  • Egil looked up at the looming towers of the castle drawing in a deep breath. “I don’t know what I hope.” The King muttered darkly as he gripped on to his sword hilt. Outrage still sparking in his eyes as he stormed into the castle. Seperating from Kensington he went to his quarters to find the servant or Brida herself if he found her. Throwing the door open he narrowed his eyes a little looking around the empty room. Muttering a string of curses he turned to leave and was nearly run into by a frantic servant. “The Queen...servant’s quarter...basement....” The poor man wheezed as he braced agains the doorframe. The King stalked out the door hurrying where she was. Egil barked orders to clear the way as he ran to find her. When he got to the servant’s quarters the upper floor was entirely cleared out. The only noise was muffled screams down from further. Drawing out his sword he proceeded into the basement. Coming down the stairs he let his footsteps echo down the stair case. Before he even saw entirely what had happened he vowed to make this as bloody and painful for whoever was hurting Kensington. “I should have known what a lily-liveried vile creature you both were.” He hissed with a shake of his head before he lunged for the servant. Pulling him off of the Queen he kicked her sword back towards, his blade pressed up against the man’s chest slowly pushing his back into the wall behind him.

  • Kensington looked at Egil for a moment before gripping onto her sword. Blood dripped from several cuts but she stood anyways, rage had filled her at Brida and the man. The look of surprise as she stood caused a smirk to form. "I've stood after lashes, you honestly think I won't stand to watch him die as well you meet my blade?" She snapped angrily. She grabbed Brida from where she stood blade pressed against her throat. "Tell him," she ordered as she turned her to face Egil.

Sorry the post is short, my sugar dropped but it's more of a filler anyways.

  • With the penned against the wall he picked up his sword and cracked the flat of it across the man’s face. He turned his head slightly to look at Brida, his blade still hovering close to the man’s chest. Brida was clearly breathing hard with the sword pressed against her neck. “Who’s the father?!” He demanded loudly pressing the blade into the servant’s rib cage. Narrowing his eyes he watched the servant gasp and squirm away from his sword point. “Him?” He growled loudly slowly the blade deeper into the man’s body. “Yes! Yes he is! The child isn’t your’s. Just stop!” Brida yelled out loudly to stop him from impaling the servant any further. Egil paused briefly looking between them. His eyes were guarded and almost unreadable. His sword through the man’s chest in one easy movement. Sliding the blade out he stepped away to let the limp body slump to the floor. Narrowing his eyes he looked towards Brida and Kensington. “What should be done with her?” He ignored the woman’s cries as she looked at the bloody body on the floor.

    (It’s no problem :) )

  • Kensington looked at the woman before pushing her away. "I will not kill a pregnant woman. But I will banish her. The next time you step foot inside this Kingdom again, you will be killed on site. Now go before I change my mind." She said as she threw the woman towards the door. The moment her hair disappeared, Kensi leaned over grabbing her side. She braced herself against the wall, pulling away her hand to see blood. "Ugh, that little *******." She cursed loudly, flashing Egil one of her smiles.

  • Egil watched Brida scramble out of the room without looking back. Frowning he spit on the floor where the body was laying and slid his sword back into its sheath. Making his way over to Kensi he offered her his arm for support looking over her wounds. “I am not above slaying a pregnant woman.” Shrugging his shoulders slightly he was too numbed to dwell on that fact right now. He chuckled as he saw her smile on her face despite the fact she was bloody and bruised. Shaking his head he motioned towards the door. “I need a strong drink right now.” With a hollow chuckle he slowly moved towards the door. When he got to the top of the stairs he came face to face with several servants all clustering around the door to see what exactly the comotion was about. Motioning down to the body he moved past them. “Clean up the body. The witch, Brida, if she’s anywhere in Tora by nightfall she is to be killed on sight.” The King growled with his hands balling into a fist as he stormed out of the servant’s quarters. “And someone find me some d*mn mead!” Egil boomed, his shoulders hunched slightly forwards.

  • Kensington laughed slightly at Egil before wincing slightly. "I would love a stiff drink as well." She told him as he helped her through the quarters. Breaking away from him only to appear strong in front of the waiting eyes, she pushed herself until she reached her own chambers, a trail trinkljng behind her. Upon entering the chambers, the Mead began his work on patching her while she simply poured both her and Egil a drink. "Took you long enough to get there," she teased him, her smile remaining. Kensington offed her drink quickly, growing impatient by the minute. Once the Mead finish some time later, she looked at Egil. "I apologize for how things have turned out. One day, someone will truly give you an heir. I always said whoever you choose as your Queen would be a fearsome thing to behold. Not some foolish girl who doesn't even know one true thing about you."

  • Egil sighed as he walked down the hall seeing the trail of blood that leading towards the Queen’s quarter. Motioning a servant over he had them deal with the mess before proceeding on to Kensi’s quarters, simply following the trail. Walking he gave a tired sigh and let his body slump forwards, sitting down heavily in the chair opposite her. “Too many messes to clean up.” Smiling to himself he took the cup offered to him. Taking a long swig he watched the fire crackle in the fireplace. Gripping the cup tightly he took a long swig from his cup. “It’s for the best.” Shifting around in his chair to face her he had a rather strained smile. “Whoever takes up the mantle would have a lot to live up to.” Tapping the finger against the cup he looked her over. “I don’t think I would be able to replace you.” Egil admitted draining half of his cup. “It’s good to have you back.” He smiled at her before laying the cup back down on the table.

