  • The black figure sunk away into the shadows of the desert when Amy came closer. It took a few minutes for Dmitrii to regain the ability to move and speak. “I’m so sorry.” He whispered as he struggled to keep his breathing under control. “Thank you, a lot.” He was red with embarrassment.

Back in Hoenn you were treated like a freak if you saw things, you were cast out from others. He was grateful that Amy didn’t seem to think that way. He tried his best to try and get the girl to stop crying. “It’s okay now.” Was the general theme of his rambling. He slowly unwrapped her arms before standing up and helping her up. He gave her a hug. “It’s going to be okay.” He forced a smile on his face as he straightened her hood. “You ready to get out of here?”

Scizor, oblivious to his trainer’s struggles was worried about getting out of here. He spotted Garchomp and tried to make his way over to him. As much as he was his rival, now was a time where cooperation was dire. He explained how their trainers weren’t taking the rain well.

  • Amy looked up at him with tears in her eyes and nodded. When he had pulled her into a hug she had almost instantly wrapped her arms around him and it was almost like a death grip. She had been so scared when he had just suddenly tried to run away. She had been scared of the storm before, but then... She couldn't... She was so glad he was safe. Another hiccup escaped the girl as she tried to stop crying, but she was okay.

Garchomp nodded in agreement with Scizor before turning to his temporary trainer and... Him. For only a moment Garchomp looked ready to attack, but in the next his expression was neutral and his effort was in traversing the sand. He had the same problem as Scizor, he was too heavy for this enviroment. His feet were more suited for sand, but this wet sand was difficult and he was afraid to try and 'swim' as most Garchomp's do because he might drown. If he had a running start, like from the city pavement, he could make it a fair distance.

  • Dmitrii let the calming affect of their hug soak into his tired body. He rubbed her back soothingly to try and quell her hiccups and tears. After a while, he released. “Hey.” He put his hands on her shoulders. “It’s going to be okay. I promise.” Unconsciously, he took her hand, holding it as he let go of her shoulders. “At the top of that dune I saw what looked like an abandoned building.” He pointed his finger a little to the right of their bigger pokemon. “It looks to be maybe half a mile away?” He tried to get Scizor’s attention by screaming about the storm, but he wasn’t loud enough. Banette, who was beside him ran out to Scizor tp tell him the plan. “Hey!” Dmitrii said, before realizing what his pokemon was planning. Dmitrii swayed as he stood still. “Are you ready?”

Banette made his way to the two larger pokemon, unhindered by the sand due to his light weight. He crawled up onto Scizors arm and onto his shoulder to get Garchomps attention. He pointed his finger at the miniscule silhouette, and Scizor nodded as he began to trudge through the saturated sand. He motioned for Garchomp to follow him.

do you want amy to get sick, and dmitrii would have to care for her? that could be good bonding material i think

  • OOC: That'd be cool :3 it ties in with her not being used to the outdoors

IC: Amy nodded weakly and held onto Dmitrii's hand as she tried to calm herself down. By now her clothes were soaked completely through and her feet felt like ice despite the desert sand below her, she was miserable, but she refused to say anything about it. If he was fine, then so was she, but she hadn't realized the 'bridge' had come up so soon. Amy was not suited to extreme's like these as she could barely handle the rain storms back in Kalos, and those were mild compared to this. As if the weather was trying to prove a point, the girl winced when a large gust of wind sent the rain flying like bullets that impaled the raincoat that seemed to offer her minimal protection.

Garchomp took another few steps as he tried to put as much distance between his steps as safely possible. He hadn't seen Scizor wave at him as his sole focus was his temporary trainer, Dmitrii's demise would come later. The ground-type could feel the storm's intensity on his back and he knew it was only going to get worse. The eye of the storm wouldn't pass for a while, but until then they had to survive everything in between. The location of the house was unknown to him, but hopefully it'd be easy to figure out once they got moving. It took a bit, but soon Garchomp's pace started to even out and he was able to reach Amy's side along side Scizor.

