  • OOC: You're good :3 It's not a one-liner, that's all that matters to me

IC: "Well, from what I heard on the way here, Durant's are pretty hardy," Amy hummed, "which is probably why he did last. I'm still impressed Scizor managed to win both times without a scratch," She blinked as Braixy skipped her way over to the rest of the group. She seemed to have recovered from the shock of Scizor's abilities, "have you ever been in a battle before?" Amy suddenly asked Dmitrii. With Scizor's abilities she found it hard to believe he hadn't, but at the same time she did only meet him like a day or so ago so she had no clue.

  • Dmitrii tapped his chin. “Have I battled before... Hmm...” He tapped his foot and furrowed his brow. “I think once or twice? I can’t really remember battling at all other than today but I’m sure i have at some point.” He shrugged and grinned. “But I love it! It’s a lot of fun.” He waved for Scizor to walk over to the company. “Hey, Sciz, c’mere.” The bug-type reluctantly obeyed, crossing his arms as he stood beside his trainer. They turned to face eachother. “Do you ever remember batting?” The red pokemon though for a few seconds, before shaking his head. “Hmm.. Maybe we haven’t battled? Maybe we have.” Dmitrii’s eyes widened. “Oh! Yes! We battled once or twice when we were...” They nodded in understanding, but they didn’t say anymore details about the paat situation. “Yeah...”

  • "Well some experience is better than none?" Amy blinked as they talked about their experiences. Braixy pretended to understand and just simply nodded once. "With more practice you guys could be super trainers!" The brunette smiled happily. She truly believed that, but she couldn't help what they meant before. She thought about Dmitrii and his gambling then the others and she resisted the urge to bite her lip. As they chatted happily Burgh finally returned with the small badge in hand. A Sewaddle followed at his feet looking tired while the gym leader himself was picking webs out of his hair, "sorry for the wait!" He called out to Dmitrii and Co. Amy blinked.

  • Dmitrii smiled. “That would be awesome!” Scizor perked up at the thought. Banette cheered once again from atop his trainer’s head. Dmitrii’s look of happiness became on of comfusion as the gym leader picked the silk out of his hair. “Wha.. What happened?” He scratched his chin as he thought. “Is this part of your gym renovation?” He laughed. “Nah, it couldn’t be. I don’t know what you could do with webs.” Dmitrii took a small case out one of his many pockets. “Anyways. I guess I only need seven gym badges left!”

Scizor observed the tired Sewaddle, intimidatingly narrowing his eyes. What was this bug doing here?

  • "Ah, no... Somebody-" He glanced at the Pokemon glaring up at Scizor as if it could take the significantly larger Pokemon on, "saw the shiny badge and... Stole it," The gym leader smiled, "congratulations again," He said before handing Dmitrii the small badge that shone brightly in the natural light of the gym. Amy smiled happily as Dmitrii received his first badge and Braixy cheered happily. The Sewaddle continued to glare at Scizor while Braixy danced around Scizor in happiness.

  • Dmitrii broke out in a toothy grin as he put the badge in the case. He promptly shut it. “No harm was done in the end.” He slid the container into his front pocket before continuing. “Do you know which city I should go to next, to challenge another gym leader?”

A small look of happiness broke out on the commonly stoic face of Scizor. It was easy, yeah. But he was kind of proud that he was able to win without help. He rolled his eyes as Banette joined Braixen in her activity of dancing around Scizor. They could be such children sometimes.

  • "Which way is north?" The gym leader asked almost as suddenly. Braixy stopped dancing as the question came up and her eyes lit up. She dashed over to the gym leader and pointed at an unsuspecting wall. The gym leader smiled down at the fire-type before spinning on one heel to face the same wall as Braixy, "if this is north, head across the bridge that way! Names escape me," He laughed as his right hand made a finger gun. Amy raised an eyebrow at his rather vague directions, but who was she to judge. He spun around once more so he was facing the others, with Braixy mimicking the action, "the desert is going through a bit of a rather violent storm right now."

