  • Welcome to the City of the Lost! With all humans gone, will you be able to survive when all of your natural instincts have been suppressed since puppyhood?

Plot: The world has been ravaged with a disease that slowly took out the human population. Before all were dead, you broke loose on a mission to find your owners. They raised you since puppyhood, and you’ve never been on your own... until now.

But right when you thought you were on your own, some of the humans that hadn’t been killed off scooped you up, threw you into the back of a van, and took you to a shelter for all the animals that were abandoned by dead owners. Looking around, you saw other dogs, all raised by humans, scared and alone. All of you, crammed in cages. Alone.

But now, even the humans that captured you have been taken out by the virus, and if you don’t escape you will starve to death. Now it’s up to you and the other dogs to figure out how to survive, and if there is anything out there worth searching for.

  • HovawartPurebredDogBlackTanLucy8Months1.jpg

    name: Bumble (bee)

    age: 3 years

    breed: Hovawart

    gender: female

    appearance: above

personality: Friendly and incredibly maternal, Bumble is a gal everydog likes. Or at least, she thinks so. She's polite and respectful, but struts in a way other dogs see as stuck-up showing off. It's not her intention to seem obnoxious, but her past kind of seeps into her way of holding herself. She's gorgeous and she knows it, and she doesn't necessarily see anything wrong with that. Bumble gets very confused when other dogs dislike her, simply because she's not used to it.

background: Bumble was born straight into the show business. Her mother and father were both prize-winning champions, and everyone around her expected her to be the same. The pup was a breathtaking champion from the second she was old enough to show; she stacked perfectly, her coat was soft and beautifully colored, she was sweet and obedient, and had not a single missmark for her breed. Her owner always called her 'Pretty As Can Bee' at the shows; at home, simply Bee or Bumble. She flew though competitions, gathering blue ribbons like it was nothing. She was absolutely pampered at home. Everything changed when the virus took hold, and quickly found herself lost, alone, and afraid on the streets.

name: Bob Marlee Smiles(goes by Marlee, or Miss. Smiles)

    age: 3 Years

    breed: Golden Retriever

    gender: Female

    appearance: Above

personality: Marlee stays true to what her last name, Smiles, suggests. She is positive and upbeat, trying to find the good in every situation. Her attitude is very Motherly, friendly, and humble which makes her very likable and the dog you turn to when you have a problem. Marlee is very good with puppies and kids, enjoying the task of taking care of them. A darker side to her personality is she tends to over think things and can sometimes get panicked about high stress situations. Marlee is also very modest and puts others needs before her own, claiming that they’re more important than she is.

background: Marlee was a rescue shelter pet, adopted when she was only a few months old. Her family was kind and loving, with a few kids she enjoyed taking care of. There was even a grumpy cat named Fish, who she became friends with. Marlee was loved by her family and other who met her, she was a good dog. Sadly, her life fell apart when the virus came she tried her best to help her humans as they slowly died. The youngest was only a year, and she cuddled with it until it passed away. Marlee hesitantly left the lovely life she knew and went out into the streets, scared and alone.

    crush/mate: Open/None

extra: She misses her humans a lot and keeps her collar on, and carries a small doll that was passed down through the families children, to remind herself of them.

    name: Bones

    age: 4 Years

    breed: Great Dane

    gender: Male

    appearance: Above

personality: Although Great Danes are large, they are known for being the gentle giants of the dog community. Standing at around 39 inches Bones towers over many dogs and appears menacing. Though he is overprotective and can be grumpy at times, he is usually a sweet and loving dog. He is playful and sweet, but can be dominant if it is called for in a situation. Bones strikes fear into many dogs just by his huge appearance, so he has learned to stay away from other dogs.

background: Bones was adopted from a shelter by a little girl named Gracie. She was only 3 years old and they grew up together. Bones was very protective of her and didn’t know what to do when the virus came. Gracie died clutching onto his paw, he misses her so very much, he can barely handle it.

    family: Unknown

extra: He has a pink sparkly collar with Gracie’s name on it, in badly written letters.