  • Dmitrii nodded as the pokemon arrived. The house was only a hundred feet or so away. “We’re almost there Amy.” He said, trying to reassure her. He coughed as a gust of wind had him breath in a little sand and water. They reached the building, and the door looked shabby and broken. A simple shove probably could have opened it, but dmitrii body slammed into it, too tired and wet to do anything more complex at the moment. Dmitrii and his pokemon let out a collective sigh when they reached the shelter. Miraculously, it was dry inside. The wood hadn’t seemd to rot through yet - it was already doing better than Dmitrii’s old raincoats, who were way overdue for a replacement. He took off his backpack, and the useless raincoat revealing his soaking wet shirt and pants that stuck to his skin.

He looked around. “We need to start a fire. Do you see any -“ Dmitrii stopped as he found a pile of wood scraps in the corner of the structure. He made a soon-to-be firepit with the logs before searching in his backpack for some matches. After finding them, it took him a few attempts to start it, but eventually it latched onto the old, dry wood and started burning. Banette amost immediately fell asleep by the fire, and Dmitrii returned the soaked Scizor. “You should probably return Garchomp. It would be kinder to them to keep then out of the cold.” Dmitrii said as he rummaged through his backpack for something else. He patted down at a spot beside him. “You should really warm up. You don’t look so good.”

  • Garchomp had been left behind anyway and was struggling to make his way up the soggy hill with an extremely irritated expression on his face. Upon arriving to the hovel Amy hadn't moved or said much, simply stood near the door with the raincoat still on. When Dmitrii recommended rescuing the dragon-type from the rain she walked slowly to the door before opening it and using the Pokeball to return Garchomp to his Pokeball. Once he was safe it took a moment for her to process what he said next before she suddenly snapped back to herself.

"What? I'm fine," Amy turned back to smile at him as a drop of water slid off the rain coat, "oh, right..." She blinked before stripping off the yellow coat. Once it was gone she looked at her soaked form and blinked before peeling her wet jacket off too. Once those were gone she gladly took a seat by the fire as now she noticed her shoes were missing and her feet were covered in mud-like sand, "when did...? Oh, never mind I have sandals in my bag..." She huffed at the lack of her shoes. Unlike this morning her eyes didn't seem as bright and they kept drooping closed as the warmth of the fire hit the front of her. I suppose in a summary of her actions, she seemed detached.

  • Dmitrii looked at her, his eyes giving away how concerned he was. “No, you really don’t seem to be okay. You look really tired, but you can’t sleep in those clothes they’re too wet.” He pulled out some clothes from his bag. “Mine are too. Im not sure how waterproof your bag is but if your clothes arent dry you can use a sweatshirt of mine and some baggy pants.” He set his clothes oit and the extras Amy may need. “I don’t have bras or anything if those are wet too, so I though a baggy sweatshirt would probably be best.” He said. He looked around the one room shed of sorts. “Well, uhh... There isn’t another room, so we would probably have to go to one of the dark corners and trust the other peron not too look.” Dmitrii looked embarassed. “Er.. I’ll change first. Don’t look, ‘kay?” Dmitrii changed his clothes with haste, settinng his completey soaked previous outfit out on the other side of the fire. “I could step outside in the rain if youd like.” Dmitrii put the backside of his hand to his friend’s forehead. “You don’t look so good.” He pulled his hand away. “And you’re pretty warm.” He pulled out a sleeping bag from his backpack. “I think you should use this when we’re ready for bed.”

  • The moment Dmitrii started talking about changing clothes Amy's face had turned completely red, but not from the heat of the fire. The only thing the rain coat had managed to keep dry was her bag, so the girl promptly stuck her head in that before he managed to even try and remove his shirt. When he had changed she hesitated removing her head, but the instant she had, he was there with his hand on her forehead, "I'm t-totally fine and my bag's dry," She squeaked out, "I can change in the rain, I'll be su-" Almost as soon as she mentioned changing in the rain a bolt of lightning cracked down and the small house lit up in a flare of light, "or not..." She winced, "just don't look!" She said quickly, "but just to be sure..."