  • Dmitrii pulled out his map. “Alright, I got’cha. Thanks.” He put the map away before saying his goodbyes with the eccentric gym leader, and walking out the door with his company. “Is there anything else you would like to do here before we leave for some other place? It’s a good thing we need to head north because thats where its cold, right?” He smiled, and observed the storm in the distance. “That doesn’t look too bad. Don’t you think that we can get through that?” He pumped his fist excitedly - he loved storms.

Banette cheered as well, having a similar personality, along with dislikes and likes as his trainer made it imminent he would also enjoy the heavy rainfall. Scizor, on the other hand was not too fond of them, being metal. He didn’t want to be a lightning rod, so he clicked the button on his pokeball to return to the red light. “Ooh, good idea Scizor, I almost forgot.” He said, even though the pokemon couldn’t hear him.

  • "Garchomp could... It's all sand," Amy mused as she could see faint flashes of orange sand tinting the dark clouds, "but... Us? I have no clue," She hummed while rocking back and forth on her feet. She didn't have anywhere else she wanted to visit, contests were out and she wasn't fond of battles so nowhere else really caught her attention. Braixy smiled happily at the idea of leaving... Until they mentioned storms.

"Braixy!" Amy yelped as the fire-type dove once more for her pocket. They wrestled for a bit until Braixy disappeared in a haze of red light. Amy stumbled back a step at the lack of a second being to lean on before she caught herself, "I... Uh, Braixy hates storms."

  • Dmitrii laughed at the fire-types antics. “Well Banette and I love em. We lived in a stormy part of Hoenn.” He took his pack off his shoulders and rummaged through the unorganized mess. He hummed. He let out an “Aha!” As he found what what he was looking for. He held up one tiny Banette-sized raincoat, and two other raincoats. “It may be a bit big on you, but it would work!” He gave a proud toothy grin, pleased that packing two of something came in handy for once. “I’m afraid i dont have a large one for Garchomp, if he wants out though.”

Dmitrii jumped up and down repetitively, annoying Banette, who was sent up in the air every half second and had to try his hardest to grip only his parter’s head. “So can we go?” He asked excitedly.

  • Amy blinked as suddenly she had a raincoat in her hands and Dmitrii was smiling at her like an excited little kid. Garchomp would be fine as far as she knew and she didn't mind storms herself, but what exactly was to the north anyway? Soon she found herself nodding, "okay, what's the worst that could happen?" She asked as soon a smile was growing on her face, "let's wait until we reach the edge of the city to bring out Garchomp, that way we cam move a bit faster," She smiled. She felt like it would be okay somehow, I mean, so far their journey together had been going alright... Wait...

"Are you going to be okay? Didn't you just get out of the Pokemon Center?" She blinked. Amy had no idea why it hadn't occurred to her earlier.

  • Dmitrii started counting on hiis hands. “Well... -“ Banette hit hik on the head to make him stop Dmitrii shrugged. “I’ll be fiiiiiiiiiine.” He started walking, joyously paying attention to the smooth change in light. he grinned excitedly, dropping his backpack to put on the waterproof coat. He cracked his knuckles before walking out of the city limits.

The rest of the desert seemed to be even barren of pokemon at the moment. Fierce lightning and thunder were a common occurence as the rain bugun to slicken their coats. “Now THIS is a good storm!” Dmitrii grinned, walking slowly due to the powerful wind pushing hom back. The sand slowly gave a few inches way under each step as he walked to the top of a nearby dune, so to view the surrounding area.

  • Amy followed him to the top of the dune and let out a frightened screech when her foot sunk in the sand. Somehow she had been expecting a dust storm, but somehow this was worse in her eyes. She was grateful for the coat Dmitrii gave her, but she was still soaked to some degree, though that might be because it didn't fit her well, "Dmitrii?!" She yelled above the rain, "are you sure this is a good idea?!" She shouted.

Garchomp was still in his Pokeball as they traversed the storm. She didn't think to bring him out yet since they still hadn't decided if they would keep going or not.

