Long ago three gems known as the Jewels of Fëanor, or the Silmarils, were crafted by Fëanor, a Ñoldorin elf and High King of Ñoldor, from the essence of the Two Trees of Valinor; Laurelin and Telporion. It was said that no violence within the kingdom of Arda could mar or harm the Silmarils. However, they could still be destroyed for the Valar have the ability to break them open to release the light within. Recognizing their immense beauty the Queen of Arda, Varda hallowed them, so no mortal flesh, hands unclean, or evil could touch them. Fëanor would wear the jewels on his brow at feasts for others to see, but as he began to suspect his kin he no longer displayed them openly, allowing only his father and sons to view them. The great elf was exiled to Formenos, located in the hills north of Valinor, and the Silmarils were stored in a chamber of iron.
Melkor, named Morgoth by Fëanor and the first Dark Lord, destroyed the Two Trees of Valinor. The Silmarils contain all the remaining light of the Two Trees. The Valar entreated Fëanor to give up the Silmarils in order to restore the Trees, but he refused. Morgoth killed Finwë, the father of Fëanor, and stole the gems, setting the three in his crown. Fëanor was furious at Morgoth and the Valar's perceived desire to take the gems for their own purposes. He and his seven sons swore that they would wage war against any being that withheld a Silmaril from them. A series of battles, named the War of the Jewels, took place in Middle-Earth, causing grief for the Elves and Men of Middle-Earth. Ñoldor had failed to retrieve the gems.
One of the Silmarils was recovered by Beren, son of Barahir and Emeldir, and Lúthien, daughter of Thingol and Melian the Maiar Queen of Doriath, through great peril and loss. The stone was taken to the Valar of the west as a token of repentance. The Valar set it as a star. The other two gems were still in the hands of Morgoth. They were taken from him at the end of the War of Wrath. Two of Fëanor's sons, Maedhros and Maglor, stole the gems, but the jewels burned their hands in refusal of their rights of possession. In agony, Maedhros threw himself and his Silmaril into a fiery pit, embedding it into the earth. Maglor casted his into the sea. Thus, the Silmarils remained in all three realms of Arda — in the sky, beneath the earth, and within the sea.
Thousands of years have passed and word of a wondrous gem being discovered beneath the Lonely Mountain by the great dwarf king, Thrór, has spread to all parts of Middle-Earth. They called it the Arkenstone. It became a family heirloom of Durin's folk. Many have travelled to the Lonely Mountain to have a glimpse of its beauty. Rumors about the Arkenstone being the Silmaril of Maedhros began to spread and allies and enemies alike look towards the Lonely Mountain. The gem was lost again when the dragon Smaug took over the treasures of the Lonely Mountain, but it was eventually found again by the most unlikely creature. A hobbit, named Bilbo Baggins, of the Shire found the stone and returned it to the rightful dwarven king, Thorin Oakenshield. The king, unfortunately, lost his life in the Battle of the Five Armies. He was buried deep under the Lonely Mountain with the Arkenstone, returning the Silmaril to the earth.
The Silmarils remained undisturbed for another seventy years. Now an ancient evil has become interested in the gems. His name is Sauron. He is a fallen Maia and the creator of the One Ring. During Morgoth's reign of terror, Sauron was his most trusted lieutenant. After Morgoth's defeat, Sauron became the second Dark Lord and strove to conquer Arda by creating the Rings of Power. He was once defeated in the War of the Last Alliance by the last line of defense: Elves and Men under kings Gil-galad and Elendil. But now he has returned to power and seeks his One Ring and the Silmarils of Maedhros and Maglor — the Silmarils beneath the earth and within the sea for they are still retrievable. It is not known why the Dark Lord seeks the Silmarils, but the Elves fear that he will cause great destruction once he has them for they contain great power.
