  • As he said that, a plate was handed to him, a waffle resting peacefully atop it. "Syrups are on the counter. No meat, Ayalon forgot to pull it out of the freezer last night," said the short male who had been handling the waffle-maker. Aspen, was it? Yes.

"There's another waffle for everyone, and some small pancakes as fair game. Enjoy."

  • He shrugged, pouring some syrup onto his waffle before digging. He’s hungry enough to not care about the meat right now. Plus there two other opportunities for meat to be a part of a meal throughout the day.

  • True enough. In any case, once a plate was handed off to Dyani-- though this one held a few pancakes in place of the waffle. The pancakes weren't even the size of half-dollar coins. There was a reason six pancakes was deemed the same as one waffle.

She did still use syrup on them, but not even 'on' them. more like... She put it to the side, and dipped the pancakes in it...

How very peculiar. But this did cut down on syrup getting everywhere... Somewhat.

  • Oh man, you'd be surprised at how many people have lectured her about the 'right' way to do this. She's known to cut strips of a pancake to dip them, too. It's why she'll usually refuse to eat in public.

In any case, with how she was doing this, it almost seemed like this wasn't normal for her. Possibly because she was on the wrong side to eat with the proper hand, so she was trying to do this with a very shaky left hand.

  • "Whatever gave you that idea?" Dyani asked sarcastically. That should make it an obvious yes. "I could just be a klutz, dropping my food everywhere." Nope, she was right-handed.

    "Don't mind me."

  • It took about twelve minutes for Dyani to finish her part of the meal, rising to her feet in silence to bring her plate to the sink. Once she had rinsed it off, she made her way back out to the main room to check back in on their lynx.

//Sorry, was questing all day until the world build started...

  • (Nah, don’t worry about it. It gave me a chance to watch some movies.)

Shane sighs a bit, cleaning up after himself as he didn’t want to seem like a slob before joining the small female back in the main room.

  • ///That's good!

Of course, Dyani had gone to make sure their little Lynx was still okay. She was pretty concerned about the poor kitten, and with good reason. Wire traps were new here. She didn't know if she had done enough in time.

  • (Yeah, I saw Cheaper by the Dozen, both the early 2000s version and the one before which I believe was made in the sixties. Wow, they’re seriously different. The older version of the movie ended quite darkly with a death)

Only time will tell. “The cub still doing alright?” He asked, joining her side to look at the young animal.

  • //Hope you enjoyed the movie at least

Dyani didn't seem to register that he had spoken for a moment. When she did, she flinched, looking at him as though she had been spooked.

"Uh... Well, she's a bit more stable now. I think she'll be okay... At least for now."

  • //That's understandable

Dyani frowned a little, giving a small hum. "I don't think so... Nothing for me or for the poor Lynx." After giving a soft laugh, she stood up, making a little hand gesture. It was towards Zibiah, who was still on the couch, and seemed to mean 'I'm trusting you.'

"We had things to do today. Let's go handle those before it gets busy out there, okay?"

  • Before Dyani could reply, Zibiah spoke up. "The two of you need to hurry up and go get the meats for tomorrow's dinner. With three extra mouths to feed, plus a new cub, it's imperative. And... Could you also pick up some very soft canned pet food?"

It almost sounded like sidequest objectives.

  • Dyani seemed to be reluctant still, but she soon gave up. Giving a light nod, the woman looked to Shane.

"Yeah... let's go. We should only be away for maybe two hours, right? That should be fine..."

//Hey, dumb suggestion. What if they learned their parenting skills for later on by tending to the lynx?

//If she ends up as a permanent character, Dyani might try adopting her once she and Shane are an official couple.
