  • /niko has her own sub and Narukami is crying somewhere

She knew her father wasn't very enthused about it, but he couldn't keep time from marching on forever, and Niko wouldn't allow it if he could. After recent events -which Narukami was guilty about- Niko wasn't quite the child she used to be. She was taken from her father so easily, and she couldn't rely on her father for the rest of her life. She needed to learn how to defend herself so he wouldn't have to, and so she would not have to feel his ever-pressing shame over how a situation ended. Niko did not blame him for his actions. Those people who claimed to be her parents were going to take her away from him, and he kept her safe, even though he wasn't quite himself. He worried that he'd terrified her, that the fear she felt had been because of him, but she had feared those people, and when the man threw her off the side, she- she felt helpless.

That couldn't happen again. So here she was, in one of the clearings, attempting to create a bit of wind more powerful than just a gust, but for some reason, she could only stir the leaves on the trees. She'd managed to push her father in the water before; she didn't know why this was all she could do now, and Niko's frustration began to mount, until, with a frustrated shout, she sent someone nearby tumbling head over heels. "Oh! I'm so sorry!"

Aleksei wanted to familiarize himself with the new lands as best as he could, so he did spend quite some time out of the camp exploring. Admittedly, it was mostly for his own curiosity's sake, but he reasoned that it would be good to get a lay of the land for any information--dangers to the Clan, new landmarks, resources, etc.

The stroll was quiet except for the banter of birds up in the canopy and the soft whisper of leaves rustled by the wind. The trees opened up ahead and as soon as he stepped out, a great gust of wind buffeted him, nearly knocking him over. There might've been a shouted expletive until he caught sight of who was there. "It's fine, Niko," he returned as he shook some debris off himself. "Practicing?"

  • "Mr. Aleksei!" She hadn't realized at first who she'd buffeted with the gust, and embarrassment resulted in the shuffling of small paws as she attempted to think of a more sufficient apology. She'd done that to their leader, and if her father happened to find out -she didn't doubt that he would manage to hear of it- he would forever hold it over her head. Well, maybe not for eternity, but for something close to it. He hadn't wanted her going off alone, and even though she hadn't injured Aleksei, he might still use it as an example. Regardless, she had to apologize, so the Scottish Fold bowed her head to him, eyes wide. "Practicing? Oh, yes, I was. Father doesn't think I'm ready, but he's just stubborn."

Aleksei was not the type to tell on Niko for such a harmless little thing, so the girl could probably rest easy knowing that this incident would be kept quiet by him. The leader would tilt his head as Niko explained the situation. "Maybe he thinks you need a bit of guidance," Aleksei suggested. He himself did not possess wind elemental powers, so he wouldn't be the best teacher, but he supposed he didn't mind giving Niko a couple of pointers on managing powers in general. There was a small pause before he continued, "Or was he hoping to teach you himself?" After all, he didn't want to be too forward about it.

  • Canoris hadn't seen Narukami around very much. Or Niko for that matter. Though, she didn't blame them at all for that fact. She had just recently managed to crawl from whatever den she decided to hole her self up in while she sneezed and slept her cold off. Feeling better than she had in days, the dark brown wolf approached the typically jubilant child and stoic leader as they spoke about training. Ah. Training. She missed Ladon. Canoris overall felt like quite the failure when she thought about the blind wolf. She had had such high hopes for him, and now he was gone.

Before the shadow of a frown could surface as a true one, she shoved the thoughts away. "Powers huh? I'm hopeless in that area of the world, though if needed, I can be the one you practice against... if that's what's going on here."