War is brewing. Sauron is preparing his forces to wipe out the free people of Middle-Earth. Orcs have overrun towns and villages, terrorizing everything that comes into their path. Sauron plans to dominate the entire continent and he needs the One Ring to do so. However, the One Ring has managed to find itself in the hands of another hobbit named Frodo Baggins. In order to keep the Ring away from Sauron it needs to be destroyed in the fires that once forged it. It must be taken to Mount Doom and cast into the fire. But the Elves have another concern. The Dark Lord has expressed interest in finding the last two Silmarils for reasons not yet known. Another quest must be organized to find the Silmarils and protect them until the One Ring has been destroyed and the Dark Lord defeated. Under the guidance of Elrond, Lord of Rivendell, a fellowship was created. The fellowship consists of three Men, two Elves, and two dwarves. And they shall be led by a Dúnedain ranger. Together they form the Fellowship of the Silmarils.
The Dúnedain Ranger [1/1]
The Dúnedain are Men descended from the Númenóreans who survived the fall of their island kingdom, Númenor, and migrated to Eriador in Middle-Earth, led at first by Elendil and his sons. They are known as the "Men of the West". They settled mainly in Arnor and Gondor. After the fall of Arnor some of the Dúnedain became the Rangers of the North while the rest retreated to the Angle south of Rivendell. In the meantime, the Dúnedain in Gondor intermarried more and more with regular Men. Dúnedain rangers are tasked with a variety of duties. Some are stationed around the Shire, protecting it from the forces of darkness. Others patrol the northern lands, hunting and defeating any enemies they find. Rangers are skilled in a variety of weapons and rely on stealth as an advantage rather than an actual face-to-face confrontation. Due to their connection to the Númenóreans the Dúnedain have an increased lifespan and can live up to 250 years. They are also known to be wise beyond their years.
Men [2/3]
The race of Men was the second significant race of beings created by the supreme God, Ilúvatar. Men bear the Gift of Men, which is mortality, and therefore they age and die when their time comes, and are susceptible to illness and disease.
Elves [2/3]
The Elves were the first and eldest of the Children of Ilúvatar, and are considered to be the fairest and wisest of any race of Arda given sapience. Elves are very similar to Men. Unlike Men, however, they are immortal, in that their bodies do not age once they have reached maturity, so that they do not seem to become elderly or die of old age. They can be killed by physical injury however, or they may come to death from wasting away if after long eons of life they lose the will to live. Elves are (generally) unusually beautiful in face and body. There is little physical difference between males and females except that which is required for reproduction. They have far better vision and hearing than Men. They also have skills and abilities beyond what is possible for Men, and many can craft seemingly magical objects. Elves are light of foot and can travel long distances without leaving tracks. They do not require sleep, but are able to enter a waking meditative state to regain their strength which means they can be exhausted and tire. Although the Elves are more resistant to adverse environments and lack of food than Men, they can succumb to them thus Elves do require sustenance.
Dwarves [0/2]
The Dwarves were made by Aulë, whom they themselves call Mahal, meaning “maker.” Aulë was unwilling to wait for the coming of the Children of Ilúvatar, for he was impatient and desired to have someone to teach his lore and crafts. Therefore, he made the first Seven Fathers of the Dwarves in secret in a hall under the mountains of Middle-Earth. Dwarves are a short, stocky race, a little taller than hobbits but much broader and heavier. Most Dwarves had thick, luxuriant beards in which they took great pride, and often forked or braided them and tucked them into their belts. Dwarves are a proud and stern race and are made to be sturdy to resist the dangers of their time. They are physically very strong, have great endurance, especially in the ability to resist heat and cold, and they make light of heavy burdens. Dwarves live longer than Men, often up to 250 years.

*:・゚✦ Eradan
—— May it be your journey on to light the day *:・゚✦
NAME Eradan son of Eldacar
AGE Appears to be no more than 21 years old but is actually over 50 years old
RACE Men/Dúnedain ranger
GENDER & SEX Male
SEXUALITY Heteroromantic demisexual
RELATIONSHIP/CRUSH N/A, open for plotting
KIN Eldacar (father, deceased), Ioreth (mother, deceased)
FRIENDS Members of the fellowship (eventually), Elrond, Ellandan, Elrohir, Daeron, Finduilas, Arwen, Aragorn, and Gandalf are his closest friends. However, he also has a good relationship with the other Dúnedain rangers and the Elves.