  • alright :p sorry again

Dmitrii spat out some sand before responding. “Sure! I mean yeah it’s kinda bad but there’s worse!” He grinned before taking a step onto air, and slipping down the dune with a “Woah!”

Dmitrii and Banette sat at the other side of the dune, laughing their wet a**es off, Dmitrii ignoring the pain shooting through his left arm. Unaware to them, Dmitrii accidentally pressed the button of Scizor’s pokeball, returning the pokemon to the world. His heavy body immediately sunk a little, his feet being submersed in sand before he stopped moving. He tried to look angry but it was hard with the sand blowing about, and the rain getting in his eyes. Dmitrii tilted his head back from his position, his back against the sand; “Oh hey Scizor, what are you doing out?” The red pokemon subsequently glared at him.

Dmitrii suddenly turned as white as a sheet as he noticed a figure deep in the storm. It was back. The pitch black creature. The lanky nine foot creature walked by Scizor, and stood in front of the scared trainer. He immediately tried to scamper back, but he winced. He wasn’t able to put any weight on his broken arm, he must have rolled down the hill harder than he thought. Dmitrii’s eyes widened as the frightening figure started to reach a hand out to grab Dmitrii.

  • "I don't agree with that!" She yelled above the storm just before the two went sliding down the dune, leaving her alone at the top with her foot stuck in the sand.

Amy had let out a disgruntled groan when the two had begun to laugh at the bottom of the dune. Her jeans were slick with sand and water while her shoes were filling with the wet sand faster than she could move about in the storm. She had begun to make her way down the dune when she noticed Dmitrii's frantic attempts to escape, but the only thing down there was Scizor and he didn't seem to be moving. She was slow to connect the dots at first, but the result almost hit her like a freight train when it did.

    "Dmitrii!"

She screamed his name above the rain as she tried to move faster down the dune. The faster she tried to move, the more sluggish her movements were as her feet, now weighted with the wet sand, dragged her feet down so it was light she was wading through snow. The rain blinded her, but Scizor's red hue stood out enough among the nearly black sand and she knew his trainer couldn't be that much farther away. "Dmitrii!" She cried out again to try and break him from his waking nightmare. She continued to yell to him as she made her way down and each one seemed more frantic than the last. As if in response to her cries a bright white light burst from inside her rain coat before a large Pokemon went tumbling down the hill towards the bottom of the dune with a startled cry. They landed next to Scizor with a loud groan before sinking down into the wet sand just like the metal/bug-type had just minutes ago as the bright red bow became instantly flattened in the rain.

  • Dmitrii shook in place violently as the black figure got closer. A mouth formed on his face, but he still lacked eyes. He stopped inches from the terrified trainer’s face and stood there, giving out a predatorial aura of sorts. Dmitrii heard Amy call out his name. He tried to call back out to ber but he couldn’t raise his voice to anything higher than a croak. Rain dripped from the sky onto his face as his hood cane loose in his struggle to get away from the creature. His hair was plastered to his head. He tried to move but he couldn’t.

  • Amy hit the bottom of the dune face first and slid just a few inches in the wet sand. She struggled to get feet and ran as fast as she could over to Dmitrii, still calling his name. In her struggle to move her shoes had fallen off so her movement was considerably faster, even if she was still sinking in the sand. When she reached his side she meant to tackle him, but she neither had the momentum nor the weight to do so, so instead she wrapped her arms around him from the side, "Dmitrii, wake up!" She nearly screamed at him as she had her head pressed into his right arm with hers around him in a hug as her tears mixed with the rain streaming down her face, "please!"

Garchomp, after a few minutes of floundering in the wet sand, had finally made his way to his feet. He looked around at the storm with his golden eyes the size of pinholes and his head staring upwards at the dark clouds. He didn't like this, not one bit. Sand was his domain, but this kind of sand was almost more suitable for a water-type Pokemon as they could probably move faster. Fast was what they needed, the storm was getting worse and heading their way.
