  • LUCERYS —

The son of Always wasn't too keen on leaving the den to go into the hot desert of his clan's territory. The young bookworm was nervous, and knew that his sister would probably be around too. Well, not everything always went his way, he noticed that too. Slowly, the fluffy ginger tabby kitten pushed his way out into the sunlight that seemed to burn through his red fur. His left eye, completely black with a red hue, seemed to take in its surroundings with sense of deep remorse while his right eye, soft blue in color, beamed happily at the sight. "He.. Hello! Um.." Squeaked out the male nervously, his furry tail wrapping around his small body protectively. He was lost already, the large architecture around him confusing the young kit.

  • TAGS ✦ ✧ ✦ —Always spotted a face she knew well and was on the move in minutes. She moved to sit beside him and let her own tail curl around her kit. He was finally willing to come out here and see the world. She wanted to be supportive of him, because this was a big step. Jackie had not taken it yet, but Vix had. The Warlord smiled softly and lowered her head to nudge him softly. A reassuring look in her hollow eyes.

    "speaking"

  • Talia isn't sure how to approach, exactly. While certainly not "physically terrifying" in a sense, she's still massive compared to many of the creatures in the desert, standing at six feet tall on all fours. To any other adult, perhaps they would look, perhaps even be a bit intimidated, but to a child?

The white-furred hound keeps her distance for a moment, too worried she'll be seen as a figure of fear for children - it's not something that she particularly wants. Scaring adults is fun but scaring children breaks her heart. No, she can't have that happening, so the fox-like hellhound stays away and catches Always' eyes instead, nodding at the mother supportively.

  • LUCERYS —

"Mama, mama? What's that?" Squeaked the kitten, multi-colored eyes moving over to look at the fox-like hellhound. White in color, almost like snow. It was unusual to the curious bookworm, while it also made him slightly nervous. If that canine was looking at his mother like that, didn't that mean they were safe? He'd read those types of behaviors in his books, he knew he did.

"Hi!" Shrieked the kit cheerfully, waving the femme over with a flick of his tiny paw. Darkened stripes decorated the feline's legs and back, moving down to his tail tip. His small frame pushed into his mother's comforting embrace, trying to get in a little bit of shade from the beating sun. It was so hot! How did people live here? "My name is Lucerys, what's yours?" He asked happily, tail thumping against the ground shyly.

  • TAGS ✦ ✧ ✦ —The female looked over at Talia as she came near, but stayed back. She knew that look was of respect and understanding. One mother to another, it was simple and pure. So, she was grateful for the female being cautious. Though her worries were soon dashed by her sons words.

The female looked down at her son and smiled softly. Conjuring her notepad and pen to write a response. That is Talia. She is a Hellhound. Pretty neat, right? She offered as she adjusted to let her shadow fall over him a bit more. She knew it was hot, as she was black as darkness itself and had long fur. So, if she was hot then her child would get hot soon enough.

The woman watched the Hound with calm eyes. She trusted the mother. She knew she wouldn’t hurt a child.

    "speaking"

  • Mama, mama? What's that? Talia freezes for a second, wondering if the child will act in fear, wondering if she's too close - too different, t-too big - but the tone of his voice doesn't shake nor tremble. Instead, it glows with the bright embers of curiosity, of wanting to discover and needing to know. Slowly, cautiously, head hunched over to make herself seem smaller, the massive hellhound begins a tentative approach. Her smile is genuine but cautious, not wanting to scare the child, and she finds a spot next to Always to shield them both from the blistering sun. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Lucerys. My name's aunt Talia. I'm happy to see you out and about."

    /iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii'm screaming so c u T E hNGGKAJ

  • LUCERYS —

Multi-colored eyes skimmed over the notepad slowly, reading what his mother wrote for a moment before turning back to the white creature. A hellhound? Aren't they supposed to be in the Underworld, though? "Do you have any special powers? I read this story about a hellhound that could spit fire! Can you spit fire?" Asked the boy, scooting a bit closer to the hellhound to listen for a response eagerly. He loved to learn, loved to listen. Maybe that was what made him such a fast learner; his eagerness.

Talia? That was such a pretty name! The child wasn't too familiar with the other members of the Sanguine Ruins, but he knew he could trust those whom his mother trusted. He trusted his mother with his life, after all. Mother knows best. "I like to read! I read that deserts barely have any water in them, is that true?" He rambled on, happy to ask a bunch of questions.