ENEMIES Orcs, allies of Sauron, Saruman
APPEARANCE
Despite his age, Eradan appears to be quite young. His youthful face makes him look as though he is only in his late teens or early twenties, causing people to misjudge his level of experience, which is a big pet peeve for him.To some he is considered to be rather fair, almost like an elf, but once you take a closer look at him you will notice that his features are slightly rougher, a trait that is prevalent in Men. He stands at 6 feet and 4 inches, so he is on the shorter side compared to the other Dúnedain rangers, but he is still growing. Originally, his skin is light but since he is out in the sun often he has almost a golden tan. He has a thin but lean build due to how active he is, training, fighting orcs, and protecting the inhabitants of the regions he is stationed at. His physical abilities are slightly higher than normal Men, so even though he does not appear to be such a strong being he is definitely capable of overpowering his opponents. Scars from various conflicts and adventures mar multiple parts of his body, but there is a large one on his back that he received when he was 20 years old.
— hair Golden brown hair that falls down to his shoulders. He will either leave it down, especially when he is in a relaxed environment, or he will pull it back into a ponytail to keep it away from his face during battles.
— eyes Honey brown
— height 6'4"
PERSONALITY
Never in his 52 years of life would Eradan ever think he would one day be leading a journey that could change the outcome of the War of the Ring. He is convinced that he would not be a good leader despite the fact that he has all of the makings of not only a good leader but a great one. Even though he is rather young he is intelligent and wise beyond his years. During his training years, he would use whatever free time he had reading about the history of Middle-Earth and the creatures that inhabit it. If someone were to ask him something about a specific point in history he could provide a detailed account about it. He is also well-versed in Elvish traditions, medical practices, and languages (particularly Sindarin). His profound wisdom was developed after working closely with the Elves for decades. However, the Dúnedain tend to be more wise than normal Men. He is quite intuitive, and does not always require an explanation to understand what is going on. His good sense of judgement and intuition are helpful during times of great perils. Planning ahead is very important for him, but when the situation calls for it and the plan is not working he is willing to resort to winging it. He is innovative, making it easier for him to adapt to a multitude of settings and come up with solutions to problems. Despite being a warrior, he is a pacifist and will try to prevent or subdue a conflict before it spirals out of control. He only fights to protect those he loves. Power and glory do not interest him. But sometimes protecting those he deeply cares about will make him do something that could deemed as stupid and reckless. Eradan can be too selfless and will always think about others before himself. He is willing to risk his life if it meant that everyone else will be okay. People have to constantly remind him to take care of himself, and the only way to get through to him is if they mention that he won't be protecting no one if he is not well. He tends to forget to eat and sleep because he is constantly concern something will happen. To make things more difficult he is extremely stubborn. Once his mind is made up about something it is very difficult to change it. He can sometimes be close-minded, especially during stressful situations. When he is stressed out he will kind of shut out everything others around him are saying to improve the situation since he has already decided that they are all wrong and he is the only one who can fix it. He can also be quick to judge, which has gotten him into trouble at times. But he tries to not to let his judgmental self get the better of him. In fact, he can be empathetic and if something is bothering someone he is willing to sit down with them and hear them out. He will do anything he can to help someone he cares about.
— positive traits brave, intelligent, wise, innovative, empathetic
— neutral traits stoic, bold, selfless, determined, moralistic
— negative traits bull-headed, judgmental, reckless, close-minded, reticent
HISTORY
Eradan was born on August 30th TA 2966 in Eriador, a large region situated in northwestern Middle-Earth, around the realms of Arnor. His father, Eldacar, was one of the Rangers of the North, so he was often away on various expeditions, leaving Eradan and his mother, Ioreth, alone most of the time. Ioreth was also from Eriador, and the two met during one of Eldacar's expeditions and quickly fell in love. Eldacar wanted to be with his family and it pained him to leave them all the time, but he felt a great sense of duty to his people and this world. Whenever he returned home he would bring a special gift to Eradan to make up for his absence. Eradan loved his father, but he had a closer relationship with his mother for obvious reasons. His mother was the one who raised him and she was always there to support him no matter what. The two would have their own "adventures" (more like mock imitations of his father's expedition stories) together. However, their days full of adventure and laughter were cut short. News of his father's death eventually reached them. Eldacar had been ambushed by an orc pack during one of his expeditions. Eradan was only eight years old at the time. The news devastated his mother and it appeared as if the life had been sucked out of her. A few years later (when he was 13 years old) his mother passed away due to grief and sickness, leaving Eradan completely alone.