    Borzoi-Images.jpg

    name: Caspian

    age: 4 years

    breed: Borzoi

    gender: male

    appearance: above, with spoiler's coloring

personality: Saying that Caspian is bitter is an understatement. He's easy to set off and he absolutely hates puppies. Caspian had only lived on the streets for a few months before he was picked off the street, but that was enough time to harden his heart and learn himself some street tricks. He despises cats and can't stand other dogs, and he'll let you know that. He's lithe and quick, short-tempered and very independent.

background: Caspian came from a long line of racing dogs. He was bred to be fast, focused, and vicious on the racetrack. His life consisted mostly of training, racing, and more training, so he didn't have much of a comfy home life to begin with. When he did have days off, he enjoyed them simply resting at his owner's feet as she did work on her computer, or followed her around as she did chores around the house. His owner was the only thing he loved more than running. But then it was back to work. More training, more racing. He earned a nasty scar one race from an accident. After 3 short years of running, his owner suddenly disappeared, (as she was claimed by the deady plague.) He never knew what happened to her, only that he was abandoned by all and left to his own devices on the streets. He grew sour and savage in his loneliness, and was eventually picked up from off the streets

personality: fierce, untrusting, independent. Keeps to herself, as most dogs just laugh at her appearance.

background: her owners were one of the first to go. This left her on the streets, and if she came near other dogs, they would only laugh and scorn her for her appearance. This made her stop believing any dog would ever help her, so she remained on her own. Then she was picked up and thrown into a place in a cage, amidst other dogs. What were the odds?

  • American-Staffordshire-9.jpg

    name:

    "They call me Dallas"

    age:

"I've seen four summers since my birth"

    breed:

"I'm a purebred Amstaff. That's American Staffordshire Terrier to you."

    gender:

"I'm a fully intact brute, want to check?"

    appearance:

Dallas is a broad, squarely built dog with a compact, muscular body. His short, and surprisingly soft, coat is mostly pale brown with white markings, and he has a thick tail. His eyes are an open, liquid brown.

    personality:

Dallas is a dog who runs mostly on instinct. He's not the smartest, but he's very loyal, and fearless to a fault. He would do anything for his friends, so if you mess with them, you're messing with him as well, and Dallas has no reservations about using his teeth, whether its just for a playful nip, or a crushing bite meant to do serious damage. Dallas has his moments when he can be playful, and surprisingly sweet and cuddly for a male, but its just as well that he has a volcanic like temper where nothing can stop him if he is allowed to reach the peak of his anger. He is sometimes reckless, and often charges headfirst into dangerous situations, but he usually has the best intentions in mind.

    background:

Dallas was adopted as a mere pup from a pet store. The man who adopted him was nice, and smelled like various meats and delicious grease, a great smell. Dallas spent three great years with the meat smelling man, who turned out to be a butcher named Billy. They spent many lazy days together, watching t.v, and napping on the sofa. And when it was time to work, Billy always took Dallas with him to guard the shop. There he would get to eat all the meaty bits, and bones, that weren't going to sell, and most of the regular customers that came always had a treat, or a friendly pat, ready for him.

It was a relatively cushy life, so of course it couldn't last. One day, Billy got really sick, and couldn't seem to get better. He had to go to the hospital for a long time, and Dallas had to stay with Billy's daughter, Kelly, who lived far away, and was afraid of him due to his breeds misunderstood reputation. She didn't take very good care of him, gave him food and water, but no attention, and he was confined to the backyard, tied to tree by a thin chain, and with only a crudely thrown together doghouse for shelter. It only took him a few months there to come to the conclusion that Billy might not ever come back, and after that, he made quick work of snapping the clasp on his chain collar, and ran off, determined to find Billy.

He spent another few months on his own, learning how to be a competent street dog, and building up his reputation as a dog you didn't want to cross fangs with. But, eventually he got to carless and got himself snatched up by the shelter.

    family:

"Don't really remember my family, just Billy."

    crush:

"No one has caught my eye just yet."

    mate:

"When the girl for me comes along, I will know."

  • D1501-Keller-334-T.jpg

    name: quartz

    age: five years

breed: border collie x australian shepherd

    gender: male

appearance: a perfectly balanced hybrid, easily distinguishable as either dog breed. he's shorter, and more rounded than a collie, but just as, if not more so, dainty in nature. his silky pelt is primarily white with small patches of grey merle, the skin beneath is pink and his eyes a translucent blue.

personality: quartz is a very cautious sort, never rushing into situations, and very aware of his surroundings. his caution gives way to friendliness very quickly, although in talking to him he seems prematurely aged, too tentative to play and seemingly uninvolved in social squabbles (although he's always got an ear out). he's gentle, and sympathetic with a tendency to try and herd those around him.

