said with a soft smile, her hands in her pockets. She gave him a soft gaze and then she turned on her heel, walking over to JJ. She gently caressed his muzzle, glancing back at Mason. Then, she moved with her pack as they headed back to the reserve.

Jared held Nicole close when Jonah woke with a gasp. Jared jumped back, letting out a squeak. He grumbled as the man passed back out and he coiled himself back around Nicole once more. As the ambulance arrived, he panted softly, his eyes wide. They questioned Nicole and he just sat there beside her, the shock blanket wrapped around his thin body. He gulped and looked over at Nicole, trying to force himself to come down so he could be there for her. As he was handed the coffee, he almost chugged it, hoping it would bring him down. He coughed as it scolded his throat but he didn't care. He watched Nicole as she tried to call Aiyana and he frowned softly. "Maybe she got caught up in the fight and once she won, she chased after Calain. I saw him running into the woods a while ago." Jared hiccuped as he leaned into Nicole's arms.

Nicole sighed and leaned her head against Jared's shoulder. "Yeah. Probably."

She figured that Jared was right and that she had gone into the woods to look for Calian, but that didn't make her feel any better. Whoever, or whatever, attacked Jonah was still out there.

She was also slightly, okay, very disappointed that she had just left like that. She just wanted to have a nice time at the party and then have a sleepover with her group of friends. Now it was just going to be her and high off his ass Jared. She just wanted her best friend to hold her and tell her everything was going to be okay.

When her mom pulled up, Nicole helped Jared into the backseat and then sat in the passenger seat.

"So." Her mom began, but she didn't seem to know how to finish.

"Its just Jared staying the night. I'll explain everything in the morning, okay?" Nicole said; rubbing at her tired eyes.

Her mom didn't push it and just drove them home while listening to folk music, as was her favorite. Nicole didn't much like the grinding sound of the fiddle, but she didn't complain.

When they got home, Nicole led Jared upstairs and into her bedroom. She stripped him of his shirt and pants and helped him into the bed. She kissed him on the cheek and then went to the bathroom. She changed into an old band tee and her underwear before turning the shower on. That way Jared couldn't hear her crying.

Taking her phone out, Nicole sent Aiyana a text.

you better have a good explanation for your disappearing act

The girl then continued to cry herself to sleep; her head resting against the wall.

When the pack came back to the reserve, JJ skidded to a halt in front of Aiyana. He then shifted back into his human form and stood with his arms crossed.

When Aiyana shifted back, he began to speak. "We have a new girl who needs a place to stay. She's from a pack in Canada. Lone survivor and clearly an omega. She followed the killer's scent to the party..."

He offered a knowing look before continuing, "Also, Calian never came home. He's still out there. And so are these new vampires. You should probably go look for him before your dad does."

Then, seeing how beat up she was, he took her hand in his and offered, "I can come with, if you want. I'm a pretty good tracker. Best in the pack."

He gave a cheesy smile; hoping to lighten the mood. "Afterwards, I'd like for you to come over. I want to talk to you. Seems like forever since we've had alone time."

H lowered his gaze before peeking up at her again; a small smile on his lips.

The hybrid shifted back into her human form as they came back onto the reserve. Aiyana sniffled and hugged herself, trying to play off the bags under her eyes and her injuries. She clenched her jaw, trying to understand what had all happened tonight and why it had happened. She ran a hand through her curled locks and sighed deeply at JJ's words. She smiled softly, playfully punching his arm. "The girl can stay here. We need to make sure we do some research on her pack and try and find someone she could call family. If not, she can join us. I'm sure the boys would love to have another girl in the pack." Aiyana giggled softly at the last part. She rubbed her tired eyes and sighed deeply. "Yeah, come with me. I could use the help. He got freaked out when our friend started having a panic attack because of the fight. Once we get him home and in bed, I can come by. But I can't guarantee that I won't fall asleep." Aiyana smiled warmly as she walked with her friend. He seemed to be the only one who, besides, Calain, she could truly be herself around. He knew who and what she as and held no judgments.

