OOC:
IC: "Were you just making those comments off-handedly then?" White asked with a tilt of her head, curious as to why Pyrite even thought such things in the first place. It felt odd to be considered so highly in any case...

IC: "Were you just making those comments off-handedly then?" White asked with a tilt of her head, curious as to why Pyrite even thought such things in the first place. It felt odd to be considered so highly in any case...
OOC: oof past White ;.;
IC: "Oh goodness no," Pyrite replied in surprise, blinking. She knew she meant it every time shed said it, she just couldn't remember off the top of her head.
OOC: XP
IC: "Odd..." White muttered, not yet able to quite get people meaning stuff but not having a specific plan in mind as they said it. It was an odd concept to a Gem that had been wholeheartedly loyal without question all of their existence.
OOC:
IC: Pyrite frowned and tilted her head. "Odd how?" she asked, reaching to drink from her glass again.
OOC:
IC: "Gems I normally interact with have a set idea in their head before suggesting something." White explained quietly before bracing herself and taking a small, hesitant sip of her drink. She grimaced uncertainly at the feeling.
OOC:
IC: "Hunh," Pyrite mused, setting her drink down and running her finger around the edge thoughtfully. It made an odd hollow humming sound. "I mean--yeah, I guess everybody does. There's kinda been other stuff to think about besides plannin' no vacation or anythin'..." she mused. She kind of hoped the topic would change, though. She knew White didn't mean to, but it made her feel kind of weird being compared so meticulously to homeworld Gems. Did they just not open their mouths or think out loud much?
OOC:
IC: "You're only expected to say something useful on Homeworld. At least, that was the way for White Quartzes---Era 1 White Quartzes." White winced at herself at the reminder of the current state of the new era of White Quartzes, feeling an oddly strong amount of pity this time at it.
OOC:
IC: Ah, that's what she'd feared. Pyrite grimaced at her mug and tried to word a reply of some sort carefully. "...Hmm. Welp, Earth sure ain't like that." Thankfully she was saved from the awkward by one of the teen girls bringing over a large pan with a pizza on it. Pyrite finagled with her about placing it on the table, then the girl went away again.
OOC:
IC: White took the moment to recover from the slip, in the meanwhile leaning a little away from the strong scent this...pizza gave. What was it with humans and creating such strong scenting items? Not like she didn't smell as a Gem, but a human nose was vastly different, it seemed, then what she had allowed to pass...
OOC:
IC: Already guessing White would be reluctant to have any, Pyrite smiled wryly to herself as she cu the pizza and just served herself. She wouldn't push it until White's tummy started rumbling.
OOC:
IC: White simply took another reluctant sip of her water as she watched, trying to build herself up to eating again. While she knew she needed it, the idea in and of itself was still, well, alien to her. An organic form was too much.
Awkwardly, she shifted the necklace with the white quartz gem on it into her shirt.
OOC:
IC: Pyrite tried not to watch White too closely as she ate her slices. She debated telling White not to overthink it, but she was starting to see by now that White just kinda needed to work herself up to things. Heh, if it was loosening up White needed, maybe she ought to let her get a little buzzed after all, for all Pyrite had decided right away not to let White near anything even slightly intoxicating. She was mostly joking, but she almost wondered if it would work...nah, it would just make White more miserable with a hangover.
OOC:
IC: After another moment of procrastination, White set the cup down and reached for a piece of pizza. A frown formed on her face at the feeling.
"Why is it so messy?"
OOC:
IC: Pyrite started to laugh around a bite of pizza. "It just is," she chuckled after swallowing. "Some people like it that way. Here, use this spatula here."
OOC:
IC: Taking the utensil cautiously, White slowly worked her way through getting a piece and then getting a bite into it. There wasn't an outright move of rejection, but it was obvious White wasn't sure how to take it.
OOC:
IC: Pyrite smiled to herself as White dared to try the pizza. She almost clapped, but thought better of it and just focused on her pizza to let White figure herself out. Cheering, even jokingly, would just make White feel weird.
OOC:
IC: While White still couldn't grasp the concept of taste, even she noticed how odd the taste of everything together was.
"...what are the items that make up this again?" Though her knowledge in ingredients felt dubious at best...
OOC:
IC: Pyrite looked up from her pizza at the question. "Hm?" she started, patting a napkin to her face. "Uhm, bread, cheese, tomato sauce. 'Think that's about it..." Did the Gems know what bread was? Or vegetables? They didn't really grow anything besides wheat on the farm...
OOC:
IC; "And what exactly are those? This doesn't seem to be something that seems like a good idea to throw together..."
OOC:
IC: "Oh no, there's recipes and stuff for it," Pyrite explained with a slight chuckle. "Pizza is so popular that we've--humans got it down to basically a science. Uhm, Bread and cheese are things that humans make. Tomatoes are plants that people grow to eat, like the wheat field back home. This bread is probably made out'a wheat, actually," she mused, poking at her pizza.