background: quartz didn't come from a backyard breeder per say, but they were certainly disreputable. quartz in particular came from a three pup litter of double merles, his brother came away lucky, while his sister was born blind and missing a paw. quartz was the median, being hard of hearing and of poor eyesight, he was bought as a family pet. fortunately his family was well to do and could afford his numerous vet bills, and he lived happily until the virus struck and he was, quite easily, captured.

family: open. one merle brother, one lethal white sister.

    crush/mate: none / none

extra: he still wears a sky blue collar with his name on it. / double merle with partial deafness and poor eyesight, prone to sunburns and easily wounded.

    name: red fern "fern"

    age: two years

    breed: redbone coonhound

    gender: male

appearance: just barely grown, fern still retains some of his adolescent gawkiness, but is obviously a well bred dog. he has a sleek rust colored coat, and expressive mahogany eyes.

personality: fern is playful with a high prey drive, and loads of determination. he's not so high energy as to be obnoxious, and is actually quite sociable. he's a sweet pup that tries to do what he thinks is best.

background: fern was born to a pair of hunting dogs named, you guessed it, old dan and little ann. he was trained to tree raccoons by his owner, with the guidance of his parents. he got pretty good, and aided in winning numerous amateur treeing competitions. however when the virus hit he'd been sent to stay with his owner's aunt while his parents went to a professional meet. when she died he was desperate for help and wasn't so much captured, as he ran headfirst into the trap.

    name: mahsul

    breed: kuchi

    gender: female

appearance: mahsul is a large dog, on the hefty side even within her own breed. she's tiger bodied; athletic and stout, with a short coat, but thick ruff. she's a pale buff color with light grey patches, and jet black eyes.

personality: mahsul is avoidant of humans and wary of dogs. she's standoffish and quickly escalates to outright aggression in order to ward others off, rather than to start a fight. it takes a calm approach and time to gain her trust, but she's an eager companion and fierce protector.

background: mahsul descends from a long line of fight dogs, and had been bought and shipped in order to bring new blood into the local dog fighting ring. of course being much larger than the other dogs: rottweilers, pitbulls, etc. she was used in multi-dog fights, or put up against the occasional mastiff. really she was a novelty, an end all, and a motivator when pay was due. she continued like this for three and a half years before the virus, and was confused, but exceedingly pleased when it struck. however it was one cage and right into another when she got captured.

  • Sorry, I couldn't resist another character lol

    chihuahua-a-pelo-lungo.jpg

    name: Minnie

    age: 3yrs

    breed: Chihuahua

    gender: Female

    appearance:

Smaller than your average Chihuahua, yet not small enough to be classified as teacup, Minnie is a very dainty little dog. she is adorned with a pure white coat of medium length, and large, expressive, chocolate eyes.

    personality: Tiny but Mighty~

Minnie is s bold little dog with a strong will, and an even stronger personality. Having been a lovable cuddler ever since she was puppy, she really has no regard for others personal space, in the physical sense anyway. She’s always been sociable, and also curious, usually being among the first to check out anything-or anyone-the others would dub as ‘sketchy,’ for shy just doesn’t seem to be a concept she can grasp, and as such, she is often drawn to those who would rather spend their time alone. Minnie can be extremely persuasive, and charming when she wants to be, but she can also be manipulative and vicious while wearing a sweet smile, but don't worry, that's only if she hates the ground you walk on.

Minnie can be impulsive and stubborn, and if you make her really mad, she's quick to attack, but she doesn't hold grudges, and as quick as she is to resort to violence, she's just as quick to apologize and put the whole thing behind her, though the other party usually isn’t so forgiving.
Minnie doesn't believe in keeping things buried inside her, so you will never misunderstand feisty little dog because she will always tell you exactly how she's feeling, or what she thinks of you, or a situation. Obviously this particular trait has a few more 'downs' than it does 'ups' but some might appreciate her for her straightforwardness. And despite everything, Minnie is loyal to the core and will always have a shoulder to lean on -figuratively speaking- or an open ear if you just need to vent. She’ll try to cheer you if you’re down, and will openly confront those who hurt you

    background:

Minnie was born in France, and she grew up there with Madam Isabelle, her owner, but then for some reason she still has not discovered, they packed up and moved here. Not long afterwards, Isabelle left for work and never came back, taken by the virus. Minnie was trapped in the house, alone for days before a neighbor finally heard her barking and called the shelter.