  • Kensington smiled softly at him, blushing at his comment. She turned her head to avoid his noticing but was sure he already knew he made her swoon. "Nor could I replace you. You're special Egil. Any bloke that doesn't see that is either blind or severely stupid. It's one of the reasons I love you." She said, her eyes widening at the end. She hadn't expected to blurt that much out but sure enough she had. Refusing to look at him, she found herself aimlessly looking around the room red from embarrassment. It hadn't even been a full 24 hours since he found out about Brida but her she was half-drunk admitting she loved him. She sighed before looking at him, bracing for whatever he had to say.

  • Egil chuckled to himself as she turned slightly red and looked away. It was a little entertaining by the fact that he could still make her blush. Taking a swig of his cup he hadn’t at all expected her to let slip she loved him of all things. Setting his cup aside he looked at her for a second. He was still wounded from the fact that a woman had tried to use him for her own ends. Still, when they’d left the Eastern Kingdom he’d regretted no saying something before they had left. He found himself missing her while they were apart. Egil looked over her features lit up with the light glow from the fire place. For one of the few times that he found himself at a loss for words. Sighing to himself he looked back down into his cup. Contemplating it quietly to himself he sighed to himself thinking for a few moments before he could find the words he wanted to say. “I love you too.” Egil said softly as he looked her in eyes while saying this with a small smile.

  • Kensington's eyes widened before she grinned ear to ear. Her blush returned as she looked at him. For a moment, everything they had been through flashed through her mind from the first moment he mocked her as she held a pitiful sword, to the moment she caught her first glimpse of his softer side, the moment she realized she had felt something deeper for him, to the moments he kept surprising her, to now. "Stay with me?" She questioned, not wanting him to leave her alone again. She had missed him in their time apart and wanted to spend some much needed time with him.

  • Egil watched her silently, his heart thumping the tiniest bit in his chest. Baring his heart to Kensington. He had missed her and he was relieved to no longer have to pretend that he despised her to keep Brida happy. He slowly nodded his head when he asked her stay with him. “Of course.” Chuckling as he leaned forwards to cup his hands around her face taking in her features. There was an amused smile on her face as he ran his thumb over her slightly reddened cheeks. After a moment of silence he leaned forwards to plant a soft kiss on her lips. Holding the kiss for a few more moments before pulling away. With a teasing smile he stood up from the table to tend the fire. Leaning against the stone fireplace he smirked to himself as he threw a log on the fire.

  • Kensongton blushed once more as he pulled away from the lips, feeling at peace for the first time in a while. She rose from where she was walking a short distance to her luggage. Reaching inside one of the small bags, she pulled out a simple book only partially read. Walking to the fire, she sat down book in hand with a fond smile. "Remember this?," She questioned as she grazed the book with her fingertips "It's the book I was trying to read when we first met. You wouldn't stop pestering me so I never finished it.". She laughed lightly at the thought. Her hand reached to hold his before giving a small tug as if asking him to join her to sit.

  • Looking away from the fire, tipping his head when she brought out an old book. At first he was going to question if he should leave her in peace to read. He looked at the book cover for a moment before smiling in recognition of the book. Chuckling to himself he sat down beside her peering at the book. “Ah, fond memories. It was so easy to get under your skin.” Egil chuckled to himself wrapping an arm around her for a moment. “It doubt it was any good since you still didn’t finish it.” Snatching the book from her hands he cocked his head this way and that to look at the pages flipping it this way and that. Shrugging his shoulders in disinterest he offered it back to her with a slight wave of dismissal.

  • Kensington gave a playful glare when he took it from her, resuming in her laughter at his disinterest. Leaning back against one of the chairs, she too gave the book a sneer. "It wasn't so much as easy to get under my skin as how infuriating you were," she said before shaking her head "Are. How infuriating you are.". She laughed once more as she set the book to the side. Reaching forward, she grabbed one of his arms draping it around her shoulder as she leaned into him. "Despite everything though, I wouldn't change a moment of it. How could I? Tora is beautiful. It's easy to see why you fought for it. While, I could have done without the lashing it made me stronger still. Being around you has made me stronger. I trust you see that? How could the once weak and annoying princess you met have passed the Tora right of passage otherwards?" She questioned aloud silently thanking him in her own way for all he had done.

  • Egil frowned nudging her lightly with his shoulder. “How dare you insult your King.” He grumbled morphing his face into a believable scowl for a second before a smile broke through and he chuckled to himself. The man beside her sighed the tiniest bit when she brought up his less than noble actions. “I thought I’d see just what you were made of.” Egil would probably breath his last breath before he ever apologized for any of his actions. Still, lashing her was probably one of the few things he did regret it. At least how he went about it. “It was hard to ignore how much you’ve changed. The strength was always there.” Sighing softly he leaned in, pressing his forehead against her’s. “You are more than worthy to lead Tora.” Closing his eyes for a moment Egil smiled.

  • Kensington raised an eyebrow when he scowled at her, rolling her eyes when he grinned at her, flashing one of her own. She could hear some regret in hi voice when he spoke about when she was lashed, but didn't point it out having already forgave him for that day. She hummed softly when he pressed their foreheads together, enjoying his company. "And you are the best King Tora will ever know." She told him, confident in him but curious as to if she would be worthy enough to produce an heir for him. Sure, she could lead alongside him and love him, but would that be enough for her to be a mother one day? Small doubts clouded her mind for a moment or two before she shut them out, resuming in his embrace. "I wouldn't change anything. I trust you know that."