  • so many constellations girls and moonlit boys baring starshine eyes had came into home, either by miracle of birth's divine wisps of gold or gentle heart's adoption. and hypokrisis couldn't be more delighted by such facts. stories and tag and fairy tales, they were quite adventurous things that children would favor. it had been so utterly long ago, before weight of world stole away messy laughter of youth from him at but six moons, he had tasted childhood ever fleeting upon curve of honeyed tongue. he had been a wondrous boy, perfect and darling with wide, gracious dreaming, eyes- dreaming. he missed it.

it was such a lovely familiar word, one in which caused longing to flourish forth within chest like that of crimson stained roses with thorns of sharp, cruel reality- wondrous and agonizing. for he had been a child forged from fairy tales, with adoration for far off lands where giants roamed and gods with cruel humor and crueler eyes ruled with messy laughter as ambrosia dripped dropped over crystal wine glasses. and as he began to grow, to find harsh reality's avarice tinted finger tips grabbing about what colored earth's beauty to replace flowers with cruel winters. he'd become nothing more than cracked porcelain, leaking out guarded hope.

"Reading is a wonderful thing," hypokrisis steps forward, honey and gunpowder movements infectious within fluidity. there was something softer about corner of moonflesh smile, melancholy quieter, bits of pleasure dare poking through. "That is completely correct, desert's have an extremely limited water supply compared to other environments. It's due to that our camp was purposely created near the site of two water resources so that our members would never find themselves too far away from a river or the oasis," too pale king recounts.

"Lucerycs, was it?," there's such politeness it's silly, but it was such a beautiful idea, "I'm Hypokrisis. It's nice to meet you. I actually own quite a few books- if you'd ever like to borrow any of them just simply say the word."

  • LUCERYS —

And like a fire, Hypokrisis appeared on the scene as fast as he spoke. The young child was fond of fairy tales, reading them during his freetime when he wasn't studying his day away. Day, such a short thing.

"My name is Lucerys." The boy corrected gently, a soft chuckle of laughter escaping him at the error he heard from the leader of the Ruiners. He was the leader, right? He heard from mother that he was.

Reading was his favorite past-time, his upmost happiness was derived from a few long pages. His mother had taught him how to read nearly after birth, right after he had opened his eyes and ears. The words that Hyp spoke were like sweet symphonies in his ears, which twitched with an eagerness to listen to such a soothing voice.

"Reading, for me, is like.. A getaway, like an island resort!" Squeaked the child, multi-colored eyes focusing on the desert land surrounding him. So much sand, he should make sand castles! Or maybe go treasure hunting? Either would be fine. Adventuring also sounded fun. "Poetry, especially. Shakespeare.. I love his stories." He meowed, rummaging through his tiny pouch for the small book entitled 'Macbeth'. "Betrayal, sadness, secrets. It's such a wonderous thing, isn't it?" Asked the boy, a soft smile gracing his small features.

A library would be magnificent, like a dreamland to Lucerys. Circle frames began to scoot down the ginger tabby's nose, to which the feline gently pushed them back up with a paw. "You have some books? What type of books?" He asked curiously, tipping his head to the right in a sense of mystery.

  • The direhound never once saw any of Always children and yet he's heard of them, protected them while Mingan was here and having never seen their faces until now. The scene catches his eye from a little ways off and seeing Always there makes him want to approach just to be there, but he isn't sure as his gaze drifts from their lovely mother to her child. Yuu didn't like children all too much nor did he like being in the presence of them-- they seemed to easily grind on his nerves with their energy at times and other times he supposes he just can't help but be around them when they all want to crowd his large and imposing body. Why aren't kids scared of the fact he could literally crush them under his paw if he accidentally step on him? Why weren't the kids intimidated by the sharp teeth he held, and his smoldering red eyes? Yuu doesn't understand it, and that makes him wary.

However, despite that, he lingers nearby anyway with the slightest of frowns on his face, contemplative in nature. He listens to the words being tossed to and fro by first Lucerys, then Always, then Talia and Hypokrisis when he approaches and Yuu's stumped. With a rolling of his jaw, his uncertainty begins to fade as he wills it and he begins taking heavy steps forward towards the group. He's positively the largest thing existing in the Ruins, seven feet tall and still growing, and he sits just behind Hypokrisis and Talia. His long tail whisks across the ground, sending sand this way and that, and he ponders over a comment. Once he finds it, he speaks, voice as modulated as always despite the anxiousness lain within his stomach. "You like reading too, kid?" He's surprised, but perhaps he shouldn't be. Lucerys is Always Dead's kid, after all. "Reading... provides a great deal of knowledge too. If you read a lot, you'll be smart like me." Of course, no one could be as intelligent as Yuu, but he doesn't mention this outright. "My name is Yuu, by the way."