Raichu, who had been oblivious to the entire situation woke up to the rickety house with a happy smile. His trainer was huddled by the fire in soaking wet clothes and the other trainer, whom he had no idea who he was but figured he was nice, had his hand to her forehead. Small hands went into the air as the alolan electric-type happily danced around the small room until Amy cleared her throat, "I'll change behind Raichu," She coughed. Raichu had no idea what that meant, but cheered happily anyway. Life was great, trainers were great, everything was great!

  • signals becoming spotty :3

Dmitrii, who was also a deep red nodded. “I-I won’t look I promise.” He decided to busy himself with putting the pants back in his bag, keeing the sweatshirt out in case his friend didn’t have another jacket, or a sleeping bag. “You wouldn’t want to change in the rain anyways, as that would defeat the purpose.” He pulled out a small blanket for Banette, laying it on top of him and scratching the dozed pokemon’s head. “And you’re definitley not okay, you were way too warm.” He unravelled the sleeping bag, laying it near the fire. “Do you have a sleeping bag? If not you need to use mine. I’m worried that you’re getting sick.” After running out of things to busy himself with he started directly at the fire, cupping his hands around his eyes like binoculars, covering everything else up. “A-Are you done?”

ohmygosh raichu is so freaking ADORABLE

  • Amy dragged the happy electric-type to the corner and the Pokemon danced happily as Amy quickly changed into her soare clothes, aka, her pajamas, "l'm fine," She insisted once more, after a sniffle, "and I do have a sleeping bag," She finished the statement. She quickly finished pulling the pink pants up before laying clothes her clothes, shirt, pants, and jacket only mind you, flat on the floor to dry. Her attire was completely pink with a Skitty on the shirt, a far cry from her usual black jacket, white shirt, and blue jeans.

With Raichu happily dancing around the room she set her sleeping bag up near the fire before siting down on the navy item, "you'll burn your eyes doing that," She hummed as she noticed Dmitrii staring at the fire. By now she was feeling light-headed and the warmth of the fire felt wonderful as she felt fridged. Sure she felt sick, but she wasn't going to admit it. She could handle one day in nature, darn it! Even if she got sick and lost her shoes and socks in the first maybe half hour of it. Wait, she refuses to be sick! In the face of her claim, she sniffled again.

  • Dmitrii looked away from the fire. “Sorry, I just didn’t want to accidentally see anything.” His eyes softened. “Are you sure? You really don’t look that good, and you keep sniffling.” Dmitrii stretched. “Well whether you’re sick or not you should get some sleep.” He yawned. “I’m pretty spent myself. That was a nice adventure, even if it went a little haywire.” Grinning, he shuffled into his sleeping bag clumsily. “I loved camping as a kid. My dad, my sister and I would all go out to the woods and set up our tents. We would make a fire and then roast marshmallows.” He laughed. “It’s a shame I don’t have any right n-“ Dmitrii interrupted himself with a yawn. “Well, we should probably head to bed now. Goodnight Amy.”

should amy’s cold worsen in the morning?

  • OOC: Yeah, colds usually don't get worse till at least a day later

IC: Amy listened to him talk about camping with his family and a small smile on her face. His memories filled her mind with cheerful images of two children and their father, something she never had, "that sounds... Really nice," She smiled at him. When he mentioned smores she reached for her bag since had a bag of possibly melted marshmallows and then he yawned and she stopped. Amy nodded in agreement when he suggested going to sleep. She moved so she was laying in her sleeping bag so she faced the fire to keep warm. Raichu curled up in a ball near the end of his trainers sleeping bag as she curled up inside the bag. She glanced at the one she considered her friend, "Goodnight, Dmitrii."

The next morning there was chirping of some kind, almost like purring, "braii? Braaaai?" Braixy was awake and gently poking her trainer's forehead. Raichu even looked tame as he hovered behind the fire-type. Braixy looked nervous as tears formed in the corners of her eyes. Amy would just appear to be asleep, but her cheeks were red and her forehead was drenched with sweat as she shuddered on her sleeping bag.

