  • He was adventurous, that was for sure. Pine had strayed away from Cedar’s group for a day or two to venture out on his own. He wanted to see what the rest of the forest had to offer. It was nothing like the mountains he used to call his home, but it was good enough for him. Plenty of prey and a group of loners just like him.

He had never seen WindClan territory before. It was vast and as wide as the horizon itself, stretching for miles and miles until it dipped out of sight and gave way to towering misty mountains in the distance. Tall strands of wild moor grasses rippled gently down the hillside in the early morning breeze. The young rogue was drawn to the wilderness and untamed grasslands that sprawled out in front of him, tugging his paws to claim them. He bounded forward over the scent markers, completely disregarding them as he headed down the face of the steep slope. Who cared if he just wanted to look around?

  • WindClan territory was indeed vast, Ivynose remembered how tired he'd been the day after his mentor had showed the borders to him. It was a long walk, from the Gorge to near Highstones, from Fourtrees to the farm. The other Clans didn't have nearly as much space as they did, with trees, marsh, and water taking up a lot of room in all of their territories.

Ivynose had been out for a little stroll, but he'd caught sight of a rabbit out of the corner of his eye. After chasing it for a short while, he'd caught up with it, and the animal was quickly killed with a bite to the neck. Ivynose was just going to bring it back to camp, but his sharp nose had caught an odd scent on the wind; he buried the rabbit to collect later, bounding off in the direction the scent had come.

He'd been right to follow it, an unfamiliar cat was wandering through the territory like he belonged in WindClan. "Hey, wait!" Ivynose called, hurrying after the feline, nose twitching as he tried to identify the scent. It had to be a loner, there was no Clan-specific scent on his pelt. "Who are you? What're you doing in WindClan territory?" the warrior questioned, trying to seem as friendly as possible; he didn't want to put off the loner, or somehow start a fight.

  • Ironclaw was out and about as well, but for different reasons. The temporary leader of windclan was coming to some...uncomfortable realizations. ‘I’ve wanted to be deputy for so long, but I guess I never really considered what happens after you reach that position.’ His internal monologue was cut off by an unfamiliar scent.

Quickly altering his course, the white tomcat soon arrived at the stranger’s location.

He smiled in appreciation at ivynose’s friendly tone. ‘At least there’s someone in windclan who’s level headed’

Realizing he hadn’t actually spoken, ironclaw cleared his throat. “As ivynose said, this is windclan territory. Unless you have some business here, I’m afraid I’m going to have to ask you to leave.”

  • The long-furred brown tabby turned as two cats bounded up to him, demanding to know what he was doing so far into their grasslands. Pine gave a twitch of his ear and met the first warrior’s gaze. “I was just looking around. And why does it matter who I am?” Maybe the young tom was argumentative, but that was what he was used to.

Of course, the second one wanted him to leave. “But I’m not doing anything wrong.” He desperately wanted to run away from the two and head deeper into the moor that called his name. Why couldn’t he explore if he wanted to? Clan cats were so obnoxious, with their borders and scent markers and territory claims all over the place. Where was he supposed to go? Back to the mountains? He held back a small hiss of frustration.

  • MORNINGFROST

❝But if there is no name to love, everything has changed❞

TAGS & PLOT ☆彡morningfrost was level-headed, he just tended to think about the worst first. it didn't help, considering all the anxiety and anger he had stored away somewhere, but that was fine. or, as fine as it could be. humming lowly, almost to himself, the feline enters the scene, disinterest lurking in his oculars. he doesn't care for rogues, loners, or kittypets, but he finds no reason to outright hate the lot of them. he places himself beside ivynose, noting the other is much too friendly and trusting for his own good. ivynose reminds him a little of brightmoon, in that aspect. he pushes thoughts of the queen away, as he finally focuses on their visitor. it doesn't matter what you're doing, this is windclan territory. we live here, and you don't.

  • "Then we'll know who you are, just in case you pass by again!" Ivynose responded to Pine. The younger feline had almost caught Ivynose there; it didn't truly matter who Pine was, he was just a loner in their territory. It was almost easier to just send the young cat on his way than spend time arguing, trying to weasel a name out of him. But Ivynose had come up with an answer that worked just fine, in his opinion, and he would stick with it.