"And don't get any ideas, either. I'm just coming over to hang out. Not make out with you." Aiyana teased as she nudged him with a playful giggle. She walked beside him in silence for a few minutes before she shifted into her wolf form, shaking her fur. She looked back at JJ with a soft gaze before sprinting toward where they had just come from. She strolled past the house where the party had been and she lifted her nose, sniffing the air. She huffed, following the scene. He had taken off running so she did the same. She followed the strong scent and then she came to a trot as the scent became stronger. She kept her eyes peeled for any vampires who might attack her, though she didn't smell any.

JJ couldn't lie, he felt very happy that Aiyana would be coming over afterwards. He hadn't sat down to have a deep conversation with her like they used to in a long time. She had been busy partying and doing drugs while he went hunting with the pack and worked on his motorcycle with her dad.

When Aiyana made her little teasing comment before shifting and running off, JJ scoffed. He then shifted and ran to catch up to her. He then ran himself into her playfully and said, who ever said i wanted to makeout with you?

With that, he sped up so that he was ahead of her. Eventually she caught up and they were back the house which looked absolutely trashed.

She caught the scent before he did, but once he got a whiff, he began to sprint.

JJ sniffed around until he reached a cliff. The dark gray wolf stood behind a tree a little ways back. He then nodded toward Aiyana; nudging her forward. He would give the two of them privacy.

Calian sat on the edge of the cliff; his dark brown fur shifting in the wind. His golden hues stared at the ocean below. The one that the siblings had used to escape. He had run into them on their way out. He almost caught Edric by his throat, but he slipped through his grasp.

He caught the scent of his sister and JJ on the wind before his sister ever made an appearance. He knew that she only brought him for protection and he was grateful that he was giving them privacy.

Without turning around, Calian told her, I lost control today. I scared Jared. I think he hates me. He must think I'm the monster. God, I really fucked up. I was just seeing red and my wolf instincts to protect my mate kicked in and... Oh, Aiyana. I think I've lost him for good.

The russet wolf lowered his head and closed his eyes; his body trembling. He wasn't cold. Werewolves were always so warm. But he was afraid that he had lost someone he never got the chance to have.

Looking back up, Calian huffed and glanced at his sister. do you think he'll forgive me?

The loving sister approached slowly and she sighed softly, taking a spot beside Calain. She sat down beside him and watched the ocean and the way the waves crashed against the rocks below. She felt her reddish grey fur dance in the wind and she gently nudged her brother, her gaze soft and loving. "Cal, he was tweaking already. He doesn't think you're a monster. He could barely even think straight because that vampire drugged him up. But you saved him. That's what you were supposed to do, sweetheart. I would have done the same thing." Aiyana turned her head to the side, to look at her brother. She saw how troubled he was by all of this. She gently nuzzled him, in the way a mother would. She was the mother out of the two of them, they may have been twins but Aiyana took on the older sister role. "Come on, you need to sleep. It's been a long night. For all of us." Aiyana spoke softly and then gently nudged her brother away from the cliff and began to trot back the way they had came.

When they arrived safely back at the reserve, JJ shifted back to his human form. He then nudged Aiyana and led her back to his house.

Calian got inside safely and seemed to go straight upstairs, so there was nothing to worry about there.

As they walked through the reserve, JJ thought about what would happen once they got to his house. He didn't know what they would talk about. Or what they had in common anymore except for the fact that they were both werewolves. Well, she was a hybrid. But nevermind that.

"So. Some party, huh?" He chuckled lightly before wrapping his muscular arm around her shoulders. "I heard you kicked ass back there. Too bad they got away. Would have loved to sink my fangs in those vampires. Especially that blonde bitch."

He shook his head; his dark hair falling into his face. "What was with the police showing up? Are Nicole and Jared okay?"

The werewolf figured that the cops would show up to a party with underage drinking, but there seemed to be one too many red and blue lights. And he hadn't seen Nicole or Jared after everything happened.

Once they reached his house, he opened the back door and put his finger to his lips. His mom, Leah Clearwater-Jones, was still asleep. He wasn't supposed to have anyone over at this hour, but she probably wouldn't mind since it was just Aiyana. But he didn't want to wake her up to find out.

