Emerald green and icy blue orbs opened slowly as Fawn awoke from her short nap. Her shoulder throbbed gently as she sat up. The gash above her eye stun as she blinked. The Balines she cat sighed as she turned her head to glance at the cold body behind her. The red and cream fur bushed up slightly as the young 8 moon old cat exited the den cautiously before heading for water, uneasily eyeing the camp entrance as She skirted around it.
Morningstar awoke. She blinked the sleep out of her tired eyes. Her deputy would need to assign patrols and Swanfeather needed to collect some herbs. Perhaps she'd join the medicine cat or the patrol. She padded out of her den and yawned, watching as her camp came to life.
Snowpoppy nuzzled Shimmercreek awake from her sleep, and the dark tabby she-cat blinked up at her angerly. “Who in the name of StarClan do you think you—“ she stopped mid-sentence as she realized who had awoken her. Her littermate, Snowpoppy. “Get up. We’re going to volunteer to join the Dawn patrol,” Snowpoppy announced, making Shimmercreek cower in her nest with a dramatic sigh, throwing her paws over her face. “Snowpoppy, you cannot be serious—“ she began to argue, but she was cut off short as the snow-white she-cat hauled her by the scruff out of the nest. Shimmercreek groaned in protest, but otherwise allowed her sister to drag her from her comfy nest. With a flick of her ear, Snowpoppy turned and nosed her way out of the warriors den, as if assuming her sister would just follow her. How bold. Shimmercreek sighed again but followed suit.
“If you don’t recall, Snowpoppy, I lead the sunset patrol last evening, which I had single-pawed fought off some kitty pet intruders, renewed the scent markers and scared off a pair of ragtag loners, so if you ask me, I need a break,” Shimmercreek lamented when she was within earshot, making Snowpoppy’s long tail lash with annoyance. She turned around to face her, her mew low. “Stop complaining. We were made warriors to serve the Clan, not to slack off.” She growled, padding towards wherever the deputy was.
Shimmercreek rolled her eyes. Snowpoppy was so bossy. Ever since they had been named warriors just a few moons ago, her sister saw it fit to literally drag Shimmercreek out of her nest in the mornings to patrol the boarder.
It was so irritating.

MidnightMoon
MALE • 50 MOONS • DEPUTY
• MidnightMoon woke up for the sunlight on a sunnying rock. As he saw the female warrior coming to him, he smiled. “Hello. What do you need? I am going to assign the border patrols now,” he said and lift his voice to be louder, “good morning everyone. Is someone interested in joining the border patrols? If yes, come to this sunnying rock,” he meowed and waited for the cats to come to him.

Fawn limped to her source of water before slowly crouching next to the puddle. Her pink tongue farting out to lap at the cool liquid she needed to survive. The cobwebs on her wounds weee thoroughly soaked crimson as she stood up cautiously to make her way to the den and her mother’s lifeless body...she sighed as she forced herself to place one paw in front of the other
Snowpoppy approached Midnightmoon, a grumbling Shimmercreek following close behind. “We can go out on boarder patrol,” she offered.
Swanfeather awoke, and she blinked the sleep out of her pale yellow eyes. "Good morning, Sunpaw." She meowed, turning to her apprentice. "We have to collect herbs today."
Hemlockpaw twitched his ear as Midnightmoon's call rang out across the camp. From the sound of it, activity was starting to pick up in the camp. Heaving himself to his paws, the apprentice sighed and padded slowly out of the den, not even bothering to give himself a quick morning wash. His mentor's light pelt caught his eye on his way out of the den, and with a small flick of his tail, he trotted over to Morningstar. "Good mornin'," he greeted, stifling a yawn. From the looks of it, his mentor had just woken up as well. "Sleep well?"
Morningstar turned her amber gaze towards her apprentice. "Yes." she smiled a bit. "Would you like to go on a patrol today? Midnightmoon is organizing them right now, and we can tag along with one if you wish."
SunPaw
FEMALE • 9 MOONS • MED. CAT APPRENTICE
• SunPaw happily blinked, a lot of excitement in her eyes, her tail shivering. "And what kind of herbs? And where?" she asked, trying not to hop up and down. Going into the forest and searching for beautiful herbs- how better could she spend her time?

MidnightMoon
MALE • 40 MOONS • WARRIOR
• Midnight moon glared at SnowPoppy and ShimerCreek. "Alright, you might go. I just wait for some others to join. If nobody will join, I can also go. Nothing can be better than a morning walk," he mewed, not knowing if it was right taking just two young females onto the border patrol. They would probably not be able to protect themselves if there was any danger there.

Hemlockpaw shot a glance at Midnightmoon as Morningstar mentioned the deputy's organization of patrols. "So I heard," he mumbled. "Anywho, a patrol sounds fine t' me."
"We're short on marigold and we could use a few more cobwebs. We can get some others as well." Swanfeather sat back down. "For now, let's see what herbs you know. Can you get the borage leaves for me?"
"Alright." Morningstar began to pad towards the towards her deputy. "Hemlockpaw and I will join a patrol."
Snowpoppy nodded and waited.
Hemlockpaw followed his mentor and stood beside her as he awaited Midnightmoon's response.

• MidnightMoon nodded. “Of course. You may join the patrol. Because the Leader is leaving, I will stay here to protect the camp awhile you are away. I think this is enough cats. I will now go look at the other cats, if you excuse me,” he mewed, and hopped down from the sunnying rock as this duty was over today, and headed to another warm place to watch the cats awhile the Leader will be away.

"Come along. Let's go." Morningstar meowed, leading the patrol out of camp.
"WEll, I'm not going to send you out of camp alone, am I? In the den." she meowed, waiting.
Hemlockpaw followed Morningstar out of camp, keeping his eyes and ears open for any sign of intrusion. Though the young tom was on the look out for danger, his face remained his usual stone cold look of disinterest. As he padded on in silence, he would also listen in to any conversations between the other three on the patrol.
Snowpoppy shot a quick look at her littermate as the two she—cats wordlessly followed their leader out of camp. She couldn’t wait to stretch out her paws, get some fresh air, renew the scent markers, maybe hunt a little bit.
Shimmercreek, on the other paw, was hardly enthused. She had only come along because she was basically forced to by Snowpoppy. She’d have been much more content to get at least a few more seconds shut—eye before running around doing duties till sundown. StarClan, being a warrior could be draining sometimes. She and Snowpoppy had just been made warriors, but it seemed like her sister had adjusted to the busy life of a MeadowClan warrior ten times as fast as she had. She sighed, flattening her ears to her head. Would she ever feel like she belonged?
Hemlockpaw glanced at Snowpoppy and Shimmercreek as they padded along wordlessly. He could feel the mild tension crackling between them, and his whiskers perked forwards as he watched them from the corners of his eyes. "Looks like someone got outta th' wrong side of her nest," he remarked, the snide comment aimed at Shimmercreek.