  • Dmitrii woke up to the sound of Braixen’s calls. “What’s the matter Braixen?” He mumbled sleepily as he rubbed his eyes. His brow furrowed as he saw the tears at the corners of her eyes. He immediately unzipped his sleeping bag and crawled over. He cursed under his breath before turning to her pokemon. “She doesn’t look that good, does she?” He shook Banette awake. “Amy’s sick.” Was all he needed to say before he immediately snapped awake. Not exactly sure what to do, Dmitrii stood up and paced between the burnt out fire, Amy, and his bag. “This isn’t good. Not good at all.” He rambled, trying to figure out what he should do.

His nervous pacing quickened to his bag as he started to rummage through it once again. He pulled out his water bottle and a rag, pouring the water on the cloth substance before kneeling down at his sick friend’s side. He gently touched the back of his hand to her forehead again, before promptly pulling it back and setting the damp rag softly down onto her forehead. He slowly shook her shoulder to wake her. “Hey Amy.” He rubbed the back of his neck anxiously. “You got sick overnight, and you dont look that good. How are you feeling?”

  • Amy had started to wake up when the floorboards creaked at Dmitrii's pacing and entirely when he shook her awake. Her eyes widened and it took a full minute of staring at her friend for her eyes to focus. Once they did it took a moment for her to process that it was him and he put a cold cloth on her head, "I think that... I'm sick," She smiled at him weakly. Her throat hurt, her head hurt, her nose was running, and breathing was a chore. If she denied it she'd be lying and at this point it wouldn't benefit her to lie, "but I'll be okay," She assured him. Life decided to prove her wrong as she suddenly pulled up the sleeping bag to cover her mouth before she coughed, "I'll be okay..."

Braixy let out a cry as Amy woke up and launched at her Trainer. Amy wheezed in pain as the fire-type landed on her chest crying, "she... Can be over... Dramsatic!" The brunette wheezed. Raichu was awake of course and was going to join in the hug when Braixy happened to look back. The fire-type screeched when she saw the electricity crackle on his cheecks before tackling the electric-type. There was a bright flash before Braixy was on the floor in a charred heap with her fur in all directions while Raichu danced around as usual. Amy let out another sigh after Braixy got off of her, "I'm sorry, I promise... *blechew!* this doesn't happen often... Good morning, by the way" She smiled at him.

  • Dmitrii smiled, hoping that maybe acting happy would possibly make her happy as well. “No kidding, you’re definitley sick.” He nervously bit his lip at the paychic/electric-types antics. “Er.. Maybe you should return Raichu for now.”

He stood up. “I agree that you’re probably going to be okay, but it wouldn’t hurt to get you some medicine.” He walked to the door, where he slipped on his jacket and shoes, and his sling. “I’m going to head to town. ‘Kay? You need some medicine, and I’ll try and bring a doctor.” He smiled again, tring to cheer up Amy. “I’m going to have Scizor and Banette watch over you, alright? Honchkrow and I are going to head back to town.” He sent out Scizor, before handing her his pokeball. “Feel free to send him back in if he’s being moody, or you want Garchomp out instead.” He waved at Amy before heading out the door. “Stay in your sleeing bag. Banette, make sure that rag stays damp alright?” His partner nodded before he closed the door and sent out Honchkrow. It only took a glance for Honchkrow to start leadinrg the way back to the city.

i’m gonna say it will be a 2 and a half hour long round trip?

  • OOC: Accurate :3 The town will be in the middle of a storm since it hit the desert as well

IC: Amy slowly sat up as he started to leave and she was sure to keep the washcloth on her head so Banette wouldn't worry. When he started to head towards the door and her hand reached out to him a bit "oh wait Dmitrii I-" Amy started just as the door closed and the room was enveloped in silence, "'m fine..." She finished quietly. She swallowed with a wince before laying back down and returning Raichu to his ball. She remained on her side for a moment before looking up at Scizor, "I'm sorry about this," She hummed at the steel-type with a sniffle. She appreciated Dmitrii's efforts, but she was worried about him. Where was the storm? Was it too humid for Honchkrow? The girl shrunk down in her bag at the thoughts as Braixy sat up off the floor with a puff of smoke.