Once they were upstairs, JJ cautiously closed the door behind them before letting out the breath he had been holding.

Turning to her, he gave a lopsided smile and said, "You haven't been in my room for months. Weird, seeing you here again."

Aiyana walked beside JJ for a while in silence before he spoke up, putting an arm around her shoulders. Aiyana giggled softly, not letting him know that his action caused her heart to flutter a little bit. She had had a crush on JJ when they were kids. He was strong yet sensitive and he always seemed to get Aiyana in a way she had never experienced before. Aiyana couldn't deny it now either. She felt that part of her would always have a crush on JJ, if not love. But being a teenager, she had no idea that she loved him. She as too ignorant of her own feelings. Aiyana listened to his words as they walked, running a hand through her golden brown curls. "A vampire attacked a human. He was barely alive. He was Nicole's ex actually. And I called Nicole's mom a little bit ago and she said that Nicole and Jared are safe at her house." Aiyana explained as they walked, a small smile on her face.

Aiyana repressed her giggle as he pressed a finger to his lips as he snuck into his own home. The hybrid gently grabbed his hand as the two of them snuck up to his room. Once there, she turned to face him as he shut the door. She smiled at his words and she sighed, falling back on his bed. Her back hit the soft cushion and her golden brown hair fanned around her sweet face. Her cheeks were flushed and the exhaustion was clear in her eyes. She knew she would be completely healed in a few hours. She just had to wait it out. Aiyana sat up, her curls falling over her shoulders and her pink lips parted. Her golden eyes met his as her heart raced. Part of her wished for him to finally make a move like they had both wanted for so many years. She inhaled shakily, gulping. She saw how handsome he looked in the rising sunlight. He was a piece of art. His dark hair fell over his face and his dark eyes watched her and she never wanting him to look away. She cleared her throat, figuring he wouldn't make a move. She looked to the side with a nervous laugh, biting her bottom lip.

He knew exactly what she wanted by the way she bit her bottom lip and looked anywhere but at him. That was the thing about JJ. He could read Aiyana like an open book.

Part of him wanted her right then and there, but the logical side of him knew better. He knew that t would only end in heartbreak once both of them had imprinted on someone else. Besides, he didn't want to ruin their friendship.

But the way she sat on his bed and looked up at him made him shiver. He was a virgin, believe it or not. He had done oral, yeah, but full on sex? Nope. He was saving it for someone special. But Aiyana was pretty special to him, so...

Swallowing hard, JJ strolled up to his bed and sat next to her; his gaze swiftly flicking up and down her form.

All of his thoughts about Nicole, Jared, Calian... Everyone. They disappeared as he looked at the gorgeous girl in front of him.

He opened his mouth to say something meaningful, something romantic, but nothing came to mind. Instead he just reached forward and tucked a strand of her hair behind her ear. He then let his fingers linger on her cheek; his fingertips tracing her jawline. The air was thick with teenage hormones.

Placing the palm of his hand on her cheek, JJ leaned forward and gently placed his lips on hers. It was their first kiss and it sent fireworks throughout his whole body.

Pulling back slightly, JJ blinked open his eyes and grinned at her. He then leaned forward and kissed her again. His lips began to tingle as he deepened the kiss.

Leaning back again, he let out a soft chuckle. "Did we just ruin the friendship?"

Aiyana felt the air leave her lungs as JJ had moved to sit beside her. She saw him looking at her body from the side glance she gave him and she inhaled deeply, closing her eyes for a moment. When they were children, JJ had been her first kiss. They had been young and had no idea what a kiss meant but they knew it meant that they loved each other. They always promised to marry each other one day when they were children but as they grew up and learned about imprinting, she knew it would never happen. She was not his Imprint and he wasn't hers. But she wanted him to be her Imprint so badly. JJ was perfect to her and he was her weakness. Aiyana let all of her walls down with him. She wasn't the party girl with him. She wasn't the girl who had sex with a bunch of guys when she was with him. When she was with him, she was just... Aiyana.