After the death of his mother, Eradan became a little "street rat". He had no family to turn to and he began to steal from others to provide for himself. Luckily, he was found by a friendly grey wizard who had happened to be passing through Eriador. The wizard's name was Gandalf the Grey and he was immediately taken by the boy. He saw greatness in him and decided to make him his companion for the remainder of his journey. The final destination of the wizard's journey was Rivendell, the Elven town and the house of Elrond. There the wizard was able to find a home for the boy. Two elves named Daeron and Finduilas decided to take him in, teaching him the ways of the Elves as if he was one of their own. As he got older he befriended an Elf maiden named Idril, who saw him as a younger brother. She was the one who tutored him in Sindarin and encouraged him to seek knowledge for he was a rather curious fellow and would often ask her questions about the history of Middle-Earth.
At the age of 20 Eradan left Rivendell to join the Rangers of the North, like his father. He was an eager learner and was repeatedly scolded for being impulsive. Not long after he had joined the rangers he attempted to fend off a group of orcs who were terrorizing a farming family, earning him the dark scar his has on his back. He had managed to kill one of the orcs but another one snuck up on him and slashed his back. If it weren't for the sudden appearance of Elladan and Elrohir, the twin sons of Elrond, Eradan would probably be dead by now. The two slaughtered the orcs and helped to heal the boy. They were both amused and impressed with Eradan's eagerness to continue training despite his near death experience. They took him under their wing for some time, teaching him some Elvish fighting techniques. He had also met and trained with Aragorn for some time, developing a friendship between the two.
After years of training, Eradan was finally considered to be ready to take on expeditions. He was sent to multiple regions throughout Middle-Earth to protect the people living there. For 22 years, he had been wandering around the continent, learning about the history, traditions, and cultures of a multitude of races.
SKILLSET
As a ranger, Eradan was trained to be proficient with various weapons, such as bows, daggers, spears, and swords. However, he is seen using a sword more often in battles since he prefers close combat. He is able to defeat a variety of foes, including large quantities of orcs and Trolls. He is no Aragorn but his skills are enough to get him some recognition among different groups of Men and Elves, earning him a certain degree of respect from them.
WEAPONS
Eradan was given his father's sword when he and his mother received news of Eldacar's death. He has held on to it ever since and uses it in battles. The sword was forged by the Elves and glows blue when orcs are nearby. He also has a set of bow and arrows that were given to him by Elrohir and Elladan, and two Elvish daggers from Idril.

PERSONALITY
Idril is an extrovert. She likes to be around people and is both outgoing and enthusiastic. Her energy is quite high and she is always very active. However, she has a bad tendency of talking more than listening. When she gets overexcited about a conversation topic she will constantly interrupt the other person, which has discouraged people from talking to her, making her a little unpopular. She likes to take the initiative and always be the upper hand. But that behavior sometimes makes her appear impulsive since she will try to run headfirst into things without fully thinking it through. Despite coming off as brash some of the times, she is still warm and genuinely interested in other people. She is able to relate with others and feel and think as they do. Daydreaming or dozing off is one of her favorite pastimes. She has always been a daydreamer and would constantly get in trouble for it. But she cannot help it. She is an imaginative individual, seeing her dreaming as a form of escape. Even though she has lived for hundreds of years she has not seen much of the world and often dreams about going off to explore far away lands. She is curious to learn about the culture and traditions of various individuals. For a long time she had relied on books and stories to satisfy her craving for adventure, but it was never enough. She is ready to go out there and really see with her own eyes what the world has to offer. When making decisions she relies on personal values, feelings, and subjective criteria. However, she is quite spontaneous and flexible and will keep her options open at times. her main concern at the moment is what the future holds because the present is literally hell, and she is fighting for a brighter and better future. She dislikes performing boring, mundane, or routine takes and cannot stand being controlled and directed by others. She tries to be diplomatic but that does not always work out and it is not surprising to see her in an argument with someone. She is extremely passionate about her beliefs/opinions and will do everything she can to support them in an argument.