Another WindClanner arrived, Morningfrost, and Ivy was surprised at the blunt answer the other warrior gave to Pine. Morningfrost was right, but Ivynose would've worded that sentence a little differently (okay, a lot differently, and it probably wouldn't have had the same effect). Hopefully Pine wouldn't get mad, but the loner seemed a bit nonchalant, despite how he'd seemed to want an argument. "He's right!" Ivynose chirped in agreement with Morningfrost. "You should really be on your way."

  • We live here, and you don’t. “Well, obviously,” he responded. What kind of reasoning was that? He didn’t like the third warrior at all. Snaking his long-furred tail through the grasses, Pine would turn his gaze towards the other two that stood in front of him. Maybe, just maybe....

Suddenly he shot forward like lightning from the sky, barreling past the group of WindClanners and tearing down the slope into the moorlands. Maybe he could lose them! His paws barely touched the blades of grass as he charged across the wide open plain, wind roaring in his ears and buffeting his pelt. A wide grin spread on his muzzle. Ha, catch me now!

  • she was collecting feathers off the ground, in hopes of surprising her daughter, she hummed to herself as she piled them together with happiness.

then just as she had a decent amount, someone ran through the pile and it happened so fast that she stood there with a blank expression. her emotions unknown to herself as she looked towards the figure that ran and back towards the direction the cat seemed to come from. she spotted her fellow clan mates but didn't greet them, instead she turned tail and the petite cat chased after the tom who seemed to run through the moor without care. she was petite, but she had a longer thin body that was built to chase after the rabbits that she had named her kit after. "you arrogant kit! you ruined it!" she wasn't good at insults and never would be, she skirted off to the side and move in an arch around the running cat. quickly moving ahead of him and stopped in her tracks, ready to take on his body weight if he slammed into her instead of stopping.

BUT THERE'S A STORY BEHIND EVERYTHING. HOW A PICTURE GOT ON A WALL. HOW A SCAR GOT ON YOUR FACE. SOMETIMES THE STORIES ARE SIMPLE, AND SOMETIMES THEY ARE HARD AND HEARTBREAKING.

  • Freedom. He tasted it on the wind as he ran, his grin only growing wider as the distance between him and the WindClan warriors grew bigger and bigger. He barely noticed his paws trampling a small pile of feathers stacked on the ground, sending them flying off in all different directions. A muffled yell reached his ears, and he made the mistake of turning his head back to look for whoever had made the sound. Suddenly, the young maine coon barreled into another feline.

Pine slammed into them, his legs tangling with Brightmoon’s as the two fell to the earth with a thud. His body rolled a bit from the momentum before he finally stopped, unsheathing his claws to grip the soil. His head was spinning, and he took a minute to regain his breath before angrily leaping to his paws. “Hey! What the hell is wrong with you?” He growled. It was just then that he noticed a cut on his shoulder where he had made contact with the earth.

❝But if there is no name to love, everything has changed❞

TAGS & PLOT ☆彡that was a stupid move on the rogue's part, if morningfrost had to be honest. scowling, the blue tabby would dart after the male, not particularly keeping up in the slightest. he'd figure the male would either be caught by another, or get so lost, he'd be more easy to find. as it was, the appearance of brightmoon had him pull back, in slight surprise. he could only watch as the run-in happened, but he was quick in making his way over to her, with the intent to check if she was okay or not. he'd hover over the she-cat for a moment, before turning on the rogue. his calm demeanor, it appeared, had burned off along the trip here. his ears would unconsciously pin back, and he'd take a step forward, hair standing up as his tail lashed. you should watch where you're going, you stupid rogue!

  • He steadied himself back on his feet and took in a deep breath, the world still spinning around him. It took a moment for him to regain his balance after the hard impact. Shouting reached his ears, and the warrior from before was chasing after him with flattened ears and angry, bristling fur. “Maybe your dumbass clanmate shouldn’t have made the brilliant decision to run in front of me,” Pine scoffed, ignoring the burning pain on his shoulder as he turned to face Morningfrost. How would he get out of this now? Even when he stood, he could feel the throbbing traveling from his leg down to his paw. Well, that would hurt later. “You WindClanners really love to suck the fun out of everything.” All he wanted to do was see the moor, and these idiots had to go and give him a sprained paw. Great.