Her heart fluttered as he tucked a loose strand of her curls behind her ear, their gazes meeting for a moment. She inhaled shakily, her golden eyes shimmering in the sunrise's light. She looked up at him with a loving gaze and she felt the air between them filled with tension. His finger traced her jawline and she felt shivers run down her spine. She smiled softly and bit her bottom lip. She looked up at him as he moved to hold her face in his. She gulped and when he closed the space between them, she felt her head spin. She leaned into the kiss,her hands on his chest. She felt fireworks. She had never felt anything like this. She looked up at him as he pulled away, a bright blush on her pale cheeks. She giggled softly against his lips and welcomed the second kiss. She felt him deepen the kiss and she gasped softly, gripping his shirt in her hands. She looked up at him as he pulled away once more. She giggled at his words, her warm and radiance practically intoxicating. "No, you didn't. We'll always be friends, JJ. Best friends." Aiyana whispered breathlessly, her golden eyes searching his for what he would do next.

JJ was glad that they would stay friends. The two of them had always been close and he was happy that they were staying that way. He wasn't sure what they were now. Fuck buddies? Friends with benefits? Maybe more? He hadn't imprinted yet and, as far as he knew, she hadn't either. Why not be together until that happened for one of them?

"Well in that case." He said under his breath before reaching forward and placing his hand on the back of her neck; pulling her forward. He then crushed his lips against hers and moved forward so that she was laying down on the bed. He then lifted her shirt and began kissing her stomach up to her chest; his mouth burning holes in her skin.

He then leaned forward and began to whisper dirty things into her ear while rubbing up against her. His hands searched her body; his fingers trailing against her soft skin.

"Aiyana..." He groaned while in his lustful haze. He could think of nothing else in that moment except for her. He wanted, no, he needed her.

She felt him push her back on the bed and her back hit the cool sheets of his bed. She felt her heart thundering as he held her. She had had sex before but she had never felt anything like this. She let out a purr as he lifted her shirt and kissed up her body. She gasped softly, her body beginning to burn with desire. She let her head fall back, her golden brown curls curling around her porcelain face. She moaned, squeezing her eyes shut and arching her back off the bed a bit. She felt his hands wander his body in a hungry was as his words filled her with fire. She gasped softly as he called out her name. She moved her hands to gently tangle themselves in his hair as she whimpered in pleasure.

JJ chuckled when she asked if he was satisfied. He was, but he wouldn't give her the satisfaction of the answer.

When she noticed the cuts on his back from her claws, he exhaled and turned toward her. He then placed a hand on her cheek and said, "Don't worry. We heal fast, remember? Besides, it was hot as fuck."

He then shrugged and kissed her lightly.

He wondered briefly if this had meant anything to her. At least, the way it did to him. H wanted more than just the occasional hookup, but he wasn't sure if she did.

Blowing some hair out of his face, JJ leaned forward and brought Aiyana into his arms; falling back onto the bed. He then held her in his arms and kissed her hair.

"So what was that about not coming over to makeout with me?" He teased with a snicker.

He could feel himself slowly succumbing to sleep. It was 5 am, after all. The sun was about to rise. Thank God it was Saturday and they didn't have school in the morning.

Aiyana turned her worried golden eyes to his, a soft frown on her face. She sighed, opening her mouth to protest but he stopped her with a kiss. She kissed back gently, smiling softly. Aiyana squeaked as JJ pulled her into his arms and fell back onto the bed. Her squeak faded into a sweet giggle as her gold eyes shimmered with happiness. She looked up at him, smiling softly as she took in all of his features. She felt that she could truly be happy with him. But she knew her destructive nature. She would ruin him if she let him love her. She frowned deeply, her heart sinking. She wished she could give him more than this but she saw herself as nothing but a mistake and a grenade. As he held her and kissed her hair, she fought the lump in her throat. She knew JJ deserved a thousand times better than her. She was about to voice what she was thinking when JJ spoke up. She scoffed at his words and playfully punched him in the chest with a growl. "Shut up, Jacy." Aiyana giggled softly, her mood seeming to lighten. She still fought with her demons but she figured she would just keep them to herself. She frowned and snuggled further into his arms, wishing she never had to leave.