HISTORY
Idril was born in the year 1819, the second half of the Second Age. The Second Age was the time-period of Arda that began after the climactic banishment of Morgoth into the Void by the Lords of the West, or the Valar. This age was characterized by the rise of Númenor, the rise of Sauron in Middle-Earth, the creation of the Ringwraiths, and the early wars of the Rings between Sauron and the Elves. The Ring of Power also came into existence during this period. The Second Age lasted for 3441 years and ended with the downfall of Sauron's army when he was defeated by the Last Alliance of Elves and Men following the fall of Númenor. Idril was born in Rivendell and is the daughter of Amras and Berúthiel. Amras was once the captain of the Elven guard of the Woodland Realm, but he moved to Rivendell and became the captain of its guard. He grew tired of the Woodland Realm and wanted a change of scenery. Not long after he had moved to Rivendell he met and fell in love with Berúthiel, a distant cousin of Elrond. The two married and had Idril, who is the spitting image of her mother. Amras has the silvery-blonde hair that is common among the Sindarin Elves and greyish blue eyes. Berúthiel, on the other hand, has dark brown hair and green eyes. Unfortunately, Idril's time with her mother was limited for she experienced a great deal of pain and torment about 690 years after her daughter's birth. Berúthiel was a good friend of Celebrían, the wife of Elrond, and agreed to accompany her on her trip to Lothlórien to visit her parents, Galadriel and Celeborn. On their way to Lothlórien they were captured by orcs and tortured. They were eventually rescued but they never healed in mind and spirit. Berúthiel did not last as long as Celebrían, who remained in Middle-Earth for one more year. Amras tried to persuade her to stay, promising that she will get better but the Elf maiden saw no end to her misery. Idril and her father watched in great sadness as her mother sailed off to the Undying Lands.
Growing up Idril frequently visited the Woodland Realm since her father wanted to show her where he grew up and he still had family living there, such as his sister, who eventually became the wife of Thranduil and mother of Legolas. As Idril got older the trips lessened due to the fact that the world around them was becoming more dangerous. After her mother left for the Undying Lands, the trips stopped completely. Her father became more over-protective than he already was. He had already lost the love of his life and he could not bear the thought of losing his only child. However, his over-protectiveness made Idril angry. She wanted to go out and see the world. Her curiosity was overwhelming her and she needed to satisfy it by going on some sort of adventure. But her father would not allow it. The two had gotten into many arguments about allowing her to go out, straining their relationship.
The defeat of Sauron at the end of the Second Age changed her father's opinion about going out to explore the world. He was present during that battle and saw the Dark Lord fall with his own eyes. The trips to the Woodland Realm began again, and it increased when Legolas was born during the first half of the Third Age. Idril saw Legolas has the younger brother she never had and helped to raise him after his mother passed away. The passing of his sister was devastating for Amras, and his over-protective nature started to take over again. He forbid Idril from going anywhere without him and even considered sending her with the Elves leaving for the Undying Lands to get away from the impending war. But he was persuaded not to with help from a certain grey wizard, who had brought a young boy with him to Rivendell. Idril became the boy's tutor and pushed him to go exploring. The two grew close and she was heartbroken when he decided to leave Rivendell to join the rangers.
SKILLSET
Idril is proficient in both archery and hand-to-hand combat. Her father is extremely over-protective and he wanted to make sure she would be able to defend herself when the situation called for it. She is an adept archer and marksman, with elvish reflexes and accuracy. In combat she can simultaneously wield her bow and knife. She can also fire an arrow quick enough to intervene with the passage of a slower orc arrow. She possesses some medical knowledge, and is able to treat wounds that range from minor cuts to wounds from poisoned weapons.
WEAPONS
Idril carries a set of bow and arrows and dual daggers.
