“Can’t you see Faye?? He’s a hideous creature! You’re in love with a dragon that took you away from me!” The king growled, still advancing towards them.
Faye glared at him. “You’re the one who’s the monster here father! I can see that now.”
“Can’t you see Faye?? He’s a hideous creature! You’re in love with a dragon that took you away from me!” The king growled, still advancing towards them.
Faye glared at him. “You’re the one who’s the monster here father! I can see that now.”
“You would’ve driven her away sooner or later. If you had really cared and loved your daughter, then you would cease this attack and actually talk. But instead, you’re not going to stop until you kill everyone you come across.” Zy growled.
“Until all of you creatures are down for! You have poisoned her mind to believe us humans are the bad ones here!” The king snarled.
“There’s where you are wrong. You’ve made the assumption that I think all humans are in the wrong. But it never occurred to you that a large chunk of my people are humans. Humans live here in peace and are treated equal to one another. It’s only humans like you that are in the wrong.” He snarled, running in to disarm the older man while dodging any attacks that may be thrown at him. If possible, he would rather avoid killing.
“Well those humans are traitors just like the lot of ya!” The king tried to force him down with all of his strength.
Faye snapped. “Stop it! Why are you so hateful?! Because of you, my brother was killed!” She wanted to intervene but couldn’t.
Zy wasn’t weak during this battle of strengths. He is a dragon after all so he tapped into his strength, pushing back even harder. It may be dirty but his next action was using his scaly tail to wrap around the king’s ankle and pulled hard.
The king tripped once the tail was wrapped around his ankle. “Blasted monster!” He spat, struggling to rise and reach for his sword.
Zy took the opportunity to grab the sword before the king could. Rather than killing him, the prince chose to wound both of the arms and legs to keep the older man from being able to do much.
“Careful...” Faye whispered to him. “He May be treacherous, but the is still my father.”
The king moaned in pain, glaring up at Zy. “You’ll never win!” He hissed.
“That’s why I’m not stooping to his level and killing him.” He replied back, ignoring the man’s hisses. With the fight now done, one of Zy’s knights came up to the pair with a bow of their head. “Take him to the dungeon. He will be dealt with later.”
Faye nodded and sighed as she watched her father be dragged away. He was trying to thrash violently, but he was already in a weakened enough state as it was. She turned to Zy. “So, now what?”
“First, this.” He murmured, cupping both of her cheeks and gave her a passionate kiss. When he pulled away, his forehead gently pressing against hers. “One thing we’ll have to figure out what to do about your kingdom. Your father is not going to be able to continue to rule, not the way he is.”
Faye smiled as she took hold of his hands after he kissed her. Her gaze met his. “Well...one thing is for sure, my mother cannot rule because she is not formerly of royal blood but noble.”
“But you are Faye.” He murmured, squeezing her hands. “The kingdom doesn’t know your father tried to disown you so you could become their queen.”
Faye thought for a minute. “But...what if I’m not ready? I never imagined it would be like this..” She sighed, turning away from his gaze.
“You don’t have to go in alone. If you’ll allow me... I wish to help you Faye.” He murmured
She let his gaze again. “I trust you now Zy. I would love whatever help you could give me.”
He smiles softly, kissing her forehead. “If you don’t mind me being bold, I wish to spend the rest of my life with you. Is that alright with you?”
She blushed and eyed him lovingly. “Well I would certainly not want to have anyone else rule beside me.” She giggled a bit. “I would be honored Zy. I love you.” She murmured.
He grinned happily. “Wonderful. Why don’t we go back into the castle. The knights will round up the opposing force just fine on their own. Plus the wounds are starting to get to me.”