Meanwhile, a heavy dark cloud hung over the city as the rain poured down like hail. Even from the broken house Dmitrii coukd easily see the near wall of black over the city. Water ran rampant through the streets as people dashed for cover and cars floated down the road. For a regular person, it would be near impossible, but for a Pokemon it would be difficult, but not impossible. The sun beat down on the desert and the steam rose up from the sand like a miasma towards the sky making the desert a sauna.

  • Scizor shrugged. He didn’t mind. He looked out the window of the dilapidated house, eyeing the intense storm. He could see the faint outline of Dmitrii running, and Honchkrow leading the way.

The trainer and his pokemon sped up, Dmitrii occasionally slipping. He made it past the dune, and was out of sight.

    ————

Dmitrii pulled his hood over his head as he reached the stormy city. Somehow it seemed to have worsened, if possible. He hastily returned his faithful pokemon before speeding under a shop’s outer roof, trying to find a pharmacy. After running from roof to roof he gave up and just started running through the rain. After a while - too long for Dmitrii’s taste - he found it and sped inside. He immediately sprinted to the shelf, his shoes squeaking against the clean tile floor. After picking up medicine, including some pain relievers and some antibiotics, he made his way to the counter. He asked for a doctor, but they said they didn’t have any available unfortunately. Dmitrii nevertheless thanked the man before sprinting outside again.

sorry its kind of rushed, signal comes and goes :/ so i needed to try and finish this up

  • The rain attacked him mercilessly upon exiting the building as Pokemon attempted to stop the cars from sliding down the road. Officers in protective gear lined the streets as well as they shouted commands to their partners. The roar of the rain was so loud tjat their voices didn't even make a dent in the torrent, it was all a chorus of chaos. None of them seemed to notice Dmitrii as they went about their preparations to minimize damages due to the weather. The water was at least an inch deep by now, much like it had been just the other day in the desert. The weather there was dismal as the whole barren landscape was covered in a white fog from the evaporated water. No winds blew in either the city or the desert, so neither weather phenomenon was going to disappear anytime soon.

At the house Amy slept as peacefully as she could while Braixy sat patiently on the ground next to her. Each breath came out as a wheeze and her sleep seemed restless as often in her sleep her eyes would close tighter or her body would move only slightly. Braixy seemed to be on the verge of a mental collapse as tears pricked her eyes and it was all the fire-type could do to sit calmly. Braixy could be just a bit over dramatix, but she had never seen her trainer sick before. Of course Raichu had, and Garchomp it was questionable, but Braixy had been with her the least, maybe a year, and had never seen her... The spunky fire-type didn't know what was wrong with her trainer and it scared her.

    OOC: It's all good :3

  • Banette sat beside the anxious fire-type, reaching up to pat her shoulder as an attempt to comfort her. If he was being honest, he was pretty worried about Amy too. Scizor stood at the window, watching off his trainer and feloe pokemon.

When Dmitrii made it back to the desert, he released Honchkrow again. Following their cooperation from before, Dmitrii followed behind the flying bird pokemon as fast as he could. Eventually, the house came to sight and soon enough he made it inside. from the window he could see that Amy was asleep, so he set down his backpack and the pills.

Dmitrii set out food for his pokemon and Braixen, and scratched Honchkrow’s beak. “Thank’s buddy. I couldn’t have gotten back without you.” After doing so, he pulled out a little food. All he had was grain bars, so that was what they eere going to have to eat. He then took out the corect amount of pills out of each bottle, before drinking a little water. He furrowed his brow at her uncomfortable-sounding breathing.

ahhhhh i had no signal today im very sorry

  • Dmitrii came back to see Braixy still with tears in her eyes and Banette's hand on her shoulder. The fire-type had moved very little since he left and didn't move much when he came back. She appreciated Banette's comforting gesture, but she just seemed lost.

Amy woke up after he started rummaging through his bag. She smiled at his general presence in the room as she curled a bit in her bag to move her stiff muscles, "hey," She said with a hoarse voice. She blinked sleepily before slowly sitting up so he wouldn't have to look down as far, "you're wet...?" She noted as the smile fell off her face. She had no idea of the world outside and it was a desert, so where had the water come from. Braixy smiled as Amy woke up, but she still didn't move.

OOC: It's cool :3 no signal is no signal
